18 And of Jesus Christ, the birth was thus: for His mother Mary having been betrothed to Joseph, before their coming together she was found to have conceived from the Holy Spirit,
Ũhoro wa gũciarwo kwa Jesũ Kristũ watariĩ ũũ: Nyina Mariamu nĩ oorĩtio nĩ Jusufu atuĩke mũtumia wake, no matanaikarania-rĩ, nĩamenyekire atĩ arĩ na nda ya Roho Mũtheru.

No thuutha wa gwĩciiria ũndũ ũcio, mũraika wa Mwathani akĩmuumĩrĩra kĩroto-inĩ, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Jusufu, mũrũ wa Daudi, ndũkae gwĩtigĩra kũhikia Mariamu atuĩke mũtumia waku, tondũ nda ĩyo arĩ nayo nĩ ya Roho Mũtheru.
21 and she will bring forth a Son, and you will call His Name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

22 And all this has come to pass, that it may be fulfilled that was spoken by the LORD through the prophet, saying,
Na rĩrĩ, maũndũ macio mothe meekĩkire nĩguo ũrĩa Mwathani aarĩtie na kanua ka mũnabii ũhinge, rĩrĩa oigire atĩrĩ,
