John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und das Wort war Gott;
2 this One was in the beginning with God;
Dieses war im Anfang bei Gott.
3 all things happened through Him, and without Him not even one thing happened that has happened.
Alles ist durch es geworden, und ohne es ist auch nicht eines geworden, was geworden ist.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men,
In ihm war Leben, und das Leben war das Licht der Menschen.
5 and the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it.
Und das Licht scheint in der Finsternis, und die Finsternis hat es nicht erfaßt.
6 There came a man—having been sent from God—whose name [is] John,
Es war ein Mensch, von Gott gesandt, sein Name war Johannes.
7 this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
Derselbe kam zum Zeugnis, damit er zeugte von dem Licht, damit alle durch ihn glauben sollten.
8 that one was not the Light, but—that he might testify about the Light.
Derselbige war nicht das Licht, sondern damit er zeugte von dem Licht.
9 He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world;
Das wahrhaftige Licht, welches jeden Menschen erleuchtet, war in die Welt kommend.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him:
Es war in der Welt, und die Welt ist durch es geworden, und die Welt erkannte ihn nicht.
11 He came to [His] own, and [His] own did not receive Him;
Er kam in das Seine, und die Seinigen nahmen ihn nicht auf;
12 but as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become sons of God—to those believing in His Name,
Wieviele ihn aber annahmen, denen gab er Macht, Kinder Gottes zu werden, den an seinen Namen Gläubigen,
13 who were begotten, not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.
Welche nicht aus dem Geblüt, noch aus dem Willen des Fleisches, noch aus dem Willen eines Mannes, sondern aus Gott gezeugt sind.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of [the] only begotten of [the] Father, full of grace and truth.
Und das Wort ward Fleisch, und wohnte unter uns, und wir sahen seine Herrlichkeit, eine Herrlichkeit, wie des Eingeborenen vom Vater, voller Gnade und Wahrheit. -
15 John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who is coming after me has come before me, for He was before me.”
Johannes zeugt von ihm; rief und sprach: Dieser war es, von dem ich sprach: Der nach mir kommt, der ist vor mir geworden, denn er war erster vor mir.
16 And we all received out of His fullness, and grace for grace;
Und aus seiner Fülle haben wir alle genommen Gnade um Gnade.
17 for the Law was given through Moses, the grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ.
Denn das Gesetz ist durch Moses gegeben, die Gnade und die Wahrheit ist durch Jesus, den Messias, geworden.
18 No one has ever seen God; the only begotten God who is on the bosom of the Father—He has expounded [Him].
Niemand hat Gott jemals gesehen; der eingeborene Sohn, der in des Vaters Busen ist, der hat es uns verkündigt.
19 And this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites out of Jerusalem, that they might question him, “Who are you?”
Und dies ist das Zeugnis des Johannes, als die Juden aus Jerusalem Priester und Leviten sandten, daß sie ihn fragen sollten: Wer bist du?
20 And he confessed and did not deny, and confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
Und er bekannte, und leugnete nicht, und bekannte: Ich bin nicht der Messias!
21 And they questioned him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he says, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
Und sie frugen ihn: Was denn? Bist du Elias? Und er sagt: Ich bin es nicht. Bist du der Prophet? und er antwortete: Nein.
22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say concerning yourself?”
Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Wer bist du? damit wir eine Antwort geben denen, die uns gesandt haben? Was sagst du von dir selbst?
23 He said, “I [am] a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the LORD, as Isaiah the prophet said.”
Er sprach: Ich bin "die Stimme eines Rufenden in der Wüste: Ebnet den Weg des Herrn", wie Jesaias, der Prophet, gesagt hat.
24 And those sent were of the Pharisees,
Und die Gesandten waren von den Pharisäern.
25 and they questioned him and said to him, “Why, then, do you immerse, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”
Und sie frugen ihn, und sagten ihm: Warum taufst du denn, wenn du nicht de Messias, noch Elias, noch der Prophet bist?
26 John answered them, saying, “I immerse in water, but in the midst of you has stood He whom you have not known, it is this One who is coming after me, who has been before me,
Johannes antwortete ihnen, und sprach: Ich taufe in Wasser; aber mitten unter euch steht, welchen ihr nicht kennt,
27 of whom I am not worthy that I may loose the strap of His sandal.”
Der nach mir kommt, dessen ich nicht würdig bin, daß ich seine Schuhriemen auflöse.
28 These things came to pass in Bethabara, beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing.
Dies geschah in Bethanien jenseits des Jordan, wo Johannes taufte.
29 On the next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who is taking away the sin of the world;
Am Tage nachher sieht er Jesus zu sich kommen, und sagt: Siehe, Gottes Lamm, das die Sünden der Welt wegnimmt.
30 this is He concerning whom I said, After me comes a Man who has come before me, because He was before me:
Dieser ist es, von dem ich gesagt habe: Nach mir kommt ein Mann, der vor mir geworden ist, denn er war erster vor mir.
31 and I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Israel, because of this I came immersing in water.”
Und ich kannte ihn nicht, sondern damit er Israel offenbar würde, darum bin ich gekommen, in Wasser zu taufen.
32 And John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down out of Heaven as a dove, and [that] One remained on Him;
Und Johannes zeugte, und sprach: Ich habe den Geist gesehen herabsteigen, wie eine Taube, aus dem Himmel, und er blieb auf ihm.
33 and I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, On whomsoever you may see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on Him, this is He who is immersing in the Holy Spirit;
Und ich kannte ihn nicht; sondern der mich gesandt hat, im Wasser zu taufen, derselbige sagte zu mir: Auf welchen du siehst den Geist herabsteigen, und auf ihm bleiben, dieser ist der in heiligen Geiste tauft.
34 and I have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.”
Und ich habe gesehen, und habe bezeugt, daß dieser ist der Sohn Gottes (d. h. der Messias)
35 On the next day, again, John was standing, and two of his disciples,
Am Tage nachher stund Johannes abermal, und zwei von seinen Jüngern,
36 and having looked on Jesus walking, he says, “Behold, the Lamb of God”;
Und er blickte Jesus an, der umherwandelte, und sagt: Siehe, das Lamm Gottes.
37 and the two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
Und es hörten ihn seine zwei Jünger reden, und folgten Jesus nach.
38 And Jesus having turned, and having beheld them following, says to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is, being interpreted, Teacher), “where do You remain?”
Als aber Jesus sich umwandte, und sie nachfolgen sah, sagt er ihnen: Was suchet ihr? Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Rabbi, das heißt übersetzt Lehrer, wo wohnst du?
39 He says to them, “Come and see”; they came and saw where He remains, and they remained with Him that day and the hour was about the tenth.
Er sagte ihnen: Kommet und sehet! Sie kamen, und sahen, wo er wohnte, und bleiben jenen Tag bei ihm. Es war etwa die zehnte Stunde.
40 Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard from John, and followed Him;
Einer von den Zweien, die von Johannes gehört hatten, und ihm nachfolgten, war Andreas, der Bruder von Simon Petrus.
41 this one first finds his own brother Simon and says to him, “We have found the Messiah,” (which is, being interpreted, Anointed One),
Dieser findet zuerst seinen eigenen Bruder Simon, und sagt ihm: Wir haben den Messias gefunden: Das heißt übersetzt (Christus) der Gesalbte.
42 and he brought him to Jesus: and having looked on him, Jesus says, “You are Simon, the son of Jonas, you will be called Cephas,” (which is interpreted, A rock).
Und er führte ihn zu Jesus. Als Jesus ihn ansah, sprach er: Du bist Simon, der Sohn Jonas; du wirst Kephas heißen, das ist übersetzt Petrus (Felsenmann).
43 On the next day He willed to go forth to Galilee, and He finds Philip and says to him, “Follow Me.”
Am Tage nachher wollte er weggehen nach Galiläa, und findet Philippus, und Jesus sagt ihm: Folge mir nach!
44 And Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter;
Philippus war von Bethsaida, aus der Stadt des Andreas und Petrus.
45 Philip finds Nathanael and says to him, “Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the Prophets, we have found, Jesus the Son of Joseph, who [is] from Nazareth!”
Philippus findet Nathanael, und sagt ihm: Wir haben den gefunden, von welchem Moses im Gesetz geschrieben hat, und die Propheten, Jesus den Sohn Josephs von Nazareth.
46 And Nathanael said to him, “Is any good thing able to be out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Und Nathanael sprach zu ihm: Kann aus Nazareth etwas Gutes kommen? Philippus sagt ihm; Komm und siehe!
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He says concerning him, “Behold, truly an Israelite, in whom is no guile”;
Jesus sah Nathanael zu sich kommen, und sagt von ihm: Siehe, wahrhaftig ein Israelite, in welchem kein Falsch ist.
48 Nathanael says to Him, “From where do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip’s calling you, being under the fig tree, I saw you.”
Sagt ihm Nathanael: Woher kennst du mich? Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Ehe dich Philippus rief, als du unter dem Feigenbaum warst, sah ich dich.
49 Nathanael answered and says to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel.”
Nathanael antwortete, und sagt ihm: "Rabbi, du bist der Sohn Gottes, du bist der König Israels.
50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, you believe; you will see greater things than these”;
Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Weil ich dir gesagt habe, daß ich dich unter dem Feigenbaum sah, glaubst du? Du wirst Größeres, als das, sehen.
51 and He says to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, from now on you will see Heaven opened, and the messengers of God going up and coming down on the Son of Man.”
Und er sagt ihm: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet von nun an den Himmel geöffnet sehen, und die Engel Gottes hinauf und herabsteigen auf den Menschensohn.
