< John 7 >

1 And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for He did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him,
Hahoi Jisuh teh Galilee lah kahlawng a cei. Judahnaw ni Bawipa teh thei hane a kâcai awh dawkvah, Judah lah kahlawng cei hane ngai hoeh.
2 and the celebration of the Jews was near—that of Shelters—
Judahnaw e lukkareiim pawi, a tue ni a hnai toe.
3 His brothers, therefore, said to Him, “Depart from here, and go away to Judea, that Your disciples may also behold Your works that You do;
4 for no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be in public; if you do these things—reveal Yourself to the world”;
5 for not even His brothers were believing in Him.
Hottelah deingainae teh, amae a nawnghanaw ni patenghai Jisuh teh a yuem awh hoeh dawk doeh.
6 Jesus, therefore, says to them, “My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;
Jisuh nihai, kaie atueng phat hoe rah, hatei, nangmae atueng teh coungkacoe lah pou ao.
7 the world is not able to hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.
8 You—go up to this celebration; I do not yet go up to this celebration, because My time has not yet been fulfilled”;
9 and saying these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
Hete lawk a dei nah ahni teh Galilee doeh ao rah.
10 And when His brothers went up, then also He Himself went up to the celebration, not openly, but as in secret;
Hatnavah, a nawnghanaw pawi koe be a cei awh hnukkhu, Jisuh teh hote pawi koe a ru lah duem a cei van.
11 the Jews, therefore, were seeking Him in the celebration, and said, “Where is that One?”
12 And there was much murmuring about Him among the multitudes, some indeed said, “He is good”; and others said, “No, but He leads the multitude astray”;
Taminaw ni Bawipa e kong hah phuenangnae lah a o. Tami tangawn ni teh tami kahawi doeh ati awh. Tami a tangawn ni teh tami ka dumyen e doeh ati awh.
13 no one, however, was speaking freely about Him, through fear of the Jews.
Hatei, Judahnaw a taki awh dawkvah api ni hai kamcengcairalah dei han ngam awh hoeh.
14 And it being now the middle of the celebration, Jesus went up to the temple, and He was teaching,
Hote pawi a sak awh lahun nah Jisuh ni bawkim a cei teh a cangkhai.
15 and the Jews were wondering, saying, “How has this One known letters—having not learned?”
Judahnaw ni a kângairu awh teh, hete tami heh cangnae tawn laipalah, bangtelah hoi maw thoumthainae telah a panue ati awh.
16 Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me;
17 if anyone may will to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or—[if] I speak from Myself.
18 He who is speaking from himself seeks his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;
Amahmawk ka dei e niteh, amae a barinae doeh a tawng awh. Kapatounkung e a barinae ka tawng e teh yuemkamcu teh a payonnae ahni tak dawk awm hoeh.
19 has not Moses given you the Law? And none of you does the Law; why do you seek to kill Me?”
20 The multitude answered and said, “You have a demon, who seeks to kill You?”
21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all wonder,
22 because of this, Moses has given you the circumcision—not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers—and on a Sabbath you circumcise a man;
Mosi ni vuensomanae phunglawk na cangkhai awh e heh, Mosi koehoi kamtawng ti deingainae laipalah mintoenaw koe e râw lah a pang awh. Hatdawkvah sabbath nah hnin vuensomanae a sak awh.
23 if a man receives circumcision on a Sabbath that the Law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with Me that I made a man all whole on a Sabbath?
Mosi e phung lawk a kamko hoe na hanlah Sabbath hnin vuensom na awh pawiteh, kai ni Sabbath na hnin nah tami a takbuem lah damnae ka poe dawkvah nangmouh ni bangkong na lungkhuek awh vaw.
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.”
Minhmai khet lahoi lawk tâtueng han awh. Kalancalah lawk tâtueng awh, atipouh.
25 Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, “Is this not He whom they are seeking to kill?
Hatnavah Jerusalem e tami tangawn ni hete tami heh ahnimouh ni thei hanelah a kâcaikhai awh e nahoehmaw.
26 And behold, He speaks freely, and they say nothing to Him; did the rulers truly know that this is the Christ?
Hateiteh, khenhaw! lolo kamnuek lah phung a dei ei apinihai bang tet awh hoeh bo! Hete tami heh Khrih ama doeh tie ukkung bawinaw ni a panue katang toung vaimoe.
