< Luke 22 >
1 And the Celebration of the Unleavened [Bread] was coming near, that is called Passover,
Embaga ey’Emigaati Egitazimbulukuswa eyitibwa Okuyitako yali esembedde.
2 and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they may take Him up, for they were afraid of the people.
Bakabona abakulu n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka baali bakola kaweefube okusala amagezi okutta Yesu, naye nga batya abantu okusasamala.
3 And Satan entered into Judas, who is surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the Twelve,
Awo Setaani n’ayingira mu Yuda Isukalyoti eyali omu ku bayigirizwa ekkumi n’ababiri,
4 and he, having gone away, spoke with the chief priests and the magistrates, how he might deliver Him up to them,
n’agenda eri bakabona abakulu n’abakuumi ba Yeekaalu abakulu, n’ateesa nabo nga bw’anaamuwaayo gye bali.
5 and they rejoiced, and covenanted to give him money,
Ne basanyuka nnyo, era ne bakkiriza okumusasula.
6 and he agreed, and was seeking a favorable season to deliver Him up to them without tumult.
Yuda n’akkiriza okuwaayo Yesu, n’anoonya akakisa konna mw’anaamuweerayo gye bali nga tewali kibiina.
7 And the day of the Unleavened [Bread] came, in which it was necessary [for] the Passover to be sacrificed,
Awo olunaku olw’Emigaati Egitazimbulukuswa, okuttirwa omwana gw’endiga ogw’embaga y’Okuyitako, ne lutuuka.
8 and He sent Peter and John, saying, “Having gone on, prepare to us the Passover, that we may eat”;
Yesu n’atuma Peetero ne Yokaana n’abagamba nti, “Mugende mututegekere ekyekiro kyaffe eky’okuyitako, tujje tukirye.”
9 and they said to Him, “Where do You will that we might prepare?”
Ne bamubuuza nti, “Oyagala tukitegekere wa?”
10 And He said to them, “Behold, in your entering into the city, a man will meet you there, carrying a pitcher of water, follow him into the house where he goes in,
Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Munaaba mwakayingira mu kibuga, mujja kulaba omusajja eyeetisse ensuwa y’amazzi ng’atambula. Mumugoberere okutuuka mu nnyumba mw’anaayingira,
11 and you will say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?
mugambe nnyinimu nti, ‘Omuyigiriza atutumye gy’oli ng’agamba nti: Ekisenge ky’abagenyi kiruwa mwe nnaaliira Okuyitako n’abayigirizwa bange?’
12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished, make ready there”;
Ajja kubalaga ekisenge ekinene ekya waggulu nga kitegekeddwa bulungi. Omwo mwe muba mutegekera.”
13 and they, having gone away, found as He has said to them, and they made the Passover ready.
Ne balaga mu kibuga, ne basanga buli kimu nga Yesu bwe yabagamba. Ne bateekateeka Okuyitako.
14 And when the hour was come, He reclined, and the twelve apostles with Him,
Awo ekiseera ky’okulya bwe kyatuuka, Yesu n’atuula n’abayigirizwa be okulya.
15 and He said to them, “With desire I desired to eat this Passover with you before My suffering,
Yesu n’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Ebbanga eryo lyonna mbadde ndowooza nnyo ku Kyekiro kino eky’Okuyitako, nga njagala nkirye nammwe nga sinnaba kubonyaabonyezebwa.
16 for I say to you that I may eat of it no longer until it may be fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
Kubanga mbagamba nti sigenda kuddayo kulya nammwe Okuyitako okutuusa lwe kulituukirizibwa mu bwakabaka bwa Katonda.”
17 And having taken a cup, having given thanks, He said, “Take this and divide to yourselves,
Awo Yesu n’addira ekikompe ky’envinnyo, bwe yamala okwebaza Katonda, n’agamba nti, “Mukwate, munyweko mwenna.
18 for I say to you that I may not drink of the produce of the vine until the Kingdom of God may come.”
Kubanga mbagamba nti, Sigenda kuddayo kunywa ku kibala kya muzabbibu okutuusa ng’obwakabaka bwa Katonda buzze.”
19 And having taken bread, having given thanks, He broke and gave to them, saying, “This is My body, that is being given for you, do this in remembrance of Me.”
