Mark 4
1 And again He began to teach by the sea, and there was gathered to Him a great multitude, so that He, having gone into the boat, sat in the sea, and all the multitude was near the sea, on the land,
Jesús comenzó a enseñar junto al mar una vez más. Vinieron tantas personas a escucharlo que tuvo que montarse en una barca y se sentó en ella, mientras esta flotaba en el agua, y la multitud lo oía desde la orilla.
2 and He taught them many things in allegories, and He said to them in His teaching:
Desde allí ilustraba sus enseñanzas por medio de relatos.
3 “Listen, behold, the sower went forth to sow;
“Escuchen”, les dijo. “Un sembrador salió a sembrar.
4 and it came to pass, in the sowing, some fell by the way, and the birds of the sky came and devoured it;
Sucedió que cuando estaba esparciendo las semillas, algunas cayeron en el camino, y las aves vinieron y se las comieron.
5 and other fell on the rocky ground, where it did not have much earth, and immediately it sprang forth, because of having no depth of earth,
Otras semillas cayeron en terreno rocoso donde no había mucha tierra. En ese suelo sin profundidad las plantas comenzaron a crecer con rapidez, pero como el suelo no era suficientemente profundo,
6 and the sun having risen, it was scorched, and because of having no root it withered;
se quemaron apenas salió el sol. Y como no tenían raíces profundas, pronto se marchitaron.
7 and other fell toward the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it gave no fruit;
Otras semillas cayeron entre espinos. Estos crecieron y ahogaron las semillas que germinaban, así que no dieron fruto.
8 and other fell to the good ground, and was giving fruit, coming up and increasing, and it was bearing, one thirty-fold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.”
Otras semillas cayeron en buen suelo y allí germinaron y crecieron. Produjeron cosecha treinta, sesenta, y algunas hasta cien veces lo que había sido sembrado.
9 And He said to them, “He who is having ears to hear—let him hear.”
Si tienen oídos para oír, oigan lo que les digo”.
10 And when He was alone, those around Him, with the Twelve, asked Him of the allegory,
Estando a solas con Jesús, sus doce discípulos y otras personas que estaban con él le preguntaron lo que significaban tales ilustraciones.
11 and He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the secret of the Kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, in allegories are all the things done,
Entonces les dijo: “El misterio del reino de Dios ha sido entregado a ustedes para que entiendan. Pero los incrédulos solo escuchan las historias,
12 that seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand, lest they may turn, and the sins may be forgiven them.”
de modo que aunque pueden ver, en realidad no ‘ven,’ y aunque pueden oír, no entienden, de lo contrario podrían convertirse y ser perdonados”.
13 And He says to them, “Have you not known this allegory? And how will you know all the allegories?
“¿No entienden este relato?” les preguntó Jesús. “Si no pueden entenderlo, ¿cómo podrán entender todos los demás?”
14 He who is sowing sows the word;
“El sembrador siembra la palabra.
15 and these are they by the way where the word is sown: and whenever they may hear, Satan immediately comes, and he takes away the word that has been sown in their hearts.
Las semillas en el camino donde se siembra la palabra representan a aquellos que escuchan el mensaje, pero inmediatamente Satanás llega y se lleva la palabra que ha sido sembrada en ellos.
16 And these are they, in like manner, who are sown on the rocky ground: who, whenever they may hear the word, immediately receive it with joy,
De la misma manera, las semillas en el suelo rocoso representan a los que oyen la palabra y la aceptan inmediatamente con felicidad.
17 and have no root in themselves, but are temporary; afterward tribulation or persecution having come because of the word, immediately they are stumbled.
Pero como no tienen raíces profundas, solo permanecen por un tiempo, hasta que llega la persecución, y pronto se apartan.
18 And these are they who are sown toward the thorns: these are they who are hearing the word,
Aquellas semillas sembradas entre los espinos representan a quienes oyen la palabra,
19 and the anxieties of this age, and the deceitfulness of the riches, and the desires concerning the other things, entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
pero las preocupaciones de este mundo, la tentación por las riquezas, y otras distracciones ahogan el crecimiento de la palabra, y se vuelve infructuosa. (aiōn g165)
20 And these are they who on the good ground have been sown: who hear the word, and receive, and bear fruit, one thirty-fold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.”
Pero las semillas que fueron sembradas en el buen suelo representan a aquellos que escuchan la palabra, la aceptan, y produce fruto, produciendo treinta, sesenta y hasta cien veces más lo que originalmente se sembró.
