Nehemiah 3

1 And Eliashib the high priest rises, and his brothers the priests, and they build the Sheep Gate; they have sanctified it, and set up its doors, even to the Tower of Meah they have sanctified it, to the Tower of Hananeel;

١ وَقَامَ أَلِيَاشِيبُ رَئِيسُ الْكَهَنَةِ وَبَنَى بَابَ الضَّأْنِ بِمُؤَازَرَةِ إِخْوَتِهِ الْكَهَنَةِ. ثُمَّ قَدَّسُوهُ وَثَبَّتُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ، وَثَابَرُوا عَلَى الْبِنَاءِ حَتَّى بَلَغُوا بُرْجَ الْمِئَةِ وَبُرْجَ حَنَنْئِيلَ.

2 and by his hand men of Jericho have built; and by their hand Zaccur son of Imri has built;

٢ وَقَامَ رِجَالُ أَرِيحَا إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ يَبْنُونَ جُزءاً مِنَ السُّورِ، وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ بَنَى زَكُّورُ بْنُ إِمْرِي،

3 and sons of Hassenaah have built the Fish Gate; they have walled it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

٣ وَبَنَى بَنُو هَسْنَاءَةَ بَابَ السَّمَكِ، وَسَقَفُوهُ وَنَصَبُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ.

4 And by their hand Merimoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, has strengthened; and by his hand Meshullam son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabeel, has strengthened; and by his hand Zadok son of Baana has strengthened;

٤ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ مَرِيمُوثُ بنُ أُورِيَّا بْنِ هَقُّوصَ قِسْماً مِنَ السُّورِ، كَمَا قَامَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ مَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَرَخْيَا بْنِ مَشِيزَبْئِيلَ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ، وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ صَادُوقُ بْنُ بَعْنَا.

5 and by his hand the Tekoites have strengthened, and their majestic ones have not brought in their neck to the service of their Lord.

٥ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ التَّقُوعِيُّ

6 And Jehoiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah have strengthened the Old Gate; they have walled it, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.

٦ وَرَمَّمَ يُويَادَاعُ بْنُ فَاسِيحَ وَمَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَسُودْيَا الْبَابَ الْعَتِيقَ، وَسَقَفَاهُ وَنَصَبَا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ.

7 And by their hand Melatiah the Gibeonite has strengthened, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, [belonging] to the throne of the governor beyond the River.

٧ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمَا قَامَ مَلَطْيَا الْجِبْعُونِيُّ وَيَادُونُ الْمِيرُونُوثِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ جِبْعُونَ وَالْمِصْفَاةِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ، حَتَّى وَصَلَ إِلَى قْصْر حَاكِمِ مِنْطَقَةِ غَرْبِيِّ الْفُرَاتِ.

8 By his hand Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the refiners has strengthened; and by his hand Hananiah son of [one of] the compounders has strengthened; and they leave Jerusalem to the broad wall.

٨ وَرَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمَا عُزِّيئِيلُ بْنُ حَرْهَايَا الصَّائِغُ. وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ حَنَنْيَا الْعَطَّارُ وَتَرَكُوا تَرْمِيمَ أُورُشَلِيمَ إِلَى السُّورِ الْعَرِيضِ.

9 And by their hand Rephaiah son of Hur, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, has strengthened.

٩ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ رَفَايَا بْنُ حُورٍ، رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ أُورُشَلِيمَ، جُزْءاً مِنَ السُّورِ.

10 And by their hand Jedaiah son of Harumaph has strengthened, and opposite his own house; and by his hand Hattush son of Hashabniah has strengthened.

١٠ كَمَا رَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ يَدَايَا بْنُ حَرُومَافَ القِسْمَ الْمُقَابِلَ لِبَيْتِهِ. وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ حَطُّوشُ بْنُ حَشَبْنِيَا.

11 A second measure Malchijah son of Harim has strengthened, and Hashub son of Pahath-Moab, even the Tower of the Furnaces.

١١ وَرَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ حَارِيمَ وَحَشُّوبُ بْنُ فَحَثَ مُوآبَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، بِالإِضَافَةِ إِلَى بُرْجِ التَّنَانِيرِ.

12 And by his hand Shallum son of Halohesh, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, has strengthened, he and his daughters.

