Luke 4
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, turned back from the Jordan, and was brought in the Spirit into the wilderness,
| ܝܫܘܥ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܡܠܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܗܦܟ ܡܢ ܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܘܕܒܪܬܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ |
2 being tempted by the Devil forty days, and He did not eat anything in those days, and they having been ended, He afterward hungered,
| ܝܘܡܬܐ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܕܢܬܢܤܐ ܡܢ ܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܥܤ ܡܕܡ ܒܗܢܘܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܘܟܕ ܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܚܪܬܐ ܟܦܢ |
3 and the Devil said to Him, “If You are [the] Son of God, speak to this stone that it may become bread.”
| ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܐܢ ܒܪܗ ܐܢܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܟܐܦܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܠܚܡܐ |
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, “It has been written, that, Not on bread only will man live, but on every saying of God.”
| ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܟܬܝܒ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܠܚܡܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܚܝܐ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܟܠ ܦܬܓܡ ܕܐܠܗܐ |
5 And the Devil having brought Him up to a high mountain, showed to Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,
| ܘܐܤܩܗ ܤܛܢܐ ܠܛܘܪܐ ܪܡܐ ܘܚܘܝܗ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܒܥܕܢܐ ܙܥܘܪܐ |
6 and the Devil said to Him, “To You I will give all this authority, and their glory, because to me it has been delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I give it;
| ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܠܟ ܐܬܠ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܟܠܗ ܘܫܘܒܚܗ ܕܠܝ ܡܫܠܡ ܘܠܡܢ ܕܐܨܒܐ ܝܗܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ |
7 You, then, if You may worship me—all will be Yours.”
| ܐܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܤܓܘܕ ܩܕܡܝ ܕܝܠܟ ܢܗܘܐ ܟܠܗ |
8 And Jesus answering him said, “[[Get behind Me, Satan, for]] it has been written: You will worship the LORD your God, and Him only you will serve.”
| ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܟܬܝܒ ܗܘ ܕܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܬܤܓܘܕ ܘܠܗ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ ܬܦܠܘܚ |
9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here,
| ܘܐܝܬܝܗ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܐܩܝܡܗ ܥܠ ܟܢܦܐ ܕܗܝܟܠܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܢ ܒܪܗ ܐܢܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܪܡܐ ܢܦܫܟ ܡܟܐ ܠܬܚܬ |
10 for it has been written: To His messengers He will give charge concerning you, to guard over you;
| ܟܬܝܒ ܓܝܪ ܕܠܡܠܐܟܘܗܝ ܢܦܩܕ ܥܠܝܟ ܕܢܢܛܪܘܢܟ |
11 and: On hands they will bear you up, lest at any time you may dash your foot against a stone.”
| ܘܥܠ ܕܪܥܝܗܘܢ ܢܫܩܠܘܢܟ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܩܠ ܪܓܠܟ ܒܟܐܦܐ |
12 And Jesus answering said to him, “It has been said, You will not tempt the LORD your God.”
| ܥܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܡܝܪ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܬܢܤܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ |
13 And having ended all temptation, the Devil departed from Him until a convenient season.
| ܘܟܕ ܫܠܡ ܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܤܝܘܢܘܗܝ ܦܪܩ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܥܕ ܙܒܢܐ |
14 And Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the surrounding region concerning Him,
| ܘܗܦܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܠܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܢܦܩ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܛܒܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܚܕܪܝܗܘܢ |
15 and He was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
| ܘܗܘ ܡܠܦ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ ܘܡܫܬܒܚ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܐܢܫ |
16 And He came to Nazareth, where He has been brought up, and He went in, according to His custom, on the day of the Sabbaths, into the synagogue, and stood up to read;
| ܘܐܬܐ ܠܢܨܪܬ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܬܪܒܝ ܘܥܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܡܥܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܫܒܬܐ ܘܩܡ ܠܡܩܪܐ |
17 and there was given over to Him a scroll of Isaiah the prophet, and having unfolded the scroll, He found the place where it has been written:
| ܘܐܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܤܦܪܐ ܕܐܫܥܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܦܬܚ ܝܫܘܥ ܤܦܪܐ ܘܐܫܟܚ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܝܟܐ ܕܟܬܝܒ |
18 “The Spirit of the LORD [is] on Me, Because He anointed Me To proclaim good news to the poor, Sent Me to heal the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives deliverance, And to blind receiving of sight, To send the bruised away with deliverance,
| ܪܘܚܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܝ ܘܡܛܠ ܗܕܐ ܡܫܚܢܝ ܠܡܤܒܪܘ ܠܡܤܟܢܐ ܘܫܠܚܢܝ ܠܡܐܤܝܘ ܠܬܒܝܪܝ ܠܒܐ ܘܠܡܟܪܙܘ ܠܫܒܝܐ ܫܘܒܩܢܐ ܘܠܥܘܝܪܐ ܚܙܝܐ ܘܠܡܫܪܪܘ ܠܬܒܝܪܐ ܒܫܘܒܩܢܐ |
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
| ܘܠܡܟܪܙܘ ܫܢܬܐ ܡܩܒܠܬܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ |
20 And having folded the scroll, having given [it] back to the officer, He sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing on Him.
| ܘܟܪܟ ܤܦܪܐ ܘܝܗܒܗ ܠܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܘܐܙܠ ܝܬܒ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܥܝܢܝܗܘܢ ܚܝܪܢ ܗܘܝ ܒܗ |
21 And He began to say to them, “Today this writing has been fulfilled in your ears”;
| ܘܫܪܝ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܐܫܬܠܡ ܟܬܒܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܐܕܢܝܟܘܢ |
22 and all were bearing testimony to Him, and were wondering at the gracious words that are coming forth out of His mouth, and they said, “Is this not the Son of Joseph?”
| ܘܤܗܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܡܬܕܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܡܠܐ ܕܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܕܢܦܩܢ ܗܘܝ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܤܦ |
23 And He said to them, “Certainly you will say to Me this allegory, Physician, heal yourself; as great things as we heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country”;
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܟܒܪ ܬܐܡܪܘܢ ܠܝ ܡܬܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܐܤܝܐ ܐܤܐ ܢܦܫܟ ܘܟܠ ܕܫܡܥܢ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܒܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܥܒܕ ܐܦ ܗܪܟܐ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܟ |
24 and He said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country;
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܡܬܩܒܠ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܗ |
25 and of a truth I say to you, many widows were in the days of Elijah, in Israel, when the sky was shut for three years and six months, when great famine came on all the land,
| ܫܪܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܤܓܝ ܐܪܡܠܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܝ ܒܐܝܤܪܝܠ ܒܝܘܡܝ ܐܠܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܟܕ ܐܬܬܚܕܘ ܫܡܝܐ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܠܬ ܘܝܪܚܐ ܫܬܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܟܦܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܪܥܐ |
26 and to none of them was Elijah sent, but—to Sarepta of Sidon, to a woman, a widow;
| ܘܠܘܬ ܚܕܐ ܡܢܗܝܢ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܕܪ ܐܠܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܨܪܦܬ ܕܨܝܕܢ ܠܘܬ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܪܡܠܬܐ |
27 and many lepers were in the time of Elisha the prophet, in Israel, and none of them was cleansed, but—Naaman the Syrian.”
| ܘܤܓܝܐܐ ܓܪܒܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܒܝܬ ܐܝܤܪܝܠ ܒܝܘܡܝ ܐܠܝܫܥ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܬܕܟܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܢܥܡܢ ܐܪܡܝܐ |
28 And all in the synagogue were filled with wrath, hearing these things,
| ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܗܠܝܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܐܬܡܠܝܘ ܚܡܬܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ |
29 and having risen, they put Him forth outside the city, and brought Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built—to cast Him down headlong,
| ܘܩܡܘ ܐܦܩܘܗܝ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܝܬܝܘܗܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܒܝܢܐ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܕܢܫܕܘܢܝܗܝ ܡܢ ܫܩܝܦܐ |
30 and He, having gone through the midst of them, went away.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܒܪ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܙܠ |
31 And He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths,
| ܘܢܚܬ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܡܠܦ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܫܒܐ |
32 and they were astonished at His teaching, because His word was with authority.
| ܘܬܡܝܗܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܝܘܠܦܢܗ ܕܡܫܠܛܐ ܗܘܬ ܡܠܬܗ |
33 And in the synagogue was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a great voice,
| ܘܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܫܐܕܐ ܛܢܦܐ ܘܙܥܩ ܒܩܠܐ ܪܡܐ |
34 “Aah! What [regards] us and You, Jesus, O Nazarene? You came to destroy us; I have known who You are—the Holy One of God!”
| ܘܐܡܪ ܫܒܘܩܝܢܝ ܡܐ ܠܢ ܘܠܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܢܨܪܝܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܡܘܒܕܘܬܢ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܐܢܬ ܩܕܝܫܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ |
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silenced, and come forth out of him”; and the demon having cast him into the midst, came forth from him, having hurt him nothing;
| ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܤܟܘܪ ܦܘܡܟ ܘܦܘܩ ܡܢܗ ܘܫܕܝܗܝ ܫܐܕܐ ܒܡܨܥܬܐ ܘܢܦܩ ܡܢܗ ܟܕ ܠܐ ܤܪܚ ܒܗ ܡܕܡ |
36 and amazement came on all, and they were speaking together with one another, saying, “What [is] this word, that with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come forth?”
| ܘܬܡܗܐ ܪܒܐ ܐܚܕ ܠܟܠܢܫ ܘܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܡ ܚܕܕܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܟܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܒܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܘܒܚܝܠܐ ܦܩܕܐ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܘܢܦܩܢ |
37 And there was going forth a fame concerning Him to every place of the surrounding region.
| ܘܢܦܩ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܛܒܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܚܕܪܝܗܘܢ |
38 And having risen out of the synagogue, He entered into the house of Simon, and the mother-in-law of Simon was pressed with a great fever, and they asked Him about her,
| ܘܟܕ ܢܦܩ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܢ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܥܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܚܡܬܗ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܐܠܝܨܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܐܫܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܘܒܥܘ ܡܢܗ ܡܛܠܬܗ |
39 and having stood over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately, having risen, she was ministering to them.
| ܘܩܡ ܠܥܠ ܡܢܗ ܘܟܐܐ ܒܐܫܬܗ ܘܫܒܩܬܗ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܩܡܬ ܘܡܫܡܫܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܗܘܢ |
40 And at the setting of the sun, all, as many as had any ailing with manifold diseases, brought them to Him, and He, having put hands on each one of them, healed them.
| ܡܥܪܒܝ ܫܡܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܪܝܗܐ ܕܟܪܝܗܝܢ ܒܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܡܫܚܠܦܐ ܐܝܬܝܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܥܠ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܤܐܡ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܐܤܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ |
41 And demons were also coming forth from many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God”; and rebuking, He did not permit them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.
| ܘܢܦܩܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܐܦ ܫܐܕܐ ܡܢ ܤܓܝܐܐ ܟܕ ܡܙܥܩܝܢ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܟܐܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ |
42 And day having come, having gone forth, He went on to a desolate place, and the multitudes were seeking Him, and they came to Him, and were restraining Him—not to go on from them,
| ܘܠܨܦܪܗ ܕܝܘܡܐ ܢܦܩ ܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܟܢܫܐ ܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܘܐܬܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܐܚܕܘܗܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗܘܢ |
43 and He said to them, “Also to the other cities it is necessary for Me to proclaim good news of the Kingdom of God, because for this I have been sent”;
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܐܦ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܝ ܠܡܤܒܪܘ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܠ ܗܕܐ ܗܘ ܐܫܬܕܪܬ |
44 and He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
| ܘܗܘ ܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ |
