< Lamentations 4 >

1 [ALEPH-BET] How the gold has become dim, Changed the best—the pure gold! Stones of the sanctuary are poured out At the head of all out-places.
Akore te nikomavo o volamenao, hete! niova o volamena ki’eo! Hene nadoandoañe aolo’ ze lalan-drova eo o vato soao.
2 The precious sons of Zion, Who are comparable with fine gold, How they have been reckoned earthen bottles, Work of the hands of a potter.
Mañeva volamena hiringiri’e mira amo lanja’eo o ajaja’ sarots’ i Tsioneo; akore t’ie oharañe am-balàñe-tane henaneo, asam-pitàm-panao valàñe-tane!
3 Even dragons have drawn out the breast, They have suckled their young ones, The daughter of my people has become cruel, Like the ostriches in a wilderness.
Ndra o fanalokeo ro manolotse nono, hampinono o ana’eo, fe ampisoañeñe manahake o voron-tsatrañe am-patrañ’añeo ondatikoo henane zao.
4 The tongue of a suckling has cleaved to his palate with thirst, Infants asked for bread, they have no dealer [of it] out.
Mipitek’ an-dañilañi’e ty lela’ o anak’ajajao amy harandrano’ey; mangata-kaneñe o ajajao, fe tsy amam-panisa.
5 Those eating of delicacies have been desolate in out-places, Those supported on scarlet have embraced dunghills.
Mikoromak’ an-dalañeo o nitakataka raha mafirio; mitambozòtse votren-davenoke o nibeizeñe an-tsikiñe malo-mavoo,
6 And greater is the iniquity of the daughter of my people, Than the sin of Sodom, That was overturned as [in] a moment, And no hands were stayed on her.
Fa lombolombo’ ty nandilovañe i Sedome ty nandafañe ondatikoo, ie aniany te narotsake, ie fitàn-draike tsy zinonjoñ’ ama’e.
7 Purer were her Nazarites than snow, Whiter than milk, ruddier of body than rubies, Of sapphire their form.
Nikotritriake hoe fanala o roandria’eo, foty te aman-dronono; nilikoatse o safira pinilak’ amo vonga’eoo, ty filoeloem-binta’ iareo.
8 Their face has been darker than blackness, They have not been known in out-places, Their skin has cleaved to their bone, It has withered—it has been as wood.
Mainten-geroke hoe molale o tareheo henaneo; tsy fohiñe an-dalañey iereo, fa niforejeje amo taola’eo ty holi’ iareo, mipipìke hoe hatae maike.
9 Better have been the pierced of a sword Than the pierced of famine, For these flow away, pierced through, Without the increase of the field.
Falefale i tinombom-pibaray te amo trinofan-kasalikoañeo, ie mitike avao ty fiai’ iretoañe, ie tsy taka-tsindroheñe o tondao.
10 The hands of merciful women have boiled their own children, They have been for food to them, In the destruction of the daughter of my people.
O fitan-drakemba mpitretre’eo fa nahandro o ana’eo; ninjare filintse’e, ami’ty famongorañe o anak’ ampela’ ondatikoo.
11 YHWH has completed His fury, He has poured out the fierceness of His anger, And He kindles a fire in Zion, And it devours her foundations.
Nihenefa’ Iehovà i fifombo’ey; fa nadoa’e i haviñera’e miforoforoy, vaho namiañe afo e Tsione ao ze namorototo o mananta’eo.
12 The kings of earth did not believe, And any of the inhabitants of the world, That an adversary and enemy would come Into the gates of Jerusalem.
Tsy nahafiantoke o mpifehe’ ty tane toio, ndra o mpimone’ ty voatse toio, t’ie hahafimoak’ an-dalambei’ Ierosalaime ao, ty rafelahy ndra ty sadia-vahe.
13 Because of the sins of her prophets, The iniquities of her priests, Who are shedding in her midst the blood of the righteous,
Ie iaby izay le ty amo hakeom-pitoki’eo naho o tahim-pisoro’eo, ie nampiorihe’ iareo lio-màliñe.
14 They have wandered naked in out-places, They have been defiled with blood, Without [any] being able to touch their clothing,
Ie nirererere hoe goa an-dalan-drova ao; tsy teo ty nahavany hitsapa o siki’eo ami’ty hativa’e.
15 “Turn aside—unclean,” they called to them, “Turn aside, turn aside, do not touch,” For they fled—indeed, they have wandered, They have said among nations: “They do not add to sojourn.”
Soike! Veta! ty nitazataza’ ondatio am’ iareo; Soike! Añe! ko mitsapa! aa le gike naho mpirererere iereo; le hoe ty natao’ o kilakila’ ndatio: Tsy hitobok’ atoy ka iereo.
16 The face of YHWH has divided them, He does not add to behold them, They have not lifted up the face of priests, They have not favored [the] old and elderly.
Nampivarakaihe’ ty haviñera’ Iehovà, tsy ho haoñe’e ka; tsy niasia’ iareo o mpisoroñeo, tsy nisohe’ iareo o androanavio.
17 While we exist—consumed are our eyes for our vain help, In our watchtower we have watched for a nation [that] does not save.
Fa milesa o fihaino’aio, mitolom-pijilojilo imba tsy vente’e; nitalake avao zahay nitama fifeheañe tsy maharombake;
18 They have hunted our steps from going in our broad-places, Near has been our end, fulfilled our days, For our end has come.
Ie nitinoñe o lia’aio, zahay tsy naha-jelanjelañe amo lala’aio; mitotoke ty figadoña’ay, voa-iake o andro’aio, vaho an-titotse ty fimodoa’ay.
19 Swifter have been our pursuers, Than the eagles of the heavens, On the mountains they have burned [after] us, In the wilderness they have laid wait for us.
Nasika te amo tsimalahoo o nihofik’ ama’aio; linafa’ iareo am-bohitsey, vinandro’ iareo an-dratraratra ao.
20 The breath of our nostrils—the anointed of YHWH, Has been captured in their pits, of whom we said: “We live among nations in his shadow.”
O kofòn’ai’aio, o noriza’Iehovào le fa tinavañe an-kobo’ iareo ao— ie nataon-tika ty hoe: Ambanen’alo’e ao ty himoneñan-tika añivo’ o kilakila’ ndatioy.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, Dwelling in the land of Uz, Even to you a cup passes over, You are drunk, and make yourself naked.
Mirebeha, mifalea ry anak’ampela Edome, ihe mimoneñe an-tane Oze ao; fe hiary ama’o ka i fitoviy; ho jike irehe vaho hañalo-batañe, hiboridañe.
22 Completed [is] your iniquity, daughter of Zion, He does not add to remove you, He has inspected your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, He has removed [you] because of your sins!
Fa heneke ty hijebañañe o hakeo’oo, ry anak’ampela’ i Tsiòneo, tsy hasese’e mb’an-drohy añe ka; fe ho lilove’e o tahi’oo ry anak’ampela Edomeo, fonga habora’e o hakeo’oo.