Ate n’atoola omugaati, bwe yamala okwebaza Katonda, n’agumenyaamenyamu, n’abagabira ng’agamba nti, “Guno gwe mubiri gwange oguweebwayo ku lwammwe. Mukolenga bwe muti nga munzijukira.”
20 In like manner, also, the cup after the dining, saying, “This cup [is] the New Covenant in My blood, that is being poured forth for you.
Bwe baamala okulya ekyekiro, n’addira nate ekikompe era mu ngeri y’emu n’akibakwasa ng’agamba nti, “Ekikompe kino ke kabonero ak’endagaano ya Katonda empya ekakasibwa mu musaayi gwange oguyiyibwa ku lwammwe.
21 But behold, the hand of him delivering Me up [is] with Me on the table,
Naye muwulire kino. Omuntu agenda okundyamu olukwe atudde wano nange ku mmere.
22 and, indeed, the Son of Man goes according to what has been determined; but woe to that man through whom He is being delivered up.”
Kigwanira Omwana w’Omuntu, okufa nga Katonda bwe yateekateeka. Naye zimusanze omuntu oyo amulyamu olukwe.”
23 And they began to reason among themselves who then of them it may be who is about to do this thing.
Awo abayigirizwa ne batandika okwebuuzaganya bokka na bokka nti ani ku bo ayinza okukola ekintu ng’ekyo!
24 And there happened also a strife among them—who of them is accounted to be greater.
Era ne batandika okuwakana bokka ne bokka, ani asinga ekitiibwa mu bo?
25 And He said to them, “The kings of the nations exercise lordship over them, and those exercising authority on them are called benefactors;
Naye Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Bakabaka b’abamawanga bafuga abantu baabwe, n’ab’obuyinza ne babazunza mu kino na kiri, naye abafugibwa tebalina kya kukola wabula okubayita abayambi baabwe.
26 but you [are] not so, but he who is greater among you—let him be as the younger; and he who is leading, as he who is ministering;
Naye mu mmwe tekisaanira kuba bwe kityo. Oyo asinga ekitiibwa mu mmwe asaana yeeyisenga ng’asembayo, n’omukulembeze mu mmwe asaana abeere ng’omuweereza wammwe.
27 for who is greater? He who is reclining, or he who is ministering? Is it not he who is reclining? And I am in your midst as He who is ministering.
Mu nsi muno omukungu y’atula ku mmeeza abaddu be ne bamuweereza. Naye wano mu ffe nze muweereza wammwe.
28 And you are those who have remained with Me in My temptations,
Naye mmwe mubadde wamu nange mu biseera bino eby’okugezesebwa kwange,
29 and I appoint to you a kingdom, as My Father appointed to Me,
era kubanga Kitange ampadde obwakabaka, noolwekyo mbaatulira kati nti mbawadde ekifo
30 that you may eat and may drink at My table, in My kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
okutuula n’okulya era n’okunywera ku mmeeza yange mu bwakabaka bwange obwo, era mulituula ku ntebe ne mulamula ebika bya Isirayiri ekkumi n’ebibiri.
31 And the LORD said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked for himself to sift you as the wheat,
“Simooni, Simooni, Setaani asabye okukuwewa ng’eŋŋaano,
32 and I implored for you that your faith may not fail; and you, when you turned, strengthen your brothers.”
naye ggwe nkusabidde okukkiriza kwo kuleme kukuggwaamu. Era bw’olimala okwenenya, yamba mu kuzimba n’okunyweza okukkiriza kwa baganda bo.”
33 And he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death”;
Awo Peetero n’addamu nti, “Mukama wange, neeteeseteese okusibirwa awamu naawe mu kkomera, era n’okufiira awamu naawe.”
34 and He said, “I say to you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today, before you may disown knowing Me three times.”
Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Peetero, nkutegeeza nti leero ononneegaana emirundi esatu enkoko nga tennakookolima.”
35 And He said to them, “When I sent you without bag, and leather pouch, and sandals, did you lack anything?” And they said, “Nothing.”
Awo Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Bwe nabatuma okubuulira Enjiri, ne mutatwala nsimbi wadde ensawo, oba omugogo omulala ogw’engatto, mwalina okwetaaga ekintu kyonna?” Ne baddamu nti, “Nedda.”
36 Then He said to them, “But now, he who is having a bag, let him take [it] up, and in like manner also a leather pouch; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,
Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Naye kaakano alina ensawo eterekebwamu ensimbi agitwale, n’ensawo ng’ey’omusabiriza bwe mutyo. Atalina kitala, atunde ku ngoye ze akyegulire!
