Mark 10
1 And having risen from there, He comes to the coasts of Judea, through the other side of the Jordan, and again multitudes come together to Him, and as He had been accustomed, again He was teaching them.
| ישוע עזב את כפר־נחום והלך דרומה, לגבול יהודה ולאזור שממזרח לנהר הירדן. שוב התאסף סביבו קהל גדול, וישוע לימד אותם כמנהגו. |
2 And the Pharisees, having come near, questioned Him if it is lawful for a husband to put away a wife, tempting Him,
| פרושים אחדים שבאו לנסותו שאלו:”האם מותר לאיש להתגרש מאשתו?“ |
3 and He answering said to them, “What did Moses command you?”
| ”מה אמר משה רבנו בקשר לגירושין?“שאל ישוע. |
4 And they said, “Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put away.”
| ”משה אמר שמותר להתגרש“, השיבו הפרושים.”הוא אמר שבעל הרוצה לגרש את אשתו צריך לכתוב לה ספר כריתות (מכתב גירושין), וזה כל מה שנדרש ממנו.“ |
5 And Jesus answering said to them, “For the stiffness of your heart he wrote you this command,
| ”האם אתם יודעים מדוע כתב לכם משה את המצוה הזאת?“השיב ישוע.”אני אגיד לכם למה: משה לקח בחשבון את האופי העקשני שלכם. |
6 but from the beginning of the creation God made them a male and a female;
| הרי מובן מאליו שאלוהים לא ברא איש ואישה כדי שייפרדו, אלא להיפך – אלוהים ברא איש ואישה כדי שיתאחדו לעולם בברית הנישואין. על כן יעזוב איש את אביו ואת אמו, |
7 on this account will a man leave his father and mother, and will cleave to his wife,
8 and they will be—the two—for one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh;
| ודבק באשתו והיו לבשר אחד. |
9 what God therefore joined together, do not let man separate.”
| וכך אסור לאיש להפריד את מה שאלוהים איחד.“ |
10 And in the house His disciples again questioned Him of the same thing,
| מאוחר יותר, כשנשאר ישוע בבית לבד עם התלמידים, שוב העלו את הנושא. |
11 and He says to them, “Whoever may put away his wife, and may marry another, commits adultery against her;
| ישוע הסביר להם:”בעל המגרש את אשתו משום שברצונו להתחתן עם אישה אחרת, נחשב לנואף. |
12 and if a woman may put away her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
| ואישה המגרשת את בעלה ומתחתנת בשנית נחשבת גם היא לנואפת.“ |
13 And they were bringing to Him children that He might touch them, and the disciples were rebuking those bringing them,
| פעם הביאו אליו מספר אמהות את ילדיהן, כדי שיברך אותם, אולם התלמידים גירשו את האמהות וביקשו מהן שלא להטריד את ישוע. |
14 and Jesus having seen, was much displeased, and He said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the Kingdom of God;
| כשראה ישוע מה עושים תלמידיו, זה לא מצא חן בעיניו.”תנו לילדים לבוא אלי ואל תמנעו מהם, כי לכאלה שייכת מלכות האלוהים. |
15 truly I say to you, whoever may not receive the Kingdom of God as a child—he may not enter into it”;
| אני אומר לכם: מי שלא מקבל את מלכות האלוהים כמו ילד, לא יוכל להיכנס אליה.“ |
16 and having taken them in His arms, having put [His] hands on them, He was blessing them.
| ישוע חיבק את הילדים, הניח ידיו על ראשם וברך אותם. |
17 And as He is going forth into the way, one having run and having kneeled to Him, was questioning Him, “Good Teacher, what may I do that I may inherit continuous life?” (aiōnios g166)
| יום אחד כאשר ישוע יצא לאחד ממסעותיו, בא אליו אדם בריצה שנפל לרגליו ושאל:”רבי הטוב, מה עלי לעשות כדי לזכות בחיי נצח?“ (aiōnios g166) |
18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one [is] good except one—God;
| ”מדוע אתה קורא לי טוב?“שאל ישוע.”רק אלוהים טוב. |
19 you have known the commands: You may not commit adultery, You may not murder, You may not steal, You may not bear false witness, You may not defraud, Honor your father and mother.”
