Mark 10
1 And having risen from there, He comes to the coasts of Judea, through the other side of the Jordan, and again multitudes come together to Him, and as He had been accustomed, again He was teaching them.
ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲟϣ ⲛ̅ϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ ⲁⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲉϣⲁϥⲁⲁⲥ ⲁϥϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲩ
2 And the Pharisees, having come near, questioned Him if it is lawful for a husband to put away a wife, tempting Him,
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲉⲝⲉⲥⲧⲉⲓ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲉϫⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. ⲉⲩⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ.
3 and He answering said to them, “What did Moses command you?”
ⲅ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ ϩⲟⲛϥ̅ ⲉⲧⲟⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅.
4 And they said, “Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put away.”
ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ ϯⲑⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲉϯⲟⲩϫⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲩⲓ̈ⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
5 And Jesus answering said to them, “For the stiffness of your heart he wrote you this command,
ⲉ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲧⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲙⲱⲩ̈ⲥⲏⲥ ⲥⲉϩⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅.
6 but from the beginning of the creation God made them a male and a female;
ⲋ̅ϫⲓⲛⲧⲉϩⲟⲩⲓ̈ⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϥ̅ⲥⲱⲛⲧ̅. ⲟⲩϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲙ̅ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟⲟⲩ
7 on this account will a man leave his father and mother, and will cleave to his wife,
ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲡⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲧⲉϥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϥ̅ⲧⲱϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ
8 and they will be—the two—for one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh;
ⲏ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲟⲩⲱⲧ
9 what God therefore joined together, do not let man separate.”
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϭⲉ ⲁⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲁ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲧⲣⲉⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲟⲣϫϥ̅.
10 And in the house His disciples again questioned Him of the same thing,
ⲓ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲩϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ϣⲁϫⲉ.
11 and He says to them, “Whoever may put away his wife, and may marry another, commits adultery against her;
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛϥ̅ϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲕⲉⲧⲉ ⲉϥⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲉϫⲱⲥ.
12 and if a woman may put away her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲱⲱⲥ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛⲕⲁⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲉⲓ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲥ ⲛⲥ̅ϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲥⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲓ̈ⲕ.
13 And they were bringing to Him children that He might touch them, and the disciples were rebuking those bringing them,
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲓ̈ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲕⲁⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ̅ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ. ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϣⲡⲟⲩ.
14 and Jesus having seen, was much displeased, and He said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the Kingdom of God;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϥϭⲛⲁⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲛ̅ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲉⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲛⲟϣⲡⲟⲩ ⲧⲁϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
15 truly I say to you, whoever may not receive the Kingdom of God as a child—he may not enter into it”;
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥ̅ⲛⲁϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲓ̈ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ
16 and having taken them in His arms, having put [His] hands on them, He was blessing them.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϣⲉⲡϣⲱⲡⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ̅ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ.
17 And as He is going forth into the way, one having run and having kneeled to Him, was questioning Him, “Good Teacher, what may I do that I may inherit continuous life?” (aiōnios g166)
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ̅ ϩⲓϩⲏ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲛ̅ⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲁⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲉⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓ ⲙ̅ⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ. (aiōnios g166)
18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one [is] good except one—God;
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ̈ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥ.
19 you have known the commands: You may not commit adultery, You may not murder, You may not steal, You may not bear false witness, You may not defraud, Honor your father and mother.”
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲛ̅ⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲕⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϩⲱⲧⲃ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲣ̅ⲛⲟⲉⲓⲕ. ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ. ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲣ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲟⲩϫ. ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϥⲱϭⲉ. ⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲉⲡⲉⲕⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲙ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩ
20 And he answering said to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.”
ⲕ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲓ̈ϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲓⲛⲧⲁⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲕⲟⲩⲓ̈.
21 And Jesus having looked on him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: go away, whatever you have—sell, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven, and come, follow Me, having taken up the cross.”
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϭⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ ⲁϥⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧϥ̅. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕϣⲁⲁⲧ ⲛ̅ⲕⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲕⲥⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲅ̅ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲕⲉ ⲛⲅⲕⲁⲟⲩⲁϩⲟ ⲛⲁⲕ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅ̅ⲉⲓ ⲛⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲁϩⲕ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲉ͡ⲓ.
22 And he—gloomy at the word—went away sorrowing, for he was having many possessions.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲱⲕⲙ̅ ⲉϫⲙ̅ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲕϩ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲛⲁϣⲉⲛ̅ϭⲟⲟⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥⲥⲟⲩ.
23 And Jesus having looked around, says to His disciples, “How hardly will they who have riches enter into the Kingdom of God!”
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲕⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲁⲧϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ϥⲙⲟⲕϩ̅ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲩⲭⲣⲏⲙⲁ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
24 And the disciples were astonished at His words, and Jesus again answering says to them, “Children, how hard it is to those trusting on riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ̅ ⲉϫⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ. ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲟⲛ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
25 It is easier for a camel to enter through the eye of the needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲥⲙⲟⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲟⲩϭⲁⲙⲟⲩⲗ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲩⲁⲧϥⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩϩⲁⲙ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲡ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲟⲩⲣⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲟ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
26 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying to themselves, “And who is able to be saved?”
