Matthew 10
1 And having called His twelve disciples to Himself, He gave to them power over unclean spirits, so as to be casting them out, and to be healing every disease and every sickness.
| ישוע קרא אליו את שנים־עשר תלמידיו ונתן להם כוח לגרש רוחות רעות ולרפא כל מיני מחלות. |
2 And of the twelve apostles the names are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James of Zebedee, and his brother John;
| אלה שמותיהם של שנים־עשר התלמידים: שמעון (הנקרא גם פטרוס), אַנְדְּרֵי (אחיו של שמעון), יעקב (בנו של זבדי), יוחנן (אחיו של יעקב), |
3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector; James of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was surnamed Thaddeus;
| פיליפוס, בר־תלמי, תומא, מתתיהו (גובה המכס), יעקב (בן־חלפי), תדי, |
4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered Him up.
| שמעון (מחבורת”הקנאים“), ויהודה איש קריות (זה שהסגיר את ישוע). |
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, having given command to them, saying, “Do not go away to the way of the nations, and do not go into a city of the Samaritans,
| ישוע נתן להם את ההוראות הבאות:”אל תלכו אל הגויים או אל השומרונים, |
6 and be going rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
| כי אם אל הצאן התועה של עם ישראל בלבד. |
7 And going on, proclaim, saying that the kingdom of the heavens has come near;
| לכו וספרו להם שמלכות השמים קרובה. |
8 be healing [those] ailing, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, casting out demons—freely you received, freely give.
| רפאו את החולים, הקימו את המתים לתחייה, רפאו את המצורעים וגרשו את השדים. אתם קיבלתם הכול חינם אין כסף, לכן אל תדרשו תמורה בעד שירותכם! |
9 Do not provide gold, nor silver, nor brass in your girdles,
| ”אל תיקחו איתכם זהב, כסף או נחושת. |
10 nor leather pouch for the way, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staff—for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.
| אל תיקחו תרמיל עם בגדים להחלפה, לא נעלים ואף לא מקל הליכה. האנשים שתעזרו להם ידאגו לכם ויטפלו בכם. |
11 And into whatever city or village you may enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and abide there, until you may go forth.
| בבואכם לעיר או לכפר, חפשו שם בן אדם טוב והישארו בביתו עד שיגיע הזמן ללכת לעיר אחרת. |
12 And coming into the house greet it,
| כשתכנסו אל הבית, קודם כל ברכו אותו בשלום. |
13 and if indeed the house is worthy, let your peace come on it; and if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
| אם זהו ביתם של אנשים טובים, הברכה תתקיים; ואם אין אלה אנשים טובים, הברכה תשוב אליכם. |
14 And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words, coming forth from that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet,
| בכל עיר או בית שבהם לא יקבלו אתכם, נערו את אבק המקום מעל רגליכם ולכו לדרככם. |
15 truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
| אני אומר לכם: אף לסדום ועמורה יהיה קל יותר ביום־הדין מאשר לערים אלה. |
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, therefore be wise as the serpents, and pure as the doves.
| ”אני שולח אתכם כמו כבשים בין זאבים. לכן היו ערמומיים כנחשים ותמימים כיונים. |
17 And take heed of men, for they will give you up to Sanhedrins, and in their synagogues they will scourge you,
| אולם היזהרו! כי עלולים לאסור ולשפוט אתכם ולהלקות אתכם בשוטים בבתי־הכנסת. |
18 and before governors and kings you will be brought for My sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
| כן, יהיה עליכם להישפט לפני מלכים ומושלים בגללי, אולם זאת תהיה לכם הזדמנות לספר להם ולעולם כולו על אודותיי. |
19 And whenever they may deliver you up, do not be anxious how or what you may speak, for it will be given you in that hour what you will speak;
| ”כשיאסרו אתכם, אל תדאגו למה שתגידו במשפט, כי אני אשים בפיכם את המילים הנכונות בזמן הנכון, |
20 for you are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father that is speaking in you.
| וכך לא אתם תדברו, כי אם רוח אביכם שבשמים ידבר בפיכם. |
21 And brother will deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children will rise up against parents, and will put them to death,
| ”אח יבגוד באחיו ויסגירו למוות; אבות ימסרו את בניהם למוות; ילדים יקומו נגד הוריהם וייגרמו למותם. |
22 and you will be hated by all because of My Name, but he who has endured to the end, he will be saved.
