Jonah 2
1 And Jonah prays to his God YHWH from the bowels of the fish.
੧ਤਦ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, -
2 And he says: “I called, because of my distress, to YHWH, And He answers me, From the belly of Sheol I have cried, You have heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
੨“ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਔਖੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ।” (Sheol h7585)
3 When You cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood surrounds me, All Your breakers and Your billows have passed over me.
੩“ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘਿਆਈ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਤਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੰਗਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਗਈਆਂ।”
4 And I said: I have been cast out from before Your eyes (Yet I add to look to Your holy temple!)
੪ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਫੇਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਭਵਨ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕਾਂਗਾ।
5 Waters have surrounded me to the soul, The deep surrounds me, The weed is bound to my head.
੫“ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਨ ਤੱਕ ਘੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ, ਡੁੰਘਿਆਈ ਨੇ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰਿਓਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਸਾਗਰੀ ਜਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਪੇਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ!
6 To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me for all time. And You bring my life up from the pit, O YHWH my God.
੬“ਮੈਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਿਆ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਲਿਆ, ਪਰ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਭੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਲਿਆਇਆ।
7 In the feebleness of my soul within me, I have remembered YHWH, And my prayer comes to You, Into Your holy temple.
੭“ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ।
8 Those observing lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
੮“ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਦਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ।
9 And I—with a voice of thanksgiving—I sacrifice to You, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of YHWH.”
੯“ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਸੁੱਖੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਬਚਾਉ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”
10 And YHWH speaks to the fish, and it vomits Jonah out on the dry land.
੧੦ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਗਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