| אך בתשובה לשאלתך, אתה הרי מכיר את המצוות: לא תרצח, לא תנאף, לא תגנוב, לא תענה ברעך עד שקר, לא תעשוק, כבד את אביך ואת אמך?“ |
20 And he answering said to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.”
| ”רבי, “ענה האיש,”תמיד שמרתי את כל המצוות האלה.“ |
21 And Jesus having looked on him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: go away, whatever you have—sell, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven, and come, follow Me, having taken up the cross.”
| ישוע הביט בו באהבה.”עליך לעשות עוד דבר אחד: עליך למכור את רכושך ולתרום את הכסף לעניים – כדי שאוצרך יהיה בשמים – ולאחר מכן לך אחרי.“ |
22 And he—gloomy at the word—went away sorrowing, for he was having many possessions.
| האיש התעצב מאוד והלך לדרכו, כי היה עשיר מאוד. |
23 And Jesus having looked around, says to His disciples, “How hardly will they who have riches enter into the Kingdom of God!”
| ישוע הסתכל ואז אמר לתלמידיו:”לאיש עשיר קשה מאוד להיכנס למלכות האלוהים.“ |
24 And the disciples were astonished at His words, and Jesus again answering says to them, “Children, how hard it is to those trusting on riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
| דבריו של ישוע הדהימו את התלמידים, ולכן חזר ואמר:”ילדים יקרים, מי שבוטח בכסף וברכוש קשה לו מאוד להיכנס למלכות האלוהים. |
25 It is easier for a camel to enter through the eye of the needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
| קל יותר לגמל לעבור דרך חור המחט, מאשר לאיש עשיר להיכנס למלכות האלוהים.“ |
26 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying to themselves, “And who is able to be saved?”
| דבריו אך הגבירו את תמיהת התלמידים. הם שאלו זה את זה:”מי, אם כן, יוכל להיוושע?“ |
27 And Jesus, having looked on them, says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
| ישוע הביט בהם ואמר:”למעשה, לבני־האדם זה לא אפשרי, אולם לא לאלוהים: עם אלוהים הכול אפשרי!“ |
28 And Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we left all, and we followed You.”
| פטרוס החל למנות בקול רם את כל הדברים שהוא ושאר התלמידים עזבו למען ישוע.”אנחנו ויתרנו על הכול כדי ללכת אחריך!“אמר פטרוס. |
29 And Jesus answering said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for My sake, and for the good news’,
| ”אני מבטיח לכם, “אמר ישוע,”שכל מי שוויתר על בית, אחים, אחיות, אמא, אבא, ילדים או רכוש למעני ולמען הבשורה, |
30 who may not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecutions, and in the age that is coming, continuous life; (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
| יקבל ממני חזרה פי מאה ממה שלכאורה הפסיד: בתים, אחים, אחיות, אמהות, ילדים, אדמות – אך עם כל אלה גם רדיפות, ובעולם הבא יקבל חיי נצח. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166) |
31 and many first will be last, and the last first.”
| אולם רבים מאלה שהם ראשונים עתה יהיו אז אחרונים, ואחדים מהאחרונים עתה יהיו אז ראשונים.“ |
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them, and they were amazed, and following they were afraid. And having again taken the Twelve, He began to tell them the things about to happen to Him:
| בדרך לירושלים הלך ישוע בראש, והתלמידים הלכו אחריו בחרדה. ישוע המשיך לספר להם מה יקרה לו. |
33 “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him to the nations,
| הוא דיבר איתם על הצפוי לו בירושלים:”מישהו יסגיר אותי לידי ראשי הכוהנים ולסופרים. הם ידונו אותי למוות וימסרו אותי לידי הרומאים. |
34 and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him, and the third day He will rise again.”
| הם יִרקו עלי, ילעגו לי, יצליפו בי בשוטים ויהרגו אותי. אבל לאחר שלושה ימים אקום לתחייה.“ |
35 And there come near to Him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we may ask for ourselves, You may do for us”;
| יעקב ויוחנן בני זבדי לחשו באוזנו:”רבי, אנחנו רוצים לבקש ממך טובה.“ |
36 and He said to them, “What do you wish Me to do for you?”