21 And He said to them, “Does the lamp come that it may be put under the measure, or under the bed—not that it may be put on the lampstand?
“¿Quién pone una lámpara debajo de un balde, o bajo la cama?” les preguntó Jesús. “No, una lámpara se coloca sobre un candelabro.
22 For there is not anything hid that may not be revealed, nor was anything kept hid but that it may come to light.
Todo lo que está oculto, será revelado, y todo lo que está en secreto, saldrá a la luz.
23 If any has ears to hear—let him hear.”
Si tienen oídos para oír, oigan lo que les digo.
24 And He said to them, “Take heed what you hear; in what measure you measure, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear it will be added;
Presten atención a lo que están oyendo”, les dijo, “pues se les dará en la medida que ustedes quieran recibir, medida por medida.
25 for whoever may have, there will be given to him, and whoever has not, also that which he has will be taken from him.”
Se le dará más a los que ya tienen entendimiento, pero los que no quieren saber, el poco entendimiento que tengan se les quitará.
26 And He said, “Thus is the Kingdom of God: as if a man may cast the seed on the earth,
“El reino de Dios es como un hombre que siembra las semillas en el suelo”, dijo Jesús.
27 and may sleep, and may rise night and day, and the seed springs up and grows, he has not known how;
“Este hombre va a dormir y se levanta cada día, pero no sabe cómo germinarán y crecerán las semillas.
28 for of itself the earth bears fruit, first a blade, afterward an ear, afterward full grain in the ear;
La tierra produce la cosecha por sí sola. Primero aparece un brote, luego se ve el grano, luego el grano maduro.
29 and whenever the fruit may yield itself, immediately he sends forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Cuando el grano está maduro, el granjero lo siega con una hoz, pues la cosecha está lista.
30 And He said, “To what may we liken the Kingdom of God, or in what allegory may we compare it?
“¿Con qué podríamos comparar el reino de Dios? ¿Qué ilustración podríamos usar?” preguntó.
31 As a grain of mustard, which, whenever it may be sown on the earth, is less than any of the seeds that are on the earth;
“Es como una semilla de mostaza, la más pequeña de todas las semillas.
32 and whenever it may be sown, it comes up, and becomes greater than any of the herbs, and makes great branches, so that under its shade the birds of the sky are able to rest.”
Pero cuando se siembra, crece y se convierte en un árbol que es más grande que las demás plantas. Y tiene ramas tan grandes que las aves pueden posarse bajo su sombra”.
33 And with many such allegories He was speaking to them the word, as they were able to hear,
Jesús usaba muchos de estos relatos ilustrados cuando hablaba a la gente a fin de que pudieran entender cuanto fuera posible.
34 and without an allegory He was not speaking to them, and by themselves, to His disciples He was expounding all.
De hecho, cuando hablaba públicamente solo usaba relatos, pero en privado él les explicaba todas las cosas a sus discípulos.
35 And He says to them on that day, evening having come, “We may pass over to the other side”;
Ese mismo día por la noche, él les dijo a sus discípulos: “Vayamos y crucemos hasta el otro lado del Mar”.
36 and having let away the multitude, they take Him up as He was in the boat, and other little boats were also with Him.
Y abandonando la multitud, los discípulos se subieron con Jesús en una barca. Y otras embarcaciones iban con ellos.
37 And there comes a great storm of wind, and the waves were beating on the boat, so that it is now being filled,
De pronto, comenzó a soplar una fuerte tormenta, y las olas chocaban contra la barca, llenándola de agua.
38 and He Himself was on the stern, sleeping on the pillow, and they wake Him up, and say to Him, “Teacher, are You not caring that we perish?”
Jesús estaba dormido en la parte trasera de la barca, con su cabeza recostada sobre un almohadón. Entonces los discípulos lo despertaron, gritándole: “¡Maestro! ¿No te preocupa que estamos a punto de ahogarnos?”
39 And having awoken, He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace, be stilled”; and the wind stilled, and there was a great calm;
Jesús se despertó. Entonces le dijo al viento que se calmara y a las olas les dijo: “¡Cállense! Estén quietas”. Entonces el viento se calmó y el agua se quedó completamente tranquila.
40 and He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How have you no faith?”
“¿Por qué están tan asustados? ¿No han aprendido a confiar en mí?” les preguntó.
41 And they feared a great fear and said to one another, “Who, then, is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Ellos estaban aturdidos y aterrorizados. Se preguntaban unos a otros, “¿Quién es este? ¡Hasta el viento y las olas le obedecen!”