27 But this One—we have known where He is from; and the Christ, when He comes, no one knows where He is from.”
Hatei, hete tami teh nâhoi maw a tho tie maimouh ni panue awh. Khrih a tho torei teh, nâhoi maw a tho tie apinihai panuek mahoeh ati awh.
28 Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, “You have both known Me, and you have known from where I am; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you have not known;
29 and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me.”
30 They were seeking, therefore, to seize Him, and no one laid the hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come,
Hatnavah ahnimouh ni Bawipa teh a man awh hanlah a panki awh ei, a tue a pha hoeh rah dawkvah apinihai man awh hoeh.
31 and many out of the multitude believed in Him and said, “The Christ—when He may come—will He do more signs than these that this One did?”
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take Him;
Taminaw a phuenang awh e hah vaihma bawinaw hoi Farasi kacuenaw ni a thai awh navah Jisuh man sak hanelah karingkungnaw a patoun awh.
33 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “Yet a short time I am with you, and I go away to Him who sent Me;
Jisuh ni, kai teh nangmouh koe dongdeng doeh kaawm tih, kapatounkung koe let bout ka cei han.
34 you will seek Me, and you will not find; and where I am, you are not able to come.”
35 The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, “To where is this One about to go that we will not find Him? Is He about to go to the dispersion of the Greeks, and to teach the Greeks?
Judahnaw ni hettelah atipouh awh. Kaimouh ni ka hmu awh hoeh nahanelah amahoima nâ lah maw cei han a kâcai vai. Griknaw koe hoi kampeknaw koe a cei vaiteh, Griknaw vaimoe a cangkhai han vai.
36 What is this word that He said, You will seek Me, and you will not find? And, Where I am, you are not able to come?”
37 And in the last, the great day of the celebration, Jesus stood and cried, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink;
Hote pawi abaw nah hnin, Jisuh ni a kangdue lahoi a hramkhai e teh, apihai tui kahran e pueng, kai koe tho awh teh net awh.
38 he who is believing in Me, according as the Writing said, Rivers of living water will flow out of his belly”;
39 and this He said of the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
A tingainae teh, ka yuem e naw ni Muitha a hmu awh hane hah a dei ngai e doeh. Hatei, Jisuh teh pholen lah ao hoe rah dawkvah, Kathoung Muitha poe hoeh rah.
40 Many, therefore, out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, “This is truly the Prophet”;
A lawk ka thai pueng ni, ahni teh profet katang doeh ati awh.
41 others said, “This is the Christ”; and others said, “Why, does the Christ come out of Galilee?
Bangpatetnaw niteh, ahni heh Khrih doeh ati awh. Hatei, bang patet niteh, Khrih teh Galilee hoi maw a tâco han, ati awh.
42 Did the Writing not say that out of the seed of David, and from Beth-Lehem—the village where David was—the Christ comes?”
Khrih teh Devit catoun, Devit kho Bethlehem a khe han, Cakathoung ni a dei na hoe maw ati awh.
43 A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of Him.
Hatnavah, tamihu thung Jisuh kawng dawk kâkapeknae ao awh.
44 And certain of them were willing to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him;
Atangawn ni teh a man han a ngai awh. Hatei, apinihai bout man awh hoeh.
45 the officers came, therefore, to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”
Karingnaw ni vaihma bawinaw hoi Farasinaw koe let a ban awh navah, ahnimouh ni bangkongmaw ahni hah na hrawi hoe vaw atipouh.
46 The officers answered, “Never so spoke man—as this Man.”

47 The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, “Have you also been led astray?
48 Did anyone out of the rulers believe in Him? Or out of the Pharisees?
Kâ katawnnaw hoi Farasinaw thung dawk ahni kayuem e tami buet touh bang ao maw.
49 But this multitude, that is not knowing the Law, is accursed.”
50 Nicodemus says to them—he who came by night to Him—being one of them,
Karum vah Jisuh koe ka cet e ahnimae a hui buet touh Nikodemus tie ni ahnimouh koe a dei pouh.
51 “Does our law judge the Man, if it may not hear from Him first, and know what He does?”
A sak hoi a dei e panue hoi thai hoeh nahlan, maimae kâlawk ni lawkceng thai na maw telah atipouh.
52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also out of Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not risen out of Galilee”; [[
Galilee dawk hoi profet tâcawt boihoeh tie hah panuek awh.
53 and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the Mount of Olives.
