Joshua 16
1 And the lot for the sons of Joseph goes out from Jordan [by] Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,
Garis-garis batas tanah yang ditunjuk untuk keturunan Yusuf, mulai dari Sungai Yordan dekat Yerikho, sebelah timur sumber-sumber air Yerikho sampai ke padang pasir. Dari Yerikho, garis itu naik sampai ke Betel di daerah pegunungan.
2 and has gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over to the border of Archi [to] Ataroth,
Dari Betel, garis itu menuju ke Lus, lewat Atarot, yaitu tempat tinggal orang Arki.
3 and gone down westward to the border of Japhleti, to the border of the lower Beth-Horon, and to Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
Dari situ garis itu menuju ke Barat ke daerah kaum Yaflet, sampai ke Bet-Horon-Hilir, terus ke Gezer, lalu berakhir di Laut Tengah.
4 And the sons of Joseph—Manasseh and Ephraim—inherit.
Itulah daerah yang diberikan kepada suku Manasye dan Efraim, keturunan Yusuf, untuk menjadi tanah milik mereka.
5 And the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar to the upper Beth-Horon;
Berikut ini adalah batas-batas tanah yang diberikan kepada keluarga-keluarga dalam suku Efraim. Di sebelah timur, garis batas tanah mereka mulai dari Atarot-Adar sampai ke Bet-Horon-Hulu,
6 and the border has gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border has gone around eastward [to] Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,
lalu terus menuju ke Laut Tengah. Mikhmetat berada di sebelah utaranya. Di sebelah timurnya, garis batas itu membelok ke arah Taanat-Silo, lalu melewatinya dari sebelah timur menuju ke Yanoah.
7 and gone down from Janohah [to] Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.
Dari situ garis itu turun ke Atarot dan Naharat, lalu terus menyusur Yerikho dan berakhir di Sungai Yordan.
8 From Tappuah the border goes westward to the Brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.
Di sebelah barat, garis batas Efraim itu mulai dari Tapuah sampai ke anak Sungai Kana, lalu berakhir di Laut Tengah. Itulah tanah yang diberikan kepada keluarga-keluarga dari suku Efraim, untuk menjadi milik mereka,
9 And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;
termasuk beberapa kota kecil dan desa yang terletak di dalam wilayah Manasye.
10 and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and is for forced labor—serving.
Tetapi suku Efraim tidak mengusir orang Kanaan dari daerah Gezer. Itu sebabnya sampai sekarang orang Kanaan masih tinggal di Gezer bersama-sama dengan orang Efraim, tetapi mereka dipaksa bekerja sebagai hamba untuk orang Efraim.
