John 8
1 And at dawn He came again to the temple [courts],
Porém Jesus foi para o monte das Oliveiras;
2 and all the people were coming to Him, and having sat down, He was teaching them;
E pela manhã cedo tornou para o templo, e todo o povo vinha ter com ele, e, assentando-se, os ensinava.
3 and the scribes and the Pharisees bring to Him a woman having been taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst,
E os escribas e fariseus trouxeram-lhe uma mulher apanhada em adultério;
4 they say to Him, “Teacher, this woman was taken in the very crime [of] committing adultery,
E, pondo-a no meio, disseram-lhe: Mestre, esta mulher foi apanhada, no próprio ato, adulterando,
5 and in the Law, Moses commanded us that such be stoned; You, therefore, what do You say?”
E na lei nos mandou Moisés que as tais sejam apedrejadas. Tu pois que dizes?
6 And this they said, trying Him, that they might have to accuse Him. And Jesus, having stooped down, with the finger He was writing on the ground,
Isto diziam eles, tentando-o, para que tivessem de que o acusar. Mas Jesus, inclinando-se, escrevia com o dedo na terra.
7 and when they continued asking Him, having bent Himself back, He said to them, “The sinless of you—let him cast the first stone at her”;
E, como perseverassem perguntando-lhe, endireitou-se, e disse-lhes: aquele que dentre vós está sem pecado seja o primeiro que atire pedra contra ela.
8 and again having stooped down, He was writing on the ground,
E, tornando a inclinar-se, escreveu na terra.
9 and they having heard, and being convicted by the conscience, were going forth one by one, having begun from the elders—to the last; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Porém, ouvindo eles isto, e acusados pela consciência, sairam um a um, começando pelos mais velhos até aos últimos; ficou só Jesus e a mulher, que estava no meio.
10 And Jesus having bent Himself back, and having seen no one but the woman, said to her, “Woman, where are those—your accusers? Did no one pass sentence on you?”
E, endireitando-se Jesus, e não vendo ninguém mais do que a mulher, disse-lhe: Mulher, onde estão aqueles teus acusadores? ninguém te condenou?
11 And she said, “No one, Lord”; and Jesus said to her, “Neither do I pass sentence on you; be going on, and sin no more.”]]
E ela disse: ninguém, Senhor. E disse-lhe Jesus: Nem eu também te condeno: vai-te, e não peques mais.
12 Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I AM the light of the world; he who is following Me will not walk in the darkness, but he will have the light of life.”
Falou-lhes pois Jesus outra vez, dizendo: Eu sou a luz do mundo; quem me segue não andará em trevas, mas terá a luz da vida.
13 The Pharisees, therefore, said to Him, “You testify of Yourself, Your testimony is not true”;
Disseram-lhe pois os fariseus: Tu testificas de ti mesmo: o teu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, “And if I testify of Myself—My testimony is true, because I have known from where I came, and to where I go, and you have not known from where I come, or to where I go.
Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhes: Ainda que eu testifico de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho é verdadeiro, porque sei de onde vim, e para onde vou; porém vós não sabeis de onde venho, nem para onde vou
15 You judge according to the flesh; I do not judge anyone,
Vós julgais segundo a carne, eu a ninguém julgo.
16 and even if I do judge My judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent Me;
E, se eu também julgo, o meu juízo é verdadeiro, porque não sou eu só, mas eu e o Pai que me enviou.
17 and also in your law it has been written that the testimony of two men is true;
E também na vossa lei está escrito que o testemunho de dois homens é verdadeiro.
18 I am [One] who is testifying of Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies of Me.”
Eu sou o que testifico de mim mesmo, e de num testifica também o Pai que me enviou.
19 They said, therefore, to Him, “Where is Your father?” Jesus answered, “You have neither known Me nor My Father: if you had known Me, you had also known My Father.”
Disseram-lhe pois: Onde está teu pai? Jesus respondeu: Nem me conheceis a mim, nem a meu Pai: se vós me conhecesseis a mim, também conhecerieis a meu Pai.