37 for I say to you that this which has been written is necessary to be accomplished in Me: And He was reckoned with lawless ones; for also the things concerning Me have an end.”
Kubanga mbagamba nti kyetaagisa okutuukirizibwa mu nze ekyawandiikibwa nti, ‘Yabalirwa wamu n’abamenyi b’amateeka,’ ebinkwatako biteekwa okutuukirira.”
38 And they said, “Lord, behold, here [are] two swords”; and He said to them, “It is sufficient.”
Abayigirizwa ne bamugamba nti, “Mukama waffe, wano tulinawo ebitala bibiri!” N’abaddamu nti, “Bimala!”
39 And having gone forth, He went on, according to custom, to the Mount of Olives, and His disciples also followed Him,
Awo Yesu n’afuluma mu kibuga awamu n’abayigirizwa be n’akwata ekkubo erigenda ku lusozi olwa Zeyituuni nga bwe yali empisa ye.
40 and having come to the place, He said to them, “Pray to not enter into temptation.”
Bwe yatuuka eyo n’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Musabe Katonda, muleme kuwangulwa kukemebwa.”
41 And He was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone’s cast, and having fallen on the knees He was praying,
Ye n’abavaako akabanga ng’awakasukwa ejjinja, n’afukamira n’asaba nti,
42 saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me, but not My will, but Yours be done.”
“Kitange, obanga kwe kusiima kwo ekikompe kino kinzigyeko. Naye si nga Nze bwe njagala, wabula ky’oyagala kye kiba kikolebwa.”
43 And there appeared to Him a messenger from Heaven strengthening Him;
Awo malayika eyava mu ggulu n’ajja n’amugumya.
44 and having been in agony, He was more earnestly praying, and His sweat became, as it were, great drops of blood falling on the ground.
Yali mu kunyolwa kunene nnyo okw’omwoyo, ne yeeyongera okusaba ennyo n’atuuyana n’entuuyo ezamuvaamu ne ziba ng’amatondo g’omusaayi, era ne gatonnya wansi.
45 And having risen up from the prayer, having come to the disciples, He found them sleeping from the sorrow,
Bwe yayimuka ng’amaze okusaba n’addayo eri abayigirizwa be, naye n’abasanga nga beebase, olw’ennaku eyali ebakutte.
46 and He said to them, “Why do you sleep? Having risen, pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
N’abagamba nti, “Lwaki mwebase? Muzuukuke, musabe, muleme kuwangulwa kukemebwa.”
47 And while He is speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the Twelve, was coming before them, and he came near to Jesus to kiss Him,
Awo Yesu bwe yali ng’akyayogera, ekibiina ky’abantu ne batuuka nga Yuda, omu ku bayigirizwa be ekkumi n’ababiri, y’abakulembedde. Yuda n’ajja butereevu awali Yesu, n’amunywegera.
48 and Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you deliver up the Son of Man with a kiss?”
Naye Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Yuda, Omwana w’Omuntu omulyamu olukwe ng’omugwa mu kifuba?”
49 And those around Him, having seen what was about to be, said to Him, “Lord, will we strike with a sword?”
Abayigirizwa abalala bwe baalaba ekyali kigenda okubaawo ne babuuza Yesu nti, “Mukama waffe, tubateme n’ebitala byaffe?”
50 And a certain one of them struck the servant of the chief priest, and took off his right ear,
Era omu ku bo n’atemako n’ekitala okutu kw’omuweereza wa Kabona Asinga Obukulu.
51 and Jesus answering said, “Permit thus far,” and having touched his ear, He healed him.
Naye Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Temwongera kubalwanyisa.” N’akwata ku kutu kw’omusajja, n’amuwonya!
52 And Jesus said to those having come on Him—chief priests, and magistrates of the temple, and elders, “Have you come forth with swords and sticks as on a robber?
Yesu kwe kukyukira bakabona abakulu, n’abakulu b’abakuumi ba Yeekaalu, n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya abaali bakulembedde ekibiina ky’abantu, n’abagamba nti, “Ndi munyazi, n’okujja ne mujja gye ndi nga mwambalidde ebitala n’emiggo?
53 While daily I was with you in the temple, you stretched forth no hands against Me; but this is your hour and the power of the darkness.”
