< Matthew 23 >
1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes, and to His disciples,
Hanchu, Jisua'n mipuingei le a ruoisingei kôm chong a rila.
2 saying, “On the seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees;
“Balam minchupungei le Phariseengei hih Moses Balamngei rilminthârpu ngei ni ranga phal an ni.
3 all, then, as much as they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but according to their works do not do, for they say, and do not do;
Masikin itho ranga nangni an be murdi chu nin jômin nin jûi rang ani; Hannirese, an omchan chu jûi no roi, an misîr ngei hih an mang ngâi loi sikin.
4 for they bind together burdens [too] heavy and grievous to bear, and lay [them] on the shoulders of men, but with their finger they will not move them.
Puok arik le apêl intak takngei an siema, mingei chunga an bâng ngâia, aniatachu, ha mingei sanna rangin an kutpârngei luo mang nuom ngâi mak ngei.
5 And all their works they do to be seen by men, and they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
An sintho murdi khom miriem mu rangin kêng an sin ngâi. An machalngei le an bânngei khitna hih Pathien chong miziek ngei hih en ta u, an inrol bâk na! An kâncholiinchuol minvona ngei khom hih en ta u, asei bâk na!
6 they also cherish the first couches at the banquets, and the first seats in the synagogues,
Ruolhoi thona muna munhoi tatakna ngei le synagog ngeia sukmun asa an ngên ngâia;
7 and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Bazar mun ngeia min chubai an mûk le ‘Minchupu’ tia an koingei an minlut ngâia.
8 And you may not be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher—the Christ, and you are all brothers;
Nangni chu ‘Minchupu’ tiin koi ni tet no tunui, urêng korong nin nia, minchupu inkhat mang nin dôn sikin.
9 and you may not call [any] your father on the earth, for one is your Father, who is in the heavens,
Pilchung hin tute O, Pa, ti no roi, Pa inkhat mamang invâna nin dôn sikin.
10 nor may you be called teachers, for one is your teacher—the Christ.
‘Ruoipu’ ti khomin koi ni no tunui. Messiah mang hih nin ruoipu ani sikin.
11 And the greater of you will be your servant,
Nin lâia a roiinpuitak chu nin tîrlâm ani rang ani.
12 and whoever will exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever will humble himself will be exalted.
Tutu a omlien kai chu chîn an ta, a omchîn kai chu minlutin om an tih.”
13 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men, for you do not go in, nor do you permit those going in to enter.
“Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Invân Rêngram inkhâr hah mingei nin khâr pea; nangni laka lût uol mak cheia mi a lût rang ngei khom nin khap ngâi.
14 [[Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you eat up the houses of the widows, and for a pretense make long prayers, because of this you will receive more abundant judgment.]]
Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Meithâingei sum nin sâk pea, mi huongnân asôt zazan chubai nin tho ngâi; masikin nin dûk tuong rik uol ok atih!
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go around the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte, and whenever it may happen—you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves. (Geenna )
Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Mi inkhat insîrna rangin tuikhanglien le ram pumpui nin sir ngâia; a hong inletin chu ha mi hah nangni nêka bâknika dûkmuna se rangin nin tho ngâi! (Geenna )
16 Woe to you, blind guides, who are saying, Whoever may swear by the temple, it is nothing, but whoever may swear by the gold of the temple—is debtor!
Nangni ruoipu mitcho, Tukhom Biekin dêna khomâkinsâm chu ite nâng ngâi maka; aniatachu tukhom Biekina rângkachak dêna khomakinsâm chu anângna aom.” Ti ngâi ngei nin chung arik.
17 Fools and blind! For which [is] greater, the gold, or the temple that is sanctifying the gold?
Mitcho inmôlngei! Imo akâm aom uol, rângkachak mo aninônchu rângkachak inthieng Biekin hah mo?
18 And, Whoever may swear by the altar, it is nothing, but whoever may swear by the gift that is on it—is debtor!
Mapêna Tukhom mâichâm dêna khomakinsâm chu ite anângna omaka, ania mâichâm chunga neinunpêk dêna khomakinsâm chu anângna aom, nin ti sa ngâi.
19 Fools and blind! For which [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that is sanctifying the gift?
Idôra mitcho nin ni! Imo akâmaom uol, neinunpêk minthieng ngâipu mâichâm ha mo, mo neinunpêk ha mo?
20 He therefore who swore by the altar, swears by it, and by all things on it;
Masikin tukhom mâichâm le a chunga neinunpêk aom murdi'n ânsâmdelsa ani.
21 and he who swore by the temple, swears by it, and by Him who is dwelling in it;
Tukhom Biekin dêna khomâkinsâm kaiin chu Biekin leh a sûnga Pathien om hah dênin ân sâm ania;
22 and he who swore by Heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by Him who is sitting on it.
male tukhom invân dêna khomâkinsâm chu Pathien sukmun le a chunga insungpu dênin ân sâm ani.
23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you give tithe of the mint, and the dill, and the cumin, and neglected the weightier things of the Law—judgment, and kindness, and faith; these it was necessary to do, and those not to neglect.
Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Sâkruo avâng ngâi chimungei, lêngmesêr le sâkbakhêr tenah khom sômakhat nin pêk ngâia, hannirese, Balama akâm aom uol, dikna ngei le mulungjûrpuina le iemomna ngei jôm rangin chu lunghâng tho ngâi mak chei. Hi ngei hih nin jôm rang ani, adangngei khom mathân uol loiin.
24 Blind guides! Who are straining out the gnat, and are swallowing the camel.
Ruoipu mitcho ngei! Nin tui nêkna thoihir chu nin rithît minsâia, ania saringsei chu nin movol ngâi ani.
25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you make clean the outside of the cup and the plate, and within they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.
Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Nin kilât le nin mâirâng pêntieng nin minsâia, a sûngtieng chu, inrûksâkna le indînloi nân ai sip ani.
26 Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside of them may also become clean.
Pharisee mitcho ngei! Kilât sûngtieng hah minsâi bak ungla, hanchu apêntieng khom sâi sâng atih!
27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like to whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, and within are full of bones of dead men, and of all uncleanness;
“Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Thân lung, nôtminvâra apêntieng chu en ahoi zata, hannirese, asûngtieng chu ru le ruok athûa sip angha nin ni.
28 so also you outwardly indeed appear to men righteous, and within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Ma anghan mitin mitmua pêntieng chu asa anghan nin inlanga, hannirese, nin sûngtieng chu asarotholna le sietnangeia sipmat nin ni.
29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the graves of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous,
“Nangni Balam minchupungei le Pharisee asarotholngei! Nin chung arik! Dêipungei thân nin sinsiama, midikngei riettit nân lungngei nin minvo ngâia;
30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
male ei richibulngei om lâia han ei lei omsai nikhom senla, dêipungei thisen an musuok han chu inchel no ih, nin ti ngâi.
31 So that you testify to yourselves that you are sons of them who murdered the prophets;
Masikin Dêipungei lei that ngei richia mi nin ni ti nin minlang chak ani.
32 and you fill up the measure of your fathers.
Se ungla, nin richibulngeiin an lei phut hah minzoi roi.
33 Serpents! Brood of vipers! How may you escape from the judgment of Gehenna? (Geenna )
Nangni murûlngei le murûl nâingei! Dûkmuna se ranga jêkmasatna renga inmo jôk thei rangin nin insabei? (Geenna )
34 Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes, and of them you will kill and crucify, and of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and will pursue from city to city,
Masikin nangni ki ril, nin kôm dêipungei, mivârngei, minchupungei juongtîr ka ta, an lâia senkhat chu that nin ta, senkhat chu jêmdel nin ta, senkhat chu synagog ngeia jêm nin ta, khopui ankhat renga khopui ankhata rujûlpai nin tih.
35 that on you may come all the righteous blood being poured out on the earth from the blood of Abel the righteous, to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar:
Masikin midiktak Abel thisen renga Biekin le mâichâm kâra Barakia nâipasal, theiloinaboi, Zakaria nin that thisen tena han, pilchunga midikngei thatna sika dûktuongna chu nin chunga la chul atih.
36 truly I say to you, all these things will come on this generation.
Adiktakin nangni ki ril: ha mingei thatna sika dûktuongna ngei murdi chu atûna mingei chunga chul let atih.
37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that are killing the prophets, and stoning those sent to you, how often I willed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her own chickens under the wings, and you did not will.
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem! Dêipungei thata, Pathien'n no kôma thangthei a hongtîr ngei lung leh a dêng thatpu! Ârpuinu'n ate ngei a mantha nuoia ai opbûm ngâi anghan ni mingei anrêngin voizet mo ka bân nuoia opbûm rang ko bôka, hankhoma nuom mak che!
38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate;
Masikin nin Biekin hah mâkrakin, a korongin om atih.
39 for I say to you, you may not see Me from now on, until you may say, Blessed [is] He who is coming in the Name of the LORD.”
Nangni ki ril, ‘Pumapa riminga hong chu Pathien'n satvur rese,’ nin ti mâka chu atûn renga ni mu nôk khâi no tunui a tia.”
