< Luke 2 >
1 And it came to pass in those days, there went forth a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world be registered—
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಕಾಲೇ ರಾಜ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ನಾಮಾನಿ ಲೇಖಯಿತುಮ್ ಅಗಸ್ತಕೈಸರ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಾಸ|
2 this census first came to pass when Quirinius was governor of Syria—
ತದನುಸಾರೇಣ ಕುರೀಣಿಯನಾಮನಿ ಸುರಿಯಾದೇಶಸ್ಯ ಶಾಸಕೇ ಸತಿ ನಾಮಲೇಖನಂ ಪ್ರಾರೇಭೇ|
3 and all were going to be registered, each to his proper city,
ಅತೋ ಹೇತೋ ರ್ನಾಮ ಲೇಖಿತುಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಜನಾಃ ಸ್ವೀಯಂ ಸ್ವೀಯಂ ನಗರಂ ಜಗ್ಮುಃ|
4 and Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, that is called Beth-Lehem, because of his being of the house and family of David,
ತದಾನೀಂ ಯೂಷಫ್ ನಾಮ ಲೇಖಿತುಂ ವಾಗ್ದತ್ತಯಾ ಸ್ವಭಾರ್ಯ್ಯಯಾ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭವತ್ಯಾ ಮರಿಯಮಾ ಸಹ ಸ್ವಯಂ ದಾಯೂದಃ ಸಜಾತಿವಂಶ ಇತಿ ಕಾರಣಾದ್ ಗಾಲೀಲ್ಪ್ರದೇಶಸ್ಯ ನಾಸರತ್ನಗರಾದ್
5 to register himself with Mary his betrothed wife, being with Child.
ಯಿಹೂದಾಪ್ರದೇಶಸ್ಯ ಬೈತ್ಲೇಹಮಾಖ್ಯಂ ದಾಯೂದ್ನಗರಂ ಜಗಾಮ|
6 And it came to pass, in their being there, the days were fulfilled for her bringing forth,
ಅನ್ಯಚ್ಚ ತತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ತಯೋಸ್ತಿಷ್ಠತೋಃ ಸತೋ ರ್ಮರಿಯಮಃ ಪ್ರಸೂತಿಕಾಲ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತೇ
7 and she brought forth her Son—the firstborn, and wrapped Him up, and laid Him down in the manger, because there was not a place for them in the guest-chamber.
ಸಾ ತಂ ಪ್ರಥಮಸುತಂ ಪ್ರಾಸೋಷ್ಟ ಕಿನ್ತು ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ವಾಸಗೃಹೇ ಸ್ಥಾನಾಭಾವಾದ್ ಬಾಲಕಂ ವಸ್ತ್ರೇಣ ವೇಷ್ಟಯಿತ್ವಾ ಗೋಶಾಲಾಯಾಂ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಾಮಾಸ|
8 And there were shepherds in the same region, lodging in the field and keeping the night-watches over their flock,
ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಯೇ ಕಿಯನ್ತೋ ಮೇಷಪಾಲಕಾಃ ಸ್ವಮೇಷವ್ರಜರಕ್ಷಾಯೈ ತತ್ಪ್ರದೇಶೇ ಸ್ಥಿತ್ವಾ ರಜನ್ಯಾಂ ಪ್ರಾನ್ತರೇ ಪ್ರಹರಿಣಃ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ಕುರ್ವ್ವನ್ತಿ,
9 and behold, a messenger of the LORD stood over them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they feared [with] a great fear.
ತೇಷಾಂ ಸಮೀಪಂ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ದೂತ ಆಗತ್ಯೋಪತಸ್ಥೌ; ತದಾ ಚತುಷ್ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವೇ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ತೇಜಸಃ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿತತ್ವಾತ್ ತೇಽತಿಶಶಙ್ಕಿರೇ|
10 And the messenger said to them, “Do not fear, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be to all the people,
ತದಾ ಸ ದೂತ ಉವಾಚ ಮಾ ಭೈಷ್ಟ ಪಶ್ಯತಾದ್ಯ ದಾಯೂದಃ ಪುರೇ ಯುಷ್ಮನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತಂ ತ್ರಾತಾ ಪ್ರಭುಃ ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟೋಽಜನಿಷ್ಟ,
11 because today in the city of David a Savior was born to you, who is Christ the LORD!
ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಮಹಾನನ್ದಜನಕಮ್ ಇಮಂ ಮಙ್ಗಲವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಂ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಿ|
12 And this [is] the sign to you: you will find a Baby wrapped up, lying in the manger.”
ಯೂಯಂ (ತತ್ಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಗತ್ವಾ) ವಸ್ತ್ರವೇಷ್ಟಿತಂ ತಂ ಬಾಲಕಂ ಗೋಶಾಲಾಯಾಂ ಶಯನಂ ದ್ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಥ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಪ್ರತೀದಂ ಚಿಹ್ನಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
13 And suddenly there came with the messenger a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying,
ದೂತ ಇಮಾಂ ಕಥಾಂ ಕಥಿತವತಿ ತತ್ರಾಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯಾಃ ಪೃತನಾ ಆಗತ್ಯ ಕಥಾಮ್ ಇಮಾಂ ಕಥಯಿತ್ವೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಗುಣಾನನ್ವವಾದಿಷುಃ, ಯಥಾ,
14 “Glory in the highest to God, and on earth peace, among men—good will!”
ಸರ್ವ್ವೋರ್ದ್ವ್ವಸ್ಥೈರೀಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮಹಿಮಾ ಸಮ್ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ಯತಾಂ| ಶಾನ್ತಿರ್ಭೂಯಾತ್ ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಸ್ತು ಸನ್ತೋಷಶ್ಚ ನರಾನ್ ಪ್ರತಿ||
15 And it came to pass, when the messengers were gone away from them to the heavens, that the men, the shepherds, said to one another, “We may indeed go over to Beth-Lehem and see this thing that has come to pass, that the LORD made known to us!”
ತತಃ ಪರಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಸನ್ನಿಧೇ ರ್ದೂತಗಣೇ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಂ ಗತೇ ಮೇಷಪಾಲಕಾಃ ಪರಸ್ಪರಮ್ ಅವೇಚನ್ ಆಗಚ್ಛತ ಪ್ರಭುಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೋ ಯಾಂ ಘಟನಾಂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಿತವಾನ್ ತಸ್ಯಾ ಯಾಥರ್ಯಂ ಜ್ಞಾತುಂ ವಯಮಧುನಾ ಬೈತ್ಲೇಹಮ್ಪುರಂ ಯಾಮಃ|
16 And they came, having hurried, and found both Mary, and Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger,
ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ ತೇ ತೂರ್ಣಂ ವ್ರಜಿತ್ವಾ ಮರಿಯಮಂ ಯೂಷಫಂ ಗೋಶಾಲಾಯಾಂ ಶಯನಂ ಬಾಲಕಞ್ಚ ದದೃಶುಃ|
17 and having seen, they made known abroad concerning the saying spoken to them concerning the Child.
ಇತ್ಥಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಬಾಲಕಸ್ಯಾರ್ಥೇ ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತಾಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಕಥಾಂ ತೇ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರಯಾಞ್ಚಕ್ರುಃ|
18 And all who heard [it] wondered concerning the things spoken to them by the shepherds;
ತತೋ ಯೇ ಲೋಕಾ ಮೇಷರಕ್ಷಕಾಣಾಂ ವದನೇಭ್ಯಸ್ತಾಂ ವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಂ ಶುಶ್ರುವುಸ್ತೇ ಮಹಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮೇನಿರೇ|
19 and Mary was preserving all these things, pondering [them] in her heart;
ಕಿನ್ತು ಮರಿಯಮ್ ಏತತ್ಸರ್ವ್ವಘಟನಾನಾಂ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ವಿವಿಚ್ಯ ಮನಸಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಾಮಾಸ|
20 and the shepherds turned back, glorifying and praising God for all those things they heard and saw, as it was spoken to them.
ತತ್ಪಶ್ಚಾದ್ ದೂತವಿಜ್ಞಪ್ತಾನುರೂಪಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಚ ಮೇಷಪಾಲಕಾ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಗುಣಾನುವಾದಂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಞ್ಚ ಕುರ್ವ್ವಾಣಾಃ ಪರಾವೃತ್ಯ ಯಯುಃ|
21 And when eight days were fulfilled to circumcise the Child, then was His Name called Jesus, having been so called by the messenger before His being conceived in the womb.
