Luke 11
1 And it came to pass, in His being in a certain place praying, as He ceased, a certain one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as also John taught his disciples.”
Một hôm Chúa Giê-xu vừa cầu nguyện xong, một môn đệ đến với Ngài và thưa: “Xin Chúa dạy chúng con cầu nguyện, như Giăng đã dạy môn đệ mình.”
2 And He said to them, “When you may pray, say: Our Father who is in the heavens, hallowed be Your Name; Your kingdom come, Your will come to pass, as in Heaven also on earth;
Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Các con nên cầu nguyện như sau: Lạy Cha, nguyện Danh Cha được tôn thánh. Nước Cha sớm thể hiện.
3 be giving us daily our appointed bread;
Xin cho chúng con đủ ăn hằng ngày,
4 and forgive us our sins, for we also ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us; and may You not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one].”
xin tha tội lỗi chúng con, như chúng con tha người phạm tội nghịch cùng chúng con. Xin đừng để chúng con vào vòng bị cám dỗ.”
5 And He said to them, “Who of you will have a friend, and will go on to him at midnight, and may say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves,
Để dạy thêm về sự cầu nguyện, Chúa kể chuyện này: “Nếu nửa đêm các con đến nhà bạn mình để mượn ba ổ bánh. Các con nói với người ấy:
6 seeing a friend of mine came out of the way to me, and I have not what I will set before him,
‘Vì tôi có người bạn ở xa vừa tới thăm, nhưng trong nhà thức ăn đã hết.’
7 and he from within answering may say, Do not give me trouble, the door has already been shut, and my children are with me in the bed, I am not able, having risen, to give to you.
Nhưng người ấy trả lời vọng ra: ‘Đừng làm phiền tôi! Cửa khóa rồi, các con tôi đang ngủ với tôi. Không thể nào dậy lấy bánh cho anh!’
8 I say to you, even if he will not give to him, having risen, because of his being his friend, yet because of his persistence, having risen, he will give him as many as he needs;
Ta quả quyết với các con, dù anh ấy không dậy vì nể bạn, nhưng cũng phải dậy trao đủ bánh cho bạn, vì người này kiên nhẫn gõ cửa.
9 and I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you;
Việc cầu nguyện cũng thế: Hãy xin, sẽ được, hãy tìm, sẽ gặp, hãy gõ cửa, cửa sẽ mở ra.
10 for everyone who is asking receives; and he who is seeking finds; and to him who is knocking it will be opened.
Vì bất kỳ ai xin sẽ được. Ai tìm sẽ gặp. Và cửa sẽ mở cho người nào gõ.
11 And of which of you—the father—[if] the son will ask [for] a loaf, will present to him a stone? And [if] a fish, instead of a fish, will present to him a serpent?
Có người cha nào khi con mình xin bánh mà cho đá, xin cá mà cho rắn.
12 And [if] he may ask [for] an egg, will present to him a scorpion?
Hay xin trứng lại cho bò cạp không?
13 If, then, you, being evil, have known to be giving good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father who is from Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those asking Him!”
Các con vốn là người xấu xa còn biết cho con mình vật tốt, huống chi Cha các con ở trên trời chẳng ban Chúa Thánh Linh cho người cầu xin Ngài sao?”
14 And He was casting forth a demon, and it was mute, and it came to pass, the demon having gone forth, the mute man spoke, and the multitudes wondered,
Chúa Giê-xu đuổi quỷ khỏi một người câm, người này liền nói được. Dân chúng kinh ngạc vô cùng,
15 and certain of them said, “By Beelzebul, ruler of the demons, He casts forth the demons”;
nhưng có người bảo: “Ông ấy nhờ uy quyền của Bê-ên-xê-bun để đuổi quỷ.”
16 and others, tempting, were asking [for] a sign out of Heaven from Him.
Những người khác, muốn gài bẫy Chúa, nên xin Ngài làm một dấu lạ trên trời.
17 And He, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom having been divided against itself is desolated; and house against house falls;
Biết ý tưởng họ, Chúa giảng giải: “Một nước chia rẽ sẽ bị tiêu diệt, một gia đình phân ly phải tan nát.
18 and if Satan was also divided against himself, how will his kingdom be made to stand? For you say by Beelzebul is My casting forth the demons,
Các ông nói Ta nhờ quyền năng của Sa-tan. Nếu nước của Bê-ên-xê-bun chia rẽ, làm sao nó còn tồn tại!
19 but if I, by Beelzebul, cast forth the demons—your sons, by whom do they cast forth? Because of this they will be your judges;
Nếu Ta nhờ quyền năng Bê-ên-xê-bun để đuổi quỷ, môn đệ các ông sẽ nhờ quyền năng nào? Chính họ sẽ xét xử các ông.
