Lamentations 4
1 [ALEPH-BET] How the gold has become dim, Changed the best—the pure gold! Stones of the sanctuary are poured out At the head of all out-places.
സ്വർണത്തിനു തിളക്കം നഷ്ടമായത് എങ്ങനെ, തങ്കത്തിനു ശോഭ കുറഞ്ഞതും എങ്ങനെ! അപൂർവരത്നങ്ങൾ ഓരോ ചത്വരത്തിലും ചിതറിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 The precious sons of Zion, Who are comparable with fine gold, How they have been reckoned earthen bottles, Work of the hands of a potter.
സീയോന്റെ അമൂല്യസന്തതികൾ ഒരിക്കൽ തങ്കത്തിനുതുല്യമായി മതിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നവർ, ഇന്ന് കളിമൺകലങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതെങ്ങനെ! കുശവന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പണിപോലെ ആയതെങ്ങനെ!
3 Even dragons have drawn out the breast, They have suckled their young ones, The daughter of my people has become cruel, Like the ostriches in a wilderness.
കുറുനരികൾപോലും അതിന്റെ കുട്ടികളെ മുലയൂട്ടി പോറ്റുന്നു, എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ജനം മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ ഹൃദയശൂന്യരായിരിക്കുന്നു.
4 The tongue of a suckling has cleaved to his palate with thirst, Infants asked for bread, they have no dealer [of it] out.
ദാഹംകൊണ്ട് ശിശുക്കളുടെ നാവ് അണ്ണാക്കോട് പറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു; മക്കൾ അപ്പം തിരക്കുന്നു, ആരും അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല.
5 Those eating of delicacies have been desolate in out-places, Those supported on scarlet have embraced dunghills.
ഒരിക്കൽ സ്വാദുഭോജ്യം കഴിച്ചവർ ഇന്ന് തെരുക്കോണുകളിൽ പട്ടിണികിടക്കുന്നു. ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു വളർന്നവർ ഇന്ന് ചാരക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങളിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു.
6 And greater is the iniquity of the daughter of my people, Than the sin of Sodom, That was overturned as [in] a moment, And no hands were stayed on her.
ഒരു കൈപോലും സഹായിക്കാനില്ലാതെ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട സൊദോമിന്റേതിലും വലിയതാണ് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ശിക്ഷ.
7 Purer were her Nazarites than snow, Whiter than milk, ruddier of body than rubies, Of sapphire their form.
അവളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഹിമത്തെക്കാൾ പ്രശോഭിതരും പാലിനെക്കാൾ വെൺമയുള്ളവരും ആയിരുന്നു, അവരുടെ ദേഹം മാണിക്യങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ചെമന്നത് അവരുടെ ശോഭ ഇന്ദ്രനീലക്കല്ലുപോലെയും ആയിരുന്നു.
8 Their face has been darker than blackness, They have not been known in out-places, Their skin has cleaved to their bone, It has withered—it has been as wood.
എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ അവർ കരിമണലിനെക്കാൾ കറുത്തവരാണ്; തെരുവീഥികളിൽ അവർ തിരിച്ചറിയപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. അവരുടെ ത്വക്ക് അസ്ഥികളോട് പറ്റി ഉണങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു അത് ഒരു മരക്കൊമ്പുപോലെ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
9 Better have been the pierced of a sword Than the pierced of famine, For these flow away, pierced through, Without the increase of the field.
വാൾകൊണ്ട് മരിച്ചവർ ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ട് മരിച്ചവരെക്കാൾ ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളവർ; നിലത്തിലെ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്റെ ദൗർലഭ്യംകൊണ്ട് വിശപ്പിന്റെ പീഡയിൽ അവർ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.
10 The hands of merciful women have boiled their own children, They have been for food to them, In the destruction of the daughter of my people.
കാരുണ്യവതികളായ സ്ത്രീകൾ അവരുടെ കരങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് പാകംചെയ്ത സ്വന്തം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നാശത്തിങ്കൽ അവർക്ക് ഭക്ഷണമായിത്തീർന്നു.
11 YHWH has completed His fury, He has poured out the fierceness of His anger, And He kindles a fire in Zion, And it devours her foundations.
യഹോവ തന്റെ ക്രോധം പൂർണമായി അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടു; തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം അവിടന്ന് വർഷിച്ചു. അവിടന്ന് സീയോനിൽ തീ കത്തിച്ചു. അത് അവളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
12 The kings of earth did not believe, And any of the inhabitants of the world, That an adversary and enemy would come Into the gates of Jerusalem.
