John 14
1 “Do not let your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me;
(Ja hän sanoi opetuslapsillensa: ) älkööt teidän sydämenne murheellinen olko; jos te uskotte Jumalan päälle, niin uskokaat myös minun päälleni.
2 in the house of My Father are many rooms; and if not, I would have told you; I go on to prepare a place for you;
Minun Isäni huoneessa on monta asuinsiaa; jos ei niin olisi, niin minä sanoisin teille: minä menen valmistamaan teille siaa.
3 and if I go on and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you to Myself, that where I am you also may be;
Ja vaikka minä menen pois valmistamaan teille siaa, niin minä tulen jälleen ja otan teidät tyköni, että kussa minä olen, siellä pitää myös teidän oleman.
4 and to where I go away you have known, and the way you have known.”
Ja kuhunka minä menen, te tiedätte, ja tien te myös tiedätte.
5 Thomas says to Him, “Lord, we have not known to where You go away, and how are we able to know the way?”
Sanoi Toomas hänelle: Herra, emme tiedä, kuhunkas menet: kuinka siis me taidamme tietää tien?
6 Jesus says to him, “I AM the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, if not through Me;
Jesus sanoi hänelle: minä olen tie, totuus ja elämä. Ei kenkään tule Isän tykö, vaan minun kauttani.
7 if you had known Me, you would also have known My Father, and from this time you have known Him, and have seen Him.”
Jos te tuntisitte minun, niin te tosin myös tuntisitte Isäni; ja nyt te tunnette hänen, ja te näette hänen.
8 Philip says to Him, “Lord, show to us the Father, and it is enough for us”;
Philippus sanoi hänelle: Herra, osoita meille Isä, niin me tyydymme.
9 Jesus says to him, “Such [a] long time am I with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; and how do you say, Show to us the Father?
Jesus sanoi hänelle: minä olen niin kauvan aikaa teidän tykönänne, ja et sinä minua tunne? Philippus, joka näki minun, hän näki myös Isän: kuinka siis sinä sanot: osoita minulle Isä?
10 Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The sayings that I speak to you, I do not speak from Myself, and the Father who is abiding in Me does the works Himself;
Etkös usko minun olevan Isässä ja Isän minussa? Ne sanat, jotka minä teille puhun, en minä itsestäni puhu: mutta Isä, joka minussa on, hän tekee työt.
11 believe Me, that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in Me; and if not, because of the works themselves, believe Me.
Uskokaat minua, että minä olen Isässä ja Isä on minussa; mutta jos ei, niin töiden tähden uskokaat minua.
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who is believing in Me, the works that I do—that one will also do, and greater than these he will do, because I go on to My Father;
Totisesti, totisesti sanon minä teille: joka uskoo minun päälleni, ne työt, joita minä teen, hän on myös tekevä, ja suurempia, kuin ne ovat, on hän tekevä; sillä minä menen Isäni tykö.
13 and whatever you may ask in My Name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son;
Ja mitä ikänä te anotte minun nimeeni, sen minä teen: että Isä kunnioitettaisiin Pojan kautta.
14 if you ask anything in My Name I will do [it].
Mitä te anotte minun nimeeni, sen minä teen.
15 If you love Me, keep My commands,
Jos te rakastatte minua, niin pitäkäät minun käskyni.
16 and I will ask the Father, and He will give to you another Comforter, that He may remain with you throughout the age: (aiōn g165)
Ja minä olen rukoileva Isää, ja hän antaa teille toisen Lohduttajan, että hän teidän kanssanne olis ijankaikkisesti: (aiōn g165)
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see nor know [this] One, and you know [this] One, because [this] One remains with you, and will be in you.
Totuuden Hengen, jota ei maailma taida ottaa vastaan, sillä ei he näe häntä, eikä tunne häntä: mutta te tunnette hänen, sillä hän pysyy teidän tykönänne ja on teissä oleva.
18 I will not leave you bereaved, I come to you;
En minä jätä teitä orvoiksi, vaan minä tulen teidän tykönne.
19 yet a little [while] and the world beholds Me no more, and you behold Me, because I live, and you will live;
Vielä on vähän aikaa, ja ei maailma silleen minua näe, mutta te näette minun; sillä minä elän, ja te myös elätte.
20 in that day you will know that I [am] in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you;
Sinä päivänä pitää teidän ymmärtämän, että minä olen Isässä, ja te minussa ja minä teissä.
21 he who is having My commands, and is keeping them, that one it is who is loving Me, and he who is loving Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.”
Jolla minun käskyni ovat ja ne kätkee, se rakastaa minua: mutta joka minua rakastaa, hän rakastetaan minun Isältäni, ja minä tahdon häntä rakastaa, ja ilmoitan itseni hänelle.
22 Judas says to Him (not the Iscariot), “Lord, what has come to pass, that You are about to manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”
Sanoi hänelle Juudas: (ei se Iskariot) Herra, kuinka se tulee, ettäs tahdot meille itses ilmoittaa, ja et maailmalle?
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone may love Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and We will make [an] abode with him;
Jesus vastasi ja sanoi hänelle: joka minua rakastaa, se pitää minun sanani; ja minun Isäni rakastaa häntä, ja me tulemme hänen tykönsä, ja asumme hänen tykönänsä.
24 he who is not loving Me does not keep My words; and the word that you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
Joka ei minua rakasta, ei se minun sanojani kätke: ja se sana, jonka te kuulette, ei ole minun, vaan Isän joka minun lähetti.
25 These things I have spoken to you, remaining with you,
Näitä olen minä teille puhunut, ollessani teidän kanssanne.
26 and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I said to you.
Mutta Lohduttaja, Pyhä Henki, jonka Isä on lähettävä minun nimeeni, hän opettaa teille kaikki ja muistuttaa teille kaikki, mitä minä teille sanonut olen.
27 Peace I leave to you; My peace I give to you. Not according as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
Rauhan minä jätän teille, minun rauhani minä annan teille: en minä anna teille niinkuin maailma antaa. Älkään teidän sydämenne murheellinen olko, älkään myös peljätkö.
28 You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I come to you. If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, I go on to the Father, because My Father is greater than I.
Te kuulitte minun sanovan: minä menen pois ja tulen jälleen teidän tykönne. Jos te minua rakastaisitte, niin te tosin iloitsisitte, että minä sanoin: minä menen Isän tykö; sillä Isä on suurempi minua.
29 And now I have said [it] to you before it comes to pass, that when it may come to pass, you may believe.
Ja nyt minä sanon teille ennen kuin se tapahtuu, että te uskoisitte, kuin se tapahtunut on.
30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world comes, and he has nothing in Me;
En minä tästedes puhu paljon teidän kanssanne; sillä tämän maailman päämies tulee, jolla ei ole mitään minussa.
31 but that the world may know that I love the Father, and according as the Father gave Me command, so I do; arise, we may go from here.”
Mutta että maailma ymmärtäis minun Isää rakastavan, ja niinkuin Isä minulle käski, niin minä myös teen. Nouskaat, lähtekäämme täältä!
