Matthew 3
1 And in those days John the Immerser comes, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea,
ததா³நோம்’ யோஹ்ந்நாமா மஜ்ஜயிதா யிஹூதீ³யதே³ஸ²ஸ்ய ப்ராந்தரம் உபஸ்தா²ய ப்ரசாரயந் கத²யாமாஸ,
2 and saying, “Convert, for the kingdom of the heavens has come near,”
மநாம்’ஸி பராவர்த்தயத, ஸ்வர்கீ³யராஜத்வம்’ ஸமீபமாக³தம்|
3 for this is he having been spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “A voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD, Make His paths straight.”
பரமேஸ²ஸ்ய பந்தா²நம்’ பரிஷ்குருத ஸர்வ்வத: | தஸ்ய ராஜபதா²ம்’ஸ்²சைவ ஸமீகுருத ஸர்வ்வதா²| இத்யேதத் ப்ராந்தரே வாக்யம்’ வத³த: கஸ்யசித்³ ரவ: ||
4 And this John had his clothing of camel’s hair, and a girdle of skin around his loins, and his nourishment was locusts and honey of the field.
ஏதத்³வசநம்’ யிஸ²யியப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நா யோஹநமுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய பா⁴ஷிதம்| யோஹநோ வஸநம்’ மஹாங்க³ரோமஜம்’ தஸ்ய கடௌ சர்ம்மகடிப³ந்த⁴நம்’; ஸ ச ஸூ²ககீடாந் மது⁴ ச பு⁴க்தவாந்|
5 Then were going forth to him Jerusalem, and all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan,
ததா³நீம்’ யிரூஸா²லம்நக³ரநிவாஸிந: ஸர்வ்வே யிஹூதி³தே³ஸீ²யா யர்த்³த³ந்தடிந்யா உப⁴யதடஸ்தா²ஸ்²ச மாநவா ப³ஹிராக³த்ய தஸ்ய ஸமீபே
6 and they were immersed in the Jordan by him, confessing their sins.
ஸ்வீயம்’ ஸ்வீயம்’ து³ரிதம் அங்கீ³க்ரு’த்ய தஸ்யாம்’ யர்த்³த³நி தேந மஜ்ஜிதா ப³பூ⁴வு: |
7 And having seen many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming about his immersion, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who showed you to flee from the coming wrath?
அபரம்’ ப³ஹூந் பி²ரூஸி²ந: ஸிதூ³கிநஸ்²ச மநுஜாந் மம்’க்தும்’ ஸ்வஸமீபம் ஆக³ச்ச்²தோ விலோக்ய ஸ தாந் அபி⁴த³தௌ⁴, ரே ரே பு⁴ஜக³வம்’ஸா² ஆகா³மீந: கோபாத் பலாயிதும்’ யுஷ்மாந் கஸ்²சேதிதவாந்?
8 Bear, therefore, fruits worthy of conversion,
மந: பராவர்த்தநஸ்ய ஸமுசிதம்’ ப²லம்’ ப²லத|
9 and do not think to say in yourselves, We have a father—Abraham, for I say to you that God is able to raise children to Abraham out of these stones,
கிந்த்வஸ்மாகம்’ தாத இப்³ராஹீம் அஸ்தீதி ஸ்வேஷு மந: ஸு சீந்தயந்தோ மா வ்யாஹரத| யதோ யுஷ்மாந் அஹம்’ வதா³மி, ஈஸ்²வர ஏதேப்⁴ய: பாஷாணேப்⁴ய இப்³ராஹீம: ஸந்தாநாந் உத்பாத³யிதும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி|
10 and now also, the axe is laid to the root of the trees, therefore, every tree not bearing good fruit is cut down, and is cast into fire.
அபரம்’ பாத³பாநாம்’ மூலே குடா²ர இதா³நீமபி லக³ந் ஆஸ்தே, தஸ்மாத்³ யஸ்மிந் பாத³பே உத்தமம்’ ப²லம்’ ந ப⁴வதி, ஸ க்ரு’த்தோ மத்⁴யே(அ)க்³நிம்’ நிக்ஷேப்ஸ்யதே|
11 I indeed immerse you in water for conversion, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to carry the sandals, He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire,
அபரம் அஹம்’ மந: பராவர்த்தநஸூசகேந மஜ்ஜநேந யுஷ்மாந் மஜ்ஜயாமீதி ஸத்யம்’, கிந்து மம பஸ்²சாத்³ ய ஆக³ச்ச²தி, ஸ மத்தோபி மஹாந், அஹம்’ ததீ³யோபாநஹௌ வோடு⁴மபி நஹி யோக்³யோஸ்மி, ஸ யுஷ்மாந் வஹ்நிரூபே பவித்ர ஆத்மநி ஸம்’மஜ்ஜயிஷ்யதி|
12 whose fan [is] in His hand, and He will thoroughly cleanse His floor, and will gather His wheat into the storehouse, but He will burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
தஸ்ய காரே ஸூர்ப ஆஸ்தே, ஸ ஸ்வீயஸ²ஸ்யாநி ஸம்யக் ப்ரஸ்போ²ட்ய நிஜாந் ஸகலகோ³தூ⁴மாந் ஸம்’க்³ரு’ஹ்ய பா⁴ண்டா³கா³ரே ஸ்தா²பயிஷ்யதி, கிம்’ந்து ஸர்வ்வாணி வுஷாண்யநிர்வ்வாணவஹ்நிநா தா³ஹயிஷ்யதி|
13 Then Jesus comes from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be immersed by him,
அநந்தரம்’ யீஸு² ர்யோஹநா மஜ்ஜிதோ ப⁴விதும்’ கா³லீல்ப்ரதே³ஸா²த்³ யர்த்³த³நி தஸ்ய ஸமீபம் ஆஜகா³ம|
14 but John was forbidding Him, saying, “I have need to be immersed by You—and You come to me?”
கிந்து யோஹந் தம்’ நிஷித்⁴ய ப³பா⁴ஷே, த்வம்’ கிம்’ மம ஸமீபம் ஆக³ச்ச²ஸி? வரம்’ த்வயா மஜ்ஜநம்’ மம ப்ரயோஜநம் ஆஸ்தே|
15 But Jesus answering said to him, “Permit [it] now, for thus it is fitting to us to fulfill all righteousness,” then he permits Him.
ததா³நீம்’ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யவோசத்; ஈதா³நீம் அநுமந்யஸ்வ, யத இத்த²ம்’ ஸர்வ்வத⁴ர்ம்மஸாத⁴நம் அஸ்மாகம்’ கர்த்தவ்யம்’, தத: ஸோ(அ)ந்வமந்யத|
16 And having been immersed, Jesus immediately went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on Him,
அநந்தரம்’ யீஸு²ரம்மஸி மஜ்ஜிது: ஸந் தத்க்ஷணாத் தோயமத்⁴யாத்³ உத்தா²ய ஜகா³ம, ததா³ ஜீமூதத்³வாரே முக்தே ஜாதே, ஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்யாத்மாநம்’ கபோதவத்³ அவருஹ்ய ஸ்வோபர்ய்யாக³ச்ச²ந்தம்’ வீக்ஷாஞ்சக்ரே|
17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delighted.”
அபரம் ஏஷ மம ப்ரிய: புத்ர ஏதஸ்மிந்நேவ மம மஹாஸந்தோஷ ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸீ² வ்யோமஜா வாக்³ ப³பூ⁴வ|
