Luke 23
1 And having risen, the whole multitude of them led Him to Pilate,
౧అప్పుడు వారంతా కలసి ఆయనను పిలాతు దగ్గరికి తీసుకువెళ్ళారు.
2 and began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this One perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying Himself to be Christ, a king.”
౨“ఇతడు మా ప్రజలను తిరుగుబాటుకు ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్నాడు. సీజరుకి పన్ను చెల్లించ వద్దనీ తాను క్రీస్తు అనే రాజుననీ ఇతడు చెబుతుంటే విన్నాము” అని ఆయన మీద నేరారోపణ చేశారు.
3 And Pilate questioned Him, saying, “You are the King of the Jews?” And He answering him, said, “You say [it].”
౩అప్పుడు పిలాతు, “నువ్వు యూదుల రాజువా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు. దానికి ఆయన, “నువ్వే అంటున్నావు కదా” అన్నాడు.
4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitude, “I find no fault in this Man”;
౪పిలాతు ప్రధాన యాజకులతోనూ, జనంతోనూ, “ఈ వ్యక్తిలో నాకు ఎలాంటి దోషమూ కనిపించడం లేదు,” అన్నాడు.
5 and they were the more urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judea—having begun from Galilee—to this place.”
౫అయితే వారు, “ఇతడు గలిలయ నుండి ఇక్కడ వరకూ యూదయ దేశమంతా ప్రచారం చేస్తూ ప్రజలను రెచ్చగొడుతున్నాడు” అని మరింత తీవ్రంగా నొక్కి చెప్పారు.
6 And Pilate having heard of Galilee, questioned if the Man is a Galilean,
౬పిలాతు ఈ మాట విని, “ఇతడు గలిలయ ప్రాంతం వాడా?” అని అడిగాడు.
7 and having known that He is from the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent Him back to Herod, he also being in Jerusalem in those days.
౭ఆయన హేరోదు అధికారం కింద ఉన్న ప్రదేశానికి చెందినవాడని తెలియగానే ఆయనను హేరోదు దగ్గరికి పంపించాడు. ఆ రోజుల్లో హేరోదు యెరూషలేములోనే ఉన్నాడు.
8 And Herod rejoiced exceedingly having seen Jesus, for he was wishing to see Him for a long [time], because of hearing many things about Him, and he was hoping to see some sign done by Him,
౮హేరోదు యేసును చూసి ఎంతో సంతోషించాడు. ఆయనను గురించి అతడు ఎన్నో విషయాలు విని ఉన్నాడు. ఎంతో కాలంగా ఆయనను చూడాలని ఆశిస్తున్నాడు. ఆయన ఏదైనా ఒక అద్భుతం చేస్తే చూడాలని కూడా ఆశిస్తున్నాడు.
9 and was questioning Him in many words, and He answered him nothing.
౯హేరోదు ఆయనను ఎన్నో ప్రశ్నలు వేశాడు కానీ ఆయన అతనికి జవాబేమీ ఇవ్వలేదు.
10 And the chief priests and the scribes stood vehemently accusing Him,
౧౦ముఖ్య యాజకులూ ధర్మశాస్త్ర పండితులూ అక్కడే నిలబడి ఆయన మీద తీవ్రమైన ఆరోపణలు చేశారు.
11 and Herod with his soldiers having set Him at nothing, and having mocked, having cast radiant apparel around Him, sent Him back to Pilate,
౧౧హేరోదు తన సైనికులతో కలిసి, ఆయనను అవమానించి, అపహసించి, ఆయనకు ప్రశస్తమైన వస్త్రాన్ని తొడిగించి తిరిగి పిలాతు దగ్గరికి పంపించాడు.
12 and both Pilate and Herod became friends with one another on that day, for they were previously at enmity between themselves.
౧౨అంతకు ముందు హేరోదూ, పిలాతూ శత్రువులుగా ఉండేవారు. కానీ ఆ రోజు వారిద్దరూ స్నేహితులయ్యారు.
13 And Pilate having called together the chief priests, and the rulers, and the people,
౧౩అప్పుడు పిలాతు ముఖ్య యాజకులనూ అధికారులనూ ప్రజలనూ పిలిపించాడు.
