< Judges 4 >
1 And the sons of Israel add to do evil in the eyes of YHWH when Ehud is dead,
Thuutha wa Ehudu gũkua-rĩ, andũ a Isiraeli o rĩngĩ magĩĩka maũndũ mooru maitho-inĩ ma Jehova.
2 and YHWH sells them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who has reigned in Hazor, and Sisera [is] the head of his host, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the nations;
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jehova akĩmarekereria moko-inĩ ma Jabini, mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Kaanani ũrĩa waathanaga kũu Hazoru. Nake mũnene wa mbũtũ ciake cia mbaara eetagwo Sisera, ũrĩa watũũraga kũu Haroshethu-Hagoyimu.
3 and the sons of Israel cry to YHWH, for he has nine hundred chariots of iron, and he has oppressed the sons of Israel mightily [for] twenty years.
Jabini aarĩ na ngaari cia ita cia igera magana kenda, na nĩahinyĩrĩirie andũ a Isiraeli atarĩ na tha ihinda rĩa mĩaka mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ, nao andũ a Isiraeli magĩkaĩra Jehova amateithie.
4 And Deborah, a woman, a prophetess, wife of Lapidoth, she is judging Israel at that time,
Na rĩrĩ, Debora, mũnabii mũndũ-wa-nja, mũtumia wa Lapidothu, nĩwe watongoragia Isiraeli hĩndĩ ĩyo.
5 and she is dwelling under the palm-tree of Deborah, between Ramah and Beth-El, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel go up to her for judgment.
Nake aarĩ na handũ ha gũciirĩra rungu rwa Mũkĩndũ wa Debora, gatagatĩ ka Rama na Betheli kũu bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ irĩma wa Efiraimu, nao andũ a Isiraeli maathiiaga harĩ we nĩgeetha amatuithanie maciira.
6 And she sends and calls for Barak son of Abinoam, out of Kedesh-Naphtali, and says to him, “Has YHWH, God of Israel, not commanded? Go, and you have drawn toward Mount Tabor, and have taken with you ten thousand men, out of the sons of Naphtali, and out of the sons of Zebulun,
Debora agĩtũmanĩra Baraka mũrũ wa Abinoamu kuuma Kedeshi ya Nafitali, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Jehova Ngai wa Isiraeli nĩaragwatha agakwĩra atĩrĩ, ‘Thiĩ, woe andũ 10,000 a kuuma Nafitali na Zebuluni, na ũmatongorie nginya Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Taboru.
7 and I have drawn to you, to the Brook of Kishon, Sisera, head of the host of Jabin, and his chariot, and his multitude, and have given him into your hand.”
Niĩ nĩngũguucĩrĩria Sisera, mũnene wa mbũtũ cia ita cia Jabini, hamwe na ngaari ciake cia ita na thigari ciake nginya rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Kishoni, ndĩmũneane moko-inĩ maku.’”
8 And Barak says to her, “If you go with me, then I have gone; and if you do not go with me, I do not go”;
Nake Baraka akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nĩngũthiĩ aakorwo nĩũgũtwarana hamwe na niĩ; no aakorwo ndũgũtwarana hamwe na niĩ-rĩ, o na niĩ ndigũthiĩ.”
9 and she says, “I certainly go with you; only, surely your glory is not on the way which you are going, for YHWH sells Sisera into the hand of a woman”; and Deborah rises and goes with Barak to Kedesh.
Nake Debora akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nĩ wega, nĩngũtwarana nawe. No rĩrĩ, nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa ũroya ũhoro ũyũ-rĩ, gĩtĩĩo gĩtigatuĩka gĩaku, nĩgũkorwo Jehova nĩekũneana Sisera moko-inĩ ma mũndũ-wa-nja.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Debora agĩtwarana na Baraka nginya Kadeshi,
10 And Barak calls Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and he goes up—ten thousand men [are] at his feet—and Deborah goes up with him.
na kũu Baraka agĩĩta andũ a Zebuluni na a Nafitali. Andũ 10,000 makĩmũrũmĩrĩra, o na Debora agĩthiĩ hamwe nake.
11 And Heber the Kenite has been separated from the Kenite, from the sons of Hobab father-in-law of Moses, and he stretches out his tent to the oak in Zaanaim, which [is] by Kedesh.
Na rĩrĩ, Heberi ũrĩa Mũkeni nĩeyamũrĩte agatigana na Akeni arĩa angĩ a rũciaro rwa Hobabu, mũthoni-we wa Musa, na akaamba hema yake mũtĩ-inĩ ũrĩa mũnene kũu Zaananimu gũkuhĩ na Kadeshi.
12 And they declare to Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam has gone up to Mount Tabor,
Nao andũ makĩhe Sisera ũhoro, atĩ Baraka mũrũ wa Abinoamu nĩambatĩte agakinya Kĩrĩma gĩa Taboru.
13 and Sisera calls all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who [are] with him, from Harosheth of the nations, to the Brook of Kishon.
