< Joshua 11 >

1 And it comes to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor hears, that he sends to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi he fanongo ʻa Sapini ko e tuʻi ʻo Hasoa ki he ngaahi meʻa ni, naʻe fekau ia kia Sopapi ko e tuʻi ʻo Matoni, pea ki he tuʻi ʻo Similoni, pea ki he tuʻi ʻo ʻAkisafi,
2 and to the kings who [are] on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,
Pea ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻoku ʻi he potu tokelau ʻoe ngaahi moʻunga, pea ʻi he ngaahi toafa ʻo Kineloti, pea ʻi he teleʻa, pea ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻo Toa ki he potu hihifo,
3 [to] the Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh—
[Pea ki he ]kakai Kēnani ʻi he potu hahake, pea ki lulunga, pea ki he kakai ʻAmoli, mo e kakai Heti, mo e kakai Pelesi, mo e kakai Sepusi ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga, pea ki he kakai Hevi ʻi lalo ʻi Heamoni ʻi he fonua ko Misipa.
4 and they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which [is] on the seashore for multitude, and [with] very many horse and charioteer;
Pea naʻa nau ʻalu kituaʻā, ʻakinautolu mo ʻenau ngaahi tau kotoa pē, ko e fuʻu kakai lahi, ʻo hangē hono tokolahi ko e ʻoneʻone ʻoku ʻi he matātahi, mo e ngaahi hoosi mo e ngaahi saliote lahi ʻaupito.
5 and all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
Pea ʻi he fakakātoa ʻae ngaahi tuʻi ni, naʻa nau haʻu ʻo ʻapitanga ʻi he ngaahi vai ʻo Melomi, kenau tauʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
6 And YHWH says to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of their presence, for about this time tomorrow I am giving all of them slain before Israel; hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.”
Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Siosiua, “ʻOua naʻa ke manavahē koeʻuhi ko kinautolu: he ko e feituʻulaʻā ni ʻapongipongi te u tuku ke tāmateʻi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻIsileli: te ke tutuʻu ʻae uoua [ʻoe vaʻe ]ʻo ʻenau fanga hoosi, pea tutu ʻenau ngaahi saliote ʻi he afi.”
7 And Joshua comes, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom, and they suddenly fall on them;
Ko ia naʻe haʻu fakafokifā ai ʻa Siosiua mo e kakai tau kotoa pē mo ia, kiate kinautolu ki he ngaahi vai ʻo Melomi; pea naʻa nau ʻoho atu kiate kinautolu.
8 and YHWH gives them into the hand of Israel, and they strike them and pursue them to the great Sidon, and to Misrephoth-Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they strike them, until he has not left a remnant to them;
Pea naʻe tukuange ʻe Sihova ʻakinautolu ki he nima ʻo ʻIsileli, pea nau taaʻi ʻakinautolu, pea naʻe tuli ʻakinautolu ki Saitoni lahi, pea ki Misilefotimeimi, pea ki he teleʻa ʻo Misipa ki he potu hahake; pea naʻa nau taaʻi ʻakinautolu, ʻo ʻikai tuku ha niʻihi ke toe.
9 and Joshua does to them as YHWH commanded to him; he has hamstrung their horses, and burned their chariots with fire.
10 And Joshua turns back at that time, and captures Hazor, and he has struck its king by the sword; for Hazor [was] formerly head of all these kingdoms;
Pea naʻe liu mai ʻa Siosiua ʻi he kuonga ko ia, ʻo ne maʻu ʻa Hasoa, ʻo ne taaʻi hono tuʻi ʻaki ʻae heletā: he ko Hasoa ko e ʻulu ia ʻi muʻa ki he ngaahi puleʻanga ni kotoa pē.
11 and they strike every person who [is] in it by the mouth of the sword; he has devoted—he has not left anyone breathing, and he has burned Hazor with fire;
Pea naʻa nau taaʻi ʻae kakai kotoa pē naʻe ʻi ai ʻaki ʻae mata ʻoe heletā, ʻo fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu: naʻe ʻikai ha niʻihi ke toe ke moʻui: pea naʻa ne tutu ʻa Hasoa ʻaki ʻae afi.
12 and all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, Joshua has captured, and he strikes them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of YHWH, commanded.
