John 7
1 And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for He did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him,
Pak Ježíš chodil po Galileji, v Judsku mu ukládali o život.
2 and the celebration of the Jews was near—that of Shelters—
Když se blížily židovské svátky díkůvzdání,
3 His brothers, therefore, said to Him, “Depart from here, and go away to Judea, that Your disciples may also behold Your works that You do;
Ježíšovi bratři naléhali: „Jdi do Judska, ať lidé vidí tvoje činy!
4 for no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be in public; if you do these things—reveal Yourself to the world”;
Neskrývej se v ústraní, ale snaž se prosadit na veřejnosti.“
5 for not even His brothers were believing in Him.
Oni ho totiž nechápali.
6 Jesus, therefore, says to them, “My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;
Ježíš jim řekl: „Půjdu, až přijde můj čas. Vy můžete jít kdykoliv,
7 the world is not able to hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.
protože vás lidé nebudou nenávidět tak jako mne. Neradi slyší, když je obviňuji z jejich zlých činů.
8 You—go up to this celebration; I do not yet go up to this celebration, because My time has not yet been fulfilled”;
Jděte klidně sami a já přijdu, až bude vhodná chvíle.“
9 and saying these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
Ježíš zůstal v Galileji, ale brzy po odchodu svých bratrů se tajně vydal na cestu. Chtěl totiž dojít do Jeruzaléma nepoznán.
10 And when His brothers went up, then also He Himself went up to the celebration, not openly, but as in secret;
11 the Jews, therefore, were seeking Him in the celebration, and said, “Where is that One?”
O svátcích ho tam lidé hledali a všude se o něm hovořilo. Někteří ho chválili, jiní zase říkali, že plete lidem hlavu.
12 And there was much murmuring about Him among the multitudes, some indeed said, “He is good”; and others said, “No, but He leads the multitude astray”;
13 no one, however, was speaking freely about Him, through fear of the Jews.
Ale to se jen šeptalo, protože mluvit o něm na veřejnosti bylo nebezpečné.
14 And it being now the middle of the celebration, Jesus went up to the temple, and He was teaching,
Uprostřed oslav se Ježíš objevil v chrámu a začal kázat.
15 and the Jews were wondering, saying, “How has this One known letters—having not learned?”
Překvapení Židé se divili: „Jak to, že se tak vyzná v Písmu, když na to nemá školy?“
16 Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me;
Ježíš jim odpověděl: „Nepředkládám vám své vlastní názory. Tlumočím jen to, co vám chce sdělit Bůh.
17 if anyone may will to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or—[if] I speak from Myself.
Jste-li ochotni plnit Boží vůli, jistě poznáte, že to nejsou má vlastní slova.
18 He who is speaking from himself seeks his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;
Kdo přináší světu jen vlastní myšlenky, ten touží po slávě a lidské chvále. Ale ten je upřímný a pravdomluvný, kdo svou řečí oslavuje Boha.
19 has not Moses given you the Law? And none of you does the Law; why do you seek to kill Me?”
Mojžíš vám dal zákon, ale nikdo z vás ho neplní. Jakým právem mne osočujete? Proč mi ukládáte o život?“
20 The multitude answered and said, “You have a demon, who seeks to kill You?”
„Ty ses snad pomátl na rozumu! Copak tě chce někdo zabít?“ozvalo se z davu.
21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all wonder,
Ježíš jim řekl: „Uzdravil jsem v sobotu nemocného člověka, a vyvedlo vás to z míry.
22 because of this, Moses has given you the circumcision—not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers—and on a Sabbath you circumcise a man;
Přitom vy sami nepovažujete za porušení, když připadne na sobotu povinnost udělat obřízku, a klidně ji vykonáte. Proč vás tedy tak rozčiluje, že jsem v sobotu vrátil člověku zdraví?
23 if a man receives circumcision on a Sabbath that the Law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with Me that I made a man all whole on a Sabbath?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.”
Neulpívejte na povrchu, ale pronikejte k jádru věci.“
25 Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, “Is this not He whom they are seeking to kill?
Někteří z jeruzalémských občanů povstali: „Je to opravdu ten, kterého chtějí zabít?
