< Judges 5 >
1 And Deborah sings—also Barak son of Abinoam—on that day, saying,
Ku olwo Debola ne Baraki mutabani wa Abinoamu ne bayimba bwe bati:
2 “For freeing leaders in Israel, For a people willingly offering themselves, Bless YHWH.
“Mutendereze Mukama kubanga mu Isirayiri abakulembeze baatuukiriza omulimu gwabwe n’abantu ne beewaayo nga baagala.
3 Hear, you kings; give ear, you princes, I sing to YHWH, I sing praise to YHWH, God of Israel.
“Muwulirize mmwe bakabaka, musseeyo omwoyo mmwe abalangira; nze kennyini, nze nnaayimbira Mukama; nze nnaayimbira Mukama Katonda wa Isirayiri.
4 YHWH, in Your going forth out of Seir, In Your stepping out of the field of Edom, The earth trembled and the heavens dropped, And thick clouds dropped water.
“Mukama, bwe wava e Seyiri, bwe wava mu kitundu kya Edomu okutabaala, ensi n’ekankana, enkuba n’eyiika okuva mu ggulu. Weewaawo, ebire ne bifukumuka amazzi.
5 Hills flowed from the face of YHWH, This one—Sinai—From the face of YHWH, God of Israel.
Ensozi ne zikankana awali Mukama, Oyo owa Sinaayi, ne lukankana mu maaso Mukama Katonda w’Abayisirayiri.
6 In the days of Shamgar son of Anath—In the days of Jael—The ways have ceased, And those going in the paths go [in] crooked ways.
“Ku mulembe gwa Samugali, mutabani wa Anasi, ne ku mulembe gwa Yayeeri abatambuze tebaayitanga, mu nguudo nnene, baatambuliranga mu mpenda.
7 Villages ceased in Israel—they ceased, Until I arose—Deborah, That I arose, a mother in Israel.
Abakulembeze mu Isirayiri baggwaawo okutuusa nze Debola lwe nayimuka, nga nnyina wa bonna mu Isirayiri.
8 He chooses new gods, Then war [is] at the gates! A shield is not seen—and a spear Among forty thousand in Israel.
Bwe beefunira abakulembeze abalala, entalo ne ziryoka zibalukawo mu Isirayiri. Ku basajja Abayisirayiri emitwalo ena kwaliko n’omu eyalina effumu oba engabo?
9 My heart [is] to the lawgivers of Israel, Who are offering themselves willingly among the people, Bless YHWH!
Omutima gwange guli eri abakulembeze b’Abayisirayiri, n’eri abantu abeewaayo nga baagala. Mutendereze Mukama.
10 Riders on white donkeys—Sitters on a long robe—And walkers by the way—meditate!
“Mukyogereko mmwe, abeebagala ku ndogoyi enjeru, mmwe abatuula ku biwempe ebirungi ennyo, nammwe abatambulira mu kkubo.
11 By the voice of shouters Between the places of drawing water, There they give out righteous acts of YHWH, Righteous acts of His villages in Israel, Then the people of YHWH have gone down to the gates.
Wulira oluyimba lw’abantu ku luzzi, nga batendereza obuwanguzi era n’ebikolwa bya Mukama eby’obutuukirivu, ebikolwa bye eby’obutuukirivu nga akulembera Abayisirayiri. “Awo abantu ba Mukama ne baserengeta, ne bagenda ku miryango gy’ebibuga byabwe.
12 Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song; Rise, Barak, and take your captivity captive, Son of Abinoam.
Zuukuka, zuukuka Debola zuukuka, zuukuka, okulembere oluyimba; golokoka, Baraki okulembere abawambe bo nga basibiddwa, ggwe mutabani wa Abinoamu.
13 Then him who is left of the majestic ones He caused to rule the people of YHWH, He caused me to rule among the mighty.
“Awo abakungu abaasigalawo ne baserengeta, abantu ba Mukama, ne baserengeta okulwanyisa ow’amaanyi.
14 From Ephraim [are] those whose root [is] in Amalek, After you, Benjamin, among your peoples, From Machir lawgivers came down, And from Zebulun those drawing with the reed of a writer.
Awo abaava mu kitundu kya Efulayimu ne baserengeta mu kiwonvu, nga bakugoberera ggwe, Benyamini, n’ab’ekika kyo. Mu Makiri ne wavaayo abakulembeze, ne baserengeta, ne mu kitundu kya Zebbulooni ne wavaayo abaduumizi.
15 And princes in Issachar [are] with Deborah, Indeed, Issachar [is] right with Barak, Into the valley he was sent on his feet. In the divisions of Reuben, The decrees of heart [are] great!
Abalangira ba Isakaali baali wamu ne Debola; era Isakaali yali wamu ne Baraki. Ne bafubutuka okumugoberera mu kiwonvu. Olw’enjawukana ezaali mu kika kya Lewubeeni, waaliwo okusooka okufumiitiriza ennyo mu mitima gyabwe.
16 Why have you abided between the boundaries, To hear lowings of herds? For the divisions of Reuben, The searchings of heart [are] great!
