Matthew 18
1 At that hour the disciples came near to Jesus, saying, “Who, now, is greater in the kingdom of the heavens?”
Naquela hora os discípulos se aproximaram de Jesus, e perguntaram: Ora, quem é o maior no Reino dos céus?
2 And Jesus having called near a child, set him in the midst of them,
Então Jesus chamou a si uma criança, e a pôs no meio deles,
3 and said, “Truly I say to you, if you may not be turned and become as the children, you may not enter into the kingdom of the heavens;
e disse: Em verdade vos digo, que se vós não converterdes, e fordes como crianças, de maneira nenhuma entrareis no Reino dos céus.
4 whoever then may humble himself as this child, he is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens.
Assim, qualquer um que for humilde como esta criança, este é o maior no reino dos céus.
5 And he who may receive one such child in My Name, receives Me,
E qualquer um que receber a uma criança como esta em meu nome, recebe a mim.
6 and whoever may cause to stumble one of those little ones who are believing in Me, it is better for him that a weighty millstone may be hanged on his neck, and he may be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Mas qualquer um que conduzir ao pecado a um destes pequeninos que creem em mim, melhor lhe fora que uma grande pedra de moinho lhe fosse pendurada ao pescoço, e se afundasse no fundo do mar.
7 Woe to the world from the stumbling-blocks! For there is necessity for the stumbling-blocks to come, but woe to that man through whom the stumbling-block comes!
Ai do mundo por causa das tentações do pecado! Pois é necessário que as tentações venham, mas ai da pessoa por quem a tentação vem!
8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut them off and cast [them] from you; it is good for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the continuous fire. (aiōnios g166)
Portanto, se a tua mão ou o teu pé te faz pecar, corta-os, e lança-os de ti; melhor te é entrar aleijado ou manco na vida do que, tendo duas mãos ou dois pés, ser lançado no fogo eterno. (aiōnios g166)
9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast from you; it is good for you to enter into life one-eyed, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna g1067)
E se o teu olho te faz pecar, arranca-o, e lança-o de ti. Melhor te é entrar com um olho na vida do que, tendo dois olhos, ser lançado no inferno de fogo. (Geenna g1067)
10 Beware! You may not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their messengers in the heavens always behold the face of My Father who is in the heavens,
Olhai para que não desprezeis a algum destes pequeninos; porque eu vos digo que os seus anjos nos céus sempre veem a face do meu Pai, que [está] nos céus.
11 [[for the Son of Man came to save the lost.]]
12 What do you think? If a man may have one hundred sheep, and there may go astray one of them, does he not—having left the ninety-nine, having gone on the mountains—seek that which is gone astray?
Que vos parece? Se alguém tivesse cem ovelhas, e uma delas se desviasse, por acaso não iria ele pelos montes, deixando as noventa e nove, em busca da desviada?
13 And if it may come to pass that he finds it, truly I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray;
E se acontecesse de achá-la, em verdade vos digo que ele se alegra mais daquela, do que das noventa e nove que se não desviaram.
14 so it is not [the] will in [the] presence of your Father who is in the heavens that one of these little ones may perish.
Da mesma maneira, não é da vontade do vosso Pai, que [está] nos céus, que um sequer destes pequeninos se perca.
15 And if your brother may sin against you, go and show him his fault between you and him alone, if he may hear you, you gained your brother;
Porém, se teu irmão pecar, vai repreendê-lo entre ti e ele só; se te ouvir, ganhaste o teu irmão.
16 and if he may not hear, take with you yet one or two, that by the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may stand.
Mas se não ouvir, toma ainda contigo um ou dois, para que toda palavra se confirme pela boca de duas ou três testemunhas.
17 And if he may not hear them, say [it] to the assembly, and if also the assembly he may not hear, let him be to you as the heathen man and the tax collector.
E se não lhes der ouvidos, comunica à igreja; e se também não der ouvidos à igreja, considera-o como gentio e publicano.
