Matthew 24
1 And having gone forth, Jesus departed from the temple, and His disciples came near to show Him the buildings of the temple,
Et Jésus étant sorti du temple, s’en alla. Alors ses disciples s’approchèrent pour lui faire remarquer les constructions du temple.
2 and Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these? Truly I say to you, there may not be left here a stone on a stone that will not be thrown down.”
Mais lui-même, prenant la parole, leur dit: Voyez-vous toutes ces choses? En vérité je vous dis: Il ne restera pas là pierre sur pierre qui ne soit détruite.
3 And when He is sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came near to Him by Himself, saying, “Tell us, when will these be? And what [is] the sign of Your coming, and of the full end of the age?” (aiōn g165)
Et comme il était assis sur le mont des Oliviers, ses disciples s’approchèrent de lui en particulier, disant: Dites-nous quand ces choses arriveront? et quel sera le signe de votre avènement et de la consommation du siècle? (aiōn g165)
4 And Jesus answering said to them, “Take heed that no one may lead you astray,
Et Jésus répondant, leur dit: Prenez garde que quelqu’un ne vous séduise;
5 for many will come in My Name, saying, I am the Christ, and they will lead many astray,
Car beaucoup viendront en mon nom, disant: Je suis le Christ, et beaucoup seront séduits par eux.
6 and you will begin to hear of wars, and reports of wars; see, do not be troubled, for it is necessary for all [these] to come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Vous entendrez parler de combats et de bruits de combats. N’en soyez point troublés, car il faut que ces choses arrivent; mais ce n’est pas encore la fin.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places;
Car un peuple se soulèvera contre un peuple, un royaume contre un royaume; et il y aura des pestes et des famines, et des tremblements de terre en divers lieux.
8 and all these [are the] beginning of travails;
Mais toutes ces choses sont le commencement des douleurs.
9 then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations because of My Name;
Alors on vous livrera aux tribulations et à la mort, et vous serez en haine à toutes les nations à cause de mon nom.
10 and then will many be stumbled, and they will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.
Alors beaucoup se scandaliseront; ils se trahiront et se haïront les uns les autres.
11 And many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray;
Beaucoup de faux prophètes aussi s’élèveront, et beaucoup seront séduits par eux.
12 and because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love of the many will become cold;
Et parce que l’iniquité aura abondé, la charité d’un grand nombre se refroidira.
13 but he who endured to the end, he will be saved;
Mais celui qui persévérera jusqu’à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé.
14 and this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations, and then will the end arrive.
Et cet Evangile du royaume sera prêché dans le monde entier, en témoignage à toutes les nations; et alors viendra la fin.
15 Whenever, therefore, you may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever is reading let him observe)
Quand donc vous verrez l’abomination de la désolation, prédite par le prophète Daniel, régnant dans le lieu saint (que celui qui lit entende):
16 then those in Judea—let them flee to the mountains;
Alors, que ceux qui sont dans la Judée fuient sur les montagnes;
17 he on the housetop—do not let him come down to take up anything out of his house;
Et que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende pas pour emporter quelque chose de sa maison:
18 and he in the field—do not let him turn back to take his garments.
Et que celui qui sera dans les champs ne revienne pas pour prendre sa tunique.
19 And woe to those with child, and to those giving suck in those days;
Mais malheur aux femmes enceintes et à celles qui nourriront en ces jours-là!
20 and pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on a Sabbath;
Priez donc que votre fuite n’arrive pas en hiver, ni en un jour de sabbat.
21 for there will then be great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor may be.
Car alors la tribulation sera grande, telle qu’il n’y en a point eu depuis le commencement du monde jusqu’à présent, et qu’il n’y en aura point.
22 And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen will those days be shortened.
Et si ces jours n’eussent été abrégés, nulle chair n’aurait été sauvée; mais à cause des élus, ces jours seront abrégés.
23 Then if anyone may say to you, Behold, here [is] the Christ! Or, Here! You may not believe;
Alors, si quelqu’un vous dit: Voici le Christ, ici, ou là, ne le croyez pas.
24 for there will arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, also the chosen.
Car il s’élèvera de faux Christs et de faux prophètes; et ils feront de grands signes et des prodiges, en sorte que soient induits en erreur (s’il peut se faire) même les élus.
25 Behold, I told you beforehand.
Voilà que je vous l’ai prédit.
26 If therefore they may say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness, you may not go forth; Behold, in the inner chambers, you may not believe;
Si donc on vous dit: Le voici dans le désert, ne sortez point: le voilà dans le lieu le plus retiré de la maison, ne le croyez pas.