Kiki ekyakusigaza mu bisibo byo eby’endiga, okuwuliriza endere zebafuuyira endiga? Olw’enjawukana ezaali mu kika kya Lewubeeni, waaliwo okusooka okufumiitiriza ennyo mu mitima gyabwe.
17 Gilead dwelt beyond the Jordan, And why does Dan sojourn [in] ships? Asher has abided at the haven of the seas, And dwells by his creeks.
Ab’ekika kya Gireyaadi baasigala mitala wa Yoludaani. N’ab’ekika kya Ddaani ekyabasigaza mu byombo kiki? Ab’ekika kya Aseri; baasigala ku lubalama lw’ennyanja, ne babeera awali emyalo gyabwe.
18 Zebulun [is] a people who exposed its soul to death, Naphtali also—on high places of the field.
Ab’ekika kya Zebbulooni baawaayo obulamu bwabwe, era n’ab’ekika kya Nafutaali mu ddwaniro.
19 Kings came—they fought; Then kings of Canaan fought, In Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; They did not take gain of money!
“Ku mugga gw’e Megiddo mu Taanaki, bakabaka bajja ne balwana, bakabaka b’e Kanani baalwana. Naye tebaanyaga bintu.
20 They fought from the heavens: The stars fought with Sisera from their highways.
Emunyeenye zaalwana nga zisinziira mu ggulu, zaalwanyisa Sisera nga bwe zetoloola mu bbanga.
21 The Brook of Kishon swept them away, The most ancient brook—the Brook of Kishon. You tread down strength, O my soul!
Omugga Kisoni gwabasanyizaawo ddala, omugga ogwo ogw’edda omugga Kisoni. Ggwe emmeeme yange, kkumba n’amaanyi.
22 Then the horse-heels were broken, By gallopings—gallopings of its mighty ones.
Awo embalaasi ne zijja nga zirigita era nga bwe zisambirira ettaka, ensolo zaabwe ezo ez’amaanyi.
23 Curse Meroz, said a messenger of YHWH, Cursing, curse its inhabitants! For they did not come to the help of YHWH, To the help of YHWH among the mighty!
Malayika wa Mukama n’agamba nti, ‘Mukolimire Merozi. Mukolimire nnyo ababeera e Merozi; kubanga tebeetaba mu lutalo lwa Mukama. Tebaalwetabaamu nga Mukama Katonda alwanyisa ab’amaanyi.’
24 Above women is Jael, The wife of Heber the Kenite, She is blessed above women in the tent.
“Nga wa mukisa Yayeeri okusinga abakazi bonna! Nga wa mukisa Yayeeri mukazi w’Omukeeni Keberi, okusinga abakazi bonna ababeera mu weema!
25 He asked for water—she gave milk; She brought butter near in a lordly dish.
Bwe yasaba amazzi, yamuwa mata, era n’amuleetera n’omuzigo mu bbawulo ey’ekikungu.
26 She sends forth her hand to the pin, And her right hand to the laborers’ hammer, And she hammered Sisera—she struck his head, Indeed, she struck, and it passed through his temple.
Yakwata enkondo ya weema mu mukono gwe ogwa kkono, n’ennyondo mu gwa ddyo, n’akomerera Sisera enkondo mu kyenyi n’eyita namu.
27 He bowed between her feet—He fell, he lay down; He bowed between her feet, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell—destroyed.
Amaanyi gaamuggwa n’agwa; yagwa ku bigere bya Yayeeri n’alambaala we yagwa we yafiira.
28 She has looked out through the window—Indeed, she cries out—the mother of Sisera, Through the lattice: Why is his chariot delaying to come? Why have the steps of his chariot tarried?
“Nnyina wa Sisera yalingiriza mu ddirisa; yayisa amaaso mu ddirisa, n’aleekaanira waggulu nti ‘Kiki ekirwisizza eggaali lye okujja? Okuguluba kw’eggaali lye nga sikuwulira?’
29 The wise ones, her princesses, answer her, Indeed, she returns her sayings to herself:
Abazaana be abagezi baba tebanamuddamu ne yeddamu yekka.
30 Do they not find? They apportion spoil, A female—two females—for every head, Spoil of finger-work for Sisera, Spoil of embroidered finger-work, Finger-work—a pair of embroidered things, For the necks of the spoil!
‘Tebazudde omunyago era tebali mu kugugabana, omuwala omu oba babiri buli musajja? Sisera tufunye omunyago ogw’engoye enduke ez’amabala? Eminagiro ebiri emiruke, egy’amabala tegiibe gyange?’
31 So do all Your enemies perish, O YHWH, And those loving Him [are] As the going out of the sun in its might!” And the land rests [for] forty years.
“Ayi Mukama Katonda abalabe bo bazikirirenga bwe batyo nga Sisera. Naye abo bonna abakwagala bamasemasenga ng’enjuba ey’akavaayo mu maanyi gaayo.” Awo ne wayitawo emyaka ana nga Abayisirayiri bali mu mirembe.
