Matthew 11
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus finished directing His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.
യേശു തന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാർക്ക് ഈ നിർദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകിത്തീർത്തതിനുശേഷം, ഗലീലയിൽത്തന്നെയുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതിനും പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതിനുമായി അവിടെനിന്നു യാത്രയായി.
2 And John having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples,
കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ അടയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ “വരാനുള്ള മശിഹാ അങ്ങുതന്നെയോ? അതോ, ഞങ്ങൾ ഇനിയും മറ്റൊരാളെ കാത്തിരിക്കണമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിക്കാൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.
3 said to Him, “Are You He who is coming, or do we look for another?”
4 And Jesus answering said to them, “Having gone, declare to John the things that you hear and see,
യേശു അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുകയും കാണുകയുംചെയ്യുന്ന ഇക്കാര്യങ്ങൾ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് യോഹന്നാനെ അറിയിക്കുക:
5 blind receive sight, and lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and deaf hear, dead are raised, and poor have good news proclaimed,
അന്ധർക്കു കാഴ്ച ലഭിക്കുന്നു, മുടന്തർ നടക്കുന്നു, കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ സൗഖ്യമാകുന്നു, ബധിരർ കേൾക്കുന്നു, മരിച്ചവർ ഉയിർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, ദരിദ്രരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു.
6 and blessed is he who may not be stumbled in Me.”
എന്നിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിൽനിന്ന് വ്യതിചലിക്കാതെ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 And as they are going, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out to the wilderness to view? A reed shaken by the wind?
യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവിടെനിന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ യേശു യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചു ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്തുകാണാനാണ് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പോയത്? കാറ്റിൽ ആടിയുലയുന്ന ഞാങ്ങണയോ?
8 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those wearing the soft things are in the kings’ houses.
അതോ, മൃദുലചണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുന്നതിനോ? അല്ല, മൃദുലചണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുന്നവർ രാജകൊട്ടാരങ്ങളിൽ അല്ലയോ ഉള്ളത്?
9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet,
പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്തുകാണാനാണു പോയത്? ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെയോ? അതേ, ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനെത്തന്നെ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു.
10 for this is he of whom it has been written: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.
“‘ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പാകെ എന്റെ സന്ദേശവാഹകനെ അയയ്ക്കും, നിന്റെ മുമ്പേ അയാൾ നിനക്കു വഴിയൊരുക്കും.’ എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത് യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്.
11 Truly I say to you, there has not risen, among those born of women, [one] greater than John the Immerser, but he who is least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
‘സ്ത്രീകളിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരിൽ യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകനെക്കാൾ മഹാൻ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; എന്നാൽ സ്വർഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവൻപോലും അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കാൾ മഹാൻ ആകുന്നു’ എന്നു നിശ്ചയമായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
12 And from the days of John the Immerser until now, the kingdom of the heavens suffers violence, and violent men seize it by force,
യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകന്റെ കാലംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും സ്വർഗരാജ്യം ക്രൂരപീഡനത്തിന് വിധേയമായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, പീഡകർ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു;
13 for all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,
സകലപ്രവചനഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളും ന്യായപ്രമാണവും യോഹന്നാന്റെ സമയംവരെ പ്രവചിച്ചു.
14 and if you are willing to receive [it], he is Elijah who was about to come;
ഇത് അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, ‘വരാനിരിക്കുന്നവൻ’ എന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞ ഏലിയാവ് ഈ യോഹന്നാൻതന്നെയാണ്.
15 he who is having ears to hear—let him hear.
ചെവിയുള്ളവരെല്ലാം കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ!
16 And to what will I liken this generation? It is like little children in marketplaces, sitting and calling to others,
“ഈ തലമുറയെ ഞാൻ എന്തിനോടു താരതമ്യംചെയ്യും? “‘ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി ആഹ്ലാദരാഗം കുഴലിൽമീട്ടി, നിങ്ങളോ നൃത്തംചെയ്തില്ല; ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു വിലാപഗീതം ആലപിച്ചു, നിങ്ങളോ വിലപിച്ചില്ല,’ എന്ന് ചന്തസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലിരുന്ന് മറ്റുള്ളവരോടു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞ് പരിഭവിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികളെപ്പോലെയാണ് ഈ തലമുറ.
