Mark 8
1 In those days the multitude being very great, and not having what they may eat, Jesus having called near His disciples, says to them,
In jenen Tagen war wieder eine große Volksmenge versammelt, und die Leute hatten nichts zu essen. Da rief er seine Jünger herbei und sprach zu ihnen: "Mich jammert der Leute, denn sie sind nun schon drei Tage bei mir und haben nichts mehr zu essen.
2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because now three days they continue with Me, and they have not what they may eat;
3 and if I will let them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the way, for certain of them are come from far.”
Lasse ich sie aber hungrig nach Hause gehen, so brechen sie unterwegs ermattet zusammen; es sind ja auch manche von weither gekommen."
4 And His disciples answered Him, “From where will anyone be able to feed these here in a wilderness with bread?”
Seine Jünger antworteten ihm: "Woher soll man in dieser menschenleeren Gegend Brot bekommen, um sie zu sättigen?"
5 And He was questioning them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
Da fragte er sie: "Wieviel Brote habt ihr denn?" Sie sprachen: "Sieben."
6 And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and having taken the seven loaves, having given thanks, He broke, and was giving to His disciples that they may set before [them]; and they set before the multitude.
Da ließ er die ganze Schar sich auf die Erde lagern. Dann nahm er die sieben Brote, sprach das Dankgebet, brach sie und gab sie seinen Jüngern zur Austeilung; die reichten sie dann den Leuten.
7 And they had a few small fishes, and having blessed, He said to set them also before [them];
Sie hatten auch noch einige kleine Fische. Über die sprach er den Segen und ließ sie auch austeilen.
8 and they ate and were filled, and they took up that which was over of broken pieces—seven baskets;
So aßen sie und wurden satt. Die übriggebliebenen Brocken hob man vom Boden auf: sieben kleine Körbe voll.
9 and those eating were about four thousand. And He let them away,
Es waren aber gegen viertausend (die gegessen hatten). Und er ließ sie gehen.
10 and immediately having entered into the boat with His disciples, He came to the parts of Dalmanutha,
Dann bestieg er sofort mit seinen Jüngern ein Boot und kam in das Gebiet von Dalmanutha.
11 and the Pharisees came forth, and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from Heaven, tempting Him;
Dort tauchten die Pharisäer auf. Die knüpften eine Unterredung mit ihm an, und, um ihn auszuhorchen, verlangten sie von ihm, er möge vom Himmel her ein Wunderzeichen kommen lassen.
12 and having sighed deeply in His spirit, He says, “Why does this generation seek after a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
Da seufzte er aus tiefstem Herzen und sprach: "Warum will dies Geschlecht ein Zeichen schauen? Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Dies Geschlecht soll nimmermehr ein Wunderzeichen zu sehen bekommen."
13 And having left them, having entered again into the boat, He went away to the other side;
Damit ließ er sie stehen. Dann stieg er wieder ins Boot und fuhr ans andere Ufer.
14 and they forgot to take loaves, and except one loaf they had nothing with them in the boat,
Die Jünger hatten nun vergessen, Brote mitzunehmen; nur eins noch hatten sie bei sich im Fahrzeug.
15 and He was charging them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod,”
Da warnte er sie: "Habt acht und hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und dem Sauerteig des Herodes!"
16 and they were reasoning with one another, saying, “Because we have no loaves.”
Da dachten sie und sprachen es auch gegeneinander aus: "Wir haben ja kein Brot!"
17 And Jesus having known, says to them, “Why do you reason, because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive, nor understand, yet have you hardened your heart?
Jesus merkte das und sprach zu ihnen: "Was macht ihr euch Gedanken darüber, daß ihr kein Brot mithabt? Fehlt's euch denn immer noch an Einsicht und Verständnis? Bleibt euer Herz so stumpf und unempfänglich?
18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
Ihr habt doch Augen, könnt ihr da nicht sehen? Und ihr habt Ohren, könnt ihr da nicht hören? Habt ihr kein Gedächtnis?
19 When I broke the five loaves to the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They say to Him, “Twelve.”
Als ich die fünf Brote für die Fünftausend brach, wieviel große Körbe voll Brocken habt ihr da aufgelesen?" Sie erwiderten: "Zwölf."
20 “And when the seven to the four thousand, how many hand-baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”
"Als ich dann die sieben Brote für die Viertausend brach, wieviel kleine Körbe voll Brocken habt ihr da aufgelesen?" Sie antworteten: "Sieben."