١٢ وَقَامَ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ شَلُّومُ بْنُ هَلُّوحِيشَ رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ أُورُشَلِيمَ هُوَ وَبَنَاتُهُ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ.

13 Hanun has strengthened the Valley Gate, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they have built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and one thousand cubits in the wall to the Refuse Gate.

١٣ وَرَمَّمَ حَانُونُ وَسُكَّانُ زَانُوحَ بَابَ الْوَادِي، وَنَصَبُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ، فَضْلاً عَنْ أَلْفِ ذِرَاعٍ (خَمْسِ مِئَةِ مِتْرٍ) مِنَ السُّورِ حَتَّى بَابِ الدِّمْنِ.

14 And Malchijah son of Rechab, head of the district of Beth-Haccerem, has strengthened the Refuse Gate; he builds it, and sets up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

١٤ وَرَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ رَكَابَ رَئِيسُ دَائِرَةِ بَيْتِ هَكَّارِيمَ بَابَ الدِّمْنِ وَنَصَبَ مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ.

15 And Shallum son of Col-Hozeh, head of the district of Mizpah, has strengthened the Fountain Gate: he builds it, and covers it, and sets up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Siloah, to the garden of the king, and to the steps that are going down from the City of David.

١٥ كَمَا رَمَّمَ شَلُّونُ بْنُ كَلْحُوزَةَ رَئِيسُ دَائِرَةِ الْمِصْفَاةِ بَابَ الْعَيْنِ وَسَقَفَهُ وَنَصَبَ مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ، وَأَعَادَ بِنَاءَ سُورِ بِرْكَةِ سِلُوَامَ عِنْدَ حَدِيقَةِ الْمَلِكِ حَتَّى الدَّرَجِ الْمُنْحَدِرِ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ دَاوُدَ.

16 After him Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of the half of the district of Beth-Zur, has strengthened to opposite the graves of David, and to the pool that is made, and to the house of the mighty ones.

١٦ وَبَعْدَهُ رَمَّمَ نَحَمْيَا بْنُ عَزْبُوقَ رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ بَيْتِ صُورَ جُزْءاً مِنَ السُّورِ حَتَّى مُقَابِلِ مَدَافِنِ دَاوُدَ، فَالْبِرْكَةِ الاصْطِنَاعِيَّةِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الأَبْطَالِ.

17 After him the Levites have strengthened, [and] Rehum son of Bani; by his hand Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, has strengthened for his district.

١٧ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ قَامَ اللّاوِيُّونَ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ: رَحُومُ بْنُ بَانِي، وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ قَامَ حَشَبْيَا رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ قَعِيلَةَ بِتَرْمِيمِ الْجُزْءِ الَّذِي يَقَعُ فِي قِسْمِهِ.

18 After him their brothers have strengthened, [and] Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah.

١٨ ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ إِخْوَتُهُمْ بِإِشْرَافِ بَوَّايَ بْنِ حِينَادَادَ رَئِيسِ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ قَعِيلَةَ قِسْماً.

19 And Ezer son of Jeshua, head of Mizpah, strengthens, by his hand, a second measure, from in front of the ascent of the armory at the angle.

١٩ كَمَا رَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِ عَازَرُ بْنُ يَشُوعَ رَئِيسُ الْمِصْفَاةِ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، مِنْ أَمَامِ عَقَبَةِ مَخْزَنِ السِّلاحِ عِنْدَ الزَّاوِيَةِ.

20 After him Baruch son of Zabbai has hurried to strengthen a second measure from the angle to the opening of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

٢٠ وَتَلاهُ بَارُوخُ بْنُ زَبَّايَ فَرَمَّمَ بِحَمَاسٍ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، مِنَ الزَّاوِيَةِ حَتَّى مَدْخَلِ بَيْتِ أَلِيَاشِيبَ رَئِيسِ الْكَهَنَةِ.

21 After him Meremoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, has strengthened a second measure, from the opening of the house of Eliashib even to the completion of the house of Eliashib.

٢١ وَأَعْقَبَهُ مَرِيمُوثُ بْنُ أُورِيَّا بْنِ هَقُّوصَ، فَرَمَّمَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً مِنْ مَدْخَلِ بَيْتِ أَلِيَاشِيبَ إِلَى نِهَايَتِهِ.

22 And after him the priests, men of the circuit, have strengthened.

٢٢ ثُمَّ بَعْدَهُ قَامَ الْكَهَنَةُ أَهْلُ الْغَوْرِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ.

