Jonah 4
1 And it is grievous to Jonah—a great evil—and he is displeased at it;
Лукрул ачеста н-а плэкут делок луй Иона ши с-а мыният.
2 and he prays to YHWH, and he says, “Ah, now, O YHWH, is this not my word while I was in my own land—therefore I was beforehand [going] to flee to Tarshish—that I have known that You [are] a God, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, and relenting of evil?
С-а ругат Домнулуй ши а зис: „Ах! Доамне, ну есте ачаста токмай че зичям еу кынд ерам ынкэ ын цара мя? Токмай лукрул ачеста воям сэ-л ынлэтур фуӂинд ла Тарс. Кэч штиям кэ ешть ун Думнезеу милос ши плин де ындураре, ынделунг рэбдэтор ши богат ын бунэтате ши кэ Те кэешть де рэу!
3 And now, O YHWH, please take my soul from me, for better [is] my death than my life.”
Акум, Доамне, я-мь вяца, кэч вряу май бине сэ мор декыт сэ трэеск!”
4 And YHWH says, “Is doing good displeasing to you?”
Домнул а рэспунс: „Бине фачь ту де те мыний?”
5 And Jonah goes forth from the city, and sits on the east of the city, and makes a shelter for himself there, and sits under it in the shade, until he sees what is in the city.
Ши Иона а ешит дин четате ши с-а ашезат ла рэсэрит де четате. Аколо шь-а фэкут ун умбрар ши а стат суб ел пынэ ва ведя че аре сэ се ынтымпле ку четатя.
6 And YHWH God appoints a gourd, and causes it to come up over Jonah, to be a shade over his head, to give deliverance to him from his affliction, and Jonah rejoices because of the gourd [with] great joy.
Домнул Думнезеу а фэкут сэ кряскэ ун куркубете, каре с-а ридикат песте Иона, ка сэ факэ умбрэ капулуй луй ши сэ-л факэ сэ-й трякэ мыния. Иона с-а букурат фоарте мулт де куркубетеле ачеста.
7 And God appoints a worm at the going up of the dawn on the next day, and it strikes the gourd, and it dries up.
Дар а доуа зи, ла рэсэритул соарелуй, Думнезеу а адус ун верме, каре а ынцепат куркубетеле, ши куркубетеле с-а ускат.
8 And it comes to pass, about the rising of the sun, that God appoints a cutting east wind, and the sun strikes on the head of Jonah, and he wraps himself up, and asks for his soul to die, and says, “Better [is] my death than my life.”
Кынд а рэсэрит соареле, Думнезеу а фэкут сэ суфле ун вынт ускат де ла рэсэрит ши соареле а бэтут песте капул луй Иона, ши Иона а лешинат. Атунч а дорит сэ моарэ ши а зис: „Май бине сэ мор декыт сэ трэеск!”
9 And God says to Jonah: “Is doing good displeasing to you, because of the gourd?” And he says, “To do good is displeasing to me—to death.”
Дар Думнезеу а зис луй Иона: „Бине фачь ту де те мыний дин причина куркубетелуй?” Ел а рэспунс: „Да, бине фак кэ мэ мыний пынэ ла моарте!”
10 And YHWH says, “You have had pity on the gourd, for which you did not labor, neither did you nourish it, which came up [as] a son of night, and perished [as] a son of night,
Атунч ши Домнул а зис: „Цие ыць есте милэ де куркубетеле ачеста, каре ну те-а костат ничо трудэ ши пе каре ну ту л-ай фэкут сэ кряскэ, чи ынтр-о ноапте с-а нэскут ши ынтр-о ноапте а перит.
11 and I—do I not have pity on Nineveh, the great city, in which there are more than one hundred twenty thousand of mankind, who have not known between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?”
Ши Мие сэ ну-Мь фие милэ де Ниниве, четатя чя маре, ын каре се афлэ май мулт де о сутэ доуэзечь де мий де оамень, каре ну штиу сэ деосебяскэ дряпта де стынга лор, афарэ де о мулциме де вите!”
