< Joshua 17 >

1 And the lot is for the tribe of Manasseh (for he [is] firstborn of Joseph), for Machir firstborn of Manasseh, father of Gilead, for he has been a man of war, and his are Gilead and Bashan.
Nke a bụ oke e kenyere ndị ebo Manase, bụ ọkpara Josef, ya bụ Makia ọkpara Manase, onye bụ nna nna ndị Gilead. Onye natara ala Gilead na Bashan, nʼihi na ndị agbụrụ Makia bụ dike nʼagha.
2 And there is [a lot] for the sons of Manasseh who are left, for their families; for the sons of Abiezer, and for the sons of Helek, and for the sons of Asriel, and for the sons of Shechem, and for the sons of Hepher, and for the sons of Shemida; these [are] the children of Manasseh son of Joseph—the males—by their families.
Ya mere, oke a dịịrị ndị fọdụrụ nʼebo Manase dịka ezinaụlọ ha si dị. Agbụrụ Abieza, Helek, Asriel, Shekem, Hefa na Shemida. Ndị a bụ ụmụ ndị ikom agbụrụ Manase, nwa Josef, dịka ikwu ha si dị.
3 As for Zelophehad, son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, he has no children except daughters, and these [are] the names of his daughters: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah,
Ma Zelofehad, nwa Hefa, nwa Gilead, nwa Makia, nwa Manase, amụtaghị ụmụ ndị ikom kama ọ mụtara naanị ụmụ ndị inyom, ndị aha ha bụ nke a: Mahla, Noa, Hogla, Milka na Tịaza.
4 and they draw near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, “YHWH commanded Moses to give an inheritance to us in the midst of our brothers”; and he gives to them, at the command of YHWH, an inheritance in the midst of the brothers of their father.
5 And ten portions fall [to] Manasseh, apart from the land of Gilead and Bashan, which [are] beyond the Jordan;
Manase chịtara ala oke iri, tinyere Gilead, na Bashan nke dị nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ Jọdan,
6 for the daughters of Manasseh have inherited an inheritance in the midst of his sons, and the land of Gilead has been for the sons of Manasseh who are left.
7 And the border of Manasseh is from Asher to Michmethah, which [is] on the front of Shechem, and the border has gone on to the right, to the inhabitants of En-Tappuah.
Oke ala ebo Manase gbatịrị site nʼAsha ruo na Mikmetat, nke dị nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ Shekem. Ọ gbatịkwara nʼakụkụ ndịda site nʼebe ahụ tinyere ndị bi nʼala En-Tapụọa.
8 The land of Tappuah has been for Manasseh, and Tappuah to the border of Manasseh for the sons of Ephraim.
Ala dị gburugburu Tapụọa bụ ala ebo Manase, ma obodo Tapụọa nʼonwe ya, nke dị nʼoke ala ebo Manase, bụ obodo ebo Ifrem.
9 And the border has come down [to] the Brook of Kanah, southward of the brook; these cities of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the cities of Manasseh, and the border of Manasseh [is] on the north of the brook, and its outgoings are at the sea.
Oke ala ụmụ Manase gbatịrị ga ndịda ruo na mmiri iyi Kana. Ụfọdụ obodo ndị Ifrem dị nʼebe ahụ, nʼetiti obodo ndị Manase, kama oke ala ndị Manase nʼakụkụ ugwu iyi ahụ kwụsịrị nʼosimiri Mediterenịa.
10 Southward [is] for Ephraim and northward for Manasseh, and the sea is his border, and in Asher they meet on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
Ala dị na ndịda bụ nke e kenyere Ifrem, ma ala mgbago ugwu bụ nke Manase. Ala ndị Manase gbatịrị ruo nʼosimiri Mediterenịa ma ha na ndị Asha nwekọrọ oke ala nʼakụkụ ugwu, ebe ha na ndị Isaka nwere oke ala nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ.
11 And in Issachar and in Asher, Manasseh has Beth-Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of En-Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns—three counties.
12 And the sons of Manasseh have not been able to occupy these cities, and the Canaanite is desirous to dwell in this land,
Ma ụmụ Manase enweghị ike ịchụpụ ndị Kenan bi nʼobodo ndị ahụ, nʼihi na ndị Kenan nọgidere bichie obodo ndị a.
13 and it comes to pass, when the sons of Israel have been strong, that they put the Canaanite to forced labor, and have not utterly dispossessed him.
Ma nʼikpeazụ, mgbe ụmụ Izrel ghọrọ ndị dị ike, ha achụpụghị ndị Kenan niile bi nʼobodo ndị a kpamkpam, kama ha mere ka ha bụrụ ndị na-ejere ụmụ Izrel ozi, dịka ndị ohu ha.
14 And the sons of Joseph speak with Joshua, saying, “Why have you given an inheritance to me—one lot and one portion, and I [am] a numerous people? YHWH has blessed me until now.”
Ma ụmụ ụmụ Josef sịrị Joshua, “Gịnị mere i ji nye anyị naanị otu ụzọ ala ka ọ bụrụ ihe nketa anyị? Ị hụrụ na Onyenwe anyị gọziri anyị mee ka ọnụọgụgụ anyị baa ụba.”
15 And Joshua says to them, “If you [are] a numerous people, go up to the forest for yourself, then you have created [a place] for yourself there in the land of the Perizzite and of the Rephaim, when Mount Ephraim has been narrow for you.”
Joshua zara sị ha: “Ọ bụrụ na ala ugwu ugwu Ifrem agaghị ezuru unu nʼihi na unu bara ụba nʼọnụọgụgụ, gaanụ nʼoke ọhịa sụchasịa ala, nʼime ala ndị Periz, na nke ndị Refaim.”
16 And the sons of Joseph say, “The mountain is not enough for us, and a chariot of iron [is] with every Canaanite who is dwelling in the land of the valley—to him who [is] in Beth-Shean and its towns, and to him who [is] in the Valley of Jezreel.”
Ụmụ Josef zara Joshua sị, “Ala ugwu ugwu a agaghị ezuru anyị. Ọzọ, ndị Kenan niile bi nʼala dị larịị nwere ụgbọala igwe, ma ndị niile bi na Bet-Shan, na ụmụ obodo nta ha na ndị bikwa na Ndagwurugwu Jezril.”
17 And Joshua speaks to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, “You [are] a numerous people, and have great power; you do not have [only] one lot,
Ma Joshua zara ụmụ Josef, ya bụ, Ifrem na Manase, sị ha, “Unu dị ukwuu nʼọnụọgụgụ, bụrụkwa ndị dị ike, ọ bụghị naanị otu oke ka unu ga-eketa,
18 because the mountain is yours; because it [is] a forest—you have created it, and its outgoings have been yours; because you dispossess the Canaanite, though it has chariots of iron—though it [is] strong.”
