John 6
1 After these things Jesus went away beyond the Sea of Galilee (of Tiberias),
Darnach fuhr Jesus über den See Galiläas bei Tiberias.
2 and there was following Him a great multitude, because they were seeing His signs that He was doing on the ailing;
Und es folgte ihm ein großes Volkshaufe nach, weil sie die Zeichen sahen, die er an den Kranken tat.
3 and Jesus went up to the mountain, and He was sitting with His disciples there,
Jesus aber ging auf den Berg, und setzte sich daselbst mit seinen Jüngern.
4 and the Passover was near, the celebration of the Jews.
Es war aber nahe das Passah, das Fest der Juden.
5 Jesus then having lifted up [His] eyes and having seen that a great multitude comes to Him, says to Philip, “From where will we buy loaves, that these may eat?”
Da hob Jesus seine Augen auf, und sah, daß ein großer Volkshaufe zu ihm kommt, und spricht zu Philippus: Woher kaufen wir Brot, daß diese essen?
6 And this He said, trying him, for He Himself had known what He was about to do.
Das sagte er aber, ihn zu versuchen, denn er wußte, was er tun wollte.
7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of loaves are not sufficient to them, that each of them may receive some little”;
Philippus antwortete ihm: Für zweihundert Denare Brot ist nicht genug für sie, daß ein jeglicher von ihnen ein wenig nehme.
8 one of His disciples—Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter—says to Him,
Sagt ihm einer seiner Jünger, Andreas, der Bruder von Simon Petrus:
9 “There is one little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fishes, but these—what are they to so many?”
Es ist ein Knabe hier, der hat fünf Gerstenbrote und zwei Fische, aber was ist das unter so viele?
10 And Jesus said, “Make the men to sit down”; and there was much grass in the place, the men then sat down, in number, as it were, five thousand,
Jesus aber sprach: Machet, daß die Leute sich lagern. Es war aber viel Gras an dem Orte. Da lagerten sich die Männer bei fünftausend an der Zahl
11 and Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks He distributed [them] to the disciples, and the disciples to those reclining, in like manner, also of the little fishes as much as they wished.
Jesus aber nahm die Brote, sprach das Dankgebet, und gab sie, denen, die sich gelagert hatten, und gleicherweise von den Fischen, wieviel sie wollten.
12 And when they were filled, He says to His disciples, “Gather together the broken pieces that are left over, that nothing may be lost”;
Als sie aber satt waren, sagt er seinen Jüngern: Sammelt die übriggebliebenen Stücke, damit nichts umkomme.
13 they gathered together, therefore, and filled twelve hand-baskets with broken pieces, from the five barley loaves that were over to those having eaten.
Da sammelten sie, und füllten zwölf Körbe mit Stücken von den fünf Gerstenbroten, die übrig geblieben waren, die gegessen hatten.
14 The men, then, having seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is coming into the world”;
Da nun die Leute das Zeichen sahen, welches Jesus getan hatte, sprachen sie: Dieser ist wahrhaftig der Prophet, der in die Welt kommen soll!
15 Jesus, therefore, having known that they are about to come, and to seize Him by force that they may make Him king, retired again to the mountain Himself alone.
Da nun Jesus merkte, daß sie kommen und ihn haschen würden, daß sie ihn zum König machten, entwich er wiederum auf den Berg, er allein.
16 And when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,
Als es aber Abend geworden war, gingen seine Jünger hinab an den See,
17 and having entered into the boat, they were going over the sea to Capernaum, and darkness had already come, and Jesus had not come to them,
Stiegen in ein Boot, und kamen über den See, gen Kapernaum. Und es war schon finster, und Jesus war nicht zu ihnen gekommen.
18 the sea also—a great wind blowing—was being raised,
Und der See erhob sich, weil ein starker Wind blies.
19 having pushed onward, therefore, about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and coming near to the boat, and they were afraid;
Da sie nun bei fünfundzwanzig bis dreißig Stadien weit gerudert hatten, sehen sie Jesus auf dem See wandeln, und nahe ans Boot kommen; uns sie fürchteten sich.
20 and He says to them, “I AM; do not be afraid”;
Er aber sagt ihnen: Ich bin es; fürchtet euch nicht!
21 they were willing then to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat came to the land to which they were going.
Da wollten sie ihn in das Boot nehmen, und alsbald war das Boot am Lande, Wo sie hingingen.
22 On the next day, the multitude that was standing on the other side of the sea, having seen that there was no other little boat there except one—that into which His disciples entered—and that Jesus did not go in with His disciples into the little boat, but His disciples went away alone
Am anderen Tage, als das Volk, welches jenseits des Sees stand, sah, daß kein anderes Boot daselbst war, außer einem, und das Jesus nicht mit seinen Jüngern in das Boot gegangen war, sondern allein seine Jünger abgefahren waren, -
23 (and other little boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate the bread, the LORD having given thanks),
Andere Boote aber waren gekommen von Tiberias nahe zu der Stätte, da sie das Brot gegessen hatten durch des Herrn Danksagung, -
24 when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus is not there, nor His disciples, they also entered into the boats themselves, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus;
Als nun das Volk sah, daß Jesus nicht da war, noch auch seine Jünger, stiegen sie in die Boote, und kamen nach Kapernaum, Jesus zu suchen.