17 and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance, we lamented to you, and you did not strike the breast.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon;
ഭക്ഷണപാനീയങ്ങളിൽ വർജനം ആചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ വന്നപ്പോൾ ‘അയാൾ ഭൂതബാധിതനാണ്,’ എന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നു.
19 the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a man, a glutton, and a wine-drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners; and wisdom was justified of her children.”
മനുഷ്യപുത്രനാകട്ടെ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവനായി വന്നു; അപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, ‘അമിതഭക്ഷണപ്രിയനും കുടിയനുമായ ഒരുവൻ, നികുതിപിരിവുകാരുടെയും കുപ്രസിദ്ധപാപികളുടെയും ചങ്ങാതി!’ എന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നു. ദൈവികജ്ഞാനം, അതു പ്രവൃത്തിപഥത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിലൂടെ പ്രത്യക്ഷമാകുന്നു.”
20 Then He began to reproach the cities in which were done most of His mighty works, because they did not convert.
തുടർന്ന്, യേശു തന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളിൽ അധികവും പ്രവർത്തിച്ച പട്ടണങ്ങൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവയെ ശാസിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി:
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because, if in Tyre and Sidon had been done the mighty works that were done in you, long ago in sackcloth and ashes they had converted;
“ഹേ കോരസീൻ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം! ബേത്ത്സയിദയേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം! നിങ്ങളിൽ ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ സോർ, സീദോൻ എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവർ പണ്ടുതന്നെ ചാക്കുശീല ഉടുത്തും ചാരത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നും വിലപിച്ചു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.
22 but I say to you, to Tyre and Sidon it will be more tolerable in [the] day of judgment than for you.
എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ സോർ, സീദോൻ നിവാസികൾക്കുണ്ടാകുന്ന അനുഭവം നിങ്ങളുടേതിനെക്കാൾ ഏറെ സഹനീയമായിരിക്കും.
23 And you, Capernaum, which were exalted to Heaven, will be brought down to Hades, because if the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it had remained to this day; (Hadēs g86)
കഫാർനഹൂമേ, നീ ആകാശംവരെ ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല, നീ പാതാളംവരെ താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും. നിന്നിൽ നടന്ന അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ സൊദോമിൽ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അത് ഇന്നും നിലനിൽക്കുമായിരുന്നു. (Hadēs g86)
24 but I say to you, to the land of Sodom it will be more tolerable in [the] day of judgment than to you.”
ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ സൊദോം നിവാസികൾക്കുണ്ടായ അനുഭവം നിങ്ങളുടേതിനെക്കാൾ ഏറെ സഹനീയമായിരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
25 At that time Jesus answering said, “I confess to You, Father, Lord of the heavens and of the earth, that You hid these things from wise and understanding ones, and revealed them to babies.
അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ യേശു: “പിതാവേ, സ്വർഗത്തിന്റെയും ഭൂമിയുടെയും നാഥാ, അവിടന്ന് ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ വിജ്ഞാനികൾക്കും മനീഷികൾക്കും മറച്ചുവെച്ചിട്ട് ശിശുതുല്യരായവർക്ക് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
26 Yes, Father, because so it was good pleasure before You.
അതേ, ഇതായിരുന്നല്ലോ പിതാവേ അവിടത്തേക്കു പ്രസാദകരം!
27 All things were delivered to Me by My Father, and none know the Son, except the Father, nor does any know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son may resolve to reveal [Him].
“എന്റെ പിതാവു സകലകാര്യങ്ങളും എന്നെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പിതാവല്ലാതെ ആരും പുത്രനെ യഥാർഥത്തിൽ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പുത്രനും പിതാവിനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കാൻ പുത്രൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരുമല്ലാതെ ആരും പിതാവിനെ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 Come to Me, all you laboring and burdened ones, and I will give you rest;
“ക്ഷീണിതരേ, ഭാരംചുമക്കുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരിക, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ആശ്വാസം നൽകും.
29 take up My yoke on you, and learn from Me, because I am meek and humble in heart, and you will find rest to your souls,
ഞാൻ സൗമ്യനും വിനീതഹൃദയനും ആയതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ നുകം നിങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് എന്നോട് പഠിക്കുക; എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണന് വിശ്രമം കണ്ടെത്തും.
30 for My yoke [is] easy, and My burden is light.”
എന്റെ നുകം മൃദുവും എന്റെ ഭാരം ലഘുവും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ!”