ശത്രുക്കൾക്കും വൈരികൾക്കും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ കവാടത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാനാകുമെന്ന് ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാരോ ഏതെങ്കിലും ലോകജനതയോ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.
13 Because of the sins of her prophets, The iniquities of her priests, Who are shedding in her midst the blood of the righteous,
എന്നാൽ അവളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ പാപംനിമിത്തവും അവളുടെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തവും അതു സംഭവിച്ചു. അവർ അവളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽത്തന്നെ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ രക്തംചൊരിഞ്ഞല്ലോ.
14 They have wandered naked in out-places, They have been defiled with blood, Without [any] being able to touch their clothing,
ഇപ്പോൾ അവർ തെരുവീഥികളിലൂടെ അന്ധരെപ്പോലെ തപ്പിത്തടഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു. ഒരാൾക്കും അവരുടെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളിൽപോലും സ്പർശിക്കാൻ ധൈര്യംവരാതവണ്ണം അവർ രക്തംകൊണ്ട് മലീമസമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 “Turn aside—unclean,” they called to them, “Turn aside, turn aside, do not touch,” For they fled—indeed, they have wandered, They have said among nations: “They do not add to sojourn.”
“മാറിപ്പോകൂ! നിങ്ങൾ അശുദ്ധരാണ്!” മനുഷ്യർ അവരോട് വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു, “ദൂരേ! ദൂരേ! ഞങ്ങളെ തൊടരുത്!” അവർ ഓടി അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുമ്പോൾ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ജനം പറയുന്നു, “അവർക്ക് ഇവിടെ ഏറെനാൾ താമസിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല.”
16 The face of YHWH has divided them, He does not add to behold them, They have not lifted up the face of priests, They have not favored [the] old and elderly.
യഹോവതന്നെ അവരെ ചിതറിച്ചു; അവിടന്ന് അവരെ കടാക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്ക് ബഹുമാനമോ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാർക്ക് ആനുകൂല്യമോ ലഭിച്ചില്ല.
17 While we exist—consumed are our eyes for our vain help, In our watchtower we have watched for a nation [that] does not save.
മാത്രമല്ല, സഹായത്തിനു വ്യർഥമായി നോക്കി ഞങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് കാഴ്ചമങ്ങി. ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരു ദേശത്ത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാവൽഗോപുരത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ കാത്തിരുന്നു.
18 They have hunted our steps from going in our broad-places, Near has been our end, fulfilled our days, For our end has come.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീഥികളിൽ നടക്കാനാകാത്തവിധം മനുഷ്യൻ ഓരോ ചുവടിലും ഞങ്ങളെ പതുങ്ങി പിൻതുടർന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്ത്യം അടുത്തിരുന്നു, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദിനങ്ങൾ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു, ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്ത്യം വന്നിരുന്നു.
19 Swifter have been our pursuers, Than the eagles of the heavens, On the mountains they have burned [after] us, In the wilderness they have laid wait for us.
ഞങ്ങളെ പിൻതുടരുന്നവർ ആകാശത്തിലെ കഴുകനെക്കാൾ വേഗമേറിയവരായിരുന്നു; അവർ പർവതങ്ങളുടെ മീതേ ഞങ്ങളെ പിൻതുടർന്ന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പതിയിരുന്നു.
20 The breath of our nostrils—the anointed of YHWH, Has been captured in their pits, of whom we said: “We live among nations in his shadow.”
യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തൻ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവശ്വാസംതന്നെ, അവരുടെ കെണികളിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടു. ജനതകളുടെ മധ്യേ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിഴലിൽ ജീവിക്കുമെന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ വിചാരിച്ചു.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, Dwelling in the land of Uz, Even to you a cup passes over, You are drunk, and make yourself naked.
ഊസ് ദേശത്തു പാർക്കുന്ന ഏദോംപുത്രീ, ഉല്ലസിച്ച് ആനന്ദിക്കുക. എന്നാൽ നിനക്കും പാനപാത്രം നൽകപ്പെടും; നീ ലഹരിപിടിച്ച് നഗ്നയാക്കപ്പെടും.
22 Completed [is] your iniquity, daughter of Zion, He does not add to remove you, He has inspected your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, He has removed [you] because of your sins!
സീയോൻപുത്രീ, നിന്റെ ശിക്ഷ അവസാനിക്കും; അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ പ്രവാസത്തെ ദീർഘിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല. എന്നാൽ ഏദോംപുത്രീ, അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ പാപത്തിന് ശിക്ഷനൽകുകയും നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