25 and having found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when have You come here?”
Und als sie ihn jenseits des Sees fanden, sagten sie ihm: Rabbi, wann bist du hergekommen?
26 Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were satisfied;
Jesus antwortete, und sprach: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, ihr suchet mich, nicht weil ihr Zeichen gesehen, sondern weil ihr gegessen habt von den Broten, und satt geworden seid.
27 do not work for the food that is perishing, but for the food that is remaining to continuous life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for the Father sealed Him—[even] God.” (aiōnios g166)
Wirket nicht die vergängliche Speise, sondern die ins ewige Leben bleibende Speise, welche der Menschensohn euch geben wird, denn diesen hat der Vater, Gott, versiegelt. (aiōnios g166)
28 Therefore they said to Him, “What may we do that we may work the works of God?”
Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Was sollen wir tun, damit wir die Werke Gottes wirken?
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you may believe in Him whom He sent.”
Jesus antwortete, und sagte ihnen: Das ist das Werk Gottes, daß ihr glaubet an den, welchen derselbige gesandt hat.
30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign, then, do You do, that we may see and may believe You? What do You work?
Da sagten sie ihm: Was für ein Zeichen tust du denn, daß wir es sehen, und dir glauben? Was wirkest du?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, according as it is having been written: He gave them bread out of Heaven to eat.”
Unsere Väter haben das Manna gegessen in der Wüste, wie geschrieben steht: "Brot aus dem Himmel gab er ihnen zu essen."
32 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread out of Heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread out of Heaven;
Da sagte ihnen Jesus: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Nicht Moses hat euch das Brot aus dem Himmel gegeben, sondern mein Vater gibt euch das wahrhaftige Brot aus dem Himmel.
33 for the bread of God is Him coming down out of Heaven, and giving life to the world.”
Denn das Brot Gottes kommt aus dem Himmel, und gibt der Welt das Leben.
34 Therefore they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”
Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Herr, gib uns allezeit dieses Brot.
35 And Jesus said to them, “I AM the bread of life; he who is coming to Me may not hunger, and he who is believing in Me may not thirst—at any time;
Jesus aber sagte ihnen: Ich bin das Brot des Lebens; wer zu mir kommt, den wird nicht hungern, und wer an mich glaubt, den wird niemals mehr dürsten.
36 but I said to you that you also have seen Me, and you do not believe;
Aber ich habe euch gesagt, daß obwohl ihr mich gesehen habt, ihr doch nicht glaubet.
37 all that the Father gives to Me will come to Me; and him who is coming to Me, I will never cast outside,
Alles, was mir der Vater gegeben hat, kommt zu mir; und den, der zu mir kommt, werde ich nicht hinausstoßen.
38 because I have come down out of Heaven, not that I may do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
Denn ich bin aus dem Himmel gekommen, nicht damit ich meinen Willen tue, sondern den Willen dess´, der mich gesandt hat,
39 And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that all that He has given to Me, I may lose none of it, but may raise it up in the last day;
Daß ich nichts verliere von allem, was mir der Vater gegeben hat, sondern daß ich es auferwecke am letzten Tage.
40 and this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who is beholding the Son, and is believing in Him, may have continuous life, and I will raise him up in the last day.” (aiōnios g166)
Denn dies ist der Wille dess´, der mich gesandt hat, daß jeder, der den Sohn sieht, und glaubt an ihn, ewiges Leben habe, und ich werde ihn auferwecken am letzten Tage. (aiōnios g166)
41 The Jews, therefore, were murmuring at Him, because He said, “I AM the bread that came down out of Heaven”;
Da murmelten die Juden seinetwegen, weil er sagte: Ich bin das Brot, das aus dem Himmel gekommen ist,
42 and they said, “Is this not Jesus, the Son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have known? How then does this One say, I have come down out of Heaven?”
Und sagten: Ist dieser nicht Jesus, der Sohn Josephs, dessen Vater und Mutter wir kennen? Wie sagt denn dieser: Ich bin aus dem Himmel gekommen?
43 Jesus answered, therefore, and said to them, “Do not murmur with one another;
Da antwortete Jesus, und sagte ihnen: Murmelt nicht untereinander;
44 no one is able to come to Me if the Father who sent Me may not draw him, and I will raise him up in the last day;
Niemand kann zu mir kommen, es sei denn, daß der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, ihn ziehe; und ich werde ihn auferwecken am letzten Tage.
45 it is having been written in the Prophets: And they will all be taught of God; everyone, therefore, who heard from the Father, and learned, comes to Me;
Es steht geschrieben in den Propheten: "Und sie werden alle von Gott gelehrt sein": Ein jeder, der vom Vater hört und lernt, kommt zu mir.
46 not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God, He has seen the Father.
Nicht daß jemand den Vater gesehen hat, außer dem, der von Gott ist, der hat den Vater gesehen.
Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer an mich glaubt, der hat ewiges Leben. (aiōnios g166)
48 I AM the bread of life;
Ich bin das Brot des Lebens.
49 your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died;
Eure Väter haben das Manna in der Wüste gegessen und sind gestorben.
50 this is the bread that is coming down out of Heaven, that anyone may eat of it, and not die.
Dies ist das Brot, das aus dem Himmel kommt, daß wer davon ist, auch nicht stirbt.
51 I AM the living bread that came down out of Heaven; if anyone may eat of this bread he will live—throughout the age; and the bread also that I will give is My flesh, that I will give for the life of the world.” (aiōn g165)
Ich bin das lebendige Brot, das aus dem Himmel gekommen ist; wenn jemand von diesem Brote ißt, der wird leben in Ewigkeit. Das Brot aber, welches ich geben werde, ist mein Fleisch, welches ich geben werde für das Leben der Welt. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews, therefore, were striving with one another, saying, “How is this One able to give us [His] flesh to eat?”
Da stritten die Juden untereinander, und sprachen: Wie kann dieser uns sein Fleisch zu essen geben?
53 Jesus, therefore, said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you may not eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and may not drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves;
Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr nicht esset das Fleisch des Menschensohnes, und nicht trinket sein Blut, so habt ihr nicht Leben in euch.
54 he who is eating My flesh, and is drinking My blood, has continuous life, and I will raise him up in the last day; (aiōnios g166)
Wer mein Fleisch speist und trinkt mein Blut, der hat ewiges Leben, und ich werde ihn auferwecken am letzten Tage. (aiōnios g166)
55 for My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink;
Denn mein Fleisch ist wahrhaftig Speise, und mein Blut ist wahrhaftig Trank.
56 he who is eating My flesh, and is drinking My blood, remains in Me, and I in him.
Wer mein Fleisch speist und trinkt mein Blut, der bleibt in mir, und ich in ihm.
57 According as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, he also who is eating Me, even that one will live because of Me;
Wie mich gesandt hat der Vater, und ich lebe durch den Vater, so wird auch derjenige, der mich speist, durch mich leben.
58 this is the bread that came down out of Heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who is eating this bread will live—throughout the age.” (aiōn g165)
Dies ist das Brot, das aus dem Himmel herniedergekommen ist; nicht wie euere Väter das Manna aßen, und starben; wer dieses Brot speist, der wird leben in Ewigkeit. (aiōn g165)
59 He said these things in a synagogue, teaching in Capernaum;
Das sprach er, als er in der Synagoge lehrte, in Kapernaum.
60 many, therefore, of His disciples having heard, said, “This word is hard; who is able to hear it?”
Viele nun seiner Jünger, die es hörten, sprachen: Hart ist dieses Wort; wer kann es hören?
61 And Jesus having known in Himself that His disciples are murmuring about this, said to them, “Does this stumble you?
Als aber Jesus bei sich selbst mußte, daß seine Jünger darüber murmelten, sagte er ihnen: Das ist euch anstößig?
62 If then you may behold the Son of Man going up where He was before?
Wenn ihr nun sehen werdet den Menschensohn aufsteigen, wo er zuvor war?
63 It is the Spirit that is giving life; the flesh does not profit anything; the sayings that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life;
Der Geist ist das, was lebendig macht, das Fleisch ist nichts nütze; die Worte, welche ich zu euch geredet habe, die sind Geist und sind Leben.
64 but there are certain of you who do not believe”; for Jesus had known from the beginning who they are who are not believing, and who is he who will deliver Him up,
Aber es sind etliche von euch, die nicht glauben. Denn Jesus wußte von Anfang an, welche die waren, die nicht an ihn glauben, und wer der war, der ihn verraten würde.
65 and He said, “Because of this I have said to you, No one is able to come to Me if it may not have been given him from My Father.”
Und sprach: Darum habe ich euch gesagt, daß niemand zu mir kommen kann, wenn es ihm nicht gegeben wird von meinem Vater.
66 From this [time] many of His disciples went away backward, and were no longer walking with Him,
Von dem an gingen viele seiner Jünger zurück, und wandelten nicht mehr mit ihm.
67 Jesus, therefore, said to the Twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?”
Da sagte Jesus den Zwölfen: Ihr wollt doch nicht auch weggehen?
68 Simon Peter, therefore, answered Him, “Lord, to whom will we go? You have sayings of continuous life; (aiōnios g166)
Simon Petrus antwortete ihm: Herr, zu wem sollen wir hingehen? Du hast Worte ewigen Lebens; (aiōnios g166)
69 and we have believed, and we have known, that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Und wir haben geglaubt und erkannt, daß du bist der Messias, der Heilige Gottes.
70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you—the Twelve? And of you—one is a devil.”
Jesus antwortete ihnen: Habe ich nicht euch Zwölfe erwählt? Und einer von euch ist ein Teufel
71 And He spoke of Judas, [son] of Simon Iscariot, for he was about to deliver Him up, being one of the Twelve.
Er sprach aber von Judas Simons (Sohn) Ischariot; denn dieser sollt ihn verraten, und war einer von den Zwölfen.
