< Luke 2 >
1 And it came to pass in those days, there went forth a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world be registered—
Ary tamin’ izany andro izany dia nisy didy navoak’ i Aogosto Kaisara hampanoratra ny anaran’ ny vahoaka rehetra amin’ ny fanjakany.
2 this census first came to pass when Quirinius was governor of Syria—
(Izany no fanoratana voalohany natao fony Kyrenio nanapaka tany Syria.)
3 and all were going to be registered, each to his proper city,
Dia samy nankany amin’ ny tanànany avy izy rehetra mba hosoratana.
4 and Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, that is called Beth-Lehem, because of his being of the house and family of David,
Ary Josefa koa niakatra avy tany Galilia, dia avy tao an-tanàna Nazareta, hankany Jodia, ho ao an-tanànan’ i Davida, iza atao hoe Betlehema (satria avy tamin’ ny taranak’ i Davida sy ny mpianakaviny),
5 to register himself with Mary his betrothed wife, being with Child.
mba hosoratana izy sy Maria fofom-badiny, izay efa bevohoka.
6 And it came to pass, in their being there, the days were fulfilled for her bringing forth,
Ary raha nitoetra teo Izy, dia tonga ny andro hahavelomany.
7 and she brought forth her Son—the firstborn, and wrapped Him up, and laid Him down in the manger, because there was not a place for them in the guest-chamber.
Ary niteraka ny Lahimatoany izy, dia nohodidininy lamban-jaza ka nampandriny teo amin’ ny fihinanam-bilona; fa tsy nisy nitoerany tao an-tranom-bahiny.
8 And there were shepherds in the same region, lodging in the field and keeping the night-watches over their flock,
Ary nisy mpiandry ondry tamin’ izany tany izany nitoetra tany an-tsaha nitandrina ny ondriny tamin’ ny alina.
9 and behold, a messenger of the LORD stood over them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they feared [with] a great fear.
Ary nisy anjelin’ ny Tompo nitsangana teo anilany, ary ny voninahitry ny Tompo nanelatrelatra manodidina azy, ka raiki-tahotra indrindra izy.
10 And the messenger said to them, “Do not fear, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be to all the people,
Ary hoy ny anjely taminy: Aza matahotra; fa, indro, milaza teny soa mahafaly aminareo aho, dia fifaliana lehibe izay ho an’ ny olona rehetra;
11 because today in the city of David a Savior was born to you, who is Christ the LORD!
fa Mpamonjy no teraka ho anareo anie ao an-tanànan’ i Davida, dia Kristy Tompo.
12 And this [is] the sign to you: you will find a Baby wrapped up, lying in the manger.”
Ary izao no ho famantarana ho anareo: ianareo hahita Zazakely voahodidina lamban-jaza sady mandry ao am-pihinanam-bilona;
13 And suddenly there came with the messenger a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying,
Ary nisy anjely maro be avy any an-danitra niseho tampoka niaraka tamin’ ilay anjely teo ka nidera an’ Andriamanitra nanao hoe:
14 “Glory in the highest to God, and on earth peace, among men—good will!”
Voninahitra any amin’ ny avo Indrindra ho an’ Andriamanitra! Ary fiadanana ho etỳ ambonin’ ny tany amin’ ny olona ankasitrahany.
15 And it came to pass, when the messengers were gone away from them to the heavens, that the men, the shepherds, said to one another, “We may indeed go over to Beth-Lehem and see this thing that has come to pass, that the LORD made known to us!”
Ary tamin’ izany rehefa niala teo aminy ireo anjely ireo ka nankany an-danitra, dia niresaka ireo lehilahy mpiandry ondry ka nanao hoe: Andeha isika hankany Betlehema ka hizaha izany zavatra vao tonga izany, izay nampahafantarin’ ny Tompo antsika.
16 And they came, having hurried, and found both Mary, and Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger,
Dia nandeha faingana izy ka nahita an’ i Maria sy Josefa, ary ny Zazakely nandry teo am-pihinanam-bilona.
17 and having seen, they made known abroad concerning the saying spoken to them concerning the Child.
Ary nony efa nahita izy, dia nampiely izay teny nolazaina taminy ny amin’ izany Zaza izany.