ಅಥ ಬಾಲಕಸ್ಯ ತ್ವಕ್ಛೇದನಕಾಲೇಽಷ್ಟಮದಿವಸೇ ಸಮುಪಸ್ಥಿತೇ ತಸ್ಯ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಸ್ಥಿತೇಃ ಪುರ್ವ್ವಂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯದೂತೋ ಯಥಾಜ್ಞಾಪಯತ್ ತದನುರೂಪಂ ತೇ ತನ್ನಾಮಧೇಯಂ ಯೀಶುರಿತಿ ಚಕ್ರಿರೇ|
22 And when the days of their purification were fulfilled, according to the Law of Moses, they brought Him up to Jerusalem, to present to the LORD,
ತತಃ ಪರಂ ಮೂಸಾಲಿಖಿತವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಯಾ ಅನುಸಾರೇಣ ಮರಿಯಮಃ ಶುಚಿತ್ವಕಾಲ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತೇ,
23 as it has been written in the Law of the LORD: “Every male opening a womb will be called holy to the LORD,”
"ಪ್ರಥಮಜಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಃ ಪುರುಷಸನ್ತಾನಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೇ ಸಮರ್ಪ್ಯತಾಂ," ಇತಿ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಯಾ
24 and to give a sacrifice, according to that said in the Law of the LORD: “A pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons.”
ಯೀಶುಂ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೇ ಸಮರ್ಪಯಿತುಮ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯವಿಧ್ಯುಕ್ತಂ ಕಪೋತದ್ವಯಂ ಪಾರಾವತಶಾವಕದ್ವಯಂ ವಾ ಬಲಿಂ ದಾತುಂ ತೇ ತಂ ಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಮ್ ಆಯಯುಃ|
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name [is] Simeon, and this man is righteous and devout, looking for the comforting of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him,
ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ಪುರನಿವಾಸೀ ಶಿಮಿಯೋನ್ನಾಮಾ ಧಾರ್ಮ್ಮಿಕ ಏಕ ಆಸೀತ್ ಸ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಃ ಸಾನ್ತ್ವನಾಮಪೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ತಸ್ಥೌ ಕಿಞ್ಚ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆತ್ಮಾ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ನಾವಿರ್ಭೂತಃ|
26 and it has been divinely told him by the Holy Spirit—not to see death before he may see the Christ of the LORD.
ಅಪರಂ ಪ್ರಭುಣಾ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೇಣಾಭಿಷಿಕ್ತೇ ತ್ರಾತರಿ ತ್ವಯಾ ನ ದೃಷ್ಟೇ ತ್ವಂ ನ ಮರಿಷ್ಯಸೀತಿ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಪವಿತ್ರೇಣ ಆತ್ಮನಾ ತಸ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಕಥ್ಯತ|
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and in the parents bringing in the child Jesus, for their doing according to the custom of the Law regarding Him,
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಯದಾ ಯೀಶೋಃ ಪಿತಾ ಮಾತಾ ಚ ತದರ್ಥಂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾನುರೂಪಂ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಂ ತಂ ಮನ್ದಿರಮ್ ಆನಿನ್ಯತುಸ್ತದಾ
28 then he took Him in his arms, and blessed God, and he said,
ಶಿಮಿಯೋನ್ ಆತ್ಮನ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೇನ ಮನ್ದಿರಮಾಗತ್ಯ ತಂ ಕ್ರೋಡೇ ನಿಧಾಯ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಂ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ, ಯಥಾ,
29 “Now You send Your servant away, O LORD, according to Your word, in peace,
ಹೇ ಪ್ರಭೋ ತವ ದಾಸೋಯಂ ನಿಜವಾಕ್ಯಾನುಸಾರತಃ| ಇದಾನೀನ್ತು ಸಕಲ್ಯಾಣೋ ಭವತಾ ಸಂವಿಸೃಜ್ಯತಾಮ್|
30 because my eyes saw Your salvation,
ಯತಃ ಸಕಲದೇಶಸ್ಯ ದೀಪ್ತಯೇ ದೀಪ್ತಿರೂಪಕಂ|
31 which You prepared before the face of all the peoples,
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೀಯಲೋಕಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾಗೌರವರೂಪಕಂ|
32 a light to the uncovering of nations, and the glory of Your people Israel.”