27 for as the lightning comes forth from the east, and appears to the west, so will also be the coming of the Son of Man;
Car, comme l’éclair part de l’orient et apparaît jusqu’à l’occident, ainsi sera l’avènement du Fils de l’homme.
28 for wherever the carcass may be, there the eagles will be gathered together.
Partout où sera le corps, là aussi s’assembleront les aigles.
29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
Mais aussitôt après la tribulation de ces jours, le soleil s’obscurcira, et la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière; les étoiles tomberont du ciel et les vertus des cieux seront ébranlées.
30 and then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the tribes of the earth strike the breast, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of Heaven, with power and much glory;
Alors apparaîtra le signe du Fils de l’homme dans le ciel; alors pleureront toutes les tribus de la terre, et elles verront le Fils de l’homme venant dans les nuées du ciel, avec une grande puissance et une grande majesté.
31 and He will send His messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to the ends thereof.
Et il enverra les anges, qui, avec une trompette et une voix éclatante, rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents de la terre, du sommet des cieux jusqu’à leurs dernières profondeurs.
32 And from the fig tree learn the allegory: when its branch may have already become tender, and it may put forth the leaves, you know that summer [is] near,
Apprenez la parabole prise du figuier. Quand ses rameaux sont encore tendres et ses feuilles naissantes, vous savez que l’été est proche.
33 so also you, when you may see all these, you know that it is near—at the doors.
Ainsi vous-mêmes, lorsque vous verrez toutes ces choses, sachez que le Christ est proche, à la porte.
34 Truly I say to you, this generation may not pass away until all these may come to pass.
En vérité je vous dis que cette génération ne passera point jusqu’à ce que toutes ces choses s’accomplissent.
35 The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point.
36 And concerning that day and the hour no one has known—not even the messengers of the heavens—except My Father only;
Mais pour ce jour et cette heure, personne ne les sait, pas même les anges du ciel; il n’y a que le Père.
37 and as the days of Noah—so will also be the coming of the Son of Man;
Et comme aux jours de Noé, ainsi sera l’avènement du Fils de l’homme.
38 for as they were, in the days before the flood, eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered into the Ark,
Car, comme ils étaient aux jours d’avant le déluge, mangeant et buvant, se mariant et mariant leurs enfants, jusqu’au jour où Noé entra dans l’arche,
39 and they did not know until the flood came and took all away, so will also be the coming of the Son of Man.
Et qu’ils ne reconnurent point de déluge, jusqu’à ce qu’il arriva et les emporta tous: ainsi sera l’avènement même du Fils de l’homme.
40 Then two [men] will be in the field: one is received, and one is left;
Alors de deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l’un sera pris et l’autre laissé.
41 two [women] will be grinding in the mill: one is received, and one is left.
De deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l’une sera prise et l’autre laissée.
42 Watch therefore, because you have not known in what hour your Lord comes;
Veillez donc, parce que vous ne savez pas à quelle heure votre Seigneur doit venir.
43 and know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief comes, he had watched, and did not permit his house to be broken through;
Mais sachez ceci: Si le père de famille savait à quelle heure le voleur doit venir, il veillerait certainement et ne laisserait pas percer sa maison.
44 because of this also you, become ready, because in what hour you do not think, the Son of Man comes.
C’est pourquoi vous aussi, tenez-vous prêts; car vous ignorez l’heure à laquelle le Fils de l’homme doit venir.
45 Who, then, is the servant, faithful and wise, whom his lord set over his household, to give them the nourishment in season?
Qui, pensez-vous, est le serviteur fidèle et prudent que son maître a établi sur tous ses serviteurs, pour leur distribuer dans le temps leur nourriture?
46 Blessed that servant, whom his lord, having come, will find doing so;
Heureux ce serviteur, que son maître, lorsqu’il viendra, trouvera agissant ainsi.
47 truly I say to you that he will set him over all his substance.
En vérité, je vous dis qu’il l’établira sur tous ses biens.
48 And if that evil servant may say in his heart, My lord delays to come,
Mais si ce mauvais serviteur dit en son cœur: Mon maître tarde à venir;
49 and may begin to beat the fellow-servants, and to eat and to drink with the drunken,
Et qu’il se mette à battre ses compagnons, à manger et à boire avec des ivrognes,
50 the lord of that servant will arrive in a day when he does not expect, and in an hour of which he does not know,
Le maître de ce serviteur viendra le jour où il ne s’y attend pas, et à l’heure qu’il ignore;
51 and will cut him off, and will appoint his portion with the hypocrites; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.”
Et il le divisera, et il lui donnera ainsi sa part avec les hypocrites: là sera le pleur et le grincement de dents.
