Joshua 18
1 And all the congregation of the sons of Israel is assembled [at] Shiloh, and they cause the Tent of Meeting to dwell there, and the land has been subdued before them.
La tierra había sido sometida y estaba ante ellos. Los israelitas se reunieron en Silo e instalaron el Tabernáculo de Reunión.
2 And there are seven tribes left among the sons of Israel who have not shared their inheritance,
Sin embargo, siete de las tribus israelitas no habían recibido sus asignaciones de tierras.
3 and Joshua says to the sons of Israel, “Until when are you remiss to go in to possess the land which He, YHWH, God of your fathers, has given to you?
Entonces Josué les preguntó a los israelitas: “¿Hasta cuándo seguirán siendo reacios a ir a tomar posesión de la tierra que el Señor le dio a sus antepasados?
4 Give three men from you for [each] tribe, and I send them, and they rise and go up and down through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance, and come to me,
Elijan a tres hombres de cada tribu y los enviaré a explorar la tierra. Luego podrán escribir una descripción sobre la distribución de la tierra y traérmela.
5 and they have divided it into seven portions—Judah stays by its border on the south, and the house of Joseph stays by their border on the north—
Deben dividir la tierra en siete partes, hasta el límite de la tierra de Judá en el sur y la de José en el norte.
6 and you describe the land [in] seven portions, and have brought [it] to me here, and I have cast a lot for you here before our God YHWH;
Una vez que hayas escrito la descripción de la tierra, dividiéndola en siete partes, me la traerás aquí y yo te echaré suertes en presencia del Señor, nuestro Dios.
7 for there is no portion for the Levites in your midst, for the priesthood of YHWH [is] their inheritance, and Gad, and Reuben, and half of the tribe of Manasseh received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses, servant of YHWH, gave to them.”
“Pero los levitas no reciben una parte, pues su función como sacerdotes del Señor es su asignación. Además, Gad, Rubén y la media tribu de Manasés ya han recibido su asignación que Moisés, el siervo del Señor, les dio en el lado oriental del Jordán”.
8 And the men rise and go; and Joshua commands those who are going to describe the land, saying, “Go, and walk up and down through the land, and describe it, and return to me, and here I cast a lot for you before YHWH in Shiloh.”
Cuando los hombres se pusieron en camino para explorar la tierra Josué les dijo: “Recorran la tierra y escriban una descripción de lo que encuentren. Luego vuelvan a mí y yo les echaré suertes en presencia del Señor, aquí en Silo”.
9 And the men go, and pass over through the land, and describe it by cities, in seven portions, on a scroll, and they come to Joshua, to the camp [at] Shiloh.
Así que los hombres fueron y exploraron la tierra y escribieron en un pergamino una descripción de las siete partes, registrando los pueblos de cada parte. Luego regresaron con Josué al campamento de Silo
10 And Joshua casts a lot for them in Shiloh before YHWH, and there Joshua apportions the land to the sons of Israel, according to their divisions.
w donde Josué les echó suertes en presencia del Señor. Allí Josué dividió la tierra y asignó las diferentes partes a las tribus israelitas que quedaban.
11 And a lot goes up [for] the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, for their families; and the border of their lot goes out between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.
La primera suerte echada fue para la tribu de Benjamín, por familias. La tierra asignada estaba entre la de la tribu de Judá y la de la tribu de José.
12 And the border is for them at the north side from the Jordan, and the border has gone up to the side of Jericho on the north, and gone up through the hill-country westward, and its outgoings have been at the wilderness of Beth-Aven;
Su límite comenzaba en el Jordán, iba al norte de la ladera de Jericó, al oeste a través de la región montañosa, y salía al desierto de Bet-aven.
13 and the border has gone over there to Luz, to the side of Luz (it [is] Beth-El) southward, and the border has gone down [to] Atroth-Addar, by the hill that [is] on the south of the lower Beth-Horon;
Luego el límite iba hacia el sur hasta Luz (o Betel) y bajaba hasta Atarot-adar en la montaña al sur de la parte baja de Bet-horón.
14 and the border has been marked out, and has gone around to the corner of the sea southward, from the hill which [is] at the front of Beth-Horon southward, and its outgoings have been to Kirjath-Ba‘al (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim), a city of the sons of Judah: this [is] the west quarter.
Aquí el límite giraba hacia el sur a lo largo del lado occidental de la montaña frente a Bet-horón, terminando en Quiriat-baal (o Quiriat-Yearín), una ciudad de la tribu de Judá. Este era el límite occidental.
15 And the south quarter [is] from the end of Kirjath-Jearim, and the border has gone out westward, and has gone out to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;
El límite sur comenzaba en el límite de Quiriat-Yearín. Corría hasta el manantial de Neftoa,
16 and the border has come down to the extremity of the hill which [is] on the front of the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which [is] in the Valley of the Rephaim northward, and has gone down the Valley of Hinnom to the side of Jebusi southward, and gone down [to] En-Rogel,
y luego bajaba hasta el pie de la montaña que da al valle de Ben-hinom, en el extremo norte del valle de Refayín. Luego bajaba por el valle de Hinom, por la ladera cercana a la ciudad jebusea, al sur, hacia En-rogel.
17 and has been marked out on the north, and gone out to En-Shemesh, and gone out to Geliloth, which [is] opposite the ascent of Adummim, and gone down [to] the stone of Bohan son of Reuben,
Desde allí se dirigía hacia el norte, hacia En-semes y hacia Gelilot, frente a las alturas de Adumín, y luego bajó hasta la Piedra de Bohán (hijo de Rubén).
18 and passed over to the side in front of the Arabah northward, and gone down to Arabah;
Luego recorría la cordillera frente al valle del Jordán, hacia el norte, y después bajaban al mismo valle del Jordán.
19 and the border has passed over to the side of Beth-Hoglah northward, and the outgoings of the border have been to the north bay of the Salt Sea, to the south extremity of the Jordan; this [is] the south border;
Desde allí corría a lo largo de la ladera norte de Bet-hogá, terminando en la bahía norte del Mar Salado, el extremo sur del Jordán. Este era el límite sur.
20 and the Jordan borders it at the east quarter; this [is] the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by its borders all around, for their families.
El límite oriental era el Jordán. Estos eran los límites alrededor de la tierra de la tribu de Benjamín, por familias.
21 And the cities for the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, for their families, have been Jericho, and Beth-Hoglah, and the Valley of Keziz,
Estas eran las ciudades de la tribu de Benjamín, por familias: Jericó, Bet-hogá, Emec-casis,
22 and Beth-Arabah, Zemaraim, and Beth-El,
Bet-arabá, Zemaryin, Betel,
23 and Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,
Avīn, Pará, Ofra,
24 and Chephar-Haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities and their villages.
Quefar-amoní, Ofni y Gueba. En total, doce ciudades con sus correspondientes aldeas.
25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,
Además: Gabaón, Ramá, Beerot,
26 and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
Mizpa, Kefira, Moza,
27 and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,
Rekem, Irpeel, Taralá,
28 and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi (it [is] Jerusalem), Gibeath, Kirjath; fourteen cities and their villages. This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, for their families.
Zela, Haelef, Jebús (o Jerusalén), Guibeá y Quiriat-Yearín, es decir, catorce ciudades con sus aldeas correspondientes. Esta fue la tierra asignada a la tribu de Benjamín, por familias.