ಯಂ ತ್ರಾಯಕಂ ಜನಾನಾನ್ತು ಸಮ್ಮುಖೇ ತ್ವಮಜೀಜನಃ| ಸಏವ ವಿದ್ಯತೇಽಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಧ್ರವಂ ನಯನನಗೋಚರೇ||
33 And Joseph and His mother were wondering at the things spoken concerning Him,
ತದಾನೀಂ ತೇನೋಕ್ತಾ ಏತಾಃ ಸಕಲಾಃ ಕಥಾಃ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಯ ಮಾತಾ ಯೂಷಫ್ ಚ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಂ ಮೇನಾತೇ|
34 and Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary, “Behold, this [One] is set for the falling and rising again of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against—
ತತಃ ಪರಂ ಶಿಮಿಯೋನ್ ತೇಭ್ಯ ಆಶಿಷಂ ದತ್ತ್ವಾ ತನ್ಮಾತರಂ ಮರಿಯಮಮ್ ಉವಾಚ, ಪಶ್ಯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೋ ವಂಶಮಧ್ಯೇ ಬಹೂನಾಂ ಪಾತನಾಯೋತ್ಥಾಪನಾಯ ಚ ತಥಾ ವಿರೋಧಪಾತ್ರಂ ಭವಿತುಂ, ಬಹೂನಾಂ ಗುಪ್ತಮನೋಗತಾನಾಂ ಪ್ರಕಟೀಕರಣಾಯ ಬಾಲಕೋಯಂ ನಿಯುಕ್ತೋಸ್ತಿ|
35 (and also a sword will pass through your own soul)—that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed.”
ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ತವಾಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಃ ಶೂಲೇನ ವ್ಯತ್ಸ್ಯನ್ತೇ|
36 And there was Anna, a prophetess, daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, she was much advanced in days, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಆಶೇರಸ್ಯ ವಂಶೀಯಫಿನೂಯೇಲೋ ದುಹಿತಾ ಹನ್ನಾಖ್ಯಾ ಅತಿಜರತೀ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನ್ಯೇಕಾ ಯಾ ವಿವಾಹಾತ್ ಪರಂ ಸಪ್ತ ವತ್ಸರಾನ್ ಪತ್ಯಾ ಸಹ ನ್ಯವಸತ್ ತತೋ ವಿಧವಾ ಭೂತ್ವಾ ಚತುರಶೀತಿವರ್ಷವಯಃಪರ್ಯ್ಯನತಂ
37 and she [is] a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, serving with fasts and supplications, night and day,
ಮನ್ದಿರೇ ಸ್ಥಿತ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೋಪವಾಸೈರ್ದಿವಾನಿಶಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಮ್ ಅಸೇವತ ಸಾಪಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸಮಯೇ ಮನ್ದಿರಮಾಗತ್ಯ
38 and she, at that hour, having come in, was confessing, likewise, to the LORD, and was speaking concerning Him to all those looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಂ ಚಕಾರ, ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ಪುರವಾಸಿನೋ ಯಾವನ್ತೋ ಲೋಕಾ ಮುಕ್ತಿಮಪೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಾಸ್ತಾನ್ ಯೀಶೋರ್ವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಾಸ|
39 And when they completed all things according to the Law of the LORD, they turned back to Galilee, to their city of Nazareth;
ಇತ್ಥಂ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾನುಸಾರೇಣ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಷು ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಸು ಕೃತೇಷು ತೌ ಪುನಶ್ಚ ಗಾಲೀಲೋ ನಾಸರತ್ನಾಮಕಂ ನಿಜನಗರಂ ಪ್ರತಸ್ಥಾತೇ|
40 and the Child grew and was strengthened in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.
ತತ್ಪಶ್ಚಾದ್ ಬಾಲಕಃ ಶರೀರೇಣ ವೃದ್ಧಿಮೇತ್ಯ ಜ್ಞಾನೇನ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ಆತ್ಮನಾ ಶಕ್ತಿಮಾಂಶ್ಚ ಭವಿತುಮಾರೇಭೇ ತಥಾ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಈಶ್ವರಾನುಗ್ರಹೋ ಬಭೂವ|
41 And His parents were going yearly to Jerusalem, at the Celebration of the Passover,
ತಸ್ಯ ಪಿತಾ ಮಾತಾ ಚ ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷಂ ನಿಸ್ತಾರೋತ್ಸವಸಮಯೇ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಮ್ ಅಗಚ್ಛತಾಮ್|
42 and when He became twelve years old, they having gone up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the celebration,
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಯೀಶೌ ದ್ವಾದಶವರ್ಷವಯಸ್ಕೇ ಸತಿ ತೌ ಪರ್ವ್ವಸಮಯಸ್ಯ ರೀತ್ಯನುಸಾರೇಣ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಂ ಗತ್ವಾ
43 and having finished the days, in their returning the child Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and Joseph and His mother did not know,
ಪಾರ್ವ್ವಣಂ ಸಮ್ಪಾದ್ಯ ಪುನರಪಿ ವ್ಯಾಘುಯ್ಯ ಯಾತಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ಯೀಶುರ್ಬಾಲಕೋ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಿ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ| ಯೂಷಫ್ ತನ್ಮಾತಾ ಚ ತದ್ ಅವಿದಿತ್ವಾ
44 and having supposed Him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and were seeking Him among the relatives and among the acquaintances,
ಸ ಸಙ್ಗಿಭಿಃ ಸಹ ವಿದ್ಯತ ಏತಚ್ಚ ಬುದ್ವ್ವಾ ದಿನೈಕಗಮ್ಯಮಾರ್ಗಂ ಜಗ್ಮತುಃ| ಕಿನ್ತು ಶೇಷೇ ಜ್ಞಾತಿಬನ್ಧೂನಾಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಮೃಗಯಿತ್ವಾ ತದುದ್ದೇಶಮಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ
45 and having not found Him, they turned back to Jerusalem seeking Him.