14 said to them, “You brought this Man to me as perverting the people, and behold, I having examined [Him] before you, found no fault in this Man in those things you bring forward against Him;
౧౪“ప్రజలు తిరగబడేలా చేస్తున్నాడంటూ మీరు ఈ వ్యక్తిని నా దగ్గరికి తీసుకువచ్చారు కదా. మీ ముందే నేను ఇతణ్ణి ప్రశ్నించాను. కానీ మీరితని మీద మోపిన నేరాల్లో ఒక్కటి కూడా నాకు నిజమనిపించడం లేదు.
15 no, neither Herod, for he sent Him back to us, and behold, nothing worthy of death is having been done by Him;
౧౫హేరోదుకు కూడా ఏ దోషమూ కనిపించలేదు. హేరోదు ఇతణ్ణి నా దగ్గరకే తిరిగి పంపాడు కదా. మరణ శిక్షకు తగిన నేరమేదీ ఇతడు చేయలేదు.
16 having corrected, therefore, I will release Him,”
౧౬అందుచేత నేనితణ్ణి శిక్షించి విడుదల చేస్తాను” అన్నాడు.
17 [[for it was necessary for him to release to them one at every celebration, ]]
౧౭పండగ సమయంలో పిలాతు ప్రజల కోసం ఒక ఖైదీని విడుదల చేయడం వాడుక.
18 and they cried out—the whole multitude—saying, “Away with this One, and release Barabbas to us,”
౧౮అయితే వారంతా, “వీణ్ణి చంపి మాకు బరబ్బను విడుదల చెయ్యండి” అని ఒక్కపెట్టున కేకలు వేశారు.
19 who had been cast into prison, because of a certain sedition made in the city, and murder.
౧౯బరబ్బ పట్టణంలో జరిగిన ఒక తిరుగుబాటు, హత్యానేరాలకై చెరసాలలో ఉన్నాడు.
20 Pilate again then—wishing to release Jesus—called to them,
౨౦పిలాతు యేసును విడుదల చేయాలని ఆశించి వారితో మళ్ళీ మాట్లాడాడు.
21 but they were calling out, saying, “Crucify! Crucify Him!”
౨౧కాని వారంతా, “వీణ్ణి సిలువ వేయాలి, సిలువ వేయాలి” అని మరింతగా కేకలు వేశారు.
22 And he said to them a third time, “Why, what evil did He do? I found no cause of death in Him; having corrected Him, then, I will release [Him].”
౨౨మూడవ సారి అతడు, “ఎందుకు? ఇతడేమి దుర్మార్గం చేశాడు? ఇతనిలో మరణ శిక్షకు తగిన నేరమేదీ నాకు కనపడలేదు. అందుచేత ఇతణ్ణి శిక్షించి వదిలేస్తాను” అన్నాడు.
23 And they were pressing with loud voices asking Him to be crucified, and their voices, and those of the chief priests, were prevailing,
౨౩కాని వారంతా పట్టుబట్టి పెద్దగా కేకలు వేసి, “వీణ్ణి సిలువ వేయండి” అని అరిచారు. చివరికి వారి కేకలే గెలిచాయి.
24 and Pilate gave judgment for their request being done,
౨౪వారు కోరినట్టే జరగాలని పిలాతు తీర్పు తీర్చాడు.
25 and he released him who because of sedition and murder has been cast into the prison, whom they were asking for, and he gave up Jesus to their will.
౨౫వారు కోరినట్టే తిరుగుబాటు, హత్యానేరాలకై చెరసాలలో ఉన్నవాణ్ణి విడుదల చేసి, యేసును వారికిష్టం వచ్చినట్టు చేయడానికి వారికి అప్పగించాడు.
26 And as they led Him away, having taken hold on Simon, a certain Cyrenian, coming from the field, they put the cross on him to carry [it] behind Jesus.
౨౬వారాయన్ని తీసుకు వెళ్ళిపోతూ ఉన్నప్పుడు పల్లెటూరి నుండి వస్తున్న కురేనీ ప్రాంతానికి చెందిన సీమోను అనే వ్యక్తిని పట్టుకుని, యేసు వెంటే సిలువ మోయడానికి దాన్ని అతని మీద పెట్టారు.
27 And a great multitude of the people were following Him, and of women, who also were beating themselves and lamenting Him,
౨౭పెద్ద జనసమూహం, ఆయనను గురించి రొమ్ము కొట్టుకుంటూ దుఃఖిస్తున్న చాలమంది స్త్రీలూ ఆయనను వెంబడించారు.
