Luke 3
1 And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar—Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip, tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
൧തിബര്യാസ് കൈസരുടെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ പതിനഞ്ചാം വർഷത്തിൽ, പൊന്തിയൊസ് പീലാത്തോസ് യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ ഗവർണ്ണർ ആയിരുന്നു. ഹെരോദാവ് ഗലീലയിലും, അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ഇതുര്യ, ത്രഖോനിത്തി ദേശങ്ങളിലും, ലുസാന്യാസ് അബിലേനയിലും ഇടപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു.
2 [and] Annas and Caiaphas being chief priests—there came a word of God to John the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness,
൨അന്നത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരായ ഹന്നാവിന്റേയും കയ്യഫാവിന്റേയും കാലത്തായിരുന്നു സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹന്നാന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽവച്ച് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട് ഉണ്ടായത്.
3 and he came to all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming an immersion of conversion for forgiveness of sins,
൩അവൻ യോർദ്ദാനരികെയുള്ള നാട്ടിൽ ഒക്കെയും ചെന്ന് പാപമോചനത്തിനായുള്ള മാനസാന്തരസ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
4 as it has been written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD, Make His paths straight;
൪“മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദമാണിത്: കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിൻ; അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിൻ.
5 Every valley will be filled, And every mountain and hill will be made low, And the crooked will become straightness, And the rough become smooth ways;
൫എല്ലാ താഴ്‌വരകളും നികന്നുവരും; എല്ലാ മലയും കുന്നും താഴുകയും നിരപ്പാവുകയും ചെയ്യും; വളഞ്ഞതു നേരെയാവുകയും ദുർഘടമായത് നിരന്ന വഴിയായും തീരും;
6 And all flesh will see the salvation of God.”
൬സകലമനുഷ്യരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷയെ കാണും” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
7 Then he said to the multitudes coming forth to be immersed by him, “Brood of vipers! Who prompted you to flee from the coming wrath?
൭തന്നിൽ നിന്നു സ്നാനം ഏൽക്കുവാൻ വന്ന പുരുഷാരത്തോട് യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞത്: വിഷമുള്ള പാമ്പുകളെ പോലെ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരാണു നിങ്ങൾ. വരുവാനുള്ള കോപത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധ്യമല്ല.
8 Make, therefore, fruits worthy of conversion, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have a father—Abraham; for I say to you that God is able to raise children to Abraham out of these stones;
൮മാനസാന്തരത്തിന് യോഗ്യമായ ഫലം കായ്പിൻ. അബ്രാഹാം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പിതാവായിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നു അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ ശിക്ഷാവിധിയിൽ നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാൻ സാധ്യമല്ല; കാരണം അബ്രാഹാമിന് ഈ കല്ലുകളിൽ നിന്നു മക്കളെ ഉല്പാദിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ ദൈവത്തിന് കഴിയും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
9 and also the axe is already laid to the root of the trees, every tree, therefore, not making good fruit is cut down, and it is cast into fire.”
൯വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ ചുവട്ടിന് കോടാലി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ പോലെയാകുന്നു ദൈവം; നല്ലഫലം കായ്ക്കാത്ത വൃക്ഷം എല്ലാം വെട്ടി തീയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയുന്നു.
10 And the multitudes were questioning him, saying, “What, then, will we do?”
൧൦എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പുരുഷാരം അവനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
11 And he answering says to them, “He having two coats, let him impart to him having none; and he having food, let him do in like manner.”
൧൧അതിന് ഉത്തരമായി അവൻ: രണ്ടു വസ്ത്രമുള്ളവൻ ഇല്ലാത്തവന് കൊടുക്കട്ടെ; ഭക്ഷണസാധനങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവനും തന്നെ ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
12 And there also came tax collectors to be immersed, and they said to him, “Teacher, what will we do?”
൧൨ചുങ്കക്കാരും സ്നാനം ഏൽക്കുവാൻ വന്നു: ഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തുചെയ്യണം എന്നു അവനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