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ̅ ⲉⲡⲉϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲛϩ.
27 And Jesus, having looked on them, says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϭⲱϣⲧ̅ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁϩⲧⲉⲛ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϣⲡⲁⲓ̈ϣ͡ⲱⲡⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲛ. ⲟⲩⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
28 And Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we left all, and we followed You.”
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲕⲁⲛ̅ⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲕ.
29 And Jesus answering said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for My sake, and for the good news’,
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁⲏⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ. ⲏ̑ ⲥⲟⲛ ⲏ̑ ⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲏ̑ ⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲏ̑ ⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲏ̑ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲏ̑ ⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲧʾ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ.
31 and many first will be last, and the last first.”
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲛ̅ϩⲁϩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲁⲣ̅ϩⲁⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲛ̅ϩⲁⲉⲟⲩ ⲣ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ.
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them, and they were amazed, and following they were afraid. And having again taken the Twelve, He began to tell them the things about to happen to Him:
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉⲩⲛⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ. ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ϩⲓϩⲏ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ. ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲁⲑⲟⲧⲉ ϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲛ̅ϫⲱ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ
33 “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will deliver Him to the nations,
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲛⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲧϭⲁⲓ̈ⲟϥ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ
34 and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him, and the third day He will rise again.”
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲛϫⲧⲁϥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ. ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ̅. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲟⲩ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ
35 And there come near to Him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we may ask for ourselves, You may do for us”;
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲍⲉⲃⲉⲇⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲧⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱϣ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲕ ⲙ̅ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲅ̅ⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲛ.
36 and He said to them, “What do you wish Me to do for you?”
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲉⲧⲣⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅.
37 And they said to Him, “Grant to us that, one on Your right hand and one on Your left, we may sit in Your glory”;
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲉⲩⲁ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲃⲟⲩⲣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲕ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲕⲉⲟⲟⲩ
38 and Jesus said to them, “You have not known what you ask; are you able to drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the immersion that I am immersed with—to be immersed?”
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩ. ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲥⲟⲟϥ. ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁϣⲥⲟⲟϥ ⲡⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲍⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁϣϫⲓⲧϥ̅.
39 And they said to Him, “We are able”; and Jesus said to them, “Of the cup indeed that I drink of, you will drink, and with the immersion that I am immersed with, you will be immersed;
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉ. ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲧ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉϯⲛⲁⲥⲟⲟϥ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲟⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲉϯⲛⲁϫⲓⲧϥ̅ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁϫⲓⲧϥ̅.
40 but to sit on My right and on My left is not Mine to give, but—to those for whom it has been prepared.”
ⲙ̅ⲉϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ̈ ⲏ ⲥⲁϩⲃⲟⲩⲣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲡⲱⲓ̈ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲁϥ. ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲩⲥⲃ̅ⲧⲱⲧϥ̅ ⲛⲁⲩ.
41 And the ten having heard, began to be much displeased at James and John,
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲙⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲛ̅ϭⲛⲁⲧ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ
42 but Jesus having called them near, says to them, “You have known that they who are considered to rule the nations exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority on them;
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲟ ⲛ̅ⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲉⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲩϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲥⲉⲟ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ.
43 but not so will it be among you; but whoever may will to become great among you, he will be your minister,
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲣ̅ⲛⲟϭ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅.
44 and whoever of you may will to become first, he will be servant of all;
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅. ⲉϥⲛⲁⲣ̅ϩⲙ̅ϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ⲧⲏⲣⲧⲛ̅
45 for even the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life [as] a ransom for many.”
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲕⲁⲓⲅⲁⲣ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥ̅ϯ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ·
46 And they come to Jericho, and as He is going forth from Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, a son of Timaeus—Bartimaeus the blind—was sitting beside the way begging,
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲓⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙ̅ⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ. ⲃⲁⲣⲧⲓⲙⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲃⲗ̅ⲗⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲓⲙⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉϥϫⲓⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲛⲁ.
47 and having heard that it is Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and to say, “The Son of David—Jesus! Deal kindly with me”;
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϫⲉ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ. ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲛ̅ϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ. ⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ̈.
48 and many were rebuking him that he might keep silent, but the more abundantly he cried out, “Son of David, deal kindly with me.”
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϣⲡϥ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲕⲁⲣⲱϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲁϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ̈
49 And Jesus having stood, He commanded him to be called, and they call the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, rise, He calls you”;
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲕ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ.
50 and he, having cast away his garment, having risen, came to Jesus.
ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲛⲉϫⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲓ̈ⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅.
51 And answering, Jesus says to him, “What do you will I may do to you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may see again”;
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲕⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲉⲧⲣⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲕ. ⲡⲃⲗ̅ⲗⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲃⲃⲟⲩⲛⲉⲓ ⲉⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
52 and Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has saved you”: and immediately he saw again, and was following Jesus in the way.
ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲧⲉⲕⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲕ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ·
