< Joshua 14 >
1 And these [are] they of the sons of Israel who inherited in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, caused to inherit;
Qaima Eleazar, Nun capa Joshua hoi Israel acaeng zaehoikungnawk loe, nihcae khaeah paek ih, Kanaan praenawk to Israel kaminawk mah qawk ah toep o.
2 their inheritance [is] by lot, as YHWH commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe;
Angraeng mah Mosi khae thuih ih lok baktih toengah, acaeng takawtto pacoeng, acaeng ahap ah kaom kaminawk loe, taham khethaih phoisa vah ih baktih toengah qawk to a toep o.
3 for Moses has given the inheritance of two of the tribes, and of half of the tribe, beyond the Jordan, and he has not given an inheritance to the Levites in their midst;
Mosi mah acaeng hnetto hoi acaeng ahap ah kaom kami hanah, Jordan vapui ni angyae bang ih prae to qawk ah paek; toe Levi kaminawk loe tih qawk doeh paek pae ai.
4 for the sons of Joseph have been two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they have not given a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, and their outskirts for their livestock, and for their possessions;
Acaeng hnetto ah kaom Joseph ih caanawk loe, Manasseh hoi Ephraim acaeng thuikoehhaih ih ni; Levi kaminawk han prae to paek ai; toe maitawnawk to pacah hanah nihcae ohhaih vangpui hoi a taeng ah kaom long ahmuennawk to a hak o.
5 as YHWH commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel have done, and they apportion the land.
Angraeng mah Mosi khae paek ih lok baktih toengah, Israel kaminawk mah, prae to amzet o.
6 And the sons of Judah come near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite says to him, “You have known the word that YHWH has spoken to Moses, the man of God, concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh-Barnea:
Judah kaminawk loe Gilgal vangpui ah Joshua khaeah caeh o; Keniz acaeng Jephunneh capa Kaleb mah anih khaeah, Angraeng mah Kadesh-Bernea ah, Sithaw kami Mosi khaeah nang hoi kai kawng thuih ih lok to na panoek.
7 I [was] a son of forty years in Moses, servant of YHWH, sending me from Kadesh-Barnea, to spy out the land, and I bring him back word as with my heart;
Angraeng ih tamna Mosi mah prae khet han Kadesh-Bernea hoi ang patoeh naah, kai loe saning quipalito ka oh boeh; ka hnuk ih baktih toengah anih khaeah ka thuih pae let.
8 and my brothers who have gone up with me have caused the heart of the people to melt, and I have been fully after my God YHWH;
Toe kaimah hoi nawnto kacaeh kam nawkamyanawk mah kaminawk ih palungthin to tui baktiah amkaw o sak; toe kai loe ka Angraeng Sithaw hnukah palungthin boih hoiah pazui.
9 and Moses swears in that day, saying, Nevertheless—the land on which your foot has trodden, it is to you for an inheritance, and to your sons—for all time, for you have been fully after my God YHWH.
To na niah Mosi mah, Nang loe palungthin boih hoiah ka Angraeng Sithaw hnukah na bang pongah, na khok hoi cawh ih prae to, nangmah hoi na caanawk mah dungzan khoek to toep o ih qawk ah om tih, tiah lokkamhaih a sak.
10 And now, behold, YHWH has kept me alive, as He has spoken, these forty-five years, since YHWH spoke this word to Moses when Israel went in the wilderness; and now, behold, I [am] a son of eighty-five years today;
Israel kaminawk praezaek ah amhet o naah, Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah lokthuih pae na ni hoi kamtong, a thuih ih lok baktih toengah vaihni ni khoek to, saning quipali, pangato khoek to ang hingsak boeh; khenah, kai loe vaihi saning quitazet, pangato oh boeh.
11 yet today I [am] strong as in the day of Moses’ sending me; as my power [was] then, so [is] my power now, for battle, and to go out, and to come in.
Mosi mah ang patoeh nathuem ih baktih toengah vaihni doeh ka thacak vop; canghnii ih ka thacakhaih baktih toengah, misatukhaih ahmuen ah caeh hanah thacak vop.
12 And now, give this hill-country to me, of which YHWH spoke in that day, for you heard in that day, for Anakim [are] there, and great, fortified cities; if [it] so be [that] YHWH [is] with me, then I have dispossessed them, as YHWH has spoken.”
To pongah to nathuem ah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, hae mae hae vaihi kai hanah na paek ah; hae mae nuiah Anak kaminawk oh o; paroeai kalen, sipae kacakah thung ih vangpuinawk doeh oh, tiah nang mah doeh na thaih boeh; toe Angraeng mah na oh haih nahaeloe, Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, nihcae to ka haek boih thai tih hmang, tiah a naa.
13 And Joshua blesses him, and gives Hebron to Caleb son of Jephunneh for an inheritance,
To naah Joshua mah, Jephunneh capa Kaleb to tahamhoihaih paek moe, qawk ah Hebron vangpui to a paek.
14 therefore Hebron has been to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite for an inheritance to this day, because that he was fully after YHWH, God of Israel;
Keniz acaeng Jephunneh capa Kaleb loe, palungthin boih hoiah Israel Angraeng Sithaw hnukah bang pongah, Hebron vangpui to vaihni ni khoek to qawk ah a toep.
15 and the name of Hebron [was] formerly Kirjath-Arba (the man [was] the greatest among the Anakim); and the land has rest from war.
Canghnii ah loe Hebron vangpui to Kirjath-Arba, tiah kawk o; Arba loe Anak kaminawk thungah zaehoikung kalen koek ah oh; to nathuem ah prae thungah misa amdinghaih to oh.