26 And behold, He speaks freely, and they say nothing to Him; did the rulers truly know that this is the Christ?
Veřejně káže v chrámu, a oni ho nechají. Že by ho přece uznali za Mesiáše? To se nám nezdá. O Mesiáši prý nikdo nebude vědět, odkud přišel, ale Ježíšův původ známe.“
27 But this One—we have known where He is from; and the Christ, when He comes, no one knows where He is from.”
28 Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, “You have both known Me, and you have known from where I am; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you have not known;
„Znáte mne a víte, odkud pocházím, “zvolal Ježíš. „Ale neznáte toho, který mne poslal.
29 and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me.”
Já ho znám dobře a vím, že si zaslouží naši důvěru. On za mnou stojí, neprosazuji svou vlastní věc.“
30 They were seeking, therefore, to seize Him, and no one laid the hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come,
Chtěli ho zatknout, ale nikdo se k tomu neodhodlal, protože ještě nepřišla chvíle, kdy se to mělo stát. Mnozí z posluchačů v Ježíše uvěřili.
31 and many out of the multitude believed in Him and said, “The Christ—when He may come—will He do more signs than these that this One did?”
Řekli si: „Mesiáš by určitě nedělal více zázraků než on!“
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take Him;
Když se to doneslo farizejům a velekněžím, poslali chrámovou stráž, aby ho zatkla.
33 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “Yet a short time I am with you, and I go away to Him who sent Me;
Ježíš pokračoval: „Zůstanu s vámi ještě nějaký čas a pak se vrátím k tomu, který mne poslal.
34 you will seek Me, and you will not find; and where I am, you are not able to come.”
Až odejdu, budete mne marně hledat, ale za mnou se nedostanete.“
35 The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, “To where is this One about to go that we will not find Him? Is He about to go to the dispersion of the Greeks, and to teach the Greeks?
Židé se překvapeně ptali: „Kam chce odejít, že se za ním nedostaneme? Chce snad jít mezi pohany a učit je?“
36 What is this word that He said, You will seek Me, and you will not find? And, Where I am, you are not able to come?”
37 And in the last, the great day of the celebration, Jesus stood and cried, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink;
Poslední den svátků, když kněží v průvodu nesli vodu do chrámu, stál tam Ježíš a volal: „Kdo má žízeň, pojď se ke mně napít. Písmo říká, že nitro každého, kdo ve mne uvěří, vydá životodárný pramen.“
38 he who is believing in Me, according as the Writing said, Rivers of living water will flow out of his belly”;
39 and this He said of the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Mluvil o Božím Duchu, který měl být seslán až po dovršení Ježíšova díla na zemi. Měl ho dostat každý, kdo v Ježíše uvěří.
40 Many, therefore, out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, “This is truly the Prophet”;
Ze zástupu se ozvaly dohady: „To je asi Mesiáš.“
41 others said, “This is the Christ”; and others said, “Why, does the Christ come out of Galilee?
Někteří však namítali: „Ne, to může být nanejvýš jeho předchůdce. Pochází přece z Galileje!
42 Did the Writing not say that out of the seed of David, and from Beth-Lehem—the village where David was—the Christ comes?”
A Písmo říká, že Mesiáš se narodí v Betlémě a že bude potomkem krále Davida.“
43 A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of Him.
Nakonec se pohádali.
44 And certain of them were willing to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him;
Chrámová stráž se neodvážila Ježíše zatknout. Vrátili se ke kněžím a farizejům, kteří se na ně obořili: „Kde ho máte? Proč jste ho nepřivedli?“
45 the officers came, therefore, to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”
46 The officers answered, “Never so spoke man—as this Man.”
„Nemohli jsme, takového člověka jsme ještě neslyšeli.“
47 The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, “Have you also been led astray?
„Tak i vy jste se nechali svést?“zlobili se farizejové.
48 Did anyone out of the rulers believe in Him? Or out of the Pharisees?
„Uvěřil mu snad někdo z velerady nebo z nás?
49 But this multitude, that is not knowing the Law, is accursed.”
Co se dá čekat od nevzdělaného davu! Nevyznají se v Bibli a takhle to dopadá.“
50 Nicodemus says to them—he who came by night to Him—being one of them,
Jeden z farizejů – Nikodém, který před časem Ježíše navštívil, namítl:
51 “Does our law judge the Man, if it may not hear from Him first, and know what He does?”
„Jak můžete odsoudit člověka, kterého jste nevyslechli? Odpovídá to našemu zákonu?“
52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also out of Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not risen out of Galilee”; [[
„Nejsi snad jeho krajan?“zeptali se ho. „Ukaž nám v Bibli, že má přijít prorok z Galileje.“
53 and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the Mount of Olives.
