Luke 4
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, turned back from the Jordan, and was brought in the Spirit into the wilderness,
Kutsal Ruh'la dolu olarak Şeria Irmağı'ndan dönen İsa, Ruh'un yönlendirmesiyle çölde dolaştırılarak kırk gün İblis tarafından denendi. O günlerde hiçbir şey yemedi. Dolayısıyla bu süre sonunda acıktı.
2 being tempted by the Devil forty days, and He did not eat anything in those days, and they having been ended, He afterward hungered,
3 and the Devil said to Him, “If You are [the] Son of God, speak to this stone that it may become bread.”
Bunun üzerine İblis O'na, “Tanrı'nın Oğlu'ysan, şu taşa söyle ekmek olsun” dedi.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, “It has been written, that, Not on bread only will man live, but on every saying of God.”
İsa, “‘İnsan yalnız ekmekle yaşamaz’ diye yazılmıştır” karşılığını verdi.
5 And the Devil having brought Him up to a high mountain, showed to Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,
Sonra İblis İsa'yı yükseklere çıkararak bir anda O'na dünyanın bütün ülkelerini gösterdi.
6 and the Devil said to Him, “To You I will give all this authority, and their glory, because to me it has been delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I give it;
O'na, “Bütün bunların yönetimini ve zenginliğini sana vereceğim” dedi. “Bunlar bana teslim edildi, ben de dilediğim kişiye veririm.
7 You, then, if You may worship me—all will be Yours.”
Bana taparsan, hepsi senin olacak.”
8 And Jesus answering him said, “[[Get behind Me, Satan, for]] it has been written: You will worship the LORD your God, and Him only you will serve.”
İsa ona şu karşılığı verdi: “‘Tanrın Rab'be tapacak, yalnız O'na kulluk edeceksin’ diye yazılmıştır.”
9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here,
İblis O'nu Yeruşalim'e götürüp tapınağın tepesine çıkardı. “Tanrı'nın Oğlu'ysan, kendini buradan aşağı at” dedi.
10 for it has been written: To His messengers He will give charge concerning you, to guard over you;
“Çünkü şöyle yazılmıştır: ‘Tanrı, seni korumaları için Meleklerine buyruk verecek.’
11 and: On hands they will bear you up, lest at any time you may dash your foot against a stone.”
‘Ayağın bir taşa çarpmasın diye Seni elleri üzerinde taşıyacaklar.’”
12 And Jesus answering said to him, “It has been said, You will not tempt the LORD your God.”
İsa ona şöyle karşılık verdi: “‘Tanrın Rab'bi denemeyeceksin!’ diye buyrulmuştur.”
13 And having ended all temptation, the Devil departed from Him until a convenient season.
İblis, İsa'yı her bakımdan denedikten sonra bir süre için O'nun yanından ayrıldı.
14 And Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the surrounding region concerning Him,
İsa, Ruh'un gücüyle donanmış olarak Celile'ye döndü. Haber bütün bölgeye yayıldı.
15 and He was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
Oranın havralarında öğretiyor, herkes tarafından övülüyordu.
16 And He came to Nazareth, where He has been brought up, and He went in, according to His custom, on the day of the Sabbaths, into the synagogue, and stood up to read;
İsa, büyüdüğü Nasıra Kenti'ne geldiğinde her zamanki gibi Şabat Günü havraya gitti. Kutsal Yazılar'ı okumak üzere ayağa kalkınca O'na Peygamber Yeşaya'nın Kitabı verildi. Kitabı açarak şu sözlerin yazılı olduğu yeri buldu:
17 and there was given over to Him a scroll of Isaiah the prophet, and having unfolded the scroll, He found the place where it has been written:
18 “The Spirit of the LORD [is] on Me, Because He anointed Me To proclaim good news to the poor, Sent Me to heal the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives deliverance, And to blind receiving of sight, To send the bruised away with deliverance,
“Rab'bin Ruhu üzerimdedir. Çünkü O beni yoksullara Müjde'yi iletmek için meshetti. Tutsaklara serbest bırakılacaklarını, Körlere gözlerinin açılacağını duyurmak için, Ezilenleri özgürlüğe kavuşturmak Ve Rab'bin lütuf yılını ilan etmek için Beni gönderdi.”
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
20 And having folded the scroll, having given [it] back to the officer, He sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing on Him.
Sonra kitabı kapattı, görevliye geri verip oturdu. Havradakilerin hepsi dikkatle O'na bakıyordu.
21 And He began to say to them, “Today this writing has been fulfilled in your ears”;
İsa, “Dinlediğiniz bu Yazı bugün yerine gelmiştir” diye konuşmaya başladı.
22 and all were bearing testimony to Him, and were wondering at the gracious words that are coming forth out of His mouth, and they said, “Is this not the Son of Joseph?”
Herkes İsa'yı övüyor, ağzından çıkan lütufkâr sözlere hayran kalıyordu. “Yusuf'un oğlu değil mi bu?” diyorlardı.
23 And He said to them, “Certainly you will say to Me this allegory, Physician, heal yourself; as great things as we heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country”;
İsa onlara şöyle dedi: “Kuşkusuz bana şu deyimi hatırlatacaksınız: ‘Ey hekim, önce kendini iyileştir! Kefarnahum'da yaptıklarını duyduk. Aynısını burada, kendi memleketinde de yap.’”
