< Luke 24 >

1 And on the first [day] of the weeks, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, carrying the spices they made ready, and certain [others] with them,
ⲁ̅ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲑⲟⲓ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧⲟⲩ.
2 and they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb,
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩϫⲓⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲱⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩ⳿ⲥⲕⲉⲣⲕⲱⲣϥ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ.
3 and having gone in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
ⲅ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅.
4 And it came to pass, while they are perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in clothing—flashing [with light];
ⲇ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲁⲡⲟⲣⲓⲥⲑⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲥⲁ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϩⲉⲃⲥⲱ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲥⲉⲧⲉⲃⲣⲏϫ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
5 and on their having become afraid, and having inclined the face to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living with the dead?
ⲉ̅ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲟϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲟ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲓⲣⲉϥⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.
6 He is not here, but was raised; remember how He spoke to you, being yet in Galilee,
ⲋ̅⳿ⲛ⳿ϥⲭⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲫⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉϥϧⲉⲛ ϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉ⳿ⲁ.
7 saying, It is necessary for the Son of Man to be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to rise again [on] the third day.”
ⲍ̅ϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉⲛϫⲓϫ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉⲁϣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲅ̅ ⲛ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ.
8 And they remembered His sayings,
ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣ⳿ⲫⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲁϫⲓ.
9 and having turned back from the tomb, told all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest.
ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲡⲓⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲓⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
10 And it was Mary the Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles,
ⲓ̅ⲛⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲓⲛⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲙⲁⲣⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲉⲑⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲏ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ.
11 and their sayings appeared before them as idle talk, and they were not believing them.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲃϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ.
12 And Peter having risen, ran to the tomb, and having stooped down he sees the linen clothes lying alone, and he went away to his own home, wondering at that having come to pass.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲁϥϭⲟϫⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲉϥⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ.
13 And behold, two of them were going on during that day to a village, being sixty stadia distant from Jerusalem, the name of which [is] Emmaus,
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲁ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩϯⲙⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⲁⲩ ⲝ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲧⲁⲇⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲣⲁⲛ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲟⲩⲥ.
14 and they were conversing with one another about all these things that have happened.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ.
15 And it came to pass in their conversing and reasoning together, that Jesus Himself, having come near, was going on with them,
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ϩⲱϥ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
16 and their eyes were restrained so as not to know Him,
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲁⲩ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ.
17 and He said to them, “What [are] these words that you exchange with one another, walking, and you are sad?”
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲕⲉⲙ.
18 And one, whose name was Cleopas, answering, said to Him, “Are You alone visiting Jerusalem and have not known the things having come to pass in it in these days?”
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲕⲗⲉⲟⲡⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲕ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲕ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏ ⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ.
19 And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who became a man—a prophet—powerful in deed and word, before God and all the people,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓⲣⲉⲙⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲉⲑ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ϣϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
20 how also the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him up to a judgment of death, and crucified Him;
ⲕ̅ϩⲱⲥⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲁⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲁϣϥ.
21 and we were hoping that it is He who is about to redeem Israel, and also with all these things, this third day is passing today since these things happened.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲥⲱϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲁϩⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ.
22 And certain of our women also astonished us, coming early to the tomb,
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉϩⲓ⳿ⲟⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ.
23 and having not found His body, they came, saying to have also seen an apparition of messengers who say He is alive,
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ϥⲟⲛϧ.
24 and certain of those with us went away to the tomb, and found [it] so, even as the women said, and they did not see Him.”
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⲩϫⲓⲙⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲓⲕⲉϩⲓ⳿ⲟⲙⲓ ϫⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
25 And He said to them, “O inconsiderate and slow in heart to believe on all that the prophets spoke!
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲱ ⲛⲓⲁⲛⲟⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲟⲥⲕ ⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ.
26 Was it not necessary [for] the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?”
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲙⲏ ⲛⲁⲥⲭⲏ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲑⲣⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲉ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥⲱⲟⲩ.
27 And having begun from Moses, and from all the Prophets, He was expounding to them in all the Writings the things about Himself.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥⲉⲣⲙⲏ ⲛⲉⲩⲓⲛ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲏ ⲧϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧϥ.
28 And they came near to the village to where they were going, and He made an appearance of going on further,
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϧⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓϯⲙⲓ ⲉⲛⲁⲩⲛⲁϣⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϥⲙⲟϣⲓ.
29 and they constrained Him, saying, “Remain with us, for it is toward evening,” and the day declined, and He went in to remain with them.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲣⲟⲩϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲇⲏ ⲁϥⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲟϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
30 And it came to pass, in His reclining with them, having taken the bread, He blessed, and having broken, He was giving to them,
ⲗ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲣⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲓⲕ ⲁϥ⳿ⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲫⲁϣϥ ⲛⲁϥϯ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ.
31 and their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, and He became unseen by them.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲁⲑⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
32 And they said to one another, “Was our heart not burning within us as He was speaking to us in the way, and as He was opening the Writings up to us?”
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲣⲟⲕϩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲥ ⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ ϩⲓ ⲡⲓⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
33 And they, having risen up the same hour, turned back to Jerusalem, and found the Eleven gathered together, and those with them,
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⳿ⲉⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲙⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲩⲑⲟⲩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
34 saying, “The Lord was indeed raised, and was seen by Simon”;
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⳿ⲉⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ.
35 and they were expounding the things in the way, and how He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread,
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲫⲱϣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲓⲕ.
36 and as they are speaking these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and says to them, “Peace to you”;
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲏϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
37 and being amazed, and becoming frightened, they were thinking themselves to see a spirit.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲁⲩ⳿ϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲟϯ ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do reasonings come up in your hearts?
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲣⲑⲱⲣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ.
39 See My hands and My feet, that I am He; handle Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see Me having.”
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲁϫⲓϫ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ϫⲟⲙϫⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉϥ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϩⲓ ⲕⲁⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ.
40 And having said this, He showed the hands and the feet to them,
ⲙ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟϥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϥϫⲓϫ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ.
41 and while they are not believing from the joy, and wondering, He said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲙⲁ.
42 And they gave to Him part of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb,
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲩⲧⲉⲃⲧ ⲉϥϫⲉϥϫⲱϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲗϩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉⲃⲓⲱ.
43 and having taken, He ate before them,
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲙ.
44 and He said to them, “These [are] the words that I spoke to you, being yet with you, that it is necessary to be fulfilled all the things that are written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, about Me.”
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲁⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲓⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲓ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲯⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧ.
45 Then He opened up their understanding to understand the Writings,
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲕⲁϯ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ.
46 and He said to them, “Thus it has been written, and thus it was necessary [for] the Christ to suffer, and to rise out of the dead [on] the third day,
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ϫⲉ ⲥ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲑⲣⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϣⲉⲡ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ.
47 and conversion and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in His Name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem:
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲟⲩϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓ⳿ⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲭⲁ ⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲓⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲙ̅.
48 and you are witnesses of these things.
