Mark 15
1 And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests having made a consultation with the elders, and scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin, having bound Jesus, led [Him] away, and delivered [Him] to Pilate;
Brzy ráno velekněží s nejvyšší židovskou radou vynesli nad Ježíšem rozsudek smrti a poslali ho v poutech k římskému místodržiteli Pilátovi.
2 and Pilate questioned Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And He answering said to him, “You say [it].”
„Tak ty jsi ten král Židů?“ušklíbl se Pilát. „Jak říkáš, “odpověděl Ježíš.
3 And the chief priests were accusing Him of many things, [but He answered nothing.]
Velekněží ho u Piláta obvinili z mnoha zločinů.
4 And Pilate again questioned Him, saying, “You do not answer anything? Behold, how many things they testify against You!”
„Co ty na?“dal mu slovo místodržitel. „Co odpovíš na všechny ty žaloby?“
5 And Jesus no longer answered anything, so that Pilate wondered.
Ježíš však už ani nepromluvil, nehájil se. Divný zločinec!
6 And at every celebration he was releasing to them one prisoner, whomsoever they were asking for;
Vždy o Velikonocích amnestoval místodržitel podle volby lidu jednoho ze židovských vězňů.
7 and there was [one] named Barabbas, bound with those making insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
Pro výtržnost a vraždu seděl ve vězení jakýsi Barabáš se svými kumpány.
8 And the multitude having cried out, began to ask for themselves as he was always doing to them,
Před Pilátovým sídlem se shromáždil dav a začal se dovolávat tradiční amnestie.
9 and Pilate answered them, saying, “Will you [that] I will release to you the King of the Jews?”
Pilát toho využil a promluvil k nim: „Chcete, abych propustil toho židovského krále?“
10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him up because of envy;
Tušil totiž, že velekněží ho odsoudili k smrti, protože se báli jeho vlivu na lidi.
11 and the chief priests moved the multitude that he might rather release Barabbas to them.
Ale velekněžími navedená chátra žádala propuštění Barabáše.
12 And Pilate answering, again said to them, “What, then, will you [that] I will do to Him whom you call King of the Jews?”
„Co tedy mám udělat s tím, kterému říkáte židovský král?“
13 And they again cried out, “Crucify Him!”
„Ukřižovat!“ozvaly se výkřiky.
14 And Pilate said to them, “Why—what evil did He do?” And they cried out the more vehemently, “Crucify Him!”
„Ale za jaký zločin?“namítal Pilát. Lůza však skandovala: „Na kříž! Na kříž!“
15 And Pilate, resolving to do that which [was] satisfactory to the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and delivered up Jesus—having scourged [Him]—that He might be crucified.
Pilát tedy ustoupil nátlaku davu, dal propustit z vězení Barabáše a Ježíše vydal popravčí četě, aby ho zbičovali a ukřižovali.
16 And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, which is [the] Praetorium, and call together the whole band,
Vojáci odvedli Ježíše na nádvoří vládní budovy a svolali celou rotu.
17 and clothe Him with purple, and having plaited a garland of thorns, they put [it] on Him,
Oblékli ho do purpurové látky jako do královského pláště, spletli věnec z trní a posadili mu ho na hlavu jako korunu.
18 and began to greet Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
Začali ho výsměšně zdravit a volali: „Ať žije židovský král!“
19 And they were striking Him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on Him, and having bent the knee, were prostrating to Him,
Bili jej holí do hlavy, plivali na něj a pak si zase před něj klekali a klaněli se mu.
20 and when they [had] mocked Him, they took the purple from off Him, and clothed Him in His own garments, and they led Him forth, that they may crucify Him.
Když se dost pobavili, svlékli mu zase purpurový plášť, oblékli mu jeho vlastní šaty a vedli ho na popraviště.
21 And they impress a certain one passing by—Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus—that he may carry His cross,
Ježíš nemohl těžký kříž sám unést. Do města právě přicházel jistý Šimon, rodák z Kyrény, a toho vojáci přinutili, aby mu pomohl. (Šimon je otec pozdějších křesťanů Alexandra a Rufa.)
22 and they bring Him to the place [called] Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “Place of [the] Skull”;
Tak přivedli Ježíše až na popraviště, které se jmenovalo Golgota, což znamená Lebka.
23 and they were giving Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, and He did not receive [it].
Nabídli mu víno s omamnou příměsí, ale on je odmítl.
24 And having crucified Him, they were dividing His garments, casting a lot on them, what each may take;
Pak jej přibili na kříž a losovali o jeho šaty.
25 and it was the third hour, and they crucified Him;
Poprava se konala v devět hodin ráno.
