John 7
1 And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for He did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him,
És ezek után Galileát járta Jézus, mert nem akart Júdeában tartózkodni, mivel azon voltak a júdeabeliek, hogy őt megöljék.
2 and the celebration of the Jews was near—that of Shelters—
Közel volt pedig a zsidók ünnepe, a sátoros ünnep.
3 His brothers, therefore, said to Him, “Depart from here, and go away to Judea, that Your disciples may also behold Your works that You do;
Testvérei ekkor azt mondták neki: „Menj el innen, és térj Júdeába, hogy a tanítványaid is lássák azokat, amiket cselekszel.
4 for no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be in public; if you do these things—reveal Yourself to the world”;
Mert senki sem cselekszik titokban semmit, aki maga ismeretté akar lenni. Ha ilyeneket cselekszel, mutasd meg magadat a világnak.“
5 for not even His brothers were believing in Him.
Mert az ő testvérei sem hittek benne.
6 Jesus, therefore, says to them, “My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;
Ekkor azt mondta nekik Jézus: „Az én időm még nincs itt, a ti időtök pedig mindig készen van.
7 the world is not able to hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.
Titeket nem gyűlölhet a világ, de engem gyűlöl, mert én bizonyságot teszek arról, hogy az ő cselekedetei gonoszak.
8 You—go up to this celebration; I do not yet go up to this celebration, because My time has not yet been fulfilled”;
Ti menjetek fel erre az ünnepre: én még nem megyek fel erre az ünnepre, mert az én időm még nem jött el.“
9 and saying these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
Ezeket mondva nekik, ott maradt Galileában.
10 And when His brothers went up, then also He Himself went up to the celebration, not openly, but as in secret;
Amint azonban felmentek az ő testvérei, akkor ő is felment az ünnepre, nem nyilvánosan, hanem mintegy titokban.
11 the Jews, therefore, were seeking Him in the celebration, and said, “Where is that One?”
A zsidók azért keresték őt az ünnepen, és ezt mondták: „Hol van ő?“
12 And there was much murmuring about Him among the multitudes, some indeed said, “He is good”; and others said, “No, but He leads the multitude astray”;
És a sokaságban nagy zúgás volt őmiatta. Némelyek azt mondták, hogy jó ember, mások pedig azt mondták: „Nem, hanem a népnek hitetője.“
13 no one, however, was speaking freely about Him, through fear of the Jews.
Mindamellett senki sem beszélt nyíltan őróla a zsidóktól való félelem miatt.
14 And it being now the middle of the celebration, Jesus went up to the temple, and He was teaching,
Már-már az ünnep közepén azonban felment Jézus a templomba, és tanított.
15 and the Jews were wondering, saying, “How has this One known letters—having not learned?”
És csodálkoztak a zsidók, ezt mondva: „Honnan tudja ez az Írásokat, holott nem tanulta?!“
16 Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me;
Jézus erre így felelt nekik: „Az én tudományom nem az enyém, hanem azé, aki elküldött engem.
17 if anyone may will to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or—[if] I speak from Myself.
Ha valaki cselekedni akarja az ő akaratát, megismerheti e tudományról, vajon Istentől van-e, vagy én magamtól szólok?
18 He who is speaking from himself seeks his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;
Aki magától szól, a maga dicsőségét keresi, aki pedig annak dicsőségét keresi, aki küldte őt, igaz az, és nincs abban hamisság.
19 has not Moses given you the Law? And none of you does the Law; why do you seek to kill Me?”
Nem Mózes adta-e néktek a törvényt? Ám senki sem teljesíti közületek a törvényt. Miért akartok engem megölni?“
20 The multitude answered and said, “You have a demon, who seeks to kill You?”
A sokaság felelt, és ezt mondta: „Ördög van benned. Ki akar téged megölni?“
21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all wonder,
Jézus válaszolt, és ezt mondta nekik: „Egy dolgot tettem, és mindnyájan csodálkoztok.
22 because of this, Moses has given you the circumcision—not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers—and on a Sabbath you circumcise a man;
Mózes adta néktek a körülmetélkedést (nem mintha Mózestől való volna, hanem az atyáktól): és szombaton körülmetélitek az embert.
23 if a man receives circumcision on a Sabbath that the Law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with Me that I made a man all whole on a Sabbath?
Ha körülmetélhető az ember szombaton, hogy Mózes törvényét meg ne szegjék, akkor rám miért haragusztok, hogy egy embert teljesen meggyógyítottam szombaton?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.”
Ne ítéljetek a látszat után, hanem igaz ítélettel ítéljetek!“
25 Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, “Is this not He whom they are seeking to kill?
Ekkor némelyek a jeruzsálemiek közül ezt mondták: „Nem ez-e az, akit meg akarnak ölni?
26 And behold, He speaks freely, and they say nothing to Him; did the rulers truly know that this is the Christ?
És íme, nyíltan szól, és semmit sem szólnak neki. Talán bizony megismerték a főemberek, hogy bizony ez a Krisztus?
