< John 1 >
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
Kuvutengulilo kwe alyale ulisio, ulisio ujuo alyale palikimo nu Nguluve, kange ulisio alyale ghuse, Nguluve.
2 this One was in the beginning with God;
Kuhuma kuvute ngulilo, ulisio ujuo alyale palikimo nu Nguluve.
3 all things happened through Him, and without Him not even one thing happened that has happened.
UNgulve alyapelile ifiinu fyoni kukilila umwene. Nakwekili nambe kimo kino alyapelile kisila kukilila kwa mwene ujuo.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men,
Mwa mwene mwevulyale uvusumi, uvusumi uvuo vukava lumuli ku vaanhu vooni.
5 and the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it.
Ulumuli uluo lumulika mu nghiisi, ingiisi jikunilue kukululema.
6 There came a man—having been sent from God—whose name [is] John,
UNguluve alyansung'hile umuunhu jumonga juno akatambukagha Yohani.
7 this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
UYohani ujuo, alisile kukwoleka imhola isa lumuli uluo, kuuti avaanhu vooni vitike kukilila umwene.
8 that one was not the Light, but—that he might testify about the Light.
UYohani ujuo naalyale ghwe lumuli uluo, looli alisile kukwoleka ulumuli.
9 He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world;
Ulumuli uluo ulwa kyang'haani, luno lukava lukwisa muiisi, uluo lukavamulikila avaanhu vooni. Ulumuli uluo.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him:
Ulisio mwe alyale mu iisi, naji iisi jooni jilyapelilue kukilila umwene, neke avaanhu navalyankagwile.
11 He came to [His] own, and [His] own did not receive Him;
Alisile kuvaanhu vaake, aveene navalyamwupiile. Neke avaanhu vooni vano valyamwupiile na kukumwitika, akavaviika kuuva vaana va Nguluve.
12 but as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become sons of God—to those believing in His Name,
Neke avaanhu vooni vano valya valyamwupiile na kukumwitika, akavaviika kuuva vaana va Nguluve.
13 who were begotten, not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.
Nakwekuti vaana va Nguluve vwimila ifisina fyave, nambemulwa kuholua nu mughosi nu ndala, nambe muvughane vwa muunhu, looli UNguluve jujuo ghwe juno avavikile kuuva vanaake.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of [the] only begotten of [the] Father, full of grace and truth.
Ulisio ujuo akava muunhu, akikala palikimo nusue, najusue tukuvuvona uvuvaha vwake, uvuvaha vuno vuhufia kuuti ghwe mwana jumo mwene ghwa Nguluve uNhaata. Umwene ali nu lusungu fiijo nu vwakyang'haani vwoni.
15 John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who is coming after me has come before me, for He was before me.”
UYohani akavoleka avaanhu imhola isa muunhu ujuo, akajova fiijo akati, “Uju ghwe juno najovagha kuuti, 'Juno ikwisa kumbele kulyune, m'baha kukila une, ulwakuva kwealyale une ye nikyale kuholua.”
16 And we all received out of His fullness, and grace for grace;
Usue tweni muvukwilanifu vwake, twupiile ulusungu lwake, kange ifikutusungukilagha jaatu.
17 for the Law was given through Moses, the grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ.
Ulwakuva indaghilo saake alyatupeliile kukilila uMose, ulusungu nu vwakyang'haani atupeliile kukilila uYesu kilisite.
18 No one has ever seen God; the only begotten God who is on the bosom of the Father—He has expounded [Him].
Nakwale umuunhu juno aghelile kukumwagha uNguluve, ali palikimo nu Nguluve uNhaata. Ujuo ghwe mwene atuhufisie uNguluve.
19 And this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites out of Jerusalem, that they might question him, “Who are you?”
Avalongosi va Vayahudi valyavasung'hile avatekesi na Valeevi kukumposia uYohani kuuti ghwe veeni.
20 And he confessed and did not deny, and confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
Umwene akavoleka kisila kufisa, akati, “Une naneene Kiliste.”
21 And they questioned him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he says, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
Vakamposi kange vakati, “Lino uve veeni? Asi, veeve m'bili Eliya? UYohani akavamula akati, “Ndali, na neene Eliya.” Vakamposia kange vakati, Veeve m'bili?” Akavamula akati, “Ndali na neene.”
22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say concerning yourself?”
Vakamposi kange vakati, “Lino uve veeve veeve veeve? Ghukutambula veeve veeni? Tulonda tugomosie ulwamulo ku vano vatusung'hile?”
23 He said, “I [am] a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the LORD, as Isaiah the prophet said.”
UYohani akavamula akati, Une neene lisio lya muunhu juno ikemeela ku'lukuve iiti, munnosekesyaghe uMutwa isila.” Ndavule alyajovile um'bili uYesaya.”
24 And those sent were of the Pharisees,