ತೌ ಪುನರಪಿ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಮ್ ಪರಾವೃತ್ಯಾಗತ್ಯ ತಂ ಮೃಗಯಾಞ್ಚಕ್ರತುಃ|
46 And it came to pass, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and questioning them,
ಅಥ ದಿನತ್ರಯಾತ್ ಪರಂ ಪಣ್ಡಿತಾನಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ತೇಷಾಂ ಕಥಾಃ ಶೃಣ್ವನ್ ತತ್ತ್ವಂ ಪೃಚ್ಛಂಶ್ಚ ಮನ್ದಿರೇ ಸಮುಪವಿಷ್ಟಃ ಸ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ದೃಷ್ಟಃ|
47 and all those hearing Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
ತದಾ ತಸ್ಯ ಬುದ್ಧ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರೈಶ್ಚ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಶ್ರೋತಾರೋ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಮಾಪದ್ಯನ್ತೇ|
48 And having seen Him, they were amazed, and His mother said to Him, “Child, why did You do this to us? Behold, Your father and I, sorrowing, were seeking You.”
ತಾದೃಶಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಯ ಜನಕೋ ಜನನೀ ಚ ಚಮಚ್ಚಕ್ರತುಃ ಕಿಞ್ಚ ತಸ್ಯ ಮಾತಾ ತಮವದತ್, ಹೇ ಪುತ್ರ, ಕಥಮಾವಾಂ ಪ್ರತೀತ್ಥಂ ಸಮಾಚರಸ್ತ್ವಮ್? ಪಶ್ಯ ತವ ಪಿತಾಹಞ್ಚ ಶೋಕಾಕುಲೌ ಸನ್ತೌ ತ್ವಾಮನ್ವಿಚ್ಛಾವಃ ಸ್ಮ|
49 And He said to them, “Why [is it] that you were seeking Me? Did you not know that it is necessary for Me to be in the things of My Father?”
ತತಃ ಸೋವದತ್ ಕುತೋ ಮಾಮ್ ಅನ್ವೈಚ್ಛತಂ? ಪಿತುರ್ಗೃಹೇ ಮಯಾ ಸ್ಥಾತವ್ಯಮ್ ಏತತ್ ಕಿಂ ಯುವಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ನ ಜ್ಞಾಯತೇ?
50 And they did not understand the saying that He spoke to them,
ಕಿನ್ತು ತೌ ತಸ್ಯೈತದ್ವಾಕ್ಯಸ್ಯ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಬೋದ್ಧುಂ ನಾಶಕ್ನುತಾಂ|
51 and He went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and He was subject to them, and His mother was keeping all these sayings in her heart,
ತತಃ ಪರಂ ಸ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸಹ ನಾಸರತಂ ಗತ್ವಾ ತಯೋರ್ವಶೀಭೂತಸ್ತಸ್ಥೌ ಕಿನ್ತು ಸರ್ವ್ವಾ ಏತಾಃ ಕಥಾಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಮಾತಾ ಮನಸಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಾಮಾಸ|
52 and Jesus was advancing in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and men.
ಅಥ ಯೀಶೋ ರ್ಬುದ್ಧಿಃ ಶರೀರಞ್ಚ ತಥಾ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮಾನವಾನಾಞ್ಚಾನುಗ್ರಹೋ ವರ್ದ್ಧಿತುಮ್ ಆರೇಭೇ|