20 Jesus spoke these sayings in the treasury, teaching in the temple, and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come;
Estas palavras disse Jesus no lugar do tesouro, ensinando no templo, e ninguém o prendeu, porque ainda não era chegada a sua hora.
21 therefore Jesus said again to them, “I go away, and you will seek Me, and you will die in your sin; to where I go away, you are not able to come.”
Disse-lhes pois Jesus outra vez: Eu retiro-me, e buscar-me-eis, e morrereis no vosso pecado. Para onde eu vou não podeis vós vir.
22 The Jews, therefore, said, “Will He kill Himself, because He says, To where I go away, you are not able to come?”
Diziam pois os judeus: Porventura há de matar-se a si mesmo, pois diz: Para onde eu vou não podeis vós vir?
23 And He said to them, “You are from beneath, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world;
E dizia-lhes: Vós sois debaixo, eu sou de cima; vós sois deste mundo, eu não sou deste mundo.
24 I said, therefore, to you, that you will die in your sins, for if you may not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.”
Por isso vos disse que morrereis em vossos pecados, porque, se não crerdes o que eu sou, morrereis em vossos pecados.
25 They said, therefore, to Him, “You—who are You?” And Jesus said to them, “Even what I spoke of to you at the beginning;
Disseram-lhe pois: Quem és tu? Jesus lhes disse: O mesmo que também já desde o princípio vos disse.
26 many things I have to speak concerning you and to judge, but He who sent Me is true, and I—what things I heard from Him—these I say to the world.”
Muitas coisas tenho que dizer e julgar de vós, mas aquele que me enviou é verdadeiro, e eu o que dele tenho ouvido isso falo ao mundo.
27 They did not know that He spoke to them of the Father;
Mas não entenderam que ele lhes falava do Pai.
28 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “When you may lift up the Son of Man then you will know that I AM; and I do nothing of Myself, but according as My Father taught Me, these things I speak;
Disse-lhes pois Jesus: Quando levantardes o Filho do homem, então conhecereis quem eu sou, e que nada faço por mim mesmo; mas falo assim como o Pai mo ensinou.
29 and He who sent Me is with Me; the Father did not leave Me alone, because I always do the things pleasing to Him.”
E aquele que me enviou está comigo; o Pai não me tem deixado só, porque eu faço sempre o que lhe agrada.
30 As He is speaking these things, many believed in Him;
Falando ele estas coisas, muitos creram nele.
31 Jesus, therefore, said to the Jews who believed in Him, “If you may remain in My word, you are truly My disciples,
Jesus dizia pois aos judeus que criam nele: Se vós permanecerdes na minha palavra, verdadeiramente sereis meus discípulos;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
E conhecereis a verdade, e a verdade vos libertará.
33 They answered Him, “We are seed of Abraham; and we have been servants to no one at any time; how do You say—You will become free?”
Responderam-lhe: Somos descendência de Abraão, e nunca servimos a ninguém; como dizes tu: Sereis livres?
34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who is committing sin, is a servant of sin,
Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que todo aquele que comete pecado é servo do pecado.
35 and the servant does not remain in the house—throughout the age, the Son remains—throughout the age; (aiōn g165)
Ora o servo não fica para sempre em casa; o Filho fica para sempre. (aiōn g165)
36 if then the Son may make you free, in reality you will be free.
Se pois o Filho vos libertar, verdadeiramente sereis livres.
37 I have known that you are seed of Abraham, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you;
Bem sei que sois descendência de Abraão; contudo, procurais matar-me, porque a minha palavra não cabe em vós.
38 I speak that which I have seen with My Father, and you, therefore, do that which you have seen with your father.”
Eu falo do que vi junto de meu Pai, e vós fazeis o que também vistes junto de vosso pai.
39 They answered and said to Him, “Our father is Abraham”; Jesus says to them, “If you were children of Abraham, the works of Abraham you were doing;
Responderam, e disseram-lhe: Nosso pai é Abraão. Jesus disse-lhes: Se fosseis filhos de Abraão, farieis as obras de Abraão.