27 But this One—we have known where He is from; and the Christ, when He comes, no one knows where He is from.”
De róla jól tudjuk, honnan való, amikor pedig eljön a Krisztus, senki sem tudja, honnan való.“
28 Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, “You have both known Me, and you have known from where I am; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you have not known;
Jézus a templomban tanított, és kiáltva ezt mondta: „Ti ismertek engem, azt is tudjátok, honnan való vagyok, és én nem magamtól jöttem, de igaz az, aki engem elküldött, akit ti nem ismertek.
29 and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me.”
Én azonban ismerem őt, mert őtőle vagyok, és ő küldött engem.“
30 They were seeking, therefore, to seize Him, and no one laid the hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come,
El akarták ezért őt fogni, de senki sem vetette rá a kezét, mert nem jött még el az ő órája.
31 and many out of the multitude believed in Him and said, “The Christ—when He may come—will He do more signs than these that this One did?”
A sokaságból pedig sokan hittek benne, és ezt mondták: „A Krisztus, amikor eljön, tehet-e majd több csodát azoknál, amelyeket ez tett?“
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take Him;
Meghallották a farizeusok, amint a sokaság ezeket suttogta róla, és szolgákat küldtek a farizeusok és a főpapok, hogy fogják el őt.
33 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “Yet a short time I am with you, and I go away to Him who sent Me;
Ekkor azt mondta nekik Jézus: „Egy kevés ideig még veletek vagyok, és majd elmegyek ahhoz, aki elküldött engem.
34 you will seek Me, and you will not find; and where I am, you are not able to come.”
Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg, ahol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda.“
35 The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, “To where is this One about to go that we will not find Him? Is He about to go to the dispersion of the Greeks, and to teach the Greeks?
A zsidók maguk között ezt mondták: „Hová akar ez menni, hogy mi majd nem találjuk meg őt? Vajon a görögök közé szétszórtakhoz akar menni, és a görögöket tanítani?
36 What is this word that He said, You will seek Me, and you will not find? And, Where I am, you are not able to come?”
Micsoda beszéd ez, amelyet mondott: Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg, ahol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda?“
37 And in the last, the great day of the celebration, Jesus stood and cried, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink;
Az ünnep utolsó nagy napján pedig felállt Jézus, és kiáltva ezt mondta: „Ha valaki szomjazik, jöjjön énhozzám, és igyon.
38 he who is believing in Me, according as the Writing said, Rivers of living water will flow out of his belly”;
Aki hisz énbennem, amint az Írás mondta, annak belsejéből élő víznek folyamai ömlenek.“
39 and this He said of the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Ezt pedig a Lélekről mondta, akit a benne hívők fognak venni: mert még nem volt Szentlélek, mivelhogy Jézus még nem dicsőíttetett meg.
40 Many, therefore, out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, “This is truly the Prophet”;
Sokan azért a sokaság közül, amint hallották e beszédet, ezt mondták: „Bizonnyal ez a Próféta.“
41 others said, “This is the Christ”; and others said, “Why, does the Christ come out of Galilee?
Némelyek ezt mondták: „Ez a Krisztus.“Mások pedig azt mondták: „Csak nem Galileából jön el a Krisztus?
42 Did the Writing not say that out of the seed of David, and from Beth-Lehem—the village where David was—the Christ comes?”
Nem az Írás mondta-e, hogy a Dávid magvából és Betlehemből, abból a városból jön el a Krisztus, ahol Dávid volt?“
43 A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of Him.
Ellentét támadt azért őmiatta a sokaságban.
44 And certain of them were willing to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him;
Némelyek pedig közülük el akarták őt fogni, de senki sem vettette reá a kezét.
45 the officers came, therefore, to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”
Elmentek azért a szolgák a főpapokhoz és farizeusokhoz, és mondták azok nekik: „Miért nem hoztátok el őt?“
46 The officers answered, “Never so spoke man—as this Man.”
A szolgák így feleltek: „Soha ember úgy nem szólott, mint ez az ember!“
47 The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, “Have you also been led astray?
A farizeusok így feleltek nekik: „Vajon ti is meg vagytok tévesztve?
48 Did anyone out of the rulers believe in Him? Or out of the Pharisees?
Vajon a főemberek vagy a farizeusok közül hitt-e benne valaki?
49 But this multitude, that is not knowing the Law, is accursed.”
De ez a sokaság, amely nem ismeri a törvényt, átkozott!“
50 Nicodemus says to them—he who came by night to Him—being one of them,
Ezt mondta nekik Nikodémus, aki éjjel ment őhozzá, és aki egy volt közülük:
51 “Does our law judge the Man, if it may not hear from Him first, and know what He does?”
„Vajon a mi törvényünk elítéli-e az embert, ha előbb ki nem hallgatja, és nem tudja, hogy mit cselekszik?“
52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also out of Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not risen out of Galilee”; [[
Azok így feleltek neki: „Vajon te is galileai vagy-e? Nézz utána, és lásd meg, hogy Galileából nem támadt próféta.“
53 and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the Mount of Olives.
És mindnyájan hazamentek.