28 and Jesus having turned to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children;
౨౮యేసు వారివైపు తిరిగి, “యెరూషలేము స్త్రీలారా, నా కోసం ఏడవవద్దు. మీ కోసం, మీ పిల్లల కోసం ఏడవండి.
29 for behold, days come in which they will say, Blessed the barren, and wombs that did not bear, and breasts that did not give suck;
౨౯వినండి, ‘గొడ్రాళ్ళు ధన్యులు, కనని గర్భాలూ పాలియ్యని స్తనాలూ ధన్యం’ అని చెప్పే రోజులు వస్తున్నాయి.
30 then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us, and to the hills, Cover us;
౩౦అప్పుడు ‘మా మీద పడండి’ అని పర్వతాలతో, ‘మమ్మల్ని కప్పివేయండి’ అని కొండలతో ప్రజలు చెప్పడం మొదలుపెడతారు.
31 for if they do these things in the green tree, what may happen in the dry?”
౩౧చెట్టు పచ్చిగా ఉన్నప్పుడే వారు ఇలా చేస్తే ఇక ఎండిన దానికేం చేస్తారో” అని చెప్పాడు.
32 And there were also others—two evildoers—with Him, to be put to death;
౩౨ఇద్దరు నేరస్తులను ఆయనతో బాటు చంపడానికి తీసుకు వచ్చారు.
33 and when they came to the place that is called “[Place] of [the] Skull,” there they crucified Him and the evildoers, one on the right hand and one on the left.
౩౩వారు కపాలం అనే చోటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అక్కడ వారాయన్ని సిలువ వేశారు. ఆ నేరస్తుల్లో ఒకణ్ణి ఆయనకు కుడి వైపున, మరొకణ్ణి ఎడమవైపున ఆయనతోబాటు సిలువ వేశారు.
34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they have not known what they do”; and parting His garments they cast a lot.
౩౪అప్పుడు యేసు, “తండ్రీ, వీళ్ళేం చేస్తున్నారో వీళ్ళకి తెలియదు. కాబట్టి వీళ్ళను క్షమించు” అని చెప్పాడు. వారు ఆయన బట్టలు పంచుకోడానికి చీట్లు వేసుకున్నారు.
35 And the people were standing, looking on, and the rulers were also sneering with them, saying, “He saved others, let Him save Himself, if this be the Christ, the Chosen One of God.”
౩౫ప్రజలు నిలబడి ఇదంతా చూస్తున్నారు. అధికారులు, “వీడు ఇతరులను రక్షించాడు. వీడు దేవుడేర్పరచుకున్న క్రీస్తు అయితే తనను తాను రక్షించుకోవాలి” అంటూ ఎగతాళి చేశారు.
36 And the soldiers were also mocking Him, coming near and offering vinegar to Him,
౩౬ఇక సైనికులు కూడా ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చి ఆయనకు పులిసిపోయిన ద్రాక్షారసం ఇవ్వబోతూ
37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”
౩౭“నువ్వు యూదుల రాజువైతే నిన్ను నువ్వే రక్షించుకో” అని ఆయనను వెక్కిరించారు.
38 And there was also an inscription written over Him [[in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew]]: “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
౩౮“ఇతడు యూదుల రాజు” అని ఒక చెక్కపై రాసి ఆయనకు పైగా ఉంచారు.
39 And one of the evildoers who were hanged was slandering Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
౩౯వేలాడుతున్న ఆ నేరస్థుల్లో ఒకడు ఆయనను దూషిస్తూ, “నువ్వు నిజంగా క్రీస్తువైతే నిన్ను నువ్వు రక్షించుకుని మమ్మల్ని కూడా రక్షించు” అన్నాడు.
40 And the other answering, was rebuking him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, that you are in the same judgment?
౪౦కాని రెండోవాడు వాణ్ణి చీవాట్లు పెట్టాడు. “నువ్వూ అదే శిక్ష అనుభవిస్తున్నావు కదా. దేవునికి భయపడవా?
41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving back [things] worthy of what we did, but this One did nothing out of place”;
౪౧మనకైతే ఇది న్యాయమే. మనం చేసిన వాటికి తగిన ప్రతిఫలం పొందుతున్నాం. కానీ ఈయన ఏ తప్పూ చేయలేదు” అన్నాడు.
