< Joshua 10 >
1 And it comes to pass, when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem hears that Joshua has captured Ai, and devotes it (as he had done to Jericho and to her king so he has done to Ai and to her king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon have made peace with Israel, and are in their midst—
Yerusalemhene Adoni-Sedek tee sɛ Yosua afa Ai na wasɛe no pasaa, akum ɛhɔ ɔhene, sɛdeɛ wasɛe Yeriko kuropɔn akum ɛhɔ ɔhene no. Ɔtee nso sɛ Gibeonfoɔ ne Israelfoɔ ayɛ asomdwoeɛ apam, na wɔayɛ baako.
2 that they are greatly afraid, because Gibeon [is] a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it [is] greater than Ai, and all its men [are] heroes.
Ɛno enti, ɔne ne nkurɔfoɔ bo tuu yie, ɛfiri sɛ, Gibeon yɛ kuropɔn kɛseɛ te sɛ ahemman no nkuropɔn no bi a ɛso sene Ai. Na Gibeon mmarima no nyinaa nso yɛ akofoɔ a wɔyɛ dene.
3 And Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sends to Hoham king of Hebron, and to Piram king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,
Enti, Yerusalemhene Adoni-Sedek soma ma wɔkɔɔ ahemfo afoforɔ bebree nkyɛn: Hebronhene Hoham ne Yarmuthene Piram ne Lakishene Yafia ne Eglonhene Debir kɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
4 “Come up to me, and help me, and we strike Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.”
“Mommra mmɛboa me na yɛnsɛe Gibeon, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔne Yosua ne Israelfoɔ ayɛ asomdwoeɛ apam.”
5 And five kings of the Amorite (the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon) are gathered together, and go up, they and all their camps, and encamp against Gibeon, and fight against it.
Enti, Amorifoɔ ahemfo baanum no de wɔn akodɔm bɔɔ mu maa ɔko. Wɔde wɔn akodɔm no gyinagyinaeɛ, na afei wɔto hyɛɛ Gibeon so.
6 And the men of Gibeon send to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Do not let your hand cease from your servants; come up to us [with] haste, and give safety to us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorite, dwelling in the hill-country, have been assembled against us.”
Na Gibeonfoɔ no soma kɔɔ Yosua nkyɛn wɔ Gilgal. Wɔkɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Nnyaa wʼasomfoɔ. Bra yɛn nkyɛn ntɛm bɛgye yɛn nkwa! Bɛboa yɛn, ɛfiri sɛ, Amorifoɔ ahemfo a wɔte mmepɔ so de wɔn akodɔm rebɛko atia yɛn.”
7 And Joshua goes up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valor.
Enti, Yosua ne Israel akodɔm nyinaa firii Gilgal sɛ wɔrekoboa Gibeonfoɔ.
8 And YHWH says to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have given them into your hand, there does not stand a man of them in your presence.”
Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Yosua sɛ, “Nnsuro wɔn; mɛma woadi wɔn so nkonim. Wɔn mu biara rentumi ne wo nnyina.”
9 And Joshua comes to them suddenly (all the night he has gone up from Gilgal),
Yosua nantee anadwo mu no nyinaa firii Gilgal kɔfuu Amorifoɔ akodɔm no mu.
10 and YHWH crushes them before Israel, and strikes them [with] a great striking at Gibeon, and pursues them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and strikes them to Azekah, and to Makkedah.
Awurade ma wɔbɔɔ hu wɔ Israelfoɔ no anim, na wɔkunkumm wɔn mu bebree wɔ Gibeon. Israelfoɔ no taa atamfoɔ no faa ɛkwan a ɛkɔ Bet-Horon no, na wɔto hyɛɛ wɔn so kunkumm wɔn wɔ Aseka ne Makeda.
11 And it comes to pass, in their fleeing from the face of Israel—they [are] in the descent of Beth-Horon—and YHWH has cast great stones on them out of the heavens, to Azekah, and they die; more are they who have died by the hailstones than they whom the sons of Israel have slain by the sword.
Ɛberɛ a Amorifoɔ redwane wɔ ɛkwan a ɛkɔ Bet-Horon so no, Awurade himm aboɔ akɛseɛ guu wɔn so kɔsii sɛ wɔduruu Aseka. Aboɔ no kunkumm wɔn mu bebree sene dodoɔ a Israelfoɔ de akofena kunkumm wɔn no.
12 Then Joshua speaks to YHWH in the day of YHWH’s giving up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he says before the eyes of Israel, “Sun—stand still in Gibeon; and moon—in the Valley of Ajalon”;
Ɛda a Awurade de Amorifoɔ no hyɛɛ Israelfoɔ no nsa no, Yosua bɔɔ Awurade mpaeɛ wɔ Israelfoɔ no anim sɛ, “Ma owia nnyina dinn wɔ Gibeon so na ɔsrane nso ntae wɔ Ayalon bɔnhwa mu.”
13 and the sun stands still, and the moon has stood—until the nation takes vengeance [on] its enemies; is it not written on the Scroll of the Upright, “and the sun stands in the midst of the heavens, and has not hurried to go in—as a perfect day?”
14 And there has not been like that day before it or after it, for YHWH’s listening to the voice of a man; for YHWH is fighting for Israel.
Awurade ko maa Israel ɛda no. Ebi nsii saa da na ebi rensi da sɛ saa da no a Awurade tiee abisadeɛ sei firii onipa nkyɛn.
15 And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
Na Yosua ne Israel akodɔm no sane kɔɔ Gilgal atenaeɛ hɔ.
16 And these five kings flee, and are hidden in a cave at Makkedah,
Ɔko no mu, ahemfo baanum no dwane kɔhyɛɛ Makeda ɔbodan mu.
17 and it is declared to Joshua, saying, “The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.”
Yosua tee sɛ wɔahunu wɔn no,
18 And Joshua says, “Roll great stones to the mouth of the cave, and appoint men over it to watch them;
ɔhyɛɛ sɛ, “Momfa abotan akɛseɛ nsi ɔbodan no ano kwan, na momma awɛmfoɔ no nnwɛn ano na ahemfo no nhyɛ mu.
19 and you, do not stand, pursue after your enemies, and you have struck them from the rear; do not permit them to go into their cities, for your God YHWH has given them into your hand.”
Mo a moaka no nso, montaa atamfoɔ no na monkunkum wɔn mfiri akyire. Mommma wɔnnkɔ wɔn nkuro so, ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn bɛma mo adi wɔn so nkonim.”
20 And it comes to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel finish to strike them [with] a very great striking until they are consumed, and the remnant who have remained of them go into the fortified cities,
Enti, Yosua ne Israel akodɔm toaa so kunkumm wɔn, tɔree akodɔm enum no ase ma ɛkaa ɛdɔm no kakra bi a wɔtumi dwane kɔɔ wɔn nkuropɔn a wɔabɔ ho ban no mu.