18 And all who heard [it] wondered concerning the things spoken to them by the shepherds;
Ary izay rehetra nandre dia gaga tamin’ izay zavatra nolazain’ ny mpiandry ondry taminy.
19 and Mary was preserving all these things, pondering [them] in her heart;
Fa Maria kosa nitadidy izany teny rehetra izany ka nieritreritra azy tao am-pony.
20 and the shepherds turned back, glorifying and praising God for all those things they heard and saw, as it was spoken to them.
Ary ny mpiandry ondry niverina nankalaza ny nidera an’ Andriamanitra noho ny zavatra rehetra izay reny ny hitany, araka izay nolazaina taminy.
21 And when eight days were fulfilled to circumcise the Child, then was His Name called Jesus, having been so called by the messenger before His being conceived in the womb.
Ary rehefa tapitra ny havaloana, ka hoforana ny Zaza, dia nataony hoe Jesosy ny anarany, araka ilay nataon’ ny anjely, fony tsy mbola torontoronina tao an-kibo Izy.
22 And when the days of their purification were fulfilled, according to the Law of Moses, they brought Him up to Jerusalem, to present to the LORD,
Ary rehefa tapitra ny andro fidiovany, araka ny lalàn’ i Mosesy, dia nitondra Azy niakatra tany Jerosalema izy mba hatolotra ho an’ ny Tompo
23 as it has been written in the Law of the LORD: “Every male opening a womb will be called holy to the LORD,”
araka ny voasoratra ao amin’ ny lalàn’ ny Tompo hoe: Ny lahy voalohan-teraka rehetra hatao hoe masìna ho an’ i Jehovah.
24 and to give a sacrifice, according to that said in the Law of the LORD: “A pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons.”
ary mba hanatitra fanatitra araka izay voalaza ao amin’ ny lalàn’ ny Tompo hoe: domohina roa, na zana-boromailala roa.
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name [is] Simeon, and this man is righteous and devout, looking for the comforting of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him,
Ary, indro, nisy lehilahy atao hoe Simeona tao Jerosalema; ary marina sady mpivavaka tsara izany lehilahy izany ka niandry ny fampiononana ny Isiraely; ary ny Fanahy Masìna dia tao aminy.
26 and it has been divinely told him by the Holy Spirit—not to see death before he may see the Christ of the LORD.
Ary efa nambaran’ ny Fanahy Masìna taminy fa tsy hahita fahafatesana izy mandra-pahitany ny Kristin’ ny Tompo.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and in the parents bringing in the child Jesus, for their doing according to the custom of the Law regarding Him,
Ary nentin’ ny Fanahy Masìna niditra teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly izy; ary rehefa nampidirin’ ny ray aman-dreniny Jesosy zaza mba hanaovany araka ny fomban’ ny lalàna ny amin’ ny zaza,
28 then he took Him in his arms, and blessed God, and he said,
dia nitrotro Azy izy ka nidera an’ Andriamanitra nanao hoe:
29 “Now You send Your servant away, O LORD, according to Your word, in peace,
Tompo ô, ankehitriny ny mpanomponao dia alefanao amin’ ny fiadanana Araka ny teninao;
30 because my eyes saw Your salvation,
Fa ny masoko efa nahita ny famonjenao,
31 which You prepared before the face of all the peoples,
Izay namboarinao teo anatrehan’ ny firenena rehetra,
32 a light to the uncovering of nations, and the glory of Your people Israel.”
Dia fahazavana hahazava ny firenena sady voninahitry ny Isiraely olonao.
33 And Joseph and His mother were wondering at the things spoken concerning Him,
Dia gaga ny ray aman-dreniny noho ny teny nilazana Azy.
34 and Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary, “Behold, this [One] is set for the falling and rising again of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against—
Ary Simeona nitso-drano azy ireo ka nanao tamin’ i Maria, renin’ ny Zaza, hoe: Indro, Ity Zaza ity no voatendry ho fandavoana sy ho fananganana ny maro ao amin’ ny Isiraely ary ho famantarana holavina
35 (and also a sword will pass through your own soul)—that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed.”
ary ny fanahinao aza dia hotsatohana sabatra ― mba haseho ny hevitry ny fo maro.