40 and now, you seek to kill Me—a Man who has spoken to you the truth I heard from God; Abraham did not do this;
Porém agora procurais matar-me, a mim, um homem que vos tenho falado a verdade que de Deus tenho ouvido; Abraão não fez isto.
41 you do the works of your father.” They said, therefore, to Him, “We have not been born of whoredom; we have one Father—God”;
Vós fazeis as obras de vosso pai. Disseram-lhe pois: Nós não somos nascidos da fornicação; temos um pai, que é Deus.
42 Jesus then said to them, “If God were your father, you were loving Me, for I came forth from God, and am come; for neither have I come of Myself, but He sent Me;
Disse-lhes pois Jesus; Se Deus fosse o vosso pai, certamente me amarieis, pois que eu saí, e vim de Deus; porque não vim de mim mesmo, mas ele me enviou.
43 why do you not know My speech? Because you are not able to hear My word.
Porque não entendeis a minha linguagem? por não poderdes ouvir a minha palavra.
44 You are of a father—the Devil, and the desires of your father you will to do; he was a manslayer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him; when one may speak the falsehood, he speaks of his own, because he is a liar—also his father.
Vós tendes por pai ao diabo, e quereis fazer os desejos de vosso pai: ele foi homicida desde o princípio, e não permaneceu na verdade, porque não há verdade nele; quando fala mentira, fala do que lhe é próprio, porque é mentiroso, e pai da mentira.
45 And because I say the truth, you do not believe Me.
Mas, porque vos digo a verdade, não me credes.
46 Who of you convicts Me of sin? And if I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
Quem dentre vós me convence de pecado? E, se digo a verdade, porque não credes?
47 He who is of God, he hears the sayings of God; because of this you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
Quem é de Deus escuta as palavras de Deus; por isso vós não as escutais, porque não sois de Deus.
48 The Jews, therefore, answered and said to Him, “Do we not say well, that You are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”
Responderam pois os judeus, e disseram-lhe: Não dizemos nós bem que és samaritano, e que tens demônio?
49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me;
Jesus respondeu: Eu não tenho demônio, antes honro a meu Pai, e vós me desonrais.
50 and I do not seek My own glory; there is [One] who is seeking and is judging;
Eu não busco a minha glória; há quem a busque, e julgue.
51 truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone may keep My word, he may not see death—throughout the age.” (aiōn g165)
Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que, se alguém guardar a minha palavra, nunca verá a morte. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews, therefore, said to Him, “Now we have known that You have a demon; Abraham died, and the prophets, and You say, If anyone may keep My word, he will not taste of death—throughout the age! (aiōn g165)
Disseram-lhe pois os judeus: Agora conhecemos que tens demônio. Morreu Abraão e os profetas; e tu dizes: Se alguém guardar a minha palavra, nunca provará a morte. (aiōn g165)
53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died; whom do You make Yourself?”
És tu maior do que o nosso pai Abraão, que morreu? e também os profetas morreram: quem te fazes tu ser?
54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who is glorifying Me, of whom you say that He is your God;
Jesus respondeu: Se eu me glorifico a mim mesmo, a minha glória é nada; quem me glorifica é o meu Pai, o qual dizeis que é vosso Deus.
55 and you have not known Him, and I have known Him, and if I say that I have not known Him, I will be like you—speaking falsely; but I have known Him, and I keep His word;
E vós não o conheceis, mas eu conheço-o: e, se disser que o não conheço, serei mentiroso como vós; mas conheço-o e guardo a sua palavra.
56 your father Abraham was glad that he might see My day; and he saw, and rejoiced.”
Abraão, vosso pai, exultou por ver o meu dia, e viu-o, e alegrou-se.
57 The Jews, therefore, said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?”
Disseram-lhe pois os judeus: Ainda não tens cincoênta anos, e viste Abraão?
58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham’s coming—I AM”;
Disse-lhes Jesus: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que antes que Abraão fosse feito eu sou.
59 they took up, therefore, stones that they may cast at Him, but Jesus hid Himself, and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Então pegaram em pedras para lhe atirarem; porém Jesus ocultou-se, e saiu do templo, passando pelo meio deles, e assim se retirou.
