Matthew 18
1 At that hour the disciples came near to Jesus, saying, “Who, now, is greater in the kingdom of the heavens?”
In jener Stunde traten die Jünger zu Jesus und sagten: wer ist wohl der größte im Reich der Himmel?
2 And Jesus having called near a child, set him in the midst of them,
Und er rief ein Kind herbei, stellte es mitten unter sie und sprach:
3 and said, “Truly I say to you, if you may not be turned and become as the children, you may not enter into the kingdom of the heavens;
Wahrlich, ich sage euch, so ihr nicht umkehrt und werdet wie die Kinder, werdet ihr nimmermehr in das Reich der Himmel eingehen;
4 whoever then may humble himself as this child, he is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens.
wer sich also erniedrigt, wie dieses Kind, der ist der größte im Reich der Himmel.
5 And he who may receive one such child in My Name, receives Me,
Und wer ein solches Kind aufnimmt auf meinen Namen, nimmt mich auf.
6 and whoever may cause to stumble one of those little ones who are believing in Me, it is better for him that a weighty millstone may be hanged on his neck, and he may be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Wer aber einen von diesen Kleinen, die an mich glauben, ärgert, dem wäre es besser, es würde ihm ein Mühlstein um den Hals gehängt, und er würde in die Tiefe des Meeres versenkt.
7 Woe to the world from the stumbling-blocks! For there is necessity for the stumbling-blocks to come, but woe to that man through whom the stumbling-block comes!
Wehe der Welt der Aergernisse halber; denn die Aergernisse müssen kommen - doch wehe dem Menschen, durch welchen das Aergernis kommt.
8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut them off and cast [them] from you; it is good for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the continuous fire. (aiōnios g166)
Wenn aber deine Hand oder dein Fuß dich ärgert, so haue ihn ab und wirf ihn weg; es ist dir besser, in das Leben einzugehen verstümmelt oder lahm, als mit zwei Händen oder zwei Füßen in das ewige Feuer geworfen zu werden. (aiōnios g166)
9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast from you; it is good for you to enter into life one-eyed, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna g1067)
Und wenn dein Auge dich ärgert, so reiß es heraus und wirf es weg; es ist dir besser, einäugig in das Leben einzugehen, als mit zwei Augen in die Feuerhölle geworfen zu werden. (Geenna g1067)
10 Beware! You may not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their messengers in the heavens always behold the face of My Father who is in the heavens,
Sehet zu, daß ihr nicht eines von diesen Kleinen geringschätzet, denn ich sage euch, ihre Engel in den Himmeln sehen allezeit das Antlitz meines Vaters in den Himmeln.
11 [[for the Son of Man came to save the lost.]]
Denn des Menschen Sohn ist gekommen, das Verlorene zu retten.
12 What do you think? If a man may have one hundred sheep, and there may go astray one of them, does he not—having left the ninety-nine, having gone on the mountains—seek that which is gone astray?
Was dünket euch? Wenn ein Mensch hundert Schafe hat und eines von ihnen verirrt sich, läßt er nicht die neunundneunzig auf den Bergen, geht hin und sucht das verirrte?
13 And if it may come to pass that he finds it, truly I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray;
Und wenn es ihm gelingt, dasselbe zu finden, wahrlich, ich sage euch, so freut er sich darüber mehr als über die neunundneunzig, die sich nicht verirrt haben.
14 so it is not [the] will in [the] presence of your Father who is in the heavens that one of these little ones may perish.
So ist es nicht der Wille meines Vaters in den Himmeln, daß eines von diesen Kleinen verloren gehe.
15 And if your brother may sin against you, go and show him his fault between you and him alone, if he may hear you, you gained your brother;
Wenn aber dein Bruder fehlt, so gehe hin und weise ihn zurecht unter vier Augen; hört er dich, so hast du deinen Bruder gewonnen;
16 and if he may not hear, take with you yet one or two, that by the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may stand.
hört er aber nicht, so nimm noch einen oder zwei dazu, damit auf zweier oder dreier Zeugen Mund jede Sache festgestellt werde.
17 And if he may not hear them, say [it] to the assembly, and if also the assembly he may not hear, let him be to you as the heathen man and the tax collector.
Hört er nicht auf sie, so sage es der Gemeinde; hört er aber auch auf die Gemeinde nicht, so sei er dir wie der Heide und der Zöllner.