36 And there was Anna, a prophetess, daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, she was much advanced in days, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,
Ary nisy mpaminanivavy anankiray, dia Ana, zanakavavin’ i Fanoela, avy tamin’ ny firenen’ i Asera; efa anti-panahy tokoa izy ary efa nitoetra tamin’ ny vadiny fito taona taorian’ ny naha-virijina azy,
37 and she [is] a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, serving with fasts and supplications, night and day,
ary efa mpitondratena tokony ho efatra amby valo-polo taona; ary tsy niala teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly izy, fa nanompo tamin’ ny fifadian-kanina sy ny fivavahana andro aman’ alina.
38 and she, at that hour, having come in, was confessing, likewise, to the LORD, and was speaking concerning Him to all those looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
Ary nony niditra tamin’ izany ora izany izy, dia nisaotra an’ Andriamanitra ka nilaza Azy tamin’ izay rehetra niandry ny fanavotana tao Jerosalema.
39 And when they completed all things according to the Law of the LORD, they turned back to Galilee, to their city of Nazareth;
Ary rehefa vitany ny zavatra rehetra araka ny lalàn’ ny Tompo, dia niverina tany Galilia izy, dia tao Nazareta tanànany.
40 and the Child grew and was strengthened in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.
Ary ny Zaza dia nitombo ka nihahery sady feno fahendrena; ary ny fahasoavan’ Andriamanitra no tao aminy.
41 And His parents were going yearly to Jerusalem, at the Celebration of the Passover,
Ary ny ray aman-dreniny nankany Jerosalema isan-taona, raha avy ny andro firavoravoana amin’ ny Paska.
42 and when He became twelve years old, they having gone up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the celebration,
Ary rehefa roa ambin’ ny folo taona Jesosy, dia niakatra izy ireo, araka ny fanao amin’ ny andro firavoravoana.
43 and having finished the days, in their returning the child Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and Joseph and His mother did not know,
Ary rehefa tapitra izany andro izany, ka nody izy, Jesosy zaza dia mbola nitoetra tany Jerosalema ihany, nefa tsy fantatry ny ray aman-dreniny izany;
44 and having supposed Him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and were seeking Him among the relatives and among the acquaintances,
ary satria nataony fa niaraka tamin’ ny niara-dia taminy Izy, dia nandeha lalana indray andro izy vao nitady Azy tamin’ ny havany sy ny olom-pantany.
45 and having not found Him, they turned back to Jerusalem seeking Him.
Ary nony tsy nahita Azy izy, dia niverina ho any Jerosalema nitady Azy.
46 And it came to pass, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and questioning them,
Ary rehefa afaka hateloana, dia hitany teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly Izy nipetraka teo afovoan’ ny mpampianatra ka nihaino sady nanontany azy.
47 and all those hearing Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
Ary talanjona izay rehetra nandre Azy noho ny fahalalany sy ny famaliany.
48 And having seen Him, they were amazed, and His mother said to Him, “Child, why did You do this to us? Behold, Your father and I, sorrowing, were seeking You.”
Ary raha nahita Azy izy, dia talanjona, ka hoy ny reniny taminy: Anaka, nahoana no nanao toy izay taminay Hianao? He! izato alahelon-drainao sy izaho nitady Anao!
49 And He said to them, “Why [is it] that you were seeking Me? Did you not know that it is necessary for Me to be in the things of My Father?”
Fa hoy Izy taminy: Nahoana no nitady Ahy ianareo? tsy fantatrareo va fa tsy maintsy ho eto an-tranon’ ny Raiko Aho?
50 And they did not understand the saying that He spoke to them,
Nefa tsy azon’ ireo ny teny izay nolazainy taminy.
51 and He went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and He was subject to them, and His mother was keeping all these sayings in her heart,
Ary niara-nidina taminy nankany Nazareta Izy ka nanoa azy. Ary ny reniny nitahiry izany teny rehetra izany tao am-pony.
52 and Jesus was advancing in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and men.
Ary Jesosy nitombo saina sy tena sady nandroso fitia tamin’ Andriamanitra sy ny olona.