21 And He said to them, “How do you not understand?”
Da fragte er sie: "Seid ihr denn immer noch unverständig?"
22 And He comes to Bethsaida, and they bring to Him one blind, and call on Him that He may touch him,
Dann kamen sie nach Bethsaida. Dort ward ein Blinder zu ihm gebracht, und man bat ihn, ihn anzurühren.
23 and having taken the hand of the blind man, He led him forth outside the village, and having spit on his eyes, having put [His] hands on him, He was questioning him if he beholds anything:
Da nahm er den Blinden bei der Hand und führte ihn aus dem Dorf hinaus. Dann benetzte er ihm die Augen mit Speichel, legte ihm die Hände auf und fragte ihn: "Siehst du etwas?"
24 and he, having looked up, said, “I behold men, as I see trees, walking.”
Da blickte er auf und sagte: "Ich kann die Leute erkennen, ich sehe sie gehen — so groß wie Bäume!"
25 Afterward again He put [His] hands on his eyes, and made him look up, and he was restored, and discerned all things clearly,
Nun legte er ihm nochmals die Hände auf die Augen. Da konnte er deutlich sehen: er war geheilt und sah auch in der Ferne alle Gegenstände scharf.
26 and He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither may you go into the village, nor tell [it] to any in the village.”
Jetzt schickte ihn Jesus nach Hause, doch er wies ihn an: "Geh nicht in das Dorf zurück!"
27 And Jesus went forth, and His disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and in the way He was questioning His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say I am?”
Von dort zog Jesus mit seinen Jüngern weiter in die Dörfer bei Cäsarea Philippi. Unterwegs fragte er seine Jünger "Wofür halten mich die Leute?"
28 And they answered, “John the Immerser, and others Elijah, but others one of the prophets.”
Sie antworteten ihm: "Für Johannes den Täufer, andere für Elia, noch andere für einen der Propheten."
29 And He says to them, “And you—who do you say I am?” And Peter answering says to him, “You are the Christ.”
Da fragte er sie: "Für wen haltet ihr mich denn?" Petrus erwiderte ihm: "Du bist der Messias."
30 And He strictly charged them that they may tell no one about it,
Da verbot er ihnen streng, das irgendwem von ihm zu sagen.
31 and began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to rise again after three days;
Dann wies er sie zum erstenmal darauf hin: der Menschensohn müsse vieles leiden, dazu verworfen werden von den Ältesten, den Hohenpriestern und den Schriftgelehrten; ja er müsse den Tod erdulden, aber nach drei Tagen wieder auferstehen.
32 and openly He was speaking the word. And Peter having taken Him aside, began to rebuke Him,
Dies alles sprach er offen aus. Da nahm ihn Petrus beiseite und begann ihn ernstlich zu tadeln.
33 and He, having turned, and having looked on His disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan, because you do not mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
Aber Jesus wandte sich um, sah seine Jünger an und sprach zu Petrus die strengen Worte: "Mir aus den Augen, Satan! Denn du denkst nicht göttlich, sondern menschlich."
34 And having called near the multitude, with His disciples, He said to them, “Whoever wills to come after Me—let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me;
Dann rief er das Volk herbei samt seinen Jüngern und sprach zu ihnen: "Wer mein Nachfolger sein will, der verleugne sich selbst und nehme sein Kreuz auf sich und folge mir!
35 for whoever may will to save his life will lose it; and whoever may lose his life for My sake and for the good news’ sake, he will save it;
Denn wer sein Leben retten will, der wird es verlieren; wer aber sein Leben um meinetwillen und im Dienst der Heilsbotschaft verliert, der wird es retten.
36 for what will it profit a man, if he may gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
Was nützt es einem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewinnt und dabei sein Seelenheil verliert?
37 Or what will a man give as an exchange for his life?
Denn welchen Preis kann jemand zahlen, um sich damit sein Seelenheil zu erkaufen?
38 For whoever may be ashamed of Me, and of My words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He may come in the glory of His Father with the holy messengers.”
Wer sich nun in diesem gottvergessenen, sündigen Geschlecht mein und meiner Worte schämt, des wird sich auch der Menschensohn schämen, wenn er, begleitet von den heiligen Engeln, in seines Vaters Herrlichkeit erscheint."