Pea ko e ngaahi kolo kotoa pē ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi ko ia, pea mo honau ngaahi tuʻi, naʻe maʻu ʻe Siosiua, ʻo ne taaʻi ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae mata ʻoe heletā, ʻo ne fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Mōsese ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻa Sihova.
13 Only, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel has not burned them—except Joshua has burned Hazor, only;
Ka koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi kolo naʻe kei tuʻu pe ʻi honau mālohi, naʻe ʻikai tutu ia ʻe ʻIsileli, ka ko Hasoa pē: ko ia ia naʻe tutu ʻe Siosiua.
14 and all the spoil of these cities, and the livestock, the sons of Israel have spoiled for themselves; only, they have struck every man by the mouth of the sword, until their destroying them; they have not left anyone breathing.
Pea ko e meʻa vete kotoa pē ʻoe ngaahi kolo ni, mo e fanga manu, naʻe toʻo ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ko e koloa kiate kinautolu; ka naʻa nau taaʻi ʻae tangata kotoa pē ʻaki ʻae mata ʻoe heletā, ke ʻoua kenau ʻauha ʻiate kinautolu, pea naʻe ʻikai tenau tuku ha niʻihi ke moʻui.
15 As YHWH commanded His servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua has done; he has not turned aside a thing of all that YHWH commanded Moses.
Hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ki heʻene tamaioʻeiki ko Mōsese, naʻe pehē pe hono fekauʻi ʻe Mōsese ʻa Siosiua, pea naʻe fai ia ʻe Siosiua: naʻe ʻikai tuku ʻe ia ha meʻa ʻe taha taʻefai, ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē naʻe fekau ʻe Sihova kia Mōsese.
16 And Joshua takes all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,
Ko ia naʻe maʻu ʻe Siosiua ʻae fonua kotoa pē, ko e ngaahi moʻunga, mo e ngaahi fonua ki he potu tonga, mo e fonua kotoa pē ko Koseni, mo e teleʻa, mo e toafa, mo e moʻunga ʻo ʻIsileli, pea mo e tafangafanga ʻo ia;
17 from the Mount of Halak, which is going up [to] Seir, and to Ba‘al-Gad, in the Valley of Lebanon, under Mount Hermon; and he has captured all their kings, and he strikes them, and puts them to death.
‌ʻIo, mei he moʻunga ko Halaki, ʻoku ʻalu hake ki Seia, ʻio, ʻo aʻu atu ki Peali-kata ʻi he teleʻa ʻo Lepanoni ʻi lalo ʻi he moʻunga ko Heamoni: mo honau ngaahi tuʻi naʻa ne maʻu, ʻo taaʻi, mo tāmateʻi ʻakinautolu.
18 Joshua has made war with all these kings [for] many days;
Naʻe fai fuoloa ʻe Siosiua ʻae tau mo e ngaahi tuʻi ko ia.
19 there has not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; they have taken the whole in battle;
Naʻe ʻikai ha kolo naʻe fakalelei mo e fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, ka ko e kakai Hevi ʻoku nofo ʻi Kipione: ko hono toe kotoa pē naʻa nau lavaʻi ʻi he tau.
20 for it has been from YHWH to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as YHWH commanded Moses.
21 And Joshua comes at that time, and cuts off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; Joshua has devoted them with their cities.
Pea naʻe haʻu ʻa Siosiua ʻi he kuonga ko ia, ʻo ne motuhi ʻae kau ʻAnaki mei he ngaahi moʻunga, mei Hepeloni, mo Tipa, mo ʻAnapi, pea mei he moʻunga kotoa pē ʻo Siuta, pea mei he ngaahi moʻunga kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli: naʻe fakaʻauha ʻaupito ʻakinautolu ʻe Siosiua mo ʻenau ngaahi kolo.
22 There has not been Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.
Naʻe ʻikai hano toe ʻoe kau ʻAnaki ʻi he fonua ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli: ka naʻe toe [ha niʻihi ]ʻi Kesa, mo Kati, pea ʻi ʻAsitoti.
23 And Joshua takes the whole of the land, according to all that YHWH has spoken to Moses, and Joshua gives it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land has rest from war.
Pea naʻe mālōlō ʻae fonua mei he tau.