23 After them Benjamin has strengthened, and Hashub, opposite their house; after him Azariah son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, has strengthened near his house.

٢٣ وَبَعْدَهُمْ رَمَّمَ بَنْيَامِينُ وَحَشُّوبُ قُبَالَةَ بَيْتِهِمَا. كَمَا رَمَّمَ عَزَرْيَا بْنُ مَعْسِيَا بْنِ عَنَنْيَا بِجَانِبِ بَيْتِهِ.

24 After him Binnui son of Henadad has strengthened a second measure, from the house of Azariah to the angle, and to the corner.

٢٤ وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ رَمَّمَ بَنُّويُ بْنُ حِينَادَادَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، ابْتِدَاءً مِنْ بَيْتِ عَزَرْيَا إِلَى الزَّاوِيَةِ فَالْعَطْفَةِ.

25 Palal son of Uzai [strengthened] from opposite the angle, and the tower that is going out from the upper house of the king that [is] at the court of the prison; after him Pedaiah son of Parosh [strengthened].

٢٥ وَرَمَّمَ فَالالُ بْنُ أُوزَايَ مِنْ مُقَابِلِ الزَّاوِيَةِ، وَالْبُرْجِ الْقَائِمِ خَارِجَ قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ الأَعْلَى، عِنْدَ فِنَاءِ السِّجْنِ. وَأَعْقَبَهُ فَدَايَا بْنُ فَرْعُوشَ.

26 And the Nethinim have been dwelling in Ophel, to opposite the Water Gate at the east, and the tower that goes out.

٢٦ وَرَمَّمَ خُدَّامُ الْهَيْكَلِ السَّاكِنُونَ فِي الأَكَمَةِ حَتَّى مُقَابِلِ بَابِ الْمَاءِ شَرْقاً، وَالْبُرْجِ الْخَارِجِيِّ.

27 After him the Tekoites have strengthened a second measure, from opposite the great tower that goes out, and to the wall of Ophel.

٢٧ كَذَلِكَ رَمَّمَ التَّقُوعِيُّونَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً فِي مُقَابِلِ الْبُرْجِ الْكَبِيرِ الْخَارِجِيِّ حَتَّى سُورِ الأَكَمَةِ.

28 From above the Horse Gate the priests have strengthened, each opposite his house.

٢٨ وَرَمَّمَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْكَهَنَةِ الْجُزْءَ الْوَاقِعَ أَمَامَ بَيْتِهِ مِنَ الْقِسْمِ الْمُمْتَدِّ مِنْ بَابِ الْخَيْلِ.

29 After them Zadok son of Immer has strengthened opposite his house; and after him Shemaiah son of Shechaniah, keeper of the East Gate, has strengthened.

٢٩ وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِمْ رَمَّمَ صَادُوقُ بْنُ إِمِّيرَ مُقَابِلَ بَيْتِهِ. وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ قَامَ شَمَعْيَا بْنُ شَكَنْيَا حَارِسُ بَابِ الشَّرْقِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ.

30 After him Hananiah son of Shelemiah has strengthened, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, a second measure; after him Meshullam son of Berechiah has strengthened opposite his chamber.

٣٠ ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ حَنَنْيَا بْنُ شَلَمْيَا، وَحَانُونُ الابْنُ السَّادِسُ لِصَالافَ، قِسْماً ثَانِياً. كَمَا رَمَّمَ بِقُرْبِهِمَا مَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَرَخْيَا مُقَابِلَ مُخْدَعِهِ.

31 After him Malchijah son of the refiner has strengthened, to the house of the Nethinim, and of the merchants, opposite the Miphkad Gate, and to the ascent of the corner.

٣١ وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ الصَّائِغِ حَتَّى بَيْتِ خُدَّامِ الْهَيْكَلِ، وَبَهْوِ التُّجَّارِ مُقَابِلَ بَابِ الْعَدِّ فَعَقَبَةِ الْعَطْفَةِ.

32 And between the ascent of the corner and the Sheep Gate, the refiners and the merchants have strengthened.

٣٢ ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ الصَّاغَةُ وَالتُّجَّارُ مَا بَيْنَ عَقَبَةِ الْعَطْفَةِ إِلَى بَابِ الضَّأْنِ.