13 And he said to them, “Exact no more than that directed you.”
൧൩നിങ്ങളോടു റോമാ ഭരണകൂടം കല്പിച്ചതിൽ അധികം ഒന്നും പിരിക്കരുത് എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
14 And also questioning him were those warring, saying, “And we, what will we do?” And he said to them, “Do violence to no one, nor accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”
൧൪പടയാളികൾ അവനോട്: ഞങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് എന്ത് പറയുന്നു? ഞങ്ങൾ എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്: ആരെയും നിര്‍ബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു പണം വാങ്ങരുത്. ആരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും ചതിവായി ഒന്നും വാങ്ങരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ശമ്പളം കൊണ്ട് തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുക എന്നു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
15 And the people are looking forward, and all are reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether or not he may be the Christ;
൧൫എന്നാൽ ജനമെല്ലാം ക്രിസ്തു വരുമെന്നു പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ ക്രിസ്തുവോ എന്നു എല്ലാവരും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ച് വിചാരിച്ചു.
16 John answered, saying to all, “I indeed immerse you in water, but He comes who is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to loose the strap of His sandals—He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire;
൧൬യോഹന്നാൻ എല്ലാവരോടും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളംകൊണ്ട് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ എന്നിലും ബലവാനായവൻ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറ് അഴിക്കുവാൻ പോലും എനിക്ക് യോഗ്യതയില്ല; അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടും തീകൊണ്ടും സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും.
17 whose winnowing shovel [is] in His hand, and He will thoroughly cleanse His floor, and will gather the wheat into His storehouse, and He will burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
൧൭അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ വീശുമുറം ഉണ്ട്; അവൻ കളത്തെ മുഴുവനും വൃത്തിയാക്കി ഗോതമ്പു കളപ്പുരയിൽ ശേഖരിച്ചുവെക്കുകയും പതിർ കെടാത്ത തീയിൽ ഇട്ട് ചുട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യും.
18 And therefore, indeed, with many other things, exhorting, he was proclaiming good news to the people,
൧൮ഇതുപോലെ മറ്റുപല ഉപദേശങ്ങളാൽ അവൻ ജനത്തോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു.
19 and Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him concerning Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, and concerning all the evils that Herod did,
൧൯എന്നാൽ ഇടപ്രഭുവായ ഹെരോദാവ് സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യ ഹെരോദ്യയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തതിനാലും മറ്റുപല ദോഷങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തതിനാലും യോഹന്നാൻ അവനെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി.
20 added also this to all, that he shut up John in the prison.
൨൦അതിനാൽ ഹെരോദാവ് അവനെ തടവിൽ ആക്കി.
21 And it came to pass, in all the people being immersed, Jesus also being immersed, and praying, Heaven was opened,
൨൧അങ്ങനെ യോഹന്നാനോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജനം എല്ലാം സ്നാനം ഏറ്റുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോൾ യേശുവും സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു. യേശു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗം തുറന്നു,
22 and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily appearance, as if a dove, on Him, and a voice came out of Heaven, saying, “You are My Son, the Beloved, in You I delighted.”
൨൨പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് പ്രാവിന്റെ രൂപത്തിൽ അവന്റെമേൽ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു. നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ; നിന്നിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.
23 And Jesus Himself was beginning to be about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, Son of Joseph,
൨൩യേശു തന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷ ആരംഭിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഏകദേശം മുപ്പത് വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അവൻ യോസഫിന്റെ മകൻ എന്നു ജനം വിചാരിച്ചു;
24 the [son] of Eli, the [son] of Matthat, the [son] of Levi, the [son] of Melchi, the [son] of Janna, the [son] of Joseph,