25 and they questioned him and said to him, “Why, then, do you immerse, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”
“Nave naveeve Kilisite, nambe naveeve Eliya nambe na uli m'bili, ongo ghukwofugha?”
26 John answered them, saying, “I immerse in water, but in the midst of you has stood He whom you have not known, it is this One who is coming after me, who has been before me,
UYohani akavamula akati, “Une nikwofungha na malenga, neke nkate mulyumue pwale juno umue namunkagwile.
27 of whom I am not worthy that I may loose the strap of His sandal.”
Ujuo ghwe juno ikwisa kumbele kulyune. Une naninoghiile nambe kuhudula utukova utwa filatu tyake.
28 These things came to pass in Bethabara, beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing.

29 On the next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who is taking away the sin of the world;
Ikigho ikivingilili, uYohani akamwagha uYesu ikwisa kwa mwene. Pe akavavuula avaaanhu akati, “Lolagha, uju ghwe kakolo ghwa nguluvve, ghwe mwene ivusia uvuhosi vwa vaanhu vooni.
30 this is He concerning whom I said, After me comes a Man who has come before me, because He was before me:
Uju ghwe juno navagha kuuti, “Juno ikwisa kumbele kulyune, m'baha kukila une, ulwakuva kwe alyale une ye nikyale kuholua.'
31 and I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Israel, because of this I came immersing in water.”
Najune nanikaakagwile kuuti ghwe kakolo, looli une nilisile kukwofungha avaanu na malenga, kuuti aVaisilaeli vankagule.”
32 And John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down out of Heaven as a dove, and [that] One remained on Him;
Kange uYohani akavavula akati, “Nimwaghile uMhepo uMwimike ikwika kuhuma kukyanya hwene ng'unda na kukwima pa mwene.
33 and I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, On whomsoever you may see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on Him, this is He who is immersing in the Holy Spirit;
Une nanivele nikagwile, neke UNguluve juno asung'hile kukwofugha avaanhu na malenga ambulile kuuti, 'Umuunhu juno kyaukumwagha uMhepo ikwika na kukwima pa mwene ujuo ghwe juno ikwofughagha nu Mhepo uMwimike.”
34 and I have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.”
UYohani akafijovagha akatisagha, “Une nisivwene isio na maaso ghango, kange nijova isa kyang'haani, kuuti uju ghwe mwana ghwa Nguluve.”
35 On the next day, again, John was standing, and two of his disciples,

38 And Jesus having turned, and having beheld them following, says to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is, being interpreted, Teacher), “where do You remain?”
Pe uYesu akasyetuka, akavona vikum'bingilila, akavaposia akati, mulonda kiki? “Aveene vakamwamula vakati, “Rabi, (kwe kuti m'bulanisi) ghukukala kuughi?
39 He says to them, “Come and see”; they came and saw where He remains, and they remained with Him that day and the hour was about the tenth.

Undeleya akamwagha unkulu ghwake uSimoni, akam'buula akati, “Tumwaghile uMesiya” (Mesiya kwe kuti Kiliste).
42 and he brought him to Jesus: and having looked on him, Jesus says, “You are Simon, the son of Jonas, you will be called Cephas,” (which is interpreted, A rock).
Pe akantwala uSimoni kwa Yesu. UYesu akamulola uSimoni, akam'buula akati, Uve veeve Simoni mwana ghwa Yohani, lino ghutambulwaga Keefa,” (Kwe kuti' Peteli).
43 On the next day He willed to go forth to Galilee, and He finds Philip and says to him, “Follow Me.”
Ikighono ikivingilili, uYesu ye ilonda pivuuka kuluta ku kighavo ikya Galilaya, akamwagha uFilipo, akambuula akati “Umbingililaghe.”