18 Truly I say to you, whatever things you may bind on the earth will be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever things you may loose on the earth will be having been loosed in the heavens.
Em verdade vos digo que tudo o que vós ligardes na terra será ligado no céu; e tudo o que desligardes na terra será desligado no céu.
19 Again, I say to you that if two of you may agree on the earth concerning anything, whatever they may ask—it will be done to them from My Father who is in the heavens,
E digo-vos tambémem verdade que, se dois de vós concordarem na terra acerca de qualquer coisa que pedirem, isso lhes será feito por meu Pai, que [está] nos céus.
20 for where there are two or three gathered together—to My Name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Pois onde dois ou três estiverem reunidos em meu nome, ali eu estou no meio deles.
21 Then Peter having come near to Him, said, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him—until seven times?”
Então Pedro aproximou-se, e perguntou-lhe: Senhor, até quantas vezes meu irmão pecará contra mim, e eu lhe perdoarei? Até sete?
22 Jesus says to him, “I do not say to you until seven times, but until seventy times seven.
Jesus lhe respondeu: Eu não te digo até sete, mas sim até setenta vezes sete.
23 Because of this was the kingdom of the heavens likened to a man, a king, who willed to take reckoning with his servants,
Por isso o Reino dos céus é comparável a um certo rei, que quis fazer acerto de contas com os seus servos.
24 and he having begun to take account, there was brought near to him one debtor of a myriad of talents,
E começando a fazer acerto de contas, foi-lhe apresentado um que lhe devia dez mil talentos.
25 and he having nothing to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and the children, and all, whatever he had, and payment to be made.
Como ele não tinha com que pagar, o seu senhor mandou que ele, sua mulher, filhos, e tudo quanto tinha fossem vendidos para se fazer o pagamento.
26 The servant then, having fallen down, was prostrating to him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you all;
Então aquele servo caiu e ficou prostrado diante dele, dizendo: “Tem paciência comigo, e tudo te pagarei”.
27 and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion released him, and the debt he forgave him.
O senhor daquele servo compadeceu-se dele, então o soltou e lhe perdoou a dívida.
28 And that servant having come forth, found one of his fellow-servants who was owing him one hundred denarii, and having laid hold, he took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which you owe.
Todavia, depois daquele servo sair, achou um companheiro de serviço seu, que lhe devia cem denários; então o agarrou e o sufocou, dizendo: “Paga o que [me] deves!”
29 His fellow-servant then, having fallen down at his feet, was calling on him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you all;
Então o seu colega se prostrou, e lhe suplicou, dizendo: “Tem paciência comigo, e tudo te pagarei”.
30 and he would not, but having gone away, he cast him into prison, until he might pay that which was owing.
Mas ele não quis. Em vez disso foi lançá-lo na prisão até que pagasse a dívida.
31 And his fellow-servants having seen the things that were done, were grieved exceedingly, and having come, showed fully to their lord all the things that were done;
Quando os seus companheiros de serviço viram o que se passava, entristeceram-se muito. Então vieram denunciar ao seu senhor tudo o que havia se passado.
32 then having called him, his lord says to him, Evil servant! All that debt I forgave you, seeing you called on me;
Assim o seu senhor o chamou, e lhe disse: “Servo mau! Toda aquela dívida te perdoei, porque me suplicaste.
33 did it not seem necessary to you to have dealt kindly with your fellow servant, as I also dealt kindly with you?
Não tinhas tu a obrigação de ter tido misericórdia do sevo colega teu, assim como eu tive misericórdia de ti?”
34 And having been angry, his lord delivered him to the inquisitors, until he might pay all that was owing to him;
E, enfurecido, o seu senhor o entregou aos torturadores até que pagasse tudo o que lhe devia.
35 so also My heavenly Father will do to you, if you may not forgive each one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.”
Assim também meu Pai celestial vos fará, se não perdoardes de coração cada um ao seu irmão.