24 and He said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country;
“Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim” diye devam etti İsa, “Hiçbir peygamber kendi memleketinde kabul görmez.
25 and of a truth I say to you, many widows were in the days of Elijah, in Israel, when the sky was shut for three years and six months, when great famine came on all the land,
Yine size gerçeği söyleyeyim, gökyüzünün üç yıl altı ay kapalı kaldığı, bütün ülkede korkunç bir kıtlığın baş gösterdiği İlyas zamanında İsrail'de çok sayıda dul kadın vardı.
26 and to none of them was Elijah sent, but—to Sarepta of Sidon, to a woman, a widow;
İlyas bunlardan hiçbirine gönderilmedi; yalnız Sayda bölgesinin Sarefat Kenti'nde bulunan dul bir kadına gönderildi.
27 and many lepers were in the time of Elisha the prophet, in Israel, and none of them was cleansed, but—Naaman the Syrian.”
Peygamber Elişa'nın zamanında İsrail'de çok sayıda cüzamlı vardı. Bunlardan hiçbiri iyileştirilmedi; yalnız Suriyeli Naaman iyileştirildi.”
28 And all in the synagogue were filled with wrath, hearing these things,
Havradakiler bu sözleri duyunca öfkeden kudurdular.
29 and having risen, they put Him forth outside the city, and brought Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built—to cast Him down headlong,
Ayağa kalkıp İsa'yı kentin dışına kovdular. O'nu uçurumdan aşağı atmak için kentin kurulduğu tepenin yamacına götürdüler.
30 and He, having gone through the midst of them, went away.
Ama İsa onların arasından geçerek oradan uzaklaştı.
31 And He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths,
Sonra İsa Celile'nin Kefarnahum Kenti'ne gitti. Şabat Günü halka öğretiyordu.
32 and they were astonished at His teaching, because His word was with authority.
Yetkiyle konuştuğu için O'nun öğretişine şaşıp kaldılar.
33 And in the synagogue was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a great voice,
Havrada cinli, içinde kötü ruh olan bir adam vardı. Adam yüksek sesle, “Ey Nasıralı İsa, bırak bizi! Bizden ne istiyorsun?” diye bağırdı. “Bizi mahvetmeye mi geldin? Senin kim olduğunu biliyorum, Tanrı'nın Kutsalı'sın sen!”
34 “Aah! What [regards] us and You, Jesus, O Nazarene? You came to destroy us; I have known who You are—the Holy One of God!”
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silenced, and come forth out of him”; and the demon having cast him into the midst, came forth from him, having hurt him nothing;
İsa, “Sus, çık adamdan!” diyerek cini azarladı. Cin adamı herkesin önünde yere vurduktan sonra, ona hiç zarar vermeden içinden çıktı.
36 and amazement came on all, and they were speaking together with one another, saying, “What [is] this word, that with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come forth?”
Herkes şaşkına dönmüştü. Birbirlerine, “Bu nasıl söz? Güç ve yetkiyle kötü ruhlara çıkmalarını buyuruyor, onlar da çıkıyor!” diyorlardı.
37 And there was going forth a fame concerning Him to every place of the surrounding region.
İsa'yla ilgili haber o bölgenin her yanında yankılandı.
38 And having risen out of the synagogue, He entered into the house of Simon, and the mother-in-law of Simon was pressed with a great fever, and they asked Him about her,
İsa havradan ayrılarak Simun'un evine gitti. Simun'un kaynanası hastaydı, ateşler içindeydi. Onun için İsa'dan yardım istediler.
39 and having stood over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately, having risen, she was ministering to them.
İsa kadının başucunda durup ateşi azarladı, kadının ateşi düştü. Kadın hemen ayağa kalkıp onlara hizmet etmeye başladı.
40 And at the setting of the sun, all, as many as had any ailing with manifold diseases, brought them to Him, and He, having put hands on each one of them, healed them.
Güneş batarken herkes çeşitli hastalıklara yakalanmış akrabalarını İsa'ya getirdi. İsa her birinin üzerine ellerini koyarak onları iyileştirdi.
41 And demons were also coming forth from many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God”; and rebuking, He did not permit them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.
Birçoğunun içinden cinler de, “Sen Tanrı'nın Oğlu'sun!” diye bağırarak çıkıyordu. Ne var ki, İsa onları azarladı, konuşmalarına izin vermedi. Çünkü kendisinin Mesih olduğunu biliyorlardı.
42 And day having come, having gone forth, He went on to a desolate place, and the multitudes were seeking Him, and they came to Him, and were restraining Him—not to go on from them,
Sabah olunca İsa dışarı çıkıp ıssız bir yere gitti. Halk ise O'nu arıyordu. Bulunduğu yere geldiklerinde O'nu yanlarında alıkoymaya çalıştılar.
43 and He said to them, “Also to the other cities it is necessary for Me to proclaim good news of the Kingdom of God, because for this I have been sent”;
Ama İsa, “Öbür kentlerde de Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'yle ilgili Müjde'yi yaymam gerek” dedi. “Çünkü bunun için gönderildim.”
44 and He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
Böylece Yahudiye'deki havralarda Tanrı sözünü duyurmaya devam etti.