| כולם ישנאו אתכם משום שאתם שייכים לי, אולם כל מי שיחזיק מעמד עד הסוף – ייוושע! |
23 And whenever they may persecute you in this city, flee to the other, for truly I say to you, you may not have finished [going through] the cities of Israel until the Son of Man may come.
| ”אם רודפים אתכם ומציקים לכם בעיר אחת – ברחו לעיר אחרת. לא תספיקו לעבור בין כל הערים עד שבן־האדם יחזור. |
24 A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord;
| תלמיד איננו גדול ממורו, ועבד אינו מכובד מאדוניו. |
25 sufficient to the disciple that he may be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord; if the master of the house they called Beelzebul, how much more those of his household?
| התלמיד משתתף בגורל מורו, ומה שיקרה לאדון יקרה גם לעבד. ואם לי, האדון, קראו’בעל־זבוב‘(אדון השדים), אין ספק שכך יקראו גם לכם. |
26 You may not, therefore, fear them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hid that will not be known;
| אולם אל תפחדו מאלה שמאיימים עליכם, כי יבוא הזמן שהאמת תצא לאור, וכולם יוכלו לראות את מזימות הסתר שלהם. |
27 that which I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light, and that which you hear at the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
| ”מה שאני אומר לכם בחושך, לכו והכריזו אותו באור היום. ומה שאני לוחש באוזניכם, השמיעו בקול מעל גגות הבתים. |
28 And do not be afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
| ”אל תפחדו מאלה היכולים להרוג את גופכם בלבד, אולם אינם מסוגלים לפגוע בנפשכם! עליכם לפחוד רק מאלוהים היכול להשמיד גם את הגוף וגם את הנפש בגיהינום. (Geenna g1067) |
29 Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? And one of them will not fall on the ground without your Father;
| אף ציפור דרור (הנמכרת בזול) לא תיפול על הארץ בלי שאביכם שבשמים ידע זאת. |
30 and of you—even the hairs of the head are all numbered;
| אלוהים יודע אף את מספר השערות שעל ראשכם! |
31 therefore, do not be afraid, you are better than many sparrows.
| לכן אל תפחדו! אתם יקרים לאלוהים יותר מציפורים רבות. |
32 Everyone, therefore, who will confess in Me before men, I also will confess in him before My Father who is in the heavens;
| ”כל המכיר בי לפני בני־אדם, גם אני אכיר בו לפני אבי שבשמים. |
33 and whoever will deny Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father who is in the heavens.
| אולם אם מישהו טוען שאינו מכיר אותי, גם אני לא אכיר בו לפני אבי שבשמים. |
34 You may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword;
| ”אל תחשבו שבאתי להשכין שלום בארץ! לא שלום, כי אם חרב. |
35 for I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,
| באתי להמריד בן באביו ובת באמה, ולגרום לכלה למרוד בחמותה. |
36 and the enemies of a man are those of his household.
| אויביו הגדולים של האדם יהיו דווקא בני־ביתו. |
37 He who is cherishing father or mother above Me, is not worthy of Me, and he who is cherishing son or daughter above Me, is not worthy of Me,
| אם אתה אוהב את אביך ואת אמך יותר ממני, אינך ראוי להיות תלמידי. ואם אתה אוהב את בנך או את בתך יותר ממני, אינך ראוי לי. |
38 and whoever does not receive his cross and follow after Me, is not worthy of Me.
| אם אינך מוכן לשאת את צלבך וללכת אחרי, אינך ראוי לי. |
39 He who found his life will lose it, and he who lost his life for My sake will find it.
| ”מי שרוצה לשמור על חייו – יאבד אותם, ואם יהיה מוכן לוותר על חייו למעני – ימצא אותם. |
40 He who is receiving you receives Me, and he who is receiving Me receives Him who sent Me;
| ”מי שמקבל אתכם בשמחה – מקבל אותי. ומי שמקבל אותי – מקבל גם את האלוהים ששלח אותי. |
41 he who is receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet, will receive a prophet’s reward, and he who is receiving a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, will receive a righteous man’s reward,
| אם תקבלו בשמחה נביא, משום שהוא איש אלוהים – תקבלו אותו שכר בשמים שמקבל הנביא. ואם תקבלו אנשים טובים וצדיקים, משום שהם אוהבים את ה׳ – תקבלו אותו השכר שהם מקבלים. |
42 and whoever may give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he may not lose his reward.”
| ואם בתור תלמידי תתנו לילד קטן כוס מים קרים, אני מבטיח לכם שתקבלו שכר משמעותי על כך.“ |
