< John 18 >
1 Having said these things, Jesus went forth with His disciples beyond the Brook of Kidron, where [there] was a garden, into which He entered, Himself and His disciples,
UYesu ye amalile pikufuunya, akavuuka palikimo na vavulanisivua vaake, vakakila uluvonde ulwa Keduloni, vakingila mumughundo ughwa miseituni.
2 and Judas also, who delivered Him up, had known the place, because Jesus assembled there with His disciples many times.
UYuuda unya kumwohela uYesu, alyaghumanyile umughunda ughuo, ulwakuva kekinga uYesu na vavulanisivua vaake vakakong'hanagha apuo.
3 Judas, therefore, having taken the band and officers out of the chief priests and Pharisees, comes there with torches and lamps, and weapons;
Pe akakilongosia ikipugha kya vasikali na valoleleli kuhuma ku vavaha va vatekesi na ku Vafalisayi, akaluta navo mu mughunda kumo vakolile itaala, imuli ni filwilo.
4 Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that are coming on Him, having gone forth, said to them, “Whom do you seek?”
UYesu alyakagwile sooni sino kyasikumwagha, akaluta kuveene, akavaposia akati, “Mukumulonda veeni?”
5 They answered Him, “Jesus the Nazarene”; Jesus says to them, “I AM”; and Judas who delivered Him up was standing with them.
Pe aveene vakamwamula vakati, “Tukumulonda uYesu uMunasaleti.” UYesu akavavuula akati, “Neene” UYuda umwohesi alyimimile palikimo na vaanhu avuo.
6 When, therefore, He said to them, “I AM,” they went away backward, and fell to the ground.
UYesu ye avavulile kuuti, “Neene” vakagomoka kinsana nsana vakaghua.
7 Again, therefore, He questioned them, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene”;
Kange akavaposia akati, “Mukumulonda veeni?” Vakamwamula vakati, “Tukumulonda uYesu uMunasaleti.”
8 Jesus answered, “I said to you that I AM; if, then, you seek Me, permit these to go away”;
UYesu akavamula akati, “Nivavulile kuuti neene. Lino nave mukundonda une, muvaleke avaanhu ava valutaghe.”
9 that the word might be fulfilled that He said, “Those whom You have given to Me, I did not lose even one of them.”
UYesu akajovile enendiiki kukwilanisia sino alyajovile kuuti, “Vano ulyamheliile nanisofisie nambe jumo.
10 Simon Peter, therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the chief priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear—and the name of the servant was Malchus—
USimoni uPeteli alyale ni bamba, akasomola, akadumula imbulughutu ija kundio ija m'bombi ughwa ntekesi um'baha. Um'bombi ujuo akatambuluagha Maluko.
11 Jesus, therefore, said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath; the cup that the Father has given to Me, may I not drink it?”
Neke uYesu akam'buula uPeteli akati, “Gomosia ibamba jaako mu nyambe. Une ninoghiile kukwupila ulupumuko luno uNhaata anding'hanikisie?”
12 The band, therefore, and the captain, and the officers of the Jews, took hold on Jesus, and bound Him,
Avasikali vala nu mbaha ghwave na valoleleli va valongosi va Vayahudi vakankola uYesu, vakankunga.
13 and they led Him away to Annas first, for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was chief priest of that year,
Vakantwala taasi kwa Hanasi, unkwive ghwa Kayafa. UKayafa ujuo alyale ghwe ntekesi umbaha unsiki ughuo.
14 and Caiaphas was he who gave counsel to the Jews that it is good for one man to perish for the people.
Kange ghwe juno alyavavuulile aVayahudi kuuti, lunoghile umuunhu jumo afue vwimila avaanhu vooni.
