Leviticus 16
1 And YHWH speaks to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, in their drawing near before YHWH, and they die;
Sesudah kedua anak Harun mati pada waktu mempersembahkan api yang tidak dikehendaki TUHAN, TUHAN berbicara kepada Musa,
2 indeed, YHWH says to Moses, “Speak to your brother Aaron, and he does not come in at all times to the holy place within the veil, to the front of the propitiatory covering, which [is] on the Ark, and he does not die, for I am seen in a cloud on the propitiatory covering.
kata-Nya, "Sampaikanlah kepada saudaramu Harun, bahwa hanya pada waktu yang ditentukan ia boleh memasuki Ruang Mahasuci yang dipisahkan dengan tirai, karena di situlah Aku menampakkan diri-Ku dalam awan di atas tutup Peti Perjanjian. Kalau Harun melanggar perintah itu, ia akan mati.
3 With this Aaron comes into the holy place: with a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering;
Hanya dengan cara mempersembahkan sapi jantan muda untuk kurban pengampunan dosa dan seekor domba jantan untuk kurban bakaran, Harun boleh memasuki Ruang Mahasuci."
4 he puts on a holy linen coat, and linen trousers are on his flesh, and he girds himself with a linen girdle, and he wraps himself up with a linen turban; they [are] holy garments; and he has bathed his flesh with water and put them on.
Selanjutnya Harun harus memperhatikan peraturan-peraturan ini. Sebelum memasuki Ruang Mahasuci ia harus mandi lalu memakai pakaian imam, yaitu baju, celana pendek, ikat pinggang dan serban, semuanya dari kain linen.
5 And from the congregation of the sons of Israel he takes two kids of the goats for a sin-offering and one ram for a burnt-offering;
Lalu umat Israel harus menyerahkan kepada Harun dua ekor kambing jantan untuk kurban pengampunan dosa dan seekor domba jantan untuk kurban bakaran.
6 and Aaron has brought the bullock of the sin-offering near, which is his own, and has made atonement for himself and for his house;
Harun harus mempersembahkan seekor sapi jantan untuk kurban pengampunan dosa bagi dirinya sendiri dan keluarganya.
7 and he has taken the two goats, and has caused them to stand before YHWH, at the opening of the Tent of Meeting.
Kedua ekor kambing jantan dari umat Israel harus dibawanya ke depan pintu Kemah TUHAN.
8 And Aaron has given lots over the two goats, one lot for YHWH and one lot for a goat of departure;
Di situ ia harus membuang undi dengan menggunakan dua batu, yang satu ditandai "untuk TUHAN", dan yang lain "untuk Azazel".
9 and Aaron has brought the goat near, on which the lot for YHWH has gone up, and has made it a sin-offering.
Kambing yang terpilih bagi TUHAN harus dipersembahkan untuk kurban pengampunan dosa.
10 And the goat on which the lot for a goat of departure has gone up is caused to stand living before YHWH to make atonement by it, to send it away for a goat of departure into the wilderness.
Kambing yang terpilih bagi Azazel harus ditempatkan hidup-hidup di hadapan TUHAN lalu diusir ke padang gurun bagi Azazel, supaya dosa-dosa bangsa Israel dihapuskan.
11 And Aaron has brought the bullock of the sin-offering near, which is his own, and has made atonement for himself and for his house, and has slaughtered the bullock of the sin-offering which [is] his own,
Setelah Harun mempersembahkan dan menyembelih sapi jantan untuk kurban pengampunan dosa bagi dirinya sendiri dan bagi keluarganya,
12 and has taken the fullness of the censer of burning coals of fire from off the altar, from before YHWH, and the fullness of his hands of thin spice-incense, and has brought [it] within the veil;
ia harus mengambil tempat api dari mezbah dan mengisinya penuh dengan bara api dan dua genggam dupa halus, lalu membawanya ke Ruang Mahasuci.
13 and he has put the incense on the fire before YHWH, and the cloud of the incense has covered the propitiatory covering which [is] on the Testimony, and he does not die.
Dupa itu harus dibakarnya di depan Peti Perjanjian, sehingga asapnya menyelubungi tutup Peti itu dan Harun tidak dapat melihatnya, sebab kalau ia melihatnya, ia akan mati.
14 And he has taken of the blood of the bullock, and has sprinkled with his finger on the front of the propitiatory covering eastward; even at the front of the propitiatory covering he sprinkles seven times of the blood with his finger.
Lalu Harun harus mengambil sedikit darah sapi, dan dengan jarinya memercikkan darah itu ke bagian muka tutup Peti Perjanjian dan tujuh kali ke depan Peti.
15 And he has slaughtered the goat of the sin-offering which [is] the people’s, and has brought in its blood to the inside of the veil, and has done with its blood as he has done with the blood of the bullock, and has sprinkled it on the propitiatory covering, and at the front of the propitiatory covering,
Sesudah itu Harun harus menyembelih kambing untuk kurban pengampunan dosa umat Israel. Darah kambing itu harus dibawanya ke Ruang Mahasuci, lalu dipercikkan ke bagian depan tutup Peti Perjanjian dan ke depan Peti, seperti yang sudah dilakukannya dengan darah sapi jantan.
16 and he has made atonement for the holy place because of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins; and so he does for the Tent of Meeting which is dwelling with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.
Dengan cara itu ia menyucikan Ruang Mahasuci dari kenajisan bangsa Israel dan dari segala dosa mereka. Kemah TUHAN harus disucikan karena berada di tengah-tengah perkemahan bangsa Israel dan kena kenajisan mereka.
17 And no man is in the Tent of Meeting in his going in to make atonement in the holy place, until his coming out; and he has made atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the assembly of Israel.