42 and he said to Jesus, “Remember me, Lord, when You may come in Your kingdom”;
౪౨తరువాత ఆయనను చూసి, “యేసూ, నువ్వు నీ రాజ్యంలో ప్రవేశించేటప్పుడు నన్ను జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకో” అన్నాడు.
43 and Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
౪౩అందుకాయన వాడితో, “ఈ రోజు నువ్వు నాతో కూడా పరలోకంలో ఉంటావని నీతో కచ్చితంగా చెబుతున్నాను” అన్నాడు.
44 And it was, as it were, the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour,
౪౪అప్పుడు సుమారుగా మధ్యాహ్నమైంది. మూడు గంటల వరకూ ఆ దేశమంతటి మీదా చీకటి అలముకుంది.
45 and the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle,
౪౫సూర్యుడు అంతర్థానమయ్యాడు. దేవాలయంలో గర్భాలయం తెర రెండుగా చిరిగిపోయింది.
46 and having cried with a loud voice, Jesus said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit”; now having said this, He breathed His last.
౪౬అప్పుడు యేసు పెద్ద స్వరంతో కేకవేసి, “తండ్రీ, నీ చేతికి నా ఆత్మను అప్పగిస్తున్నాను.” అన్నాడు. ఆయన ఈ విధంగా చెప్పి ప్రాణం విడిచాడు.
47 And the centurion having seen what was done, glorified God, saying, “Truly this Man was righteous”;
౪౭శతాధిపతి జరిగిందంతా చూసి, “ఈ వ్యక్తి నిజంగా నీతిపరుడే” అని చెప్పి దేవుణ్ణి కీర్తించాడు.
48 and all the multitudes having come together to this sight, beholding the things that came to pass, turned back striking their breasts;
౪౮ఈ దృశ్యం చూడడానికి సమకూడిన ప్రజలు జరిగిందంతా చూసి గుండెలు బాదుకుంటూ తిరిగి వెళ్ళారు.
49 and all His acquaintances stood far off, and women who followed Him from Galilee, beholding these things.
౪౯ఆయనతో పరిచయమున్న వారూ, గలిలయ నుండి ఆయనను అనుసరించిన స్త్రీలూ దూరంగా నిలబడి చూస్తున్నారు.
50 And behold, a man, by name Joseph, being a counselor, a man good and righteous,
౫౦యూదుల మహాసభలో యోసేపు అనే వ్యక్తి ఉన్నాడు. ఇతడు అరిమతయి ఊరివాడు. మంచివాడు, నీతిపరుడు.
51 from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who also himself was expecting the Kingdom of God, he was not consenting to their counsel and deed,
౫౧మహాసభ చేసిన తీర్మానానికి ఇతడు సమ్మతించలేదు. ఇతడు దేవుని రాజ్యం కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తూ ఉన్నాడు.
52 he having gone near to Pilate, asked for the body of Jesus,
౫౨అతడు పిలాతు దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి, యేసు శరీరాన్ని తనకిమ్మని అడిగాడు.
53 and having taken it down, he wrapped it in fine linen, and placed it in a hewn out tomb, where no one was yet laid.
౫౩తరువాత ఆయన శరీరాన్ని సిలువపైనుండి దించి, సన్న నారబట్టతో చుట్టి, తొలిచిన ఒక రాతి సమాధిలో ఉంచాడు. ఆ సమాధిలో ఎవరి దేహాన్నీ అంతకు ముందు ఎప్పుడూ ఉంచలేదు.
54 And it was [the] Day of Preparation, and Sabbath was approaching,
౫౪అది సిద్ధపడే రోజు. విశ్రాంతి దినం మొదలు కాబోతూ ఉంది.
55 and the women who also have come with Him out of Galilee having followed after, beheld the tomb, and how His body was placed,
౫౫అప్పుడు గలిలయ నుండి ఆయనతో వచ్చిన స్త్రీలు వెంట వెళ్ళి ఆ సమాధినీ, ఆయన దేహాన్నీ ఎలా ఉంచారో చూసి
56 and having turned back, they made ready spices and ointments, and on the Sabbath, indeed, they rested, according to the command.
౫౬తిరిగి వెళ్ళి, సుగంధ ద్రవ్యాలూ, పరిమళ తైలాలూ సిద్ధం చేసుకున్నారు. తరువాత దేవుని ఆజ్ఞ ప్రకారం విశ్రాంతి దినం ఏ పనీ లేకుండా ఉన్నారు.