Lwaki temwankwatira mu Yeekaalu? Nabeeranga omwo buli lunaku. Naye nammwe eno ye ssaawa yammwe, n’ekizikiza we kiragira obuyinza bwakyo.”
54 And having taken Him, they led and brought Him into the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following far off,
Awo ne bakwata Yesu ne bamutwala mu nnyumba ya Kabona Asinga Obukulu. Peetero n’agoberera nga yeesuddeko akabanga.
55 and they having kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting in the midst of them,
Bwe baamala okukuma omuliro wakati mu luggya ne batuula okwota; Peetero naye n’atuula wakati mu bo, n’ayota omuliro.
56 and a certain maid having seen him sitting at the light, and having earnestly looked at him, she said, “And this one was with Him!”
Omuwala omuweereza n’amulengera ng’omuliro gumumulisizza, n’amutunuulira enkaliriza, okutuusa lwe yagamba nti, “Omusajja ono yali ne Yesu!”
57 And he disowned Him, saying, “Woman, I have not known Him.”
Peetero ne yeegaana nti, “Omukazi, oyo gw’oyogerako nze simumanyi.”
58 And after a while, another having seen him, said, “And you are of them!” And Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
Bwe waayitawo akabanga omuntu omulala n’alaba Peetero n’amugamba nti, “Naawe oli omu ku bo.” Peetero ne yeegaana nti, “Nedda, ssebo, si bwe kiri.”
59 And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, “Of a truth this one also was with Him, for he is also a Galilean”;
Bwe waali wayiseewo ng’essaawa nnamba, omuntu omu n’ayogera ng’akakasa nti, “Ddala n’ono yali wamu ne Yesu kubanga naye Mugaliraaya.”
60 and Peter said, “Man, I have not known what you say”; and immediately, while he is speaking, a rooster crowed.
Peetero n’addamu nti, “Omusajja, by’oyogerako sibimanyi!” Peetero bwe yali akyayogera enkoko n’ekookolima.
61 And the LORD, having turned, looked on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the LORD, how He said to him, “Before a rooster will crow, you may disown Me three times”;
Mu kaseera ako Mukama waffe n’akyuka n’atunuulira Peetero. Peetero n’ajjukira Yesu kye yagamba nti, “Enkoko eneeba tennakookolima ononneegaana emirundi esatu.”
62 and Peter having gone outside, wept bitterly.
Awo Peetero n’afuluma okuva mu luggya n’akaaba nnyo amaziga!
63 And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him, beating [Him];
Awo abasajja abaali bakuuma Yesu ne batandika okumuduulira n’okumukuba.
64 and having blindfolded Him, they were striking Him on the face, and were questioning Him, saying, “Prophesy who he is who struck You?”
Ne bamusiba ekitambaala ku maaso ne bamukuba ebikonde, oluvannyuma ne bamubuuza nti, “Nnabbi! yogera ani akukubye?”
65 And many other things, slandering, they spoke in regard to Him.
Ne bamuvuma n’ebigambo ebirala bingi.
66 And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led Him up to their own Sanhedrin,
Enkeera mu makya Olukiiko Olukulu olw’Abayudaaya, nga lulimu bakabona abakulu, n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka, n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya, ne lutuula. Yesu n’aleetebwa mu maaso g’Olukiiko olwo.
67 saying, “If You are the Christ, tell us.” And He said to them, “If I may tell you, you will not believe;
Ne bamubuuza nti, “Obanga ggwe Kristo, tubuulire.” Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Bwe nnaababuulira temujja kunzikiriza,
68 and if I also question [you], you will not answer Me or send Me away;
ne bwe nnaababuuza ebibuuzo temujja kunnyanukula.
69 from now on, there will be the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power of God.”
Naye ekiseera kituuse, Nze, Omwana w’Omuntu, okutuula ku mukono ogwa ddyo ogwa Katonda Ayinzabyonna.”
70 And they all said, “You, then, are the Son of God?” And He said to them, “You say [it], because I AM”;
Bonna ne baleekaana nti, “Kwe kugamba nti ggwe Mwana wa Katonda?” Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Nga bwe mugambye bwe ntyo bwe ndi.”
71 and they said, “What need do we have yet of testimony? For we ourselves heard [it] from His mouth.”
Ne bagamba nti, “Ate twetaagira ki obujulizi obulala? Kubanga ffe ffennyini twewuliridde ng’ebigambo bino biva mu kamwa ke.”