18 Truly I say to you, whatever things you may bind on the earth will be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever things you may loose on the earth will be having been loosed in the heavens.
Wahrlich, ich sage euch, was ihr bindet auf der Erde, wird im Himmel gebunden sein, und was ihr löset auf der Erde, wird im Himmel gelöst sein.
19 Again, I say to you that if two of you may agree on the earth concerning anything, whatever they may ask—it will be done to them from My Father who is in the heavens,
Wiederum sage ich euch: wenn zwei von euch eins werden auf der Erde über irgend eine Sache, darum zu bitten, so wird es ihnen werden von meinem Vater in den Himmeln.
20 for where there are two or three gathered together—to My Name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Denn wo zwei oder drei versammelt sind auf meinen Namen, da bin ich mitten unter ihnen.
21 Then Peter having come near to Him, said, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him—until seven times?”
Hierauf trat Petrus herzu und sagte zu ihm: Herr, wie oft kann mein Bruder gegen mich fehlen, und ich soll ihm vergeben? Geht es bis siebenmal?
22 Jesus says to him, “I do not say to you until seven times, but until seventy times seven.
Sagt Jesus zu ihm: ich sage Dir: nicht bis siebenmal, sondern bis siebenzigmal siebenmal.
23 Because of this was the kingdom of the heavens likened to a man, a king, who willed to take reckoning with his servants,
Darum gleicht das Reich der Himmel einem Könige, der mit seinen Dienern Rechnung halten wollte.
24 and he having begun to take account, there was brought near to him one debtor of a myriad of talents,
Da er aber anfieng zu rechnen, so wurde einer vor ihn geführt, der zehntausend Talente schuldig war.
25 and he having nothing to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and the children, and all, whatever he had, and payment to be made.
Da er aber nicht hatte zu bezahlen, so befahl der Herr ihn zu verkaufen samt Weib und Kind, und alles was er hatte, und so Bezahlung zu schaffen.
26 The servant then, having fallen down, was prostrating to him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you all;
Da warf sich der Knecht nieder, beugte sich vor ihm und sagte: habe Geduld mit mir, so will ich dir alles bezahlen.
27 and the lord of that servant having been moved with compassion released him, and the debt he forgave him.
Der Herr aber hatte Mitleid mit dem Knecht, und ließ ihn los, und die Schuld erließ er ihm.
28 And that servant having come forth, found one of his fellow-servants who was owing him one hundred denarii, and having laid hold, he took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which you owe.
Wie aber dieser Knecht hinausgieng, stieß er auf einen seiner Mitknechte, der ihm hundert Denare schuldig war, und er faßte ihn, würgte ihn und sagte: zahle, was du schuldig bist.
29 His fellow-servant then, having fallen down at his feet, was calling on him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you all;
Da warf sich sein Mitknecht nieder und bat ihn: habe Geduld mit mir, so will ich dir bezahlen.
30 and he would not, but having gone away, he cast him into prison, until he might pay that which was owing.
Er aber wollte nicht, sondern gieng hin und ließ ihn ins Gefängnis werfen, bis er die Schuld bezahle.
31 And his fellow-servants having seen the things that were done, were grieved exceedingly, and having come, showed fully to their lord all the things that were done;
Da nun seine Mitknechte sahen, was vorgieng, bekümmerten sie sich sehr und giengen und meldeten ihrem Herrn alles, was vorgegangen.
32 then having called him, his lord says to him, Evil servant! All that debt I forgave you, seeing you called on me;
Hierauf rief ihn sein Herr herbei und sagt zu ihm: Du böser Knecht, diese ganze Schuld habe ich dir erlassen, da du mich batest;
33 did it not seem necessary to you to have dealt kindly with your fellow servant, as I also dealt kindly with you?
mußtest du nicht auch deines Mitknechtes dich erbarmen, wie ich mich deiner auch erbarmte?
34 And having been angry, his lord delivered him to the inquisitors, until he might pay all that was owing to him;
Und im Zorn übergab ihn sein Herr den Folterknechten, bis er ihm die ganze Schuld bezahle.
35 so also My heavenly Father will do to you, if you may not forgive each one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.”
So wird auch mein himmlischer Vater euch thun, wenn ihr nicht vergebet, jeder seinem Bruder, von Herzen.