20 but if by the finger of God I cast forth the demons, then the Kingdom of God came unaware on you.
Nhưng nếu Ta nhờ quyền năng của Đức Chúa Trời để đuổi quỷ thì Nước Đức Chúa Trời đã đến với các ông rồi.
21 When the strong man may keep his hall armed, his goods are in peace;
Một người chủ cường bạo vũ trang đầy đủ canh gác lâu đài mình để giữ của.
22 but when the stronger than he, having come on [him], may overcome him, he takes away his whole armor in which he had trusted, and he distributes his spoils;
Nhưng khi có người mạnh hơn xông vào, hạ được người chủ độc ác, người ấy tước đoạt vũ khí của người chủ, và đem chia của cải cướp được.
23 he who is not with Me is against Me, and he who is not gathering with Me scatters.
Ai không hợp tác với Ta là chống nghịch Ta, ai không quy tụ quanh Ta sẽ bị phân tán.
24 When the unclean spirit may go forth from the man, it walks through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding, it says, I will return to my house from where I came forth;
Khi quỷ ra khỏi một người, liền đến vùng khô khan tìm nơi an nghỉ, nhưng không tìm được, quỷ tự nhủ: ‘Ta sẽ trở về với nạn nhân cũ.’
25 and having come, it finds [it] swept and adorned;
Lúc trở lại, thấy lòng người đã dọn dẹp sạch sẽ,
26 then it goes, and takes to it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and having entered, they dwell there, and the last of that man becomes worse than the first.”
quỷ liền rủ bảy quỷ khác độc ác hơn vào chiếm cứ tấm lòng này. Vậy người ấy lâm vào tình trạng bi thảm hơn trước.”
27 And it came to pass, in His saying these things, a certain woman having lifted up the voice out of the multitude, said to Him, “Blessed the womb that carried You, and the breasts that You sucked!”
Khi Chúa đang giảng dạy, một phụ nữ trong đám đông nói lớn: “Phước cho mẹ của Thầy—người đã sinh thành và dưỡng dục Thầy!”
28 And He said, “Indeed, rather, blessed those hearing the word of God, and keeping [it]!”
Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Ai nghe và làm theo lời Đức Chúa Trời còn được phước hơn nữa.”
29 And the multitudes crowding together on Him, He began to say, “This generation is evil, it seeks after a sign, and a sign will not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet,
Dân chúng tụ tập mỗi lúc một đông, Chúa Giê-xu tiếp tục giảng dạy: “Thế hệ này thật gian ác! Họ đòi xem dấu lạ, nhưng dấu lạ Giô-na cũng đủ rồi.
30 for as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation.
Dấu lạ ấy chứng tỏ cho người Ni-ni-ve biết Đức Chúa Trời đã sai Giô-na, thì dấu lạ của Con Người sẽ minh chứng cho thế hệ này thấy Đức Chúa Trời đã sai Ta xuống đời.
31 A queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, [One] greater than Solomon [is] here!
Đến ngày phán xét, Nữ hoàng Sê-ba sẽ đứng lên buộc tội thế hệ này, vì bà đến từ một nước xa xăm đến nghe lời lẽ khôn ngoan của Vua Sa-lô-môn. Nhưng tại đây có Đấng cao trọng hơn Sa-lô-môn mà chẳng ai muốn nghe.
32 Men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, because they converted at the proclamation of Jonah; and behold, [One] greater than Jonah [is] here!
Đến ngày phán xét, người Ni-ni-ve cũng sẽ đứng lên buộc tội thế hệ này. Vì nghe Giô-na cảnh cáo, họ đã ăn năn lìa bỏ tội ác, quay về Đức Chúa Trời. Nhưng tại đây có Đấng cao trọng hơn Giô-na mà dân này không chịu ăn năn.”
33 And no one having lighted a lamp, puts [it] in a secret place, nor under the measure, but on the lampstand, that those coming in may behold the light.
“Không ai thắp đèn rồi đậy kín, nhưng đem đặt trên giá đèn để mọi người trong nhà đều thấy ánh sáng.
34 The lamp of the body is the eye, when then your eye may be simple, your whole body is also lightened; and when it may be evil, your body is also darkened;
Mắt là ngọn đèn của thân thể. Nếu mắt các con sáng suốt, cả con người mới trong sạch. Nhưng nếu mắt bị quáng lòa, cả con người sẽ tối tăm.
35 take heed, then, lest the light that [is] in you is darkness;
Vậy phải thận trọng, đừng để ánh sáng trong các con thành tối tăm.
36 if then your whole body is lightened, not having any part darkened, the whole will be lightened, as when the lamp by the brightness may give you light.”