25 the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Amos, the [son] of Nahum, the [son] of Esli,

26 the [son] of Naggai, the [son] of Maath, the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Semei, the [son] of Joseph, the [son] of Judah,
൨൬നഗ്ഗായി മയാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ, മയാത്ത് മത്തഥ്യൊസിന്റെ മകൻ, മത്തഥ്യൊസ് ശെമയിയുടെ മകൻ, ശെമയി യോസഫിന്റെ മകൻ, യോസഫ് യോദയുടെ മകൻ,
27 the [son] of Joanna, the [son] of Rhesa, the [son] of Zerubbabel, the [son] of Shealtiel,
൨൭യോദാ യോഹന്നാന്റെ മകൻ, യോഹന്നാൻ രേസയുടെ മകൻ, രേസ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിന്റെ മകൻ, സൊരൊബാബേൽ ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകൻ, ശെയല്തീയേൽ നേരിയുടെ മകൻ,
28 the [son] of Neri, the [son] of Melchi, the [son] of Addi, the [son] of Cosam, the [son] of Elmodam, the [son] of Er,
൨൮നേരി മെൽക്കിയുടെ മകൻ, മെൽക്കി അദ്ദിയുടെ മകൻ, അദ്ദി കോസാമിന്റെ മകൻ, കോസാം എല്മാദാമിന്റെ മകൻ, എല്മാദാം ഏരിന്റെ മകൻ,
29 the [son] of Jose, the [son] of Eliezer, the [son] of Jorim, the [son] of Matthat,
൨൯ഏർ യോശുവിന്റെ മകൻ, യോശു എലീയേസരിന്റെ മകൻ, എലീയേസർ യോരീമിന്റെ മകൻ, യോരീം മത്ഥാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ, മത്ഥാത്ത് ലേവിയുടെ മകൻ,
30 the [son] of Levi, the [son] of Simeon, the [son] of Judah, the [son] of Joseph, the [son] of Jonan, the [son] of Eliakim,
൩൦ലേവി ശിമ്യോന്റെ മകൻ, ശിമ്യോൻ യെഹൂദയുടെ മകൻ, യെഹൂദാ യോസഫിന്റെ മകൻ, യോസഫ് യോനാമിന്റെ മകൻ, യോനാം എല്യാക്കീമിന്റെ മകൻ,
31 the [son] of Melea, the [son] of Mainan, the [son] of Mattatha, the [son] of Nathan,

32 the [son] of David, the [son] of Jesse, the [son] of Obed, the [son] of Boaz, the [son] of Salmon, the [son] of Nahshon,
൩൨ദാവീദ് യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകൻ, യിശ്ശായി ഓബേദിന്റെ മകൻ, ഓബേദ് ബോവസിന്റെ മകൻ, ബോവസ് സല്മോന്റെ മകൻ, സല്മോൻ നഹശോന്റെ മകൻ,
33 the [son] of Amminadab, the [son] of Aram, the [son] of Esrom, the [son] of Perez,

34 the [son] of Judah, the [son] of Jacob, the [son] of Isaac, the [son] of Abraham, the [son] of Terah, the [son] of Nahor,
൩൪യെഹൂദാ യാക്കോബിന്റെ മകൻ, യാക്കോബ് യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ മകൻ, യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകൻ, അബ്രാഹാം തേരഹിന്റെ മകൻ,
35 the [son] of Serug, the [son] of Reu, the [son] of Peleg, the [son] of Eber,

36 the [son] of Salah, the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Arphaxad, the [son] of Shem, the [son] of Noah, the [son] of Lamech,
൩൬കയിനാൻ അർഫക്സാദിന്റെ മകൻ, അർഫക്സാദ് ശേമിന്റെ മകൻ, ശേം നോഹയുടെ മകൻ, നോഹ ലാമേക്കിന്റെ മകൻ,
37 the [son] of Methuselah, the [son] of Enoch, the [son] of Jared, the [son] of Mahalaleel,

38 the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Enos, the [son] of Seth, the [son] of Adam, the [son] of God.
