Matthew 20
1 “For the kingdom of the heavens is like to a man, a householder, who went forth with the morning to hire workmen for his vineyard,
Denn das Himmelreich ist einem Hausherrn gleich, welcher am Morgen früh ausging, um Arbeiter in seinen Weinberg zu dingen.
2 and having agreed with the workmen for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
Und nachdem er mit den Arbeitern um einen Denar für den Tag übereingekommen war, sandte er sie in seinen Weinberg.
3 And having gone forth about the third hour, he saw others standing in the marketplace idle,
Und als er um die dritte Stunde ausging, sah er andere auf dem Markte müßig stehen
4 and to these he said, Go—also you—to the vineyard, and whatever may be righteous I will give you;
und sprach zu diesen: Gehet auch ihr in den Weinberg, und was recht ist, will ich euch geben!
5 and they went away. Again, having gone forth about the sixth and the ninth hour, he did in like manner.
Und sie gingen hin. Wiederum ging er aus um die sechste und um die neunte Stunde und tat ebenso.
6 And about the eleventh hour, having gone forth, he found others standing idle and says to them, Why have you stood here idle all day?
Als er aber um die elfte Stunde ausging, fand er andere dastehen und sprach zu ihnen: Warum steht ihr hier den ganzen Tag müßig?
7 They say to him, Because no one hired us; he says to them, Go—you also—to the vineyard, and whatever may be righteous you will receive.
Sie sprachen zu ihm: Es hat uns niemand gedungen! Er spricht zu ihnen: Gehet auch ihr in den Weinberg, und was recht ist, das werdet ihr empfangen!
8 And evening having come, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, Call the workmen, and pay them the reward, having begun from the last—to the first.
Als es aber Abend geworden war, sprach der Herr des Weinbergs zu seinem Schaffner: Rufe die Arbeiter und bezahle ihnen den Lohn, indem du bei den Letzten anfängst, bis zu den Ersten.
9 And they of about the eleventh hour having come, each received a denarius.
Und es kamen die, welche um die elfte Stunde gedungen worden, und empfingen jeder einen Denar.
10 And the first having come, supposed that they will receive more, and they received, they also, each a denarius,
Als aber die Ersten kamen, meinten sie, sie würden mehr empfangen; da empfingen auch sie jeder einen Denar.
11 and having received [it], they were murmuring against the householder, saying,
Und als sie ihn empfangen, murrten sie wider den Hausherrn
12 that, These, the last, worked one hour, and you made them equal to us, who were bearing the burden of the day—and the heat.
und sprachen: Diese Letzten haben nur eine Stunde gearbeitet, und du hast sie uns gleich gemacht, die wir des Tages Last und Hitze getragen haben.
13 And he answering said to one of them, Friend, I do no unrighteousness to you; did you not agree with me for a denarius?
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu einem unter ihnen: Freund, ich tue dir nicht Unrecht. Bist du nicht um einen Denar mit mir übereingekommen?
14 Take that which is yours, and go; and I will to give to this, the last, also as to you;
Nimm das Deine und gehe hin! Ich will aber diesem Letzten so viel geben wie dir.
15 is it not lawful to me to do what I will in my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?
Habe ich nicht Macht, mit dem Meinen zu tun, was ich will? Oder siehst du darum scheel, daß ich so gütig bin?
16 So the last will be first, and the first last, for many are called, and few chosen.”
Also werden die Letzten die Ersten und die Ersten die Letzten sein. [Denn viele sind berufen, aber wenige auserwählt.]
17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples by themselves in the way and said to them,
Und als Jesus nach Jerusalem hinaufzog, nahm er die Zwölf auf dem Wege beiseite und sprach zu ihnen:
18 “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes,
Siehe, wir ziehen hinauf nach Jerusalem; und des Menschen Sohn wird den Hohenpriestern und Schriftgelehrten überantwortet, und sie werden ihn zum Tode verurteilen
19 and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify, and the third day He will rise again.”
und werden ihn den Heiden überantworten, ihn zu verspotten und zu geißeln und zu kreuzigen; und am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen.
20 Then came near to Him the mother of the sons of Zebedee, with her sons, prostrating and asking something from Him,
Da trat die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus mit ihren Söhnen zu ihm, fiel ihm zu Füßen, um etwas von ihm zu erbitten.
21 and He said to her, “What do you will?” She says to Him, “Say that they may sit—these two sons of mine—one on Your right hand and one on the left, in Your kingdom.”
Er aber sprach zu ihr: Was willst du? Sie sagt zu ihm: Sprich, daß diese meine beiden Söhne einer zur Rechten, der andere zu deiner Linken sitzen sollen in deinem Reiche.
22 And Jesus answering said, “You have not known what you ask for yourselves; are you able to drink of the cup that I am about to drink? And with the immersion that I am immersed with, to be immersed?” They say to Him, “We are able.”
Aber Jesus antwortete und sprach: Ihr wisset nicht, um was ihr bittet! Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke? Sie sprechen zu ihm: Wir können es!
23 And He says to them, “Of My cup indeed you will drink, and with the immersion that I am immersed with you will be immersed; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but—to those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.”
Und er spricht zu ihnen: Ihr werdet zwar meinen Kelch trinken; aber das Sitzen zu meiner Rechten und zu meiner Linken zu verleihen, steht nicht mir zu; sondern es wird denen zuteil, welchen es von meinem Vater bereitet ist.
24 And the ten having heard, were much displeased with the two brothers,
Und als die Zehn das hörten, wurden sie unwillig über die beiden Brüder.
25 and Jesus having called them near, said, “You have known that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship over them, and those [who are] great exercise authority over them,
Aber Jesus rief sie herzu und sprach: Ihr wisset, daß die Fürsten der Völker sie unterjochen, und daß die Großen sie vergewaltigen;
26 but not so will it be among you, but whoever may will among you to become great, let him be your servant;
unter euch aber soll es nicht so sein, sondern wer unter euch groß werden will, der sei euer Diener;
27 and whoever may will among you to be first, let him be your servant;
und wer unter euch der Erste sein will, der sei euer Knecht,
28 even as the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life [as] a ransom for many.”
gleichwie des Menschen Sohn nicht gekommen ist, sich dienen zu lassen, sondern damit er diene und sein Leben gebe zum Lösegeld für viele.
29 And they going forth from Jericho, there followed Him a great multitude,
Und als sie von Jericho auszogen, folgte ihm eine große Volksmenge nach.
30 and behold, two blind men sitting by the way, having heard that Jesus passes by, cried, saying, “Deal kindly with us, Lord—Son of David.”
Und siehe, zwei Blinde saßen am Wege; als sie hörten, daß Jesus vorüberziehe, schrieen sie und sprachen: Herr, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich unser!
31 And the multitude charged them that they might be silent, and they cried out the more, saying, “Deal kindly with us Lord—Son of David.”
Aber das Volk bedrohte sie, sie sollten schweigen. Sie aber schrieen nur noch mehr und sprachen: Herr, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich unser!
32 And having stood, Jesus called them and said, “What do you will [that] I may do to you?”
Und Jesus stand still, rief sie und sprach: Was wollt ihr, daß ich euch tun soll?
33 They say to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened”;
Sie sagten zu ihm: Herr, daß unsere Augen geöffnet werden!
34 and having been moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
Da erbarmte sich Jesus ihrer und rührte ihre Augen an, und alsbald sahen sie wieder und folgten ihm nach.
