Matthew 25
1 “Then will the kingdom of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom;
Entonces el reino de los cielos será como diez vírgenes, que tomaron sus lámparas, y salieron con el propósito de buscar al esposo.
2 and five of them were prudent, and five foolish;
Y cinco de ellas eran insensatas, y cinco prudentes.
3 they who were foolish having taken their lamps, did not take with themselves oil;
Porque las necias, cuando tomaron sus luces, no tomaron aceite con ellas.
4 and the prudent took oil in their vessels, with their lamps.
Pero las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus lámparas.
5 And the bridegroom lingering, they all nodded and were sleeping,
Ahora el esposo tardó mucho en llegar, y todos se fueron a dormir.
6 and in the middle of the night a cry was made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go forth to meet him!
Pero en el medio de la noche hay un grito, ¡él esposo viene! Salgan a recibirlo.
7 Then all those virgins rose, and trimmed their lamps,
Entonces todas esas vírgenes se levantaron, y prepararon sus lámparas.
8 and the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out;
Y las necias dijeron a las prudentes: Danos de tu aceite; porque nuestras lámparas se están apagando.
9 and the prudent answered, saying, Lest there may not be sufficient for us and you, go rather to those selling, and buy for yourselves.
Pero las prudentes respondieron, diciendo: Puede que no haya suficiente para nosotras y para ustedes; Sería mejor para ustedes ir a los comerciantes y comprar petróleo para ustedes mismas.
10 And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those ready went in with him to the wedding feasts, and the door was shut;
Y mientras iban a buscar aceite, vino el esposo; y las que estaban listas entraron con él a la boda; y la puerta se cerró.
11 and afterward come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, lord, open to us;
Después vinieron las otras vírgenes, diciendo: Señor, Señor, déjanos entrar.
12 and he answering said, Truly I say to you, I have not known you.
Pero él respondió y dijo: En verdad les digo que no les conozco.
13 Watch therefore, for you have not known the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man comes.
Vigila, entonces, porque no saben del día o de la hora que él Hijo del hombre ha de venir.
14 For—as a man going abroad called his own servants, and delivered to them his substance,
Porque es como cuando un hombre, a punto de emprender un viaje, reunió a sus siervos y les dio que cuidaran su propiedad.
15 and to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his several ability, went abroad immediately.
Y a uno le dio cinco talentos, a otro dos, a otro uno; a todos conforme a su capacidad; y él se fue de viaje.
16 And he who received the five talents, having gone, worked with them, and made five other talents;
Enseguida, el que había recibido los cinco talentos fue y negoció con ellos e hizo cinco más.
17 in like manner also he who [received] the two, he gained, also he, other two;
De la misma manera, al que le dieron los dos recibió dos más.
18 and he who received the one, having gone away, dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
Pero el que le fue dado uno se fue y lo puso en un hoyo en la tierra, y guardó el dinero de su señor en un lugar secreto.
19 And after a long time comes the lord of those servants, and takes reckoning with them;
Después de mucho tiempo, viene el señor de aquellos siervos, y hace su cuenta con ellos.
20 and he who received the five talents, having come, brought five other talents, saying, Lord, you delivered five talents to me; behold, I gained five other talents besides them.
Y el que tenía los cinco talentos, vino con sus otros cinco talentos, diciendo: Señor, tú diste cinco talentos a mi cuidado: mira, tengo cinco más.
21 And his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things; enter into the joy of your lord.
Y su señor le dijo: Bien hecho, siervo bueno y verdadero: has sido fiel en lo pequeño, yo te daré el control sobre las cosas grandes: toma tu parte en la alegría de tu señor.
22 And he also, who received the two talents, having come, said, Lord, you delivered to me two talents; behold, I gained two other talents besides them.
Y vino el que tenía los dos talentos, y dijo: Señor, tú me diste dos talentos: he aquí, tengo otros dos.
23 His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things; enter into the joy of your lord.
Y su señor le dijo: Bien hecho, siervo bueno y fiel: has sido fiel en lo pequeño, yo te daré el control sobre las cosas grandes: toma tu parte en la alegría de tu señor.
24 And he also who has received the one talent, having come, said, Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering from where you did not scatter;
Y vino el que tenía un solo talento, y dijo: Señor, sabía que eres un hombre duro, y que siegas donde no sembraste, y recoges donde no esparciste.