Nếu cả con người các con sáng láng, không phần nào tối tăm, các con sẽ rực rỡ như ánh đèn thật sáng rọi vào các con.”
37 And in [His] speaking, a certain Pharisee was asking Him that He might dine with him, and having gone in, He reclined,
Chúa Giê-xu giảng dạy xong, một thầy Pha-ri-si mời Chúa ăn tối. Ngài đến nhà, ngồi vào bàn.
38 and the Pharisee having seen, wondered that He did not first immerse Himself before the early meal.
Thầy Pha-ri-si rất ngạc nhiên thấy Chúa không rửa tay trước khi ăn theo tục lệ Do Thái.
39 And the LORD said to him, “Now you, the Pharisees, make the outside of the cup and of the plate clean, but your inward part is full of robbery and wickedness.
Chúa dạy: “Phái Pha-ri-si các ông chỉ lo rửa bề ngoài chén đĩa, nhưng trong lòng đầy tham nhũng, độc ác.
40 Unthinking [ones]! Did He who made the outside not also make the inside?
Thật khờ dại! Đức Chúa Trời đã tạo ra bề ngoài, lẽ nào không dựng nên bề trong sao?
41 But what you have given [as] alms, and behold, all things are clean to you.
Cứ rộng lòng cứu trợ người nghèo, tất nhiên các ông sẽ được tinh sạch.
42 But woe to you, the Pharisees, because you tithe the mint, and the rue, and every herb, and you pass by the judgment and the love of God; these things [you] should do, and those not to be neglecting.
Khốn cho phái Pha-ri-si! Các ông dâng một phần mười bạc hà, cửu lý hương, và các thứ rau cỏ, nhưng lại bỏ quên công lý và tình yêu của Đức Chúa Trời. Dâng phần mười là đúng, nhưng không được bỏ những điều quan trọng kia.
43 Woe to you, the Pharisees, because you love the first seats in the synagogues and the salutations in the marketplaces.
Khốn cho phái Pha-ri-si! Các ông ưa ngồi ghế danh dự trong hội đường, thích được người ta kính chào ngoài đường phố.
44 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you are as the unseen tombs, and the men walking above have not known.”
Khốn cho các ông, vì các ông giống như nấm mồ hoang không dấu tích, người ta dẫm lên mà không biết.”
45 And one of the lawyers answering, says to Him, “Teacher, saying these things, You also insult us”;
Nghe Chúa quở trách, một thầy dạy luật thưa: “Thầy nói thế là sỉ nhục luôn cả giới chúng tôi nữa.”
46 and He said, “And to you, the lawyers, woe! Because you burden men with burdens [too] grievous to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Khốn cho giới dạy luật! Các ông đặt ra bao nhiêu luật lệ khắt khe buộc người khác vâng giữ, trong khi chính các ông không giữ một điều nào!
47 Woe to you, because you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Các ông xây mộ cho các nhà tiên tri bị tổ tiên các ông sát hại.
48 Then you testify, and are well pleased with the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs;
Vậy các ông tán thưởng hành động của tổ tiên, họ giết các nhà tiên tri, còn các ông xây mộ.
49 because of this also the wisdom of God said: I will send to them prophets, and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,
Vì thế, Đức Chúa Trời đã nói: ‘Ta sẽ sai các tiên tri và sứ đồ đến, nhưng họ sẽ xử tử người này, khủng bố người kia.’
50 that the blood of all the prophets, that is being poured forth from the foundation of the world, may be required from this generation—
Thế hệ các ông phải chịu trách nhiệm về máu các tiên tri của Đức Chúa Trời đổ ra từ thuở sáng tạo trời đất đến nay,
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zacharias, who perished between the altar and the house; yes, I say to you, it will be required from this generation.
từ máu A-bên cho đến máu Xa-cha-ri, người bị giết giữa bàn thờ và Đền Thờ. Phải, Ta xác nhận chắc chắn rằng thế hệ này phải lãnh trọn trách nhiệm.
52 Woe to you, the lawyers, because you took away the key of the knowledge; you yourselves did not enter; and you hindered those coming in.”
Khốn cho giới dạy luật, vì các ông cố tình che lấp chân lý! Đã không tin, các ông còn ngăn cản, không cho người khác tìm hiểu chân lý.”
53 And in His speaking these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began fearfully to urge and to press Him to speak about many things,
Khi Chúa Giê-xu rời nơi đó, các thầy dạy luật và Pha-ri-si vô cùng giận dữ.
54 laying wait for Him, and seeking to catch something out of His mouth, that they might accuse Him.
Họ đặt nhiều câu hỏi hóc búa về mọi vấn đề, cố gài bẫy để có lý do bắt Ngài.