Sisera agĩcookanĩrĩria ngaari ciake cia ita cia igera magana kenda, hamwe na andũ othe arĩa maarĩ hamwe nake, kuuma Haroshethu-Hagoyimu nginya Rũũĩ rwa Kishoni.
14 And Deborah says to Barak, “Rise, for this [is] the day in which YHWH has given Sisera into your hand; has YHWH not gone out before you?” And Barak goes down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
Nake Debora akĩĩra Baraka atĩrĩ, “Thiĩ! Ũyũ nĩguo mũthenya ũrĩa Jehova aneanĩte Sisera moko-inĩ maku. Githĩ Jehova tiwe ũthiĩte arĩ mbere yaku?” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Baraka agĩikũrũka oimĩte Kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩa Taboru, arũmĩrĩirwo nĩ andũ 10,000.
15 And YHWH destroys Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, by the mouth of the sword, before Barak, and Sisera comes down from off the chariot, and flees on his feet.
Rĩrĩa Baraka aamakuhĩrĩirie, Jehova akĩingatithia Sisera hamwe na ngaari ciake cia ita ciothe, na mbũtũ yake yothe, akĩmahũũra na rũhiũ rwa njora, nake Sisera agĩtiganĩria ngaari yake ya ita, akĩũra na magũrũ.
16 And Barak has pursued after the chariots and after the camp, to Harosheth of the nations, and all the camp of Sisera falls by the mouth of the sword—there has not been left even one.
No Baraka akĩingatithia ngaari icio cia ita o hamwe na mbũtũ cia ita nginya Haroshethu-Hagoyimu. Nacio thigari ciothe cia Sisera ikĩũragwo na rũhiũ rwa njora; na gũtirĩ mũndũ o na ũmwe watigarire.
17 And Sisera has fled on his feet to the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite, for [there is] peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite;
No rĩrĩ, Sisera agĩĩthara na magũrũ, akĩũrĩra hema-inĩ ya Jaeli, mũtumia wa Heberi ũrĩa Mũkeni, nĩ ũndũ kwarĩ na ũrata gatagatĩ-inĩ ka Jabini mũthamaki wa Hazoru na mbarĩ ya Heberi ũcio Mũkeni.
18 and Jael goes out to meet Sisera and says to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me, do not fear”; and he turns aside to her, into the tent, and she covers him with a mantle.
Jaeli akiumagara agatũnge Sisera, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũka, mwathi wakwa, toonya thĩinĩ. Ndũgetigĩre.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩtoonya hema thĩinĩ nake Jaeli akĩmũhumbĩra.
19 And he says to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty”; and she opens the bottle of milk, and gives him to drink, and covers him.
Sisera akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ndĩ mũnyootu, ndagũthaitha he maaĩ nyue.” Jaeli agĩkunũra mbũthũ ya iria, akĩmũhe anyue, agĩcooka akĩmũhumbĩra.
20 And he says to her, “Stand at the opening of the tent, and it has been, if any comes in, and has asked you and said, Is there a man here? That you have said, There is not.”
Sisera akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Rũgama mũrango-inĩ wa hema, na hangĩũka mũndũ akũũrie atĩrĩ, ‘Kũrĩ mũndũ ũrĩ gũkũ?’ uuge atĩrĩ, ‘Aca.’”
21 And Jael wife of Heber takes the pin of the tent, and takes the hammer in her hand, and goes to him gently, and strikes the pin into his temples, and it fastens in the earth—and he has been fast asleep, and is weary—and he dies.
No Jaeli ũcio mũtumia wa Heberi akĩoya higĩ ya hema na nyondo, agĩthiĩ acemete harĩa Sisera aakomete anogete mũno. Akĩhũũrĩrĩra higĩ ĩyo thikĩrĩrio-inĩ, ĩgĩtũrĩkania nginya igĩtoonyerera thĩ, nake agĩkua.
22 And behold, Barak is pursuing Sisera, and Jael comes out to meet him, and says to him, “Come, and I show you the man whom you are seeking”; and he comes to her, and behold, Sisera is fallen—dead, and the pin [is] in his temples.
Baraka agĩũka aingatithĩtie Sisera, nake Jaeli agĩthiĩ kũmũtũnga. Akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũka, nĩngũkuonia mũndũ ũrĩa ũracaria.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Baraka agĩtoonya hamwe na Jaeli, na agĩkora Sisera akomete thĩ arĩ mũkuũ nayo higĩ ĩmũtũrĩkanĩtie thikĩrĩrio.
23 And God humbles Jabin king of Canaan before the sons of Israel on that day,
Mũthenya ũcio-rĩ, nĩguo Ngai aatooririe Jabini, mũthamaki wa andũ a Kaanani, mbere ya andũ a Isiraeli.
24 and the hand of the sons of Israel goes, going on and becoming hard on Jabin king of Canaan, until they have cut off Jabin king of Canaan.
Nakuo guoko kwa andũ a Isiraeli gũgĩkĩrĩrĩria kũgĩa na hinya igũrũ rĩa Jabini, mũthamaki wa andũ a Kaanani, nginya makĩmũniina biũ.