26 and the inscription of His accusation was written above: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
Ježíšovu vinu oznamoval nápis nad jeho hlavou: „Židovský král“.
27 And they crucify two robbers with Him, one on the right hand and one on His left,
Zároveň s ním ukřižovali dva zločince; jednoho po pravé a druhého po levé straně.
28 [[and the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, “And He was numbered with lawless ones.”]]
Splnila se tak prorocká předpověď: „Je zahrnut mezi zločince.“
29 And those passing by were slandering Him, shaking their heads, and saying, “Ha! The [One] throwing down the temple, and building [it] in three days!
Kolemjdoucí mu nadávali a vysmívali se mu: „Tak tys nám chtěl zbořit chrám a za tři dny ho zase postavit?
30 Save Yourself, and come down from the cross!”
Když jsi tak mocný, pomoz si sám a sestup z kříže!“
31 And in like manner also the chief priests, mocking with one another, with the scribes, said, “He saved others; He is not able to save Himself.
Mezi posměvači byla i skupina významných kněží a učitelů zákona, kteří si mezi sebou říkali: „Jiným pomáhal a teď je bezmocný.
32 The Christ! The King of Israel—let Him come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe”; and those crucified with Him were reproaching Him.
Jestli je to opravdu Mesiáš, zaslíbený král Izraele, ať sestoupí z kříže. To nás přesvědčí a uvěříme mu.“A také zločinci na křížích mu spílali.
33 And the sixth hour having come, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,
V poledne se náhle setmělo a zlověstné šero trvalo až do tří hodin.
34 and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?” Which is, being interpreted, “My God, My God, why did You forsake Me?”
Ve tři hodiny odpoledne vykřikl Ježíš: „Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachtani?“Jsou to úvodní slova dvacátého druhého žalmu: „Bože můj, Bože můj, proč jsi mne opustil?“
35 And certain of those standing by, having heard, said, “Behold, He calls Elijah”;
Někteří z přihlížejících mu nerozuměli a domnívali se, že volá na pomoc proroka Elijáše.
36 and one having run, and having filled a sponge with vinegar, having also put [it] on a reed, was giving Him to drink, saying, “Let alone, let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
Jeden z nich připevnil na hůl houbu nasátou kyselým vínem a přistrčil mu ji ke rtům se slovy: „Počkáme si, zda mu Elijáš přijde na pomoc.“
37 And Jesus having uttered a loud cry, yielded the spirit,
Ježíš vykřikl ještě jednou a zemřel.
38 and the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom,
V tu chvíli se opona, která zastírala nejsvatější místnost chrámu, roztrhla napůl od shora až dolů.
39 and the centurion who was standing opposite Him, having seen that, having so cried out, He yielded the spirit, said, “Truly this Man was [the] Son of God.”
Římský setník, který velel popravčí četě a byl svědkem Ježíšových posledních chvil, zvolal: „Ten člověk byl opravdu Boží Syn!“
40 And there were also women beholding far off, among whom was also Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,
Zpovzdálí přihlížely některé ženy, mezi nimi Marie Magdaléna, Marie, matka Jakuba „malého“a Josefa, a Salome.
41 who also, when He was in Galilee, were following Him and were ministering to Him, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
Ty v něho uvěřily už kdysi v Galileji a od té doby mu sloužily. A byly tu i jiné ženy, které s ním přišly do Jeruzaléma.
42 And now evening having come, seeing it was the Preparation, that is, before Sabbath,
Nastával páteční večer, pro židy začátek sobotního svátku.
43 Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable counselor, who also himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God, came, boldly entered in to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
Josef z Arimatie, vážený člen velerady, který také vyhlížel Mesiášovu vládu, přišel odvážně k Pilátovi a žádal Ježíšovo tělo.
44 And Pilate wondered if He were already dead, and having called near the centurion, questioned him if He were long dead,
Místodržitel se podivil, že by Ježíš tak brzy zemřel. Zavolal si velitele popravčí čety a zeptal se ho na to.
45 and having known [it] from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
Když mu to setník potvrdil, přikázal vydat Ježíšovo tělo Josefovi.
46 And he, having brought fine linen, and having taken Him down, wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a tomb that had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone to the door of the tomb,
Ten koupil plátno, a když sňali Ježíšovo tělo z kříže, zavinul je a uložil do vlastní hrobky, vytesané ve skále. Před vchod přivalili kamennou desku.
47 and Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, were beholding where He is laid.
Marie Magdaléna a Marie Josefova je sledovaly, a věděly tak, kde je Ježíš pohřben.