| ”איזו טובה אתם רוצים?“שאל ישוע. |
37 And they said to Him, “Grant to us that, one on Your right hand and one on Your left, we may sit in Your glory”;
| ”כאשר תשב על כסא המלכות, אנו רוצים לשבת אחד לימינך ואחד לשמאלך.“ |
38 and Jesus said to them, “You have not known what you ask; are you able to drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the immersion that I am immersed with—to be immersed?”
| ”אינכם יודעים מה אתם מבקשים!“התפלא ישוע.”האם תוכלו לשתות מהכוס שאני חייב לשתות? האם תוכלו להיטבל בטבילה שאני מוכרח להיטבל?“ |
39 And they said to Him, “We are able”; and Jesus said to them, “Of the cup indeed that I drink of, you will drink, and with the immersion that I am immersed with, you will be immersed;
| ”כן!“השיבו.”אתם באמת תשתו מכוסי ותיטבלו בטבילתי“, אמר ישוע. |
40 but to sit on My right and on My left is not Mine to give, but—to those for whom it has been prepared.”
| ”אבל איני יכול להבטיח לכם לשבת לימיני ולשמאלי, מפני שמקומות אלה כבר שמורים!“ |
41 And the ten having heard, began to be much displeased at James and John,
| עד מהרה גילו שאר התלמידים את בקשתם של יעקב ויוחנן וכעסו עליהם מאוד. |
42 but Jesus having called them near, says to them, “You have known that they who are considered to rule the nations exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority on them;
| ישוע קיבץ סביבו את התלמידים ואמר:”אתם הרי יודעים שאלה הנחשבים למנהיגי הגויים רודים בנתיניהם, ומעניקים כוח וסמכות למי שהם רוצים. |
43 but not so will it be among you; but whoever may will to become great among you, he will be your minister,
| אולם ביניכם אין הדבר כך; מי שרוצה להיות מנהיג ביניכם צריך להיות לכם למשרת. |
44 and whoever of you may will to become first, he will be servant of all;
| מי שרוצה לעמוד בראש צריך להיות המשרת של כולכם. |
45 for even the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life [as] a ransom for many.”
| אף אני, בן־האדם, לא באתי לכאן כדי שישרתו אותי, אלא כדי לשרת אחרים ולתת את חיי כופר בעד רבים.“ |
46 And they come to Jericho, and as He is going forth from Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, a son of Timaeus—Bartimaeus the blind—was sitting beside the way begging,
| ישוע ותלמידיו באו ליריחו. בצאתם מהעיר הלך אחריהם קהל גדול. בצד הדרך ישב קבצן עיוור בשם ברטמי בן־טימי, |
47 and having heard that it is Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and to say, “The Son of David—Jesus! Deal kindly with me”;
| ששמע שישוע מנצרת מתקרב. ברטמי החל לצעוק:”ישוע בן דוד, רחם עלי!“ |
48 and many were rebuking him that he might keep silent, but the more abundantly he cried out, “Son of David, deal kindly with me.”
| ”שתוק!“ציוו עליו מספר אנשים. אך העיוור לא שתק, אלא הגביר את קולו:”בן דוד, רחם עלי!“ |
49 And Jesus having stood, He commanded him to be called, and they call the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, rise, He calls you”;
| ישוע שמע את תחינותיו של העיוור ועמד מלכת. הוא ביקש לקרוא לעיוור.”התעודד, “אמרו לו,”קום! הוא קורא לך.“ |
50 and he, having cast away his garment, having risen, came to Jesus.
| ברטמי השליך מעליו את שמיכותיו ובא לישוע. |
51 And answering, Jesus says to him, “What do you will I may do to you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may see again”;
| ”מה אוכל לעשות למענך?“שאל ישוע.”רבי, אני רוצה לראות!“בכה האיש. |
52 and Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has saved you”: and immediately he saw again, and was following Jesus in the way.
| ”כמובן“, השיב ישוע.”אמונתך ריפאה אותך; לך לשלום.“ואכן עיניו נרפאו והוא הלך בדרך אחרי ישוע. |