Afei, Israelfoɔ no sane baa Yosua nkyɛn asomdwoeɛ mu wɔ Makeda. Ɛno akyi, obiara suroo sɛ ɔbɛkasa atia Israel.
22 And Joshua says, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out to me these five kings from the cave”;
Afei, Yosua kaa sɛ, “Monyiyi abotan a ɛkata ɔbodan no ano no na momfa ahemfo baanum no mmrɛ me.”
23 and they do so, and bring out to him these five kings from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
Enti, wɔkɔyii ahemfo baanum no firi ɔbodan no mu baeɛ: Yerusalemhene, Hebronhene, Yarmuthene, Lakishene ne Eglonhene.
24 And it comes to pass, when they bring out these kings to Joshua, that Joshua calls to every man of Israel, and says to the captains of the men of war, who have gone with him, “Draw near, set your feet on the necks of these kings”; and they draw near, and set their feet on their necks.
Yosua ka kyerɛɛ nʼakodɔm asahene no sɛ, “Mommra mmɛtiatia ahemfo no kɔn so.” Na wɔyɛɛ sɛdeɛ wɔkyerɛɛ wɔn no.
25 And Joshua says to them, “Do not fear, nor be frightened; be strong and courageous; for thus does YHWH do to all your enemies with whom you are fighting”;
26 and Joshua strikes them afterward, and puts them to death, and hangs them on five trees; and they are hanging on the trees until the evening.
Yosua kunkumm ahemfo baanum no mmaako mmaako de wɔn sensɛn nnua enum so kɔsii anwummerɛ.
27 And it comes to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, Joshua has commanded, and they take them down from off the trees, and cast them into the cave where they had been hid, and put great stones on the mouth of the cave until this very day.
Owia rekɔtɔ no, Yosua hyɛɛ sɛ wɔnyiyi ahemfo no amu no mfiri nnua no so na wɔnkɔto wɔn ngu ɔbodan a wɔkɔtetɛɛ mu no mu. Afei, wɔde abotan akɛseɛ mmoano sii ɔbodan no ano a ɛda so wɔ hɔ bɛsi ɛnnɛ.
28 And Joshua has captured Makkedah on that day, and he strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and he has devoted its king, them and every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; and he does to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.
Ɛda no ara, Yosua sɛee Makeda kuropɔn no pasaa, kumm obiara a ɔwɔ mu ne ɛhɔ ɔhene no. Onipa baako koraa anka wɔ kuropɔn no mu. Ɔkumm Makedahene te sɛ deɛ ɔkumm Yerikohene no.
29 And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah [to] Libnah, and fights with Libnah;

30 and YHWH also gives it into the hand of Israel, and its king, and [Joshua] strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it—he does not leave a remnant in it; and he does to its king as he did to the king of Jericho.
Ɛhɔ nso, Awurade de kuropɔn no ne ɛhɔ ɔhene no maa wɔn. Wɔkunkumm obiara a ɔwɔ kuropɔn no mu a anka ɔteasefoɔ fua po. Na Yosua kumm Libnahene sɛdeɛ ɔkumm Yerikohene no.

32 And YHWH gives Lachish into the hand of Israel, and [Joshua] captures it on the second day, and strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it, according to all that he did to Libnah.
Na ne nnanu so no, Awurade de Lakis maa Israelfoɔ. Ɛhɔ nso, wɔkunkumm kuropɔn no mu nnipa nyinaa sɛdeɛ wɔyɛɛ Libna no.
33 Then Horam king of Gezer has come up to help Lachish, and Joshua strikes him and his people, until he has not left a remnant to him.

39 and captures it, and its king, and all its cities, and they strike them by the mouth of the sword, and devote every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; as he did to Hebron so he did to Debir, and to its king, and as he did to Libnah, and to its king.
Wɔfaa kuropɔn no, wɔn ɔhene ne nkuraa a atwa ho ahyia no nyinaa nnommum. Na wɔkumm obiara a ɔwɔ mu a anka ɔbaako mpo. Wɔsɛee Debir pasaa sɛdeɛ wɔsɛee Libna ne Hebron no.
40 And Joshua strikes all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings—he has not left a remnant, and he has devoted all that breathe, as YHWH, God of Israel, commanded.
Na Yosua dii ɔmantam no nyinaa so. Ɔdii ahemfo no, nnipa a wɔte mmepɔ ɔman no so, Negeb, atɔeɛ fam nkokoɔ ne wɔn a wɔte mmepɔ nsianeɛ so no nyinaa so. Ɔsɛee wɔn nyinaa pasaa a anka ɔteasefoɔ fua mpo sɛdeɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, hyɛɛ no.