15 And following Jesus was Simon Peter, and the other disciple, and that disciple was known to the chief priest, and he entered with Jesus into the hall of the chief priest,
USimoni uPeteli nu m'bulanisivua ujunge vakava vikum'bingilila uYesu mumbele. Umbulanisivua ujunge ujuo, alyakaguliike nu ntekesi um'baha, akingila palikimo nu Yesu muluviika ulwa ntekesi umbaha.
16 and Peter was standing at the door outside, therefore the other disciple who was known to the chief priest went forth, and he spoke to the doorkeeper, and he brought in Peter.
Nene uPeteli akiima akiima paanji pa mulyango, Umbulanisivua ujunge jula juno alyakaguliike nu ntekesi umbaha, akahuma panji akajova nu mhinja juno alyale ikuvadindulila avaanhu umulyango, pe akamwitikisia uPeteli kukwingila muluviika.
17 Then the maid, the doorkeeper, says to Peter, “Are you also of the disciples of this Man?” He says, “I am not”;
Umhinja jula akamposia uPeteli akati, “Asi, uve nuli umo ghwa vavulanisivua va muunhu uju?” UPeteli akamwamula akati, “Ndali, une nanili m'bulanisivua ghwake.”
18 and the servants and the officers were standing, having made a fire of coals, because it was cold, and they were warming themselves, and Peter was standing with them, and warming himself.
Avavombi na valoleleli valyapembile umwoto ulwakuva jilyale mhepo, vakava vikwota. Ghwope uPeteli akava palikimo na veene ikwota umwoto.
19 The chief priests, therefore, questioned Jesus concerning His disciples, and concerning His teaching;
Untekesi um'baha akamposia uYesu vwimila avavulanisivua vaake ni mbulanisio saake.
20 Jesus answered him, “I spoke freely to the world, I always taught in a synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always come together; and I spoke nothing in secret;
UYesu akamwamula akati, “Une najovaghe na vaanhu pavuvalafu, ifighono fyoni navulanisyagha mu masinagogi na Nyumba inyimike ija kufunyila, muno vikong'hana aVayahudi vooni. Nanajovagha nambe lisio limonga ku vusyefu.
21 why do you question Me? Question those having heard what I spoke to them; behold, these have known what I said.”
Lino kiki ghukumhosia une? Uvaposie vano vapulikagha, aveene vakagwile sino najovagha.
22 And He having said these things, one of the officers standing by gave Jesus a slap, saying, “Thus do You answer the chief priest?”
UYesu ye ajovile isio, umo mu valoleleli juno alyale piipi nu mwene, akantova ni lipi akati, “kiki ukumwamula enendiiki untekesi um'baha?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If I spoke ill, testify concerning the ill; and if well, why do you strike Me?”
UYesu akamwamula akati, “Nave nijovile fivi, jova uvuviivi vwango. Neke nave nijovile vunofu, kiki ghukunova?”
24 Annas then sent Him bound to Caiaphas the chief priest.
UYesu ye ajiighe akungilue, uAnasi akalaghila kuuti atwalue kwa ntekesi um'baha uKayafa.
25 And Simon Peter was standing and warming himself, then they said to him, “Are you also of His disciples?” He denied and said, “I am not.”
Lino uPeteli ye ikwota umwoto, vamo mu vano valyale vikwota umwoto vakamposia vakati, “Asi uve nuli umo mu vavulanisivua va muunhu uju?” Umwene akakaana akati, 'Ndali, une nanili m'bulanisivua ghwake.”
26 One of the servants of the chief priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”
Neke umo mu vuvombi va ntekesi um'baha, juno alyale nyalukolo ghwa muunhu jula juno uPeteli akan'dumwile imbulughutu akamposia akati, “Asi, naveeve nivele nikwaghile uli palikimo nu Yesu mu mughunda?”
27 Again, therefore, Peter denied, and immediately a rooster crowed.
UPeteli akakaana kange, nakalingi ing'hongove jikavika.