Mulai dari saat Harun memasuki Ruang Mahasuci untuk melakukan upacara penyucian sampai ia keluar, seorang pun tak boleh berada di dalam Kemah itu. Sesudah selesai melakukan upacara untuk dirinya sendiri, untuk keluarganya dan untuk seluruh bangsa Israel,
18 And he has gone out to the altar which [is] before YHWH, and has made atonement for it; and he has taken of the blood of the bullock and of the blood of the goat, and has put [it] around the horns of the altar;
Harun harus keluar dan pergi ke mezbah kurban bakaran untuk menyucikan mezbah itu. Ia harus mengambil sedikit darah sapi dan darah kambing, dan mengoleskannya pada tanduk-tanduk di sudut-sudut mezbah.
19 and he has sprinkled on it of the blood with his finger seven times, and has cleansed it, and has hallowed it from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel.
Dengan jarinya ia harus memercikkan sedikit darah itu tujuh kali ke atas mezbah. Dengan cara itu ia menyucikan mezbah dari kenajisan bangsa Israel, supaya menjadi suci.
20 And he has ceased from making atonement [for] the holy place, and the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, and has brought the living goat near;
Sesudah mengadakan upacara penyucian Ruang Mahasuci dan bagian-bagian lain dari Kemah TUHAN serta mezbahnya, Harun harus mempersembahkan kepada TUHAN kambing yang hidup yang dipilih bagi Azazel.
21 and Aaron has laid his two hands on the head of the living goat, and has confessed over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, and has put them on the head of the goat, and has sent [it] away by the hand of a ready man into the wilderness;
Ia harus meletakkan kedua tangannya di atas kepala kambing itu sambil mengakui semua kesalahan, dosa dan pelanggaran bangsa Israel. Dengan demikian semua kesalahan bangsa Israel dipindahkan ke atas kepala kambing itu. Lalu seorang yang ditugaskan harus mengusir kambing itu ke padang gurun.
22 and the goat has borne on himself all their iniquities to a land of separation. And he has sent the goat away into the wilderness,
Kambing itu membawa semua dosa bangsa Israel ke daerah tandus yang tidak didiami dan ia harus dilepaskan di padang gurun.
23 and Aaron has come into the Tent of Meeting, and has stripped off the linen garments which he had put on in his going into the holy place, and has placed them there;
Sesudah itu Harun harus masuk ke dalam Kemah, membuka pakaian imam yang dipakainya waktu masuk ke Ruang Mahasuci, dan meninggalkan pakaian itu di sana.
24 and he has bathed his flesh with water in the holy place, and has put on his garments, and has come out, and has made his burnt-offering, and the burnt-offering of the people, and has made atonement for himself and for the people;
Lalu ia harus mandi di suatu tempat yang dikhususkan dan memakai pakaiannya sendiri. Sesudahnya ia harus keluar dan mempersembahkan kurban bakaran untuk pengampunan dosanya sendiri dan dosa bangsa Israel.
25 and with the fat of the sin-offering he makes incense on the altar.
Lemak binatang untuk kurban pengampunan dosa harus dibakar di mezbah.
26 And he who is sending the goat away for a goat of departure washes his garments, and has bathed his flesh with water, and afterward he comes into the camp.
Orang yang melepaskan kambing bagi Azazel di padang gurun harus mencuci pakaiannya dan mandi sebelum pulang ke perkemahan.
27 And the bullock of the sin-offering and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood has been brought in to make atonement in the holy place, [one] brings out to the outside of the camp, and they have burned their skins, and their flesh, and their dung with fire;
Sapi jantan dan kambing untuk kurban pengampunan dosa, yang darahnya dibawa masuk ke Ruang Mahasuci untuk pengampunan dosa, harus dibawa ke luar perkemahan dan dibakar. Kulit, daging dan isi perut kedua binatang harus dibakar semuanya.
28 and he who is burning them washes his garments, and has bathed his flesh with water, and afterward he comes into the camp.
Orang yang membakarnya harus mencuci pakaiannya dan mandi sebelum pulang ke perkemahan.
29 And it has been for a continuous statute to you, in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you humble yourselves, and do no work—the native and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst;
Peraturan-peraturan ini harus ditaati untuk selama-lamanya. Pada tanggal sepuluh bulan tujuh, orang Israel dan orang asing yang menetap di antara mereka harus berpuasa dan dilarang bekerja, karena hari ini hari yang sangat suci. Pada hari itu harus dilakukan upacara untuk menyucikan bangsa Israel dari segala dosa mereka supaya mereka bersih.
30 for on this day he makes atonement for you, to cleanse you; you are clean from all your sins before YHWH;
31 it [is] a Sabbath of rest for you, and you have humbled yourselves—a continuous statute.
32 And the priest whom he anoints, and whose hand he consecrates to act as priest instead of his father, has made atonement, and has put on the linen garments, the holy garments;
Imam Agung, yang sudah ditahbiskan dan dikhususkan bagi Allah untuk menggantikan ayahnya, harus melakukan upacara penyucian itu. Ia harus memakai pakaian khusus,
33 and he has made atonement [for] the holy sanctuary; and [for] the Tent of Meeting, even [for] the altar he makes atonement; indeed, he makes atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
lalu melakukan upacara penyucian Ruang Mahasuci, bagian-bagian lain dari Kemah TUHAN, mezbah, imam-imam dan seluruh bangsa Israel.
34 And this has been for a continuous statute to you, to make atonement for the sons of Israel, because of all their sins, once in a year”; and he does as YHWH has commanded Moses.
Upacara itu harus dilakukan sekali setahun untuk menyucikan bangsa Israel dari segala dosa mereka. Itulah peraturan-peraturan yang harus ditaati untuk selama-lamanya. Musa melakukan seperti yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepadanya.
