Luke 20
1 And it came to pass, on one of those days, as He is teaching the people in the temple, and proclaiming good news, the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders, came on [Him],
En cierta ocasión Jesús estaba enseñando en el Templo a la gente, diciéndoles la buena noticia. Y algunos de los jefes de los sacerdotes y maestros religiosos vinieron con los ancianos.
2 and spoke to Him, saying, “Tell us by what authority You do these things? Or who is he that gave to You this authority?”
Entonces le preguntaron: “Dinos: ¿con qué autoridad estás haciendo esto? ¿Quién te dio el derecho para hacerlo?”
3 And He answering said to them, “I will question you—I also—one thing, and tell Me:
“Déjenme hacerles una pregunta también”, respondió Jesús. “Díganme:
4 the immersion of John, was it from Heaven, or from men?”
el bautismo de Juan, ¿provenía del cielo, o era solo un bautismo humano?”
5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we may say, From Heaven, He will say, Why, then, did you not believe him?
Entonces ellos consultaron entre sí, diciendo: “Si decimos que venía del cielo, él nos preguntará: ‘Entonces ¿por qué no creyeron en él?’
6 And if we may say, From men, all the people will stone us, for they are having been persuaded John to be a prophet.”
Y si decimos que solo era un bautismo humano, todos nos apedrearán porque ellos están seguros de que Juan era un profeta”.
7 And they answered that they did not know from where [it was],
Así que respondieron, diciendo: “No sabemos de dónde venía”.
8 and Jesus said to them, “Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these things.”
A lo cual Jesús respondió: “Entonces yo no les diré con qué autoridad hago lo que hago”.
9 And He began to speak to the people this allegory: “A certain man planted a vineyard, and gave it out to farmers, and went abroad for a long time,
Luego comenzó a contarle un relato a las personas: “Había una vez un hombre que sembró una viña, la arrendó a unos granjeros y se fue a vivir a otro país por un largo tiempo.
10 and at the season he sent a servant to the farmers, that they may give to him from the fruit of the vineyard, but the farmers having beat him, sent [him] away empty.
Cuando llegó el tiempo de la cosecha, el dueño envió un siervo donde los granjeros para que recogiera de la cosecha, pero los granjeros golpearon al siervo y lo echaron con las manos vacías.
11 And he added to send another servant, and they also having beaten and dishonored that one, sent [him] away empty;
Así que el propietario envió a otro siervo, pero también lo golpearon y lo maltrataron terriblemente, y lo echaron con las manos vacías.
12 and he added to send a third, and this one also, having wounded, they cast out.
Entonces el propietario envió a un tercer siervo, y ellos lo hirieron, y lo lanzaron fuera.
13 And the owner of the vineyard said, What will I do? I will send my son, the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will respect [him];
“Luego el propietario de la viña se preguntó a sí mismo: ‘¿Qué haré? Ya sé, enviaré a mi hijo, al que amo. Quizás a él lo respetarán’.
14 and having seen him, the farmers reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that the inheritance may become ours;
Pero cuando lo vieron venir, los granjeros debatieron entre ellos y dijeron: ‘Este es el heredero del dueño. ¡Matémoslo! Así podremos quedarnos con su herencia’.
15 and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed [him]; what, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
Entonces lo lanzaron fuera de la viña y lo mataron. Ahora, ¿qué hará el dueño de la viña con ellos?
16 He will come, and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” And having heard, they said, “Let it not be!”
Vendrá y los matará y le entregará la viña a otros”. Cuando ellos oyeron este relato, dijeron: “¡Ojalá que nunca ocurra eso!”
17 And He, having looked on them, said, “What, then, is this that has been written: A stone that the builders rejected—this became head of a corner?
Pero Jesús los miró y dijo: “Entonces ¿por qué dicen las Escrituras: ‘La piedra que los constructores rechazaron se ha convertido en la piedra angular’?
18 Everyone who has fallen on that stone will be broken, and on whom it may fall, it will crush him to pieces.”
Todo el que se tropieza con esa piedra, se hará pedazos; y aplastará a aquellos a quienes les caiga encima”.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him in that hour, and they feared the people, for they knew that He spoke this allegory against them.
E inmediatamente los maestros religiosos y los jefes de los sacerdotes quisieron arrestarlo porque se dieron cuenta de que el relato que Jesús había contado estaba dirigido contra a ellos, pero tenían miedo de lo que la gente pudiera hacer.
20 And having watched [Him], they sent forth ones lying in wait, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of His word, to deliver Him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor,
Así que esperando la oportunidad, enviaron espías que se hicieron pasar por hombres sinceros. Ellos trataban de sorprender a Jesús diciendo algo que les permitiera entregarlo al poder y autoridad del gobernador.
21 and they questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, we have known that You say and teach correctly, and do not receive a person, but in truth teach the way of God.
