Joshua 16
1 And the lot for the sons of Joseph goes out from Jordan [by] Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,

2 and has gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over to the border of Archi [to] Ataroth,
dan van Betel uit verder naar het gebied der Arkieten tot Atarot;
3 and gone down westward to the border of Japhleti, to the border of the lower Beth-Horon, and to Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
vervolgens ging ze westwaarts omlaag naar het gebied der Jafletieten tot dat van Laag Bet-Choron en tot Gézer, en eindigde bij de zee.
4 And the sons of Joseph—Manasseh and Ephraim—inherit.
De zonen van Josef, Efraïm en Manasse, kregen het volgend erfdeel:
5 And the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar to the upper Beth-Horon;
Dit was het gebied van de families der Efraïmieten: De oostelijke grens van hun erfdeel was Atrot-Addar tot Hoog Bet-Choron.
6 and the border has gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border has gone around eastward [to] Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,
De westelijke grens liep tot Mikmetat in het noorden, boog dan oostwaarts naar Taänat-Sjilo, en verder tot ten oosten van Janóach;
7 and gone down from Janohah [to] Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.
van Janóach daalde ze tot Atarot en Naärata, en ging langs Jericho, tot ze uitkwam bij de Jordaan.
8 From Tappuah the border goes westward to the Brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.
Van Tappóeach liep de grens westwaarts naar de beek Kana, en eindigde bij de zee. Dit is het erfdeel van de families van de stam der Efraïmieten.
9 And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;
Verder nog de steden, die voor de Efraïmieten midden in het erfdeel der kinderen van Manasse waren afgezonderd, al die steden met haar dorpen.
10 and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and is for forced labor—serving.
Maar de Kanaänieten, die in Gézer woonden, verdreven ze niet, zodat de Kanaänieten midden in Efraïm bleven wonen tot op de huidige dag; ze werden echter dienstplichtig.
