Micah 5

1 Now gather yourself together, O daughter of troops, He has laid a siege against us, They strike [the] judge of Israel on the cheek with a rod.

O hija de guerreros, Ahora prepara tu defensa; nos sitiaron; darán un golpe en la cara al juez de Israel con una vara.

2 “And you, Beth-Lehem Ephratah, Little to be among the chiefs of Judah! From you He comes forth to Me—to be ruler in Israel, And His comings forth [are] of old, From the days of antiquity.”

Y tú, Belén de Efrata, la menor de las familias de Judá, de ti vendrá uno que será el gobernante en Israel; cuya salida ha sido propuesta desde el pasado, desde los días eternos.

3 Therefore He gives them up until the time she who brings forth has brought forth, And the remnant of His brothers return to the sons of Israel.

Por esta causa, él los abandonará hasta el momento en que la mujer que está embarazada haya dado a luz; entonces el resto de sus hermanos volverá a los hijos de Israel.

4 And He has stood and delighted in the strength of YHWH, In the excellence of the Name of His God YHWH, And they have remained, For now He is great to the ends of the earth.

Y él tomará su lugar y dará de comer a su rebaño en la fuerza del Señor, en la gloria del nombre del Señor su Dios; y permanecerán, por que en aquel tiempo Él será engrandecido hasta los confines de la tierra.

5 And this [One] has been peace. Asshur, when he comes into our land, And when he treads in our palaces, We have raised against him seven shepherds, And eight anointed of man.

Y esta será nuestra paz: cuando el asirio entre a nuestro país y cuando pisotee nuestros palacios, entonces levantaremos contra él a siete guardianes de los rebaños y ocho jefes de entre el pueblo.

6 And they have afflicted the land of Asshur with the sword, And the land of Nimrod at its openings, And He has delivered from Asshur when he comes into our land, And when he treads in our borders.

Y destruirán la tierra de Asiria con la espada, y la tierra de Nimrod con el filo de la espada; nos dará la salvación del asirio cuando venga a nuestro país, cuando sus pies entren en el límite de nuestra tierra.

7 And the remnant of Jacob has been in the midst of many peoples, As dew from YHWH—as showers on the herb, That does not wait for man, nor stays for the sons of men.

Y el remanente de Jacob estará entre la multitud de pueblos como el rocío del Señor, como aguaceros sobre la hierba, que no esperan al hombre, ni esperan a los hijos del hombre.

8 Indeed, the remnant of Jacob has been among nations, In the midst of many peoples, As a lion among beasts of a forest, As a young lion among ranks of a flock, Which if it has passed through, Has both trodden down and has torn, And there is no deliverer.

Y el remanente de Jacob estará entre las naciones, en medio de muchos pueblos, como un león entre las bestias del bosque, como un leoncillo entre los rebaños de ovejas; que si pasa, pisotea y desgarra, y no habrá quien libre.

9 High is your hand above your adversaries, And all your enemies are cut off.

Tu mano se levanta contra los que están contra ti, y todos tus enemigos serán exterminados.

10 “And it has come to pass in that day,” A declaration of YHWH, “I have cut off your horses from your midst, And I have destroyed your chariots,

Y sucederá en ese día, dice el Señor, que te quitaré tus caballos y destruiré tus carruajes de guerra:

11 And I have cut off the cities of your land, And I have thrown down all your fortresses,

Destruiré los pueblos de tu tierra y que derriben todos tus fortalezas:

12 And have cut off sorcerers out of your hand, And observers of clouds—you have none.

Pondré fin a tus hechicerías, y no tendrás más adivinos:

13 And I have cut off your carved images, And your standing-pillars out of your midst, And you do not bow yourself anymore To the work of your hands.

Destruiré tus imágenes y tus columnas; y ya no rendirás culto a la obra de tus manos.

14 And I have plucked up your Asherim out of your midst, And I have destroyed your enemies.

Haré que saquen a sus Aseras de entre ustedes, y enviaré destrucción a sus ciudades.

15 And I have done vengeance in anger and in fury, With the nations who have not listened!”

Y mi castigo se efectuará sobre las naciones con una ira ardiente, sobre las naciones que no obedecieron.