25 and having been afraid, having gone away, I hid your talent in the earth; behold, you have your own!
Y yo tuve miedo, y fui, y puse tu talento en la tierra: aquí está lo que es tuyo.
26 And his lord answering said to him, Evil servant, and slothful, you had known that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather from where I did not scatter!
Pero su señor en respuesta le dijo: Eres un siervo malo y perezoso; si sabías que siego donde no sembré y que recojo donde no esparcí.
27 It was necessary [for] you then to put my money to the money-lenders, and having come I had received my own with increase.
¿Por qué no pusiste mi dinero en el banco y, a al volver yo, hubiera recibido lo que es mío con intereses?
28 Take therefore from him the talent, and give to him having the ten talents,
Quita, pues, su talento y dáselo a quien tiene los diez talentos.
29 for to everyone having will be given, and he will have overabundance, and from him who is not having, even that which he has will be taken from him;
Porque a todo el que tiene se le dará, y tendrá más; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
30 and cast forth the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.
Y al siervo inútil echar en las tinieblas de fuera: allí será el llanto y crujir de dientes.
31 And whenever the Son of Man may come in His glory, and all the holy messengers with Him, then He will sit on a throne of His glory;
Pero cuando el Hijo del hombre venga en su gloria, y todos los ángeles con él, se sentará en su trono de gloria.
32 and all the nations will be gathered together before Him, and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats,
Y delante de él todas las naciones se juntarán; y serán separados el uno del otro, como las ovejas se separan de las cabras por el pastor.
33 and He will set the sheep indeed on His right hand, and the goats on the left.
Y pondrá las ovejas a su derecha, pero las cabras a la izquierda.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, the blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom that has been prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
Entonces el Rey dirá a los que están a su derecha: Vengan, ustedes que tienen la bendición de mi Padre, en el reino preparado para ustedes desde la fundación del mundo:
35 for I hungered, and you gave Me to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me to drink; I was a stranger, and you received Me;
Porque yo tuve hambre, y ustedes me dieron de comer: tuve sed, y ustedes me dieron de beber: fui forastero y me hospedaron;
36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you looked after Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.
No tenía ropa, y me la dieron: cuando estuve enfermo me visitaron o en la cárcel, vinieron a mí.
37 Then will the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, and we nourished? Or thirsting, and we gave to drink?
Entonces los justos responderán a él, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos con hambre, y te dimos de comer? o sediento y te dimos de beber?
38 And when did we see You a stranger, and we received? Or naked, and we clothed?
¿Y cuándo te vimos vagando y te dimos alojamiento? o falto de ropa, y te la dimos?
39 And when did we see You ailing or in prison, and we came to You?
¿Y cuándo te vimos enfermo, o en la cárcel, y vinimos a ti?
40 And the King answering, will say to them, Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did [it] to one of these My brothers—the least—you did [it] to Me.
Y el Rey responderá y les dirá: De cierto les digo, porque lo hiciste al más pequeño de estos, mis hermanos, me lo hiciste a mí.
41 Then will He say also to those on the left hand, Go from Me, the cursed, into the continuous fire that has been prepared for the Devil and his messengers; (aiōnios g166)
Entonces dirá a los que están a la izquierda: “Salgan de mí, malditos”, al fuego eterno que está listo para el Maligno y sus ángeles: (aiōnios g166)
42 for I hungered, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me nothing to drink;
Porque yo necesitaba comida, y ustedes no me la dieron; Necesitaba beber, y no me diste de beber;
43 I was a stranger, and you did not receive Me; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick and in prison, and you did not look after Me.
Vagué, y no me hospedaron; sin ropa, y no me dieron ropa; enfermo, y en prisión, y ustedes no vinieron a mí.
44 Then they will answer, they also, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and we did not minister to You?
Entonces responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos necesitado de comida o bebida, o vagando, o sin ropa, o enfermo, o en la cárcel, y no te cuidamos?
45 Then will He answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did [it] not to one of these, the least, you did [it] not to Me.
Entonces él les responderá, diciendo: De cierto les digo, porque no lo hiciste al más humilde de estos, no me lo hiciste a mí.