28 They led, therefore, Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, and it was early, and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover;
Palwakilo, vakantoola uYesu kuhuma kwa Kayafa, vakantwala munyumba ija kitwa ija ntwa ghwa Valooma. Neke aveene navakingili munyumba ijio, ulwakuva vangingile viiva valamafu. Mu uluo navaale vilia ikyakulia ikyimike ikya Pasaka.
29 Pilate, therefore, went forth to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”
Pe untwa uPilato akahuma kunji, akavaposia akati, “Asi, umuunhu uju avombile vuhosi vuki vuno mukumhigha?”
30 They answered and said to him, “If He were not doing evil, we had not delivered Him to you.”
Aveene vakamwamula vakati, “Umuunhu uju, aale ave namhosi, natwale tukumuleeta kulyuve.”
31 Pilate, therefore, said to them, “Take Him—you—and judge Him according to your law”; the Jews, therefore, said to him, “It is not lawful to us to put anyone to death”;
UPilato akavavuula akati, “Lino muntoole jumue, mukamhighe ndavule silungika indaghilo siinu.” Avayahudi vakamwamula vakati, 'Usue natuli nu vutavulilua uvwa kumhigha umuunhu kuuti abudue.
32 that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled which He said, signifying by what death He was about to die.
Isio silyavombike enendiiki kukwilanisia sino alyajovile uYesu vule ilifua.
33 Pilate, therefore, entered into the Praetorium again, and called Jesus, and said to Him, “You are the King of the Jews?”
UPilato akagomoka munkate mu nyumba ija kitwa, akankemeela uYesu akamposia akati, “Asi, uve veeve ntwa ghwa Vayahudi?”
34 Jesus answered him, “Do you say this from yourself? Or did others say it to you about Me?”
UYesu akamwamula akati, “Sino ghukumhosia, sihuma mu masaaghe ghaako juuve, pamo avaanhu avange vakwomwile kuuti umhosie?”
35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your nation and the chief priests delivered You up to me; what did You do?”
UPilato akamwamula akati, “Nili Muyahudi une? Avaanu kuhuma mukisina kyako, na vavaha va vatekesi ve vano vakuletile kulyune. Uvombile kiki?
36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, My officers had struggled that I might not be delivered up to Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
UYesu akamwamula akati, “Uvutwa vwango navwa mu iisi muno, vwale vuve vwa mu iisi muno avavombi vango vaale vikunhanga kuuti nileke kukolua na Vayahudi. Neke lino uvutwa vwango navwa mu iisi muno.”
37 Pilate, therefore, said to Him, “Are You then a king?” Jesus answered, “You say [it], because I am a king; I have been born for this, and I have come into the world for this, that I may testify to the truth; everyone who is of the truth, hears My voice.”
Pe uPilato akamposia akati, “Kwe kuti uve uli ntwa?” UYesu akamwamula akati, “Ujovile seseene kuuti une nili ntwa. Une nilyaholilue mu iisi, kuuti nivavulanisie avaanhu uvwakyang'haani. Umuunhu juno ivingilila uvwakyang'haani, ikumhulikisia.”
38 Pilate says to Him, “What is truth?” And having said this, again he went forth to the Jews and says to them, “I find no fault in Him;
UPilato akamosia akati, “Uvwakyang'haani kyekiki?” UPilato ye ajovile isio, akahuma kange kunji, akavavuula aVayahudi akati, “Une nanikuvuvona uvuhosi kwa muunu uju.
39 and you have a custom that I will release to you one in the Passover; do you determine, therefore, [that] I will release to you the King of the Jews?”
Neke umue muli nu luno lukumhelela une kukun'dindulilia unkungua jumo ikighono ikya kyimike kya Pasaka. Asi, mulonda nin'dindulile untwa ghwa Vayahudi?”
40 Therefore they all cried out again, saying, “Not this One—but Barabbas”; and Barabbas was a robber.
Neke avaanhu vooni vakoova vakati, “Ndali ujuo ndali, utudindulile uBalaba.” uBalaba ujuo, alyale mhijimbudi.