Entonces le dijeron: “Maestro, sabemos que enseñas lo que es recto, y que no te dejas persuadir por la opinión de los demás. Tú realmente enseñas el camino de Dios.
22 Is it lawful to us to give tribute to Caesar or not?”
¿Deberíamos pagar los impuestos al Cesar, o no?”
23 And He, having perceived their craftiness, said to them, “Why do you tempt Me?
Pero Jesús se dio cuenta de su trampa, y les dijo:
24 Show Me a denarius; of whom does it have an image and inscription?” And they answering said, “Of Caesar”:
“Muéstrenme una moneda, un denario. ¿De quién es la imagen y la inscripción que están en ella?” “Es del césar”, respondieron ellos.
25 and He said to them, “Give back, therefore, the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God”;
“Entonces páguenle al César lo que le corresponde al César, y páguenle a Dios lo que le corresponde a Dios”, les dijo.
26 and they were not able to take hold on His saying before the people, and having wondered at His answer, they were silent.
Y ellos no pudieron atraparlo por lo que le dijo a la gente. Quedaron pasmados con esta respuesta, y se quedaron en silencio.
27 And certain of the Sadducees, who are denying that there is a resurrection, having come near, questioned Him,
Entonces vinieron unos Saduceos, quienes no creen en la resurrección, y le hicieron a Jesús la siguiente pregunta:
28 saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us if anyone’s brother may die, having a wife, and he may die childless—that his brother may take the wife, and may raise up seed to his brother.
“Maestro”, comenzaron, “Moisés nos dio una ley que dice que si un hombre casado muere y deja a su esposa sin hijos, entonces su hermano debe casarse con la viuda y tener hijos por ese hermano que murió.
29 There were, then, seven brothers, and the first having taken a wife, died childless,
Había siete hermanos. El primero tuvo una esposa y murió sin tener hijos.
30 and the second took the wife, and he died childless,
Luego el segundo
31 and the third took her, and in like manner also the seven—they left no children, and they died;
y el tercer hermano se casaron con ella. Al final todos los siete hermanos se casaron con ella, y murieron sin tener hijos.
32 and last of all the woman also died:
Finalmente ella también murió.
33 in the resurrection, then, of which of them does she become wife? For the seven had her as wife.”
Ahora, ¿cuál de todos será su esposo en la resurrección, siendo que todos los siete hermanos se casaron con ella?”
34 And Jesus answering said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, (aiōn g165)
“En esta era la gente se casa y se da en casamiento”, explicó Jesús. (aiōn g165)
35 but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection that is out of the dead, neither marry, nor are they given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
“Pero los que sean dignos de participar del mundo venidero y de la resurrección de entre los muertos no se casarán ni se darán en casamiento. (aiōn g165)
36 for neither are they able to die anymore—for they are like messengers—and they are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Ya no podrán morir; serán como ángeles y son hijos de Dios puesto que son hijos de la resurrección.
37 And that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the Bush, since he calls the LORD the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
Pero en cuanto a la pregunta sobre si los muertos resucitarán, incluso Moisés demostró este hecho cuando escribió sobre el arbusto ardiente, cuando llama al Señor como ‘el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob’.
38 and He is not a God of dead men, but of living, for all live to Him.”
Él no es el Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos, porque para él ellos aún están vivos”.
39 And certain of the scribes answering said, “Teacher, You said well”;
Algunos de los maestros religiosos respondieron: “Esa fue una buena respuesta, Maestro”.
40 and they no longer dared question Him anything.
Y después de esto, ninguno se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.
41 And He said to them, “How do they say the Christ is [the] son of David,
Entonces Jesús les preguntó: “¿Por qué se dice que Cristo es el hijo de David?
42 and David himself says in [the] Scroll of Psalms, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit on My right hand,
Pues el mismo David dice en el libro de los salmos: ‘El Señor le dijo a mi Señor: “Siéntate a mi diestra
43 Until I will make Your enemies Your footstool;
hasta que ponga a tus enemigos como estrado de tus pies”’.
44 David, then, calls Him Lord, and how is He his son?”
David lo llama ‘Señor’. ¿Cómo entonces, puede ser el hijo de David?”
45 And all the people hearing, He said to His disciples,
Mientras todos estaban atentos, dijo a sus discípulos:
46 “Take heed of the scribes, who are wishing to walk in long robes, and are cherishing salutations in the markets, and first seats in the synagogues, and first couches at the banquets,
“Cuídense de los líderes religiosos a quienes les gusta caminar por ahí con batas largas, y les encanta que los saluden en las plazas, y tener los mejores asientos en las sinagogas y lugares de honor en los banquetes.
47 who devour the houses of the widows, and make long prayers for a pretense, these will receive more abundant judgment.”
Ellos engañan a las viudas y les quitan lo que tienen, y ocultan el tipo de personas que son realmente por medio de sus largas oraciones. Ellos recibirán una condenación severa en el juicio”.
